Happy Ending!

And this weak and idle theme, No more yielding but a dream.。

Egeus: No matter what you say, I've decided to let you marry Demetrious. I stick to do this!

HERMIA: I won’t give my heart to the person who I never like.

Egeus: If you don't marry Demetrious, I'll use the ancient right of Athens, asking to put you to death according to our law!

HERMIA: Oh! Please, please do not! My dear father! Don’t you love meany more? Don’t give me up, please!

Lysander: Sweet HERMIA, my love! What’s going wrong? Let me wipe your heart-breaking tears!

HERMIA: My father said that unless I marry Demetrious, or he’ll be put me to death!(一步步后退到舞台右侧)我爸爸说,除非我嫁给狄米崔斯,否则他将处死我Lysander: My love…Lysander跟到右侧,试图安慰Hermia,Hermia:NO…Hermia 躲开他,悲伤的跑到舞台左侧LYSANDER. Ay me! For aught that I could ever read, Could ever hear by tale or history, The course of true love never did run smooth; But either it was different in blood-HERMIA. O cross! Too high to be enthrall’d to low.LYSANDER. Or else misgraffed in respect of years-HERMIA. O spite! Too old to be engag’d to young.LYSANDER. Or else it stood upon the choice of friends-HERMIA. O hell! To choose love by another’s eyes.LYSANDER. Or, if there were a sympathy in choice, War, death, or sickness, did lay siege to it, Making it momentary as a sound,Swift as a shadow, short as any dream, Brief as the lightning in the collied night,That, in a spleen, unfolds both heaven and earth, And ere a man hath power to say ‘Behold!’The jaws of darkness do devour itup; So quick bright thingscome to confusion.HERMIA. If then truelovers have ever cross’d,Itstands as an edict in destiny. Then let us teach our trialpatience, Because it is acustomary cross, As due tolove as thoughts and dreamsand sighs, Wishes and tears, poor Fancy’s followers.

(两人手握手,互换位置)Lysander: You are right, my love. Therefore, hear me, HERMIA. Tomorrow night, I’ll wait for you in the wood a few miles outside the city. If youreally love me, gets far away this sad city with me.

HERMIA: I will because I love you so.

Lysander: Keep promise, love. Here comes Helena and I have to go.

(Helena 上)HERMIA: I’m so glad to see you, fair Helena.

Helena: You call me fair? That fair again unsay. Demetrious loves your fair. Oh, tech me how to attract his eyes, please? 但是狄米崔斯爱的是你,请教我如何吸引他的目光吧?HERMIA: Take comfort, he no more shall see my face. (激动的说)Tomorrow night Lysander and myself will fly this place. We’ll meet in the wood. Pleasepray for us and don’t tell others, farewell.(从左侧下)明晚莱赛德和我将要逃离此地,我们相约在森林里见面,请你为我们祈祷,并且不要告诉其他人,再见。

HELENA(在廊柱绕行)How happy some o'er other some can be! Through Athens I am thought as fair as she.But what of that? Demetrius thinks not so; He will not know what all but he do know. And as he errs, doting on HERMIA's eyes, So I, admiring of his qualities. Things base and vile, holding no quantity, ove can transpose to form and dignity. Love looks not with the eyes, but with the mind; And therefore is wing'd Cupid painted blind. Nor hath Love's mind of any judgment taste; Wings and no eyes figure unheedy haste; And therefore is Love said to be a child, Because in choice he is so oft beguil'd. As waggish boys in game themselves forswear, So the boy Love is perjur'd everywhere; For ere Demetrius look'd on HERMIA's eyne, He hail'd down oaths that he was only mine; And when this hail some heat from HERMIA felt, So he dissolv'd, and show'rs of oaths did melt.(停顿,稍作思考,面露喜色,面向观众说) I will go tell him of fairHERMIA's flight; Then to the woodwill he to-morrow night Pursue her;and for this intelligenceIf I havethanks, it is a dear expense. Butherein mean I to enrich my pain, Tohave his sight thither and back again.(飘下去)有些人比起其他的人来是多么幸福!
