Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen. Today I would like to begin with a story. There was once a physical 1) therapist who traveled all the way from America to Africa to do a 2) census about mountain 3) gorillas. These gorillas are a main attraction to tourists from all over the world; this put them severely under threat of 4)poaching and being put into the zoo. She went there out of curiosity, but what she saw strengthened her determination to devote her whole life to fighting for those beautiful creatures. She witnessed a scene, a scene taking us to a place we never imaged we"ve ever been, where in the very depth of the African rainforest, surrounded by trees, flowers and butterflies, the mother gorillas 5) cuddled their babies.Yes, that"s a memorable scene in one of myfavorite movies, called Gorillas in the Mist, based on a true story of Mrs. Dian Fossey, who spent most of bet lifetime in Rwanda to protect the ecoenvironment there until the very end of her life.To me, the movie not only presents anunforgettable scene but also acts as a 6) timeless reminder that we should not develop the tourist industry at the cost of our ecoenvironment.Today, we live in a world of prosperity but still threatened by so many new problems. On the one hand, tourism, as one of the most promising industries in the 21st century, provides people with the great opportunity to see everything there is to see and to go any place there is to go. It has bee a lifestylefor some people, and has turned out to be the driving force in GDP growth. It has the magic to turn a backward town into a wonderland of prosperity. But on the other hand, many problems can occur---natural scenes aren"t natural anymore. Deforestation to heat lodges is devastating Nepal. Oil spills from touristboats are polluting Antarctica. Tribal people are forsaking their native music and dress to listen to U2 on Walkman and wear Nike and Reeboks. All these 7) appalling(令人震惊的) facts have brought us to the realization that we can no longer stand by and do nothing, because the very thought ofit has been 8) eroding(侵蚀) our resources. Encouragingly, the explosive growth of global travel has put tourism again in the spotlight, which is why the United Nations has made 2021 the year of ecotourism, for the first time to bring to the world"s attention the benefits of tourism, but also its capacity to destroy our ecoenvironment. Now every year, many local ecoenvironmental protection organizations an: receiving donations--big notes, small notes or even coins--from housewives, 9)plumbers(水管工人), ambulance drivers, salesmen, teachers, children and 10) invalids(残疾人), Some of them can not afford to send the money but they do. These are the ones who drive the cabs, who nurse in hospitals, who are suffering from ecological damage intheir neighborhood. Why? Because they care. Because they still want their Mother Nature back. Because they know it still belongs to them. This kind of feeling that I have, ladies and gentlemen, is when it feels like it, smells like it, and looks like it, it"s all ing from a scene to remember, a scene to recall and to cherish. The other night, as l saw the moon linger over the land and before it was sent into the invisible, my mind was filled with songs. I found myself humming softly, not to the music, but to some- thing else, someplace else. a place remembered, a place untouched, a field of grass where no one seem to have been except the deer. And all those unforgettable scenes strengthened the feeling that it"s lime for us to do something, for our own and our ing generation.Once again, I have e to think of Mrs. Dian Fossey be- cause it"s with her spirit, passion, courage and strong sense of our ecoenvironment that we are taking our next step into the world. And no matter who we are, what we do and where we go, in our mind, there"s always a scene to remember, a scene worth our effort to protect it and fight for it.Thank you very much.。

1.Is it right to publish the names of those offenders who violate the traffic rules? Is it a good event or bad beginning? Why ?Give specific examples to support your idea.2.College students Should work parttime to help their parents.Do you agree or disagree with point? Give specific examples to support your speech. 理由:(It's a good way to experience the real world and enrich your life. Of course, you can earn some money at the same time. But sometimes, it might take too much of your time and may affect your study. So we have to strike a balance!A serious problem has arisen in recent several years that more and more college students abandon study because of their taking part-time jobs, so quite a few people are opposed to part-time jobs. However, taking part-time jobs has at least three benefits for college studens in my eyes.First, students can promote their study through part-time jobs. For instance, If a law student finds a part-time job in a law firm, his practice will enable him to better understand what he's learned from books. What's more, the part-time job can offerhim