Christmas is a time of joy and peace, and we hope the holiday season brings all of you happy reunions with families and friends, and time to rest and reflect as you look forward to a new year. At Christmas, we give thanks for the gift of the birth of Christ, and for the blessings that surround us every day of the year.In this great and prosperous land, we have so much to be thankful for, and Christmas reminds us of our obligation to share these blessings with others. There are many among us who are hurting and require a helping hand. In the new year, I hope Americans will look for ways to volunteer your time and talents where they are needed most. By reaching out to a neighbor in need, we make our nation a more just and compassionate place. This Christmas, we remember our fellow citizens who suffered from the hurricanes and other disasters that struck our nation this past year. We pray for their strength as they continue to recover and rebuild their lives and their communities.During the holiday season and throughout the year, we think with pride of the men and women of our Armed Forces, who are keeping our nation safe and defending freedom around the world. In Iraq, Afghanistan, and elsewhere, they are protecting our liberty by spreading liberty to others, and all Americans are grateful to our troops for their courage and commitment. We re also grateful to their families. Staying behind when afamily member goes to war is a heavy burden -- and it s particularly hard at Christmas. We pray for our military families; we ask Almighty God to bestow His protection and care on their loved ones as they protect our nation from grave dangers. We also remember the heroic men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation s freedom. We pray that God will comfort the loved ones they left behind. The sacrifices of these brave troops have rescued millions from lives of tyranny and sorrow, and made America more secure. We will always cherish the memory of each of our fallen servicemen and women, and count it a privilege to be citizens of the country they served. The times we live in have brought many challenges to our country. Christmas Day is more than a holidayGood evening, everyone:I am so glade to have the chance to give a speech here tonight. My topic is : Christmas Day is more than a holiday. Nowadays, more and more Chinese people are celebrating festivals which come from western countries, such as Christmas day, Halloween day, and valentine day. But very few people know--- how these festivals began and what they mean. They seemed more interested in the party or holiday than the culture inside the festivals. As Christmas day is coming soon---, I would like to revive the history--- of Christmas day with you.Christmas or Christmas Day is a holiday celebrating the birth of Jesus, the central figure of Christianity. It is traditionally celebrated on December 25 by most Western Christian churches . Although dating to probably as early as 200 AD, the feast of Christmas did not become widespread until the Middle Ages. Aspects of celebration may include gift-giving, Christmas trees, display of Nativity sets, church attendance, Santa Claus myth, and family gatherings.Above is what I know about the Christmas Day.== I hope that= we could know more== cultural background of the festivals== whenever we are planning to celebrate them.Thank you.。

圣诞节英语演讲稿篇1The name Christmas is short for "Christs Mass". A Mass is a kind of Church service. Christmas is a religious festival. It is the day we celebrate as the birthday of Jesus. There are special Christmas services in Christian churches all over the world. But many of the festivities of Christmas do not have anything to do with religion. Exchanging gifts and sending Christmas cards are the modern ways of celebrating the Christmas in the world. The birth of Jesus had a story: In Nazareth, a city of Galilee. The virgins name was Mary was betrothed to Joseph. Before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit. Joseph her husband was minded to put her away secretly. While he thought about these things, Gabriel, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and told him did not be afraid to take Mary as wife. And Mary will bring forth a Son, and he shall call his name, Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins. Before Jesus births, Joseph and Mary came to Quintus was governing Syria. So all went to be registered, everyone to his own city. Joseph also went up out of Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and of the lineage of David, to be registered with Mary, his betrothed wife, who was with child. Soit was that while they were there, the days were completed for her to be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped him in swaddling cloths, and laid him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn. And that, Christmas is the feast of the nativity of Jesus, is on 25th, December every year. But nobody know the actual birthday of Jesus. And the Christmas has become popular when Christmas cards appeared in 1846 and the concept of a jolly Santa Claus was first made popular in nineteenth Century.