1Lesson 53Title: My Dream JobThe question of what one wants to be when they grow up is a common conversation starter, often heard from childhood well into adult life. For many, the answer to this question may change over time as interests, skills, and circumstances evolve. However, there are some individuals who have known their dream job from a young age and have pursued it with unwavering determination.I am one of those individuals.Ever since I was a child, I have always wanted to become a veterinarian. Growing up surrounded by animals, I developed a deep love and respect for all creatures big and small. I would spend hours studying animal anatomy, reading books about different species, and volunteering at the local animal shelter. As I grew older, my passion for animals only intensified, solidifying my decision to pursue a career in veterinary medicine. To achieve my dream job, I enrolled in a rigorous veterinary medicine program at a prestigious university. The coursework was challenging, but my determination never wavered. I spent countless hours studying, attending lectures, and gaining hands-on experience in clinics and labs. I learned how to diagnose and treat various ailments in animals, perform surgeries, and provide compassionate care to both pets and their owners. He is too shy to talk to her, but he decides to write a letter to her instead. The letter is full of emotion and longing, expressing his desire to know her and be with her. The young man sends the letter but never hears back from the girl.In my opinion, the young man's decision to write a letter to the girl was brave and romantic. It takes courage to put your feelings into words and reveal them to someone you barely know. Unfortunately, the girl's lack of response may have been disappointing, but it doesn't diminish the young man's gesture.Love and connection are not always reciprocal, and sometimes we have to take risks and put ourselves out there even if there's no guarantee of a positive outcome. The young man's letter may not have led to a relationship with the girl, but itwas a step towards expressing his true feelings and being open to the possibility of love.Overall, I think the young man's decision to write the letter was a meaningful and heartfelt gesture. It shows that love and connection can be found in unexpected places, and sometimes all it takes is a moment of courage to reach out and express your feelings. In conclusion, the lesson teaches us the importance of taking risks and being vulnerable in matters of the heart. Love may not always be reciprocated, but the act of expressing our feelings is a brave and beautiful thing in itself. The young man's letter may not have been answered, but it was a powerful declaration of his emotions and desires.篇3Unfortunately, I can't provide verbatim excerpts from Lesson 53 of New Concept English 2 as it is copyrighted material.

新概念英语第二册课后题答案详解Lesson531. c根据课文第二行… they have been trying to find out how the fire began 能够判断出只有c. wanted to find out what had caused the fire 最能说明消防队员仔细查看地面的原因,其他3个选择都不够全面。

A bird had snatched up the snake from the ground and then dropped it on to the wires… When it Idid so, it sent sparks down to the ground and these immediately started a fire 能够判断只有d. a snake which had been dropped on to the wires by a bird 与课文的实际内容相符,只有它是引起火灾的原因,其他3个选择都不符合课文的实际内容。

3. a只有a. since最合乎题目意思和语法。

a. is causing 是实行时,b. has caused 是完成时,d. is caused by 是现在时被动语态,而本句需要主动语态。

最符合语法,所以选c.5. ca. almost certain(几乎肯定),b. fairly certain(相当肯定),c. completely certain(完全肯定),d. nearly certain(几乎肯定)4个选择中只有c. 同前一句中的quite sure(十分确信)意义最接近,所以选c.6. c只有c. succeeded in solving it (成功解决了它)同前一句中的 was able to solve the mystery (解开了这个谜)的含义相同,所以c.