opportunities to go beyond what he's been taught in class, and he'll learn something that doesn't exist in books but in practice.Second, students can also accumulate work experiences through part-time jobs, which will benefit their future job-hunting. Actually, part-time jobs act as warm-up exercises for students to take full-time jobs after they graduate, and help them prepare for their future careers. In addition, as fresh blood in the society, graduated students are often unfavored in job-hunting markets for lack of practical work experiences. It's easier to find jobs for those who have accumulated experiences in part-time jobs.Last but not the least, part-time jobs can partly relieve students' financial burden, especially those who are from poor families. College tution fees have greatly increased in the past ten years due to the new educational policy. Many students from poor families cannot afford college fees, and our bank system fail to loan college students as effectively as it does in developed countries, so taking part-time jobs becomes a way for them to meet their great expenses in campus lives. It's an undenied fact that students break the balance between their jobs and studies, especially when they fall into conflict with each other. But I think students should spend their spare time taking part-time jobs. Only following this principle can they benefit from their part-time jobs. )3.City life fails to bring happiness. Do you agree or disagree with this idea. Why? Give specific examples to support your idea.4.Now students should earn more degrees than practical skills. Do you agree or disagree?理由:(Currently, there is a long-lasting fever of earning a variety of degrees among college students, including degree and skills certificates. Many students spend their weekends and vocation in preparing for tests on English, Law and Computer Science. Even after their graduation, some of them are still having full enthusiasm on it.No doubt degree have attractions of their own. They are evidences toconfirm students’ abilities. Work-related or competence-based degree may even help students find a satisfactory job, so students hold the opinion that they are obtaining not credentials but opportunities for their future. However, as it is known to all that each coin has its two sides, earning a degree also brings negative influences in spite of its advantages. First, some degrees are earned at the expense of the basic discipline study or major learning. Second, it will take 300 to 500 Yuan to go in for a certain certificate, leading to great financial burden. Third, better jobs do not always necessarily follow more qualifications. From my point of view, what matters most is relevant experience or skill, not the number of degree you have earned.)5.As new generation, We could get married without money. Is it a good event or bad beginning? Why ?Give specific examples to support your idea.6.Is it morally right to ban buskers on streets and subways, who make living by themselves? why?7.Today more college students attend beauty contests than ever. What’s your point of view on this issue?8.More people Buy more brand names than ever. Is it a good event or bad beginning? Why ?Give specific examples to support your idea.理由:(University Students' Pursuit of Famous Brands--“what perfumes are you wearing?” “aren’t your shoes Nike’s latest release?” “I like the Mickey bag you bought yesterday.” “I hear the jack&jones store is on s ale thie week. Do you wanna come along?” don’t feel surprised if you hear them coming out of the mouth of college students, it’s quite common to hear and see college students swapping information about the brands they like and the products they use. In fact, discussions about brand names have become one of the college students’ favourite pastimes. They learn about the latest fashion from each other, exchange tips about when and where to get the item, and buy it at their earliest convenience. “keeping up with the joneses” is their conviction –“if the joneses have it, how could I have not?”About this current mindset of the college students, many people may hasten to show their disapproval. They’ll probably take it to be a reflection of the students’ vanity an d superficiality. And they may lecture them on the virtue of being thrifty. However, I beg to differ, for one thing, name-brand products are usually quality products, as such, they are something beautiful, endurable, and reliable, “the love of beauty is common to all.” Goes the proverb; therefore, there’s nothing to blame about the pursuit of famous brands. For the other, college students are old enough to make their own decisions. Likewise, they must abide by the consequences if they make an ill-advised one. If they let their pursuit of brands eat into their budget for other more important issues, they should be able to correct their mistakes and keep everything in moderation. So this becomes no other than a good chance to learn management, isn’t it?)9.High school textbooks now delete a series of chinese classic works. Is