圣诞节英语演讲稿篇2Arrived the Christmas festival again, similar to usually, local scholars come out to oppose the Chinese in succession again recently over" Christmas festival", the many people emphasizes the Christmas festival again and again again western is a religious sex festival, is a family day, the person wants to meet together together at western this whole family of.I have to say; the medium, public opinion discuss these to have annually what use? Who like the quilt to observe a festival compulsory? We have another that kind of the festival that take the whole family member as the topic return little? Say a conveniently, I not am to oppose the reunited traditional festival of whole family, but all the year round, must have so how many days, stay is happy for ourselves a joy? The Christmas festival gave us a reason at the right moment- Can and favorite friends party, can manage to keep the spirit strongly shopping, can revel to idle away in seeking pleasure all night. All things are sell at a discount, all hotels hang full decorate, the street light is bright, bar in again and again sow" Christmas Eve" I feel that the Christmas festival gave everyone is a festival that without sense of responsibility, we can think the oneself veryyoung, imitate the buttha and returned to 18 years old ……If you think that you really cant lead a Christmas festival with obsequious to foreigners praise ocean, that relaxs the point rather, take it as a relaxed" the shopping stanza"!圣诞节英语演讲稿篇3On December 25, people around the world celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. Some people celebrate by giving gifts. Children may be thanking Santa Claus for new toys. They may also be going to church with their families. Christmas has so many traditions and symbols associated with it, that its hard to determine exactly how it came to be the celebration it is today.Ah! Christmas morning! Children like to wake up early while its still dark and sneak into the living room to check the presents----find any with their name on it, shake them to guess whats inside, and then maybe theyll go back to bed and pretend they are still asleep when their parents come to wake them with a "Merry Christmas!"But almost no one I know gets completely dressed or eats a regular breakfast first thing Christmas morning. They just put on a robe or wear their pajamas and go to see whats under the Christmas tree. Some Christian families have a tradition of reading the Bible story of Jesus birth. Maybe its to remind the children that Christmas is Jesus birthday.Someone will begin to take the presents out from under the tree, see whose name is on the package, and then pass them around. Some families wait until all the presents have been given out before opening any of them, while others open each one as it comes to them. There are many "thank you" to the ones who gave the gifts, new clothes are tried on to see if they fit, and of course the most interesting toys will immediately be played with.Usually among the Christmas gifts will be some especially delicious candy or cake or cookies which everyone tastes. These sweet things may be the only breakfast many people eat Christmas morning. After the gifts have been opened, the room will be tidied up except where the children are playing with their toys. Everyone will wash and get dressed for the day. Some people may go to a Christmas morning church service around ten oclock if their church didnt have one on Christmas Eve. But most people will just watch TV. Well, most men will. The children may play outside or inside with their new toys, but the mothers will be in the kitchen preparing Christmas Dinner.圣诞节英语演讲稿篇4The Christmas story also draws attention to all those people who are on the edge of society - people who feel cut off and disadvantaged; people who, for one reason or another, are not able to enjoy the full benefits of living in a civilised and law-abiding community. For these people the modern world can seem a distant and hostile place. It is all too easy to turn a blind eye, to pass by on the other side, and leave it to experts and professionals. All the great religious teachings of the world press home the message that everyone has a responsibility to care for the vulnerable. Fortunately, there are many groups and individuals, often unsung and unrewarded, who are dedicated to ensuring that the outsiders are given a chance to be recognised and respected. However, each one of us can also help by offering a little time, a talent or a possession, and taking a share in the responsibility for the well-being of those who feel excluded. And also today I want to draw attention to another group of people who deserve our thoughts this Christmas. We have allbeen conscious of those who have given their lives, or who have been severely wounded, while serving with the Armed Forces in Iraq and Afghanistan. The dedication of the National Armed Forces Memorial was also an occasion to remember those who have suffered while serving in these and every other place of unrest since the end of the Second World War.For their families, Christmas will bring back sad memories, and I pray that all of you, who are missing those who are dear to you, will find strength and comfort in your families and friends.A familiar introduction to an annual Christmas Carol Service contains the words: Because this would most rejoice his heart, let us remember, in his name, the poor and the helpless, the cold, the hungry, and the oppressed; the sick and those who mourn, the lonely and the unloved.Wherever these words find you, and in whatever circumstances, I want to wish you all a blessed Christmas.add text here.圣诞节英语演讲稿篇5Good morning. 圣诞节的三分钟英语演讲稿