it a good event or bad beginning? Why? Give specific examples to support your idea.10. Do you really believe that getting into top universities or colleges may enable you as a step closer to success?11. We have to use our real names online? Do you agree or disagree with this proposal?12. Do you agree or disagree with the point that students have the right to choose to live on campus or outside campus Why. Give specific example to support your ideas.13. College students can decide by themselves to wear brand names or not. What do you think of this point? Why? 814. Volunteers only stand out in case of disaster and accident. Do you think it is good phenomenon or not? Why ?15. We should give up dialects and move to mandarin Chinese. Do you agree or disagree?16. Are criticism leveled upon Post 80's Generation or 90's Generation justified? 17. Are pre-university students too young to live in foreign countries? Why do you think in that way? 理由:(Recently it seems that among the pre-university s tudents who choose to study abroad, there are more and more-teenagers who study in high schools or even elementary schools. Many people, especially the parents, think it will certainly do good to their chidren because the independent life will make them learn confidence and perseverance. Moreover, the quality of overseas education is often higher, thus the child stands a better chance of entering a better university and getting a better job in the future. After careful consideration, I have to say the above view is more than biased. On the one hand, early independent life is not necessarily good, if the child cannot receive proper guidance and tender care from both teachers and parents. On the other hand, the educational quality is also a question—too many foreign schools aim at earning money. When the children come back, who can guarantee that they can adapt to the fierce competition here?We can see clearly that although teenagers' studying abroad may bring favorable results, there are still a lot to worry about. It seems necessary for young students to make a careful investigation before going abroad.)18. The study of history has value only to the extent that it is relevant to our daily lives. Do you agree or disagree with the point? Why?19. Which is better solution to city traffic problems? To raise gasoline price or restrict the number of cars? Why. Give specific examples to support your ideas.理由:(Nowadays, people in many big cities are complaining about the heavy traffic. It has seriously influenced people's daily life and economic development. To solve the problem, some pieces of advice are put forward. Some people suggest that morestreets and roads should be built. In this way,the traffic density can be redncedi hence speeding up the flow of buses and cars. But the new roads and streets will be filled with many cars and buses soon. Some people advise to limit the number of bikes and cars. This can decrease the traffic flow. But on the other haad, this will affect the consumption and make buses more crowded. In my opinion, the number of private cars should be put under control. And at the same time, buses should have their own special routes which cannot be used by other vehicles. Besides, underground train and city train should be developed quickly.) 20.College students have the right to choose their courses. Do you agree or disagree? Why?21. Universities should abolish the practice of cutting off electricity at dormitory at night.22. P.E. class should be made elective in universities.23. Advertisement degrades降低people’s quality of life.理由:(Advertisement is omnipresent in our modern society. It seems wherever we go, such small ads will greet our eyes: the supermarket, the subways, the stop sighs, the walls of public buildings, the garbage cans, and whatsoever. The ads can be about everything from selling mobile phone, renting houses, treating difficult diseases to producing fake diplomats. (from domestic articles to machinery, from toys to aircrafts.)It’s no exaggeration that we live in the world of advertisement. The advantage of the ads is self-evident. They provide us with a good collection of goods and service, from which we can make our best choices. For the manufacturer, they can take advantage of the ads to project the characters of their products so as to seize the vision of the consumers and gain them huge profits. However, we cannot belittle the disadvantages of the ads. ①To many ads do spoil our daily life and waste our time. They interrupt the TV programs, filling our letterbox, and ruin our appreciation of nature in place of interests. People often feel burdened with the ads instead of satisfying with them. ②On the other hand, some of the ads are illegal, spreading false information and planning to treat people who are eager to solve their problems. It’s high time we took urgent and effective measures to curb this phenomenon. ①Firstly, we should intensify the effects to supervise t he ads markets. It’s crucial that we must regulate the ads market strictly to avoid someone’s availing himself or herself of the loophole ofthe market management. ②Secondly, whoever takes advantage of ads treating consumers should be punished or imprisoned. ③Thirdly, we should educate people to abide by the law and give priorities to honesty and credit. Only when putting these measures into practice, will our society be purified into a paradise for us to live in.) A.(1)It is well-known/generally accepted/acknowledged/believed/held that论点.(2) 正确性表现之一,(3)Besides/In addition,正确性表现二. They may care about their illustrious names afterdeath; they may feel attached to the affection of their offspring, butthey never lay their hopes on their afterlife. They may also say that goodwill be rewarded with good, and evil with evil, but they don't reallybelieve any retribution in their after life. However, in the religious world or among the superstitious people, the belief in afterlife is very popular. They do not only believe inafterlife, but thousands of reincarnations as well. In the mysteriousworld, there are the paradise and the hell, the celestial beings and thegods, the Buddha and the Bodhisattvas.Maybe they really believed it, or maybe they just wanted to make useof people's veneration, the ancient emperors always declared that theywere the real dragons, the sons of God, while the royal ministers claimedto be the reincarnations of various constellations. But can the starsreincarnate? Many people burn incense and kowtow, do good deeds and strive forvirtues, not just for the present, but mainly to let God see theirsincerity so as to be reborn into a better afterlife, or to achieve thehighest enlightenment after several lives of practice. They do believein afterlife. But I can't help asking: Suppose there were no afterlife, would you still do good deeds and strive for virtues? And If God does notsee what you are doing, would you still be so upright and selfless? Ifyou work, not for serving the public and liberating the others, but justfor a better afterlife of your own, isn't it a little too selfish?Comparing with this kind of believers, those who don't believe inafterlife, but still keep doing good deeds, are the most sincere and honest philanthropists, because they do them not for themselves but for other. You may wonder if I believe in afterlife. My answer is: I know nothingabout my previous life, so I dare not make improper comments on afterlife. But I do hope there's afterlife! Because our present life is so short thatso many things slip away before our proper understanding. I have so manydreams, so many wishes, so many ambitions, as well as so many regrets andconcerns. If there were no afterlife, all of them will remain unrealized!I'm not contented with the present commonplace life, I'm very muchattached to the affections that should have been mine but have been washedaway by the hurrying time, and I yearn for the perfection and maturityif I could start all over again. So believe it or not, I'd rather therewere afterlife. (2) Good morning, Ladies and Gentlemen,Before the speech, I would like to share a famous experiment with you.Two big mice were put into one vessel which was filled with water. Theybegan to struggle when they were aware of danger. But finally their livesjust lasted 8 minutes. After that, another two joined the same experimentbut this time a springboard was given to help them get out of water. Fivedays later, the two experienced big mice were put into the same experiment.A miracle came into being. Can you guess it? Without the spring board, they survived 24 minutes, three times as many as the first time.Have you found the difference between the two groups? Just one thingis that the latter has owned a kind of spiritual strength ---hope.People can lose many things except hope. One animal with hope is morerespectable than one person with hopelessness. Therefore, everyone shouldbe to hope in the life. We should have our goals, dreams, and beliefstogether with the endless hope. Hope is light; hope is dawn; hope is therising sun. Hope endows us with courage, confidence and power. Pleasethink about the Red Army men and the last group of people rescued duringearthquakes. Why can they adhere to the end? Because they believed in hope.It is hope that nurtures persistence; it is hope that creates miraclesone by one. Now, please look at this. What's this? I know all of you can give mea correct answer. Yes, it is a leaf. Have you ever thought more about it?Do you believe it can save a life? I am afraid most of you do not believeit. However, it really saved one young lady. The story happened in oneof O.Henry's works. One patient was told that her disease was becomingmore and more serious. So she lost heart to live. And she just livedcommonly and hopelessly to await death together with a withered treeoutside her window. Because she thought when the last leaf fell, her lifewould go to the end. But after a very long time, she found the last leafwas still green and fresh in the tree and she was also alive. Afterwards, she was told that the last leaf was just painted by a skilled