圣诞节的三分钟英语演讲稿Christmas is a festive time of year that brings people together to celebrate love, joy, and hope. Today, I would like to share with you a three-minute English speech about Christmas. In this speech, we'll explore the history and traditions of Christmas, the significance of gift-giving, and the universal message of peace and goodwill. So, let's dive into the magical world of Christmas!Christmas, as we know it today, has its roots in both Christian and pagan traditions. It is believed to have originated from the birth of Jesus Christ, who Christians believe to be the Son of God. According to the biblical account, Jesus was born in Bethlehem over 2,000 years ago. This event is celebrated on the 25th of December, known as Christmas Day. However, the specific date of Jesus' birth remains a subject of debate.Throughout history, Christmas celebrations have evolved and absorbed various customs and traditions. One of the most iconic symbols of Christmas is the Christmas tree. Originating from pagan traditions of bringing evergreen branches into homes during winter, the Christmas tree has become a cherished symbol of hope and new beginnings. Decorating the tree with ornaments, lights, and a star on top has become a beloved tradition in many households around the world.Another cherished tradition of Christmas is the exchange of gifts. The act of giving presents to loved ones reflects the biblical story of the three wise men who brought gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh to the baby Jesus. Today, gift-giving represents the joy of sharing and expressing loveand gratitude towards one another. It is a heartwarming tradition that brings smiles to both children and adults alike.Beyond the material aspect, Christmas carries a universal message of peace and goodwill. It is a time when people set aside their differences and come together in harmony. This message is beautifully portrayed in the story of "A Christmas Carol" by Charles Dickens. The story follows the transformation of Ebenezer Scrooge, a cold-hearted miser, who learns the importance of kindness and compassion through encounters with the ghosts of Christmas past, present, and future. "God bless us, everyone!" uttered by the young Tiny Tim touches our hearts and reminds us of the power of empathy and generosity. In addition to traditional celebrations, modern society has incorporated new ways to enjoy Christmas. One popular tradition is the Christmas market, where streets are filled with festive stalls selling handicrafts, food, and drinks. These markets create a vibrant atmosphere and offer a unique opportunity to experience the holiday spirit. Carol singing, ice-skating, and watching Christmas movies with loved ones are also popular activities during this time of year.As we celebrate Christmas, let us remember the true essence of this special holiday. It is a time to cherish our loved ones, to show kindness to strangers, and to embrace the spirit of giving. Christmas reminds us to be grateful for what we have and to share our blessings with those in need.In conclusion, Christmas is a joyous occasion that brings people together in celebration. Whether through the exchange of gifts, the decoration of Christmas trees, or the universal message of peace and goodwill, Christmasholds a special place in our hearts. Let us cherish the traditions, embrace the spirit, and spread love and joy not only during this season but throughout the year. Thank you.。

It is a time of joy, love, and giving, as well as a time to remember the birth of Jesus Christ.Christmas traditions vary from country to country, but certain elements are universally embraced. Let me share with you some of the common customs and traditions associated with this festive occasion.First and foremost, Christmas is a time for family gatherings. It is a time when loved ones come together to celebrate, share meals, exchange gifts, and create lasting memories. The festive atmosphere brings warmth and happiness to households, as family members reunite, often traveling great distances to be together.Another important aspect of Christmas is the decoration of homes and public spaces. Beautifully adorned Christmas trees, sparkling lights, and colorful ornaments are seen everywhere, creating a magical ambiance. People also display wreaths, mistletoe, and stockings to further enhance the festive spirit. One of the cherished symbols of Christmas is Santa Claus. Believed to bring gifts to well-behaved children, Santa Claus is an iconic figure whocaptures the imagination of young and old alike. Children eagerly write letters to Santa, expressing their wishes and hopes for the holiday season. In addition to the joy and merriment, Christmas is also a time for reflection and acts of kindness. Later that night, Father or Mother will put presents in the sock, and leave others at the side of the bed.On Christmas morning, the children wake up very early. Some even turn on the light at two o'clock, and most of them are awake by six o'clock although it is not light in England for another hour or two at this time of theyear.Children look for their presents , and the young ones play while the dinner is prepared. 圣诞节主题的英文演讲稿1The Christmas story also draws attention to all those people who are on the edge of society - people who feel cut off and disadvantaged; people who, for one reason or another, are not able to enjoy the full benefits of living in a civilised and law-abiding community. We have all been conscious of those who have given their lives, or who have been severely wounded, while serving with the Armed Forces in Iraq and Afghanistan. The dedication of the National Armed Forces Memorial was also an occasion to remember those who have suffered while serving in these and every other place ofunrest since the end of the Second World War.For their families, Christmas will bring back sad memories, and I pray that all of you, who are missing those who are dear to you, will find strength and comfort in your families and friends.A familiar introduction to an annual Christmas Carol Service contains the words: Because this would most rejoice his heart, let us remember, in his name, the poor and the helpless, the cold, the hungry, and the oppressed; the sick and those who mourn, the lonely and the unloved.Wherever these words find you, and in whatever circumstances, I want to wish you all a blessed Christmas.add text here.