painter onthe window which was a gloss. At that time, she exceedingly regreted herforegone view.So ladies and gentlemen, please give a leaf to yourselves. With a pieceof leaf at hand, you will find life glows with glory; With a gleam of hopein mind, you will find everything goes with smoothness. To hope, to smoothaway all the difficulties, to take every obstacle in stride. You are ashinning star. Thank you very much! (3)Distinguished judges, teachers, dear friends:Hello, everybody! My name is, I come from. Today, I am very glad to stand here and share with you my most sincere speech‘Flying youth, master our future!’Life is a process of growing up. Saying goodbye to childhood, we step into another important time of life‘the youth’.However, who can really say what the youth is ? A period of time? A belief? An attitude to life? Or anything else? We don’t know.A famous poet said ‘ youth is a lovely song ,where nothing is impossible ; youth is a meaningful book, you’ll be never bored of it ;youth is a rapid river ,it keeps on flowing day and night ;youth is a cup of tea ,it shows you different kinds of tastes in your life. ’As youth is so precious, of course, we must treasure it .Don’t let the limited time pass by, leaving nothing of significance to our future. Actually, youth has a lot to do with our future. It’s necessary for us to prepare ourselves well for the future to come. So, what should we do? Here ,I’ll point out some tips to help equip ourselvesFirst of all, recognize the direction of your future. In other word, think of what you’d like to be some day. A teacher ? A doctor ? A writer? Don’t afraid of thinking big and great .Since you are young , you can dream of doing anything and becoming anyone in the future What’s more , never ignore the power of knowledge. Read more books and travel around. For one thing, it can increase your knowledge, for another, it’ll broaden your horizon.Last but not the least , stick to your dream. It easier said than done. After all, future is not all roses. So, we should have enough courage and determination to overcome all the difficulties.I firmly believe one sentence that‘If you think you can, of courseyou can!’Just believe we can make it! Keep on walking towards our dream.Flying youth ,master our future. From today, from now on ,from DupingMiddle School ! Ready ?That’s all. Thank you so much for your attention ! (4) Facing this audience on the stage, I have the exciting feeling ofparticipating in the march of history, for what we are facing today ismore than a mere competition or contest. It is an assembly of some of China’s most talented and motivated people, representatives of a youngergeneration that are preparing themselves for the coming of a new century.I’m grateful that I’ve been given this opportunity, at such a historicmoment, to stand here as a spokesman of my generation and to take a seriouslook back at the past 15 years, a crucial period for every one of us andfor this nation as well.Though it is only within my power to tell about my personal experience, and only a tiny fragment of it at that, it still represents, I believe, the root of a spirit which has been essential to me and to all the peoplebred by the past 15 years. In my elementary years, there was a little girl in the class who workedvery hard but somehow could never do satisfactorily in her lessons. The teacher asked me to help her, and it was obvious that she expecteda lot from me. but as a young boy, restless, thoughtless, I always triedto evade her so as to get more time to enjoy myself. One day before the final exam, she came up to me and said, Could youplease explain this to me? I want very much to do better this time. Istarted explaining, and finished in a hurry. Pretending not to notice herstill confused eyes, I ran off quickly. Nat surprisingly, she again didvery badly in the exam. And two months later, at the beginning of the newsemester, word came of her death of blood cancer. No one ever knew aboutthe little task I failed to fulfill, but I couldn’t forgive myself. Isimply couldn’t forget her eyes, which seem to be asking, Why didn’tyou do a little more to help me, when it was so easy for you? Why didn’t you understand a little better the trust placed in you, so that I wouldnot have to leave this world in such pain and regret?I was about eight or nine years old at that time, but in a way it wasthe very starting point of my life, for I began to understand the wordresponsibility and to learn to always do my duties faithfully anddevotedly, for the implications of that sacred word has dawned on me: themutual need and trust of people, the co-operation and inter-reliance whichare the very foundation of human society.Later in my life, I continued to experience many failures. But neveragain did I feel that regret which struck me at the death of the girl, for it makes my heart satisfied to think that I have always done everythingin my power to fulfill my responsibilities as best I can.As I grew up, changed and improved by this incident and many othersimilar ones, I began to perceive the changes taking place around me andto find that society, in a way, was in its formative years like myself.New buildings, new commodities and new fashions appear every day. (5)I Am Tripping My Elephant HereOnce upon a time, a weenie ant was walking on his way. As he was walking, suddenly he felt the ground shaking terribly. He looked around with hisparanoid eyes and saw an elephant walking right behind him. Quickly, the little ant covered himself with dirt, but one leg was unfortunately left out. A sparrow saw everything, so she flew down with the purpose of teasing the ant: “Hey, chicken! Watch out your leg, it’s out!” The ant felt embarrassed at first but then calmly responded: “ Shi…I am going to trip that elephant.”Right now, I’m standing on this glamorous stage. But everything here reminds me of is a not so fun memory. Around this time last year I was in Nanjing competing in another speech contest. That was the first time for me to be in such a large event. Of course the pressure I was under was immense too. After a sleepless and stressful night, I went onto that stage without the feeling in my legs. That speech turned out to be horrible.I don’t remember how I get down from there, but I do remember afterwards I just wanted to find a hole to hide in just like the ant in the story. Back at my school, it took a long time for me to recover. Thanks to all the help I got from my special friends. My confidence was restored. After rounds of giving speeches and answering tough questions, I am here today. From all that I’ve been through I’ve learned that a good future is based on a forgotten past, if I want my life to go on well I have to let go of my past failure. So today, with out fear, I am tripping my elephant again.

Unfortunately , I cannot. And fortunately, in less than 3 minutes will you know my ideas.I think the most unbelievable news in the last century is we are genetically 99.9% the same. Do you feel a little excited, now? I did, when I first time heard it from the radio. And suddenly realized that we are born to be the sam e. This eye-catching news approved what we called “global village”, and then told us we are born with a “global citizenship” just like with the character. However, same to the character, global citizenship is not only accepted by oneself ,but also by others. As traditional Chinese saying goes, “thousands of miles should begin at first step”. Only if we have a good beginning at home — step first we firmly stepped, it would be easy for other global citizens to admit us .But you may feel a little bored to listen to my lecture and ask “what do you really want us to know?”So let’s pay attention to our motherland. China has set us good examples to favor the title “global citizenship begins at home”. More than a hundre d years ago, when the old Chinese government limited economic growth and lock his doors against the world. He missed the best opportunity to develop himself. He abandoned home, but was eager for an absolute global citizenship. He wanted to ignore the first step but jump far. Let alone other countries with an ulterior motive, I cannot agree. But now everything is changing. China is enjoying his broaden global citizenship in global affairs. Only when he is getting stronger himself, the global citizenship is truly owned by himself.Honor judges and dear friends, rem ember “global citizenship begins at home”, our dream should be that we keep on going to conform the changing world and keep our global citizenship worthy. As long as our dream outweighs our ability, the world, our country and ourselves will be forever young. That’s is our destiny. And this is our moment.Thank you for listening. Good night.演讲大赛英文演讲稿good afternoon,Ladies and gentlemen . The title of my speech is " The development of traditional culture " :The 21st century has started a new history . Great changes have taken place in the world because of the prosperous development of technology and science . Some of you might have noticed that more and more people around us have started to learn a second language besides English . But maybe you will ask me “Isn‟t it a good thing ?” No , absolutely not . It certainly meets the objective request of the economic globalization .While we accept western culture, some of us lost themselves in the …cultural sea‟. Chances are that we are likely to lose our own traditional cultures . So ,the cultural globalization which is caused by economic globalization may be harmful to our country‟s scientific development. As is well known to all , culture is the pillar of science .But there exist two phenomenon in the process of globation . One is some people called …Mr West ‟ 。