圣诞节主题的英文演讲稿2It is said that around sixteenth Century, the German evergreen pine branches to the furnishings in the house, and later, the German missionary Martin Ruud put the candle on the fir tree in the woods, and then lit, it looks like to guide people to the Bethlehem stars, like two thousand years ago, the three Magi found Jesus in accordance with the stars in general. Today, people have used small light bulbs instead of candles.A long time ago, a farmer, met a poor child on Christmas day, he received a child, the child when he left pine root ed in the ground and immediately turned into a pine tree, hung above a gift to farmers in return for the kindness. However, the Christmas tree really appeared at Christmas, first seen in Germany and then introduced into Europe and the United States as an indispensable ornament for Christmas. They usually use colorful lights, wax, gifts or angels to decorate Christmas trees, especially those living in the northwestern part of the United States. Because of the abundant forest resources, they will choose a real tree as Christmas tree. The Christmas tree has a wide variety of natural pine and cypress Christmas trees, and artificial Christmas trees and white Christmas trees. Every Christmas tree is covered with dazzling decorations, but there must be a huge star at the top of every tree. Its like a star guiding the eastern three doctors to find Jesus. And in traditional customs, only one owner of the family can hang the star of hope.圣诞节主题的英文演讲稿3Christmas is comingI like Christmas, it is just like our Spring Festival.Maybe the Spring Festival is much more important and interesting than Christmas, but I like Christmas Day better. Because we can spend time with our friends and classmates during Christmas. When it is snowy,Christmas becomes much more lovely, just like in fairytales. I can imagine I am in a fairytale, the girl who sold the matches is my friend, the ugly duck becoming more and more beautiful and so on. What a beautiful place! So we can also call Christmas “Snowy Lovely Day.”On Christmas Day, shops are red and green. There are so many Christmas cards, Christmas hats, Christmas dolls and many colourful things. So shops look very beautiful. We can give a card or a doll to our friends and say “Merry Christmas.” By the way, I think studying can also become much more interesting.Christmas is coming, it also means a new year will come. Let’s study harder to welcome the new year!圣诞节主题的英文演讲稿4Christmas is the biggest festival in the western world, which people all over the Christian countries celebrate. It is on the 25th day of each December.Christians consider it as the birthday ofJesus Christ. But now many customs and habits are beyond religious meaning. The Christmas season begins five or six weeks before the exact holiday. There is always a shopping boom during this period. So its really a happy season for shop owners.圣诞节主题的英文演讲稿5Last Christmas night is busy, some people in buying goods, some people in the restaurant for dinner, or go for a walk. Mom and dad and I are in McDonald's Christmas Eve.As soon as I walked into the store to see it was crowded with people, also look brand-new, and have a warm and comfortable feel. People start preparing for Christmas well in advance. They clean and decorate their homes, put up Christmas trees and ornaments, and hang stockings for Santa Claus to fill with gifts. The atmosphere is filled with excitement and anticipation. One of the most important symbols of Christmas is the Christmas tree. The Feast of Christmas
It is not easy to pin-point the origins of the Christmas feast, today the more important feast of the Christmas season in most western Christian churches. One can only say for certain that the birth of Jesus Christ was being celebrated in Rome by the year 336 ; afterwards the feast was celebrated in other Christian churches throughout the world.
Why it was celebrated on December 25th is another question. No date for the birth of Jesus can be found in the New Testament, which is concerned more with the question "Who is Jesus?" than the date of his birth. Early Christian speculation about his birth date was influenced by the symbolism of the changing seasons, then popular in religious thought, which paid careful
attention to the equinoxes and solstices of the sun. Christian scholars speculated that Jesus was conceived at the spring equinox (March 25th) and therefore was born on December 25th, the date of the winter solstice.
In many of the Christian churches, March 25th is still the Feast of the Annunciation, when the Angel Gabriel announced to Mary that she was to be the mother of Jesus.
Possible impluse for the feast of Christmas may have came too from the establishment of the pagan feast of the "Unconquered Sun-God" by the Emperor Aurelian in 274 to be celebrated on December 25, the day of the winter solstice in R
Rome and throughout the empire. In response, Christians could celebrate the feast of the "Sun of righteousness" (Malachi 4,2), Jesus Christ, who called himself " the light of the world."