speech of mu jiawei, northwest normal university in recent years, the development of the chinese economy has been incredibly fast, some might even call it miraculous. but behind the miracles lies a problem: thedevelopment is unbalanced in different regions. under the strategy of the chinese government, china has three major economicregions: the east, the middle and the west. with its advantageous position, the eastis the fastest developing area, leaving the west far behind, and the middle somewherein between. for instance, the gdp per capita in the east amounts to us$2000, whilethat of the west is only 40% of the east. furthermore, the gap between the urban and the rural, according to the statestatistical bureau, has widened to more than 10 years. there are people in the bigcities with large houses, expensive cars, other luxuries and better opportunities.however, there are people in the countryside, living on meager food, without thesecurity of health, education, and so on. this is the diversity of the chinese economy. for the unity of the full nationaleconomic development, governments of all levels have decided on correspondingstrategies, for example, the greater development of the western region, thecontinuing rise of the central china, and the faster development of the east.specifically, within the west, provinces alike have established programs ofdevelopment, with financial and technological aid of the central government, makingfull use of the western natural resources. such strategies have turned out to beremarkably successful.it reminds me of the world. there are wealthy countries in north america and europe;there are poor ones in asia and africa. the aid from the rich world is far from enoughto remove poverty in the developing countries. therefore, with the help of funds, technology, and management from wealthy countries, these developing countries nowhave the opportunity to establish their own right strategies of development, takingfull advantage of their natural and human resources. speech of li mengxia, harbin engineering university unity and diversity -- diversity talks this is a force. it’s unity. we are the world because of unity. it enables the international co-operationalmanufacture by setting up unified standards for everything. a nail produced in chinacan be perfectly used in any corner of the world. therefore, it is unity that leads world into a perfect harmony! however, don’t you think it’s a little bit boring with unity ruling the worldonly? what would you do if someone orders you to do whatever he does without allowingyou to do what you really want? apparently, you’ll be going nuts, because you arenot leading a life of your own. so, to us, diversity talks! before i went to college, my dad asked me: son, did you think of being outstanding?if you want to be outstanding, you have to stand out, stand out of normal routinewhich other people consider the only way to success. but dad’s words went in one ear and out the other! i had no idea whether dadwas right or wrong until the day i found i was no longer myself. i put myself in ajar full of people. i work when they work, i panic when they panic, and i waste timewhen they waste time. this is no laughing matter but a horrible disaster. afterwards,i kept telling myself: i am a student, and i do what a student should do. this isour unity. but does this mean we have to sacrifice our diversity to save the orderlyimage of unity? not exactly! unity stops us getting into chaos while diversity makeslife colorful.from then on, my long-covered specialty was evoked and set me on a special trackto my dreams.i got back what i had lost. it’s a great feeling that you realize you still havethe ability to surprise yourself: i found a part-time job as an oral-english teacherin a private school. i love english and work joyfully though my major has nothingto do with english at all. i stood out and made a difference. i found “i am whati am, and i am happy to be me.”编号15 姓名孙阳self-confidence is the mother of success as is known to us all, a famous proverb says “failure is the mother ofsuccess”. yes , it’s true. history informs us that stories of success are alsostories of great failure. as a matter of fact. there are many factors that cancontribute to a preson’s success in life. today i will give you a new idea―self-confidence is the mother of success. success is getting up one more time thanyou fall down. but when failures knocks you down. will you have the confidence toget up?so self-confidence is essential to success . self-confidence means the firm belief that you can do things well. it is believedto be the first secret of success. if you want to succeed in doing anything, you musthave confidence in your abilities. and i deeply aware that nothing can defeat a person who full of confidence. self-confidence gives you light when you are in dark, and gives you encouragementwhen you are disappointed. it is self-confidence that inspires you to cope with anyhard task. with self-confidence, you believe that you can and will succeed, and thisgives you the courage to try new things. some people find most of the things impossible, saying, “it is beyond my abilityto do the task.” or “i am not fit for it.” these are only lame excuses. when ourheart is void of self-confidence, every hope is gone, we will always living in themoments of fear and thoughtless. so ladies and gentlemen do you have it in you?
