城市化英语作文篇一:城市化的负面影响(英文演讲稿)The negative effects of urbanizationThere are many advantages of urbanization. However, there are also many disadvantages of urbanization. The negative influence on the environment.Water pollutionUrban water pollution is mainly caused by industrial waste water and domestic sewage.[d??mestik ?su:?d?]生活污水。

Please look at the picture on the top right. From 2006 to 2012the number of domestic sewage becomes bigger and bigger. And the number of industrial waste water remain stable. But the total amount is increasing.Look at the picture on the lower right. We can see that the ability of treating the urban waste water have improved year by year. But,compared with the increase of the number of urban waste water, the ability of treating polluted water haven’t improved.Air pollutionNowadays, haze weather has become a daily one in large part of China. With the development of urbanization, the number of cars inchina are growing rapidly.Besides China is a coal-based energy structure.Vehicle [?vi:h?kl] exhaust and coal firing seriously pollute the air.The negative influence on the society.Noise pollution. In the city,we'll be disturbed [d??st?:rbd] by jet airplanes, car horns ['h?:nz] , oil-powered engines, the noise from building sites and so on.The noise makes us upset and reduce the quality of our life.Traffic jamWith the fast development of our economy and living standard ,the number of vehicles is rising sharply. However, the road condition needs improving. It has seriously influenced people's daily life and economic development.Bad influence on agricultural development. Many farmers go to cities to work, and many of them have abandoned agriculture. It’s bad for agricultural development.Social conflictsIn the process of building a city, many houses will be pulled down.In the process, there are many contradictions[k?ntr?'d?k?nz]矛盾between people and local government. What’s more, there are also lots of conflicts betweenmigrant [?ma?ɡr?nt] workersand developers. For example, the contradiction of wages ['we?d??z].篇二:[英语]城市化的影响The influences of fast urbanizationNowadays, the urbanization is at a fast pace in our country. It is common to see numerous people thronging into big cities and lots of skyscrapers being built every day. The main reason for this phenomenon is the urgent need of a prosperous society by almost all civilians.Undoubtedly, the fast urbanization has brought great influences on people’s daily life. On the one hand, it has provided much convenience to people in the modern society. In recent years, the condition of people’s studying, working and living has been improved rapidly. Therefore, a great number of people have currently lived a relatively comfortable life in big cities. Thanks to the urbanization, it is estimated that the level of welfare and the sense of happiness of citizens has respectively risen by 40% and 50% since the implement of the reform and opening-up policy. However, on the other hand, there are also many negative effects concerning the fast urbanization. Firstly, with more and more people being appealed to throng into big cities, they have to be faced with much more pressure with regard to living and searching jobs thanpreviously.Secondly, the traffic problem has become so severe that the efficiency of people’s working and studying has been lowered dramatically. What’s more, there are millions of cars running on the streets and tons of factories opening every day, which has led to inevitable and damaging pollution to almost everything on earth, ourhuman beings involved. From my point of view, it is reasonable for us to speed up the urbanization in order to keep pace with other developed countries. But it is worth noticing that we cannot ignore the contradiction between the growing desires and the limited resources and the balance between the nature and our human beings. After all, everything has its limits, and it’s not good to go too far. To conclude, we will surely embrace a prosperous and stable society as long as the urbanization is at a proper speed.篇三:0英语作文城镇化Urbanization should be people-orientedThe so-called urbanization is the process that people comes from countryside transforms to the urban people. The essence of urbanization is citizenization of migrant workers. Urbanization has a tremendous and profound impact on economy, society and culture. The rate of china’s urbanization was about 20 percent in thebeginning of reform and open and the official figures indicated that rate of urbanization in china has exceeded 50 percent last year. For a long time, this low- cost urbanization has lead that a large number of migrant workers can’t enjoy the treatment same as citizen. At the same time, they can’t go back to the hometown. The third plenary session of twelve has clearly presented that we must perfect the system of urbanization. It is said the quality of urbanization should be comprehensively improved so that more migrant workers can enjoy equal public service and get more development opportunity.Due to the limitation of objective and subjective reasons, we can find that some issues involved in all aspects of the economy, society, resources and environment have exposed throughout the process of urbanization in china. And we must maintain keen vigilance to them because they may lead that policies of government can’t be enforced. These issues are mainly in three aspects following. Firstly, some areas prefer the urbanization of land to people. Thus peasantries’lands are compulsory acquisition and their interests are occupied. Secondly, urbanization has been kidnapped by real estate in china. Buildings become the leading actor in the urbanization. Thirdly, government pays more attention to build thecity and ignores the management of the city. So in most case, the cities are magnificent and it doesn’t benefits the local people. At the same time, it is unbalance between big and middle cities development. The counties near peasant lost the leading role in the urbanization. The essence of urbanization in reality is real estate now. It seems like the migrant workers have come into the city. The reality is that people not only lost the land and ways to live, but also doesn’t get the welfare which the citizen have yet. They often have enough money to buy commercial residential building. And the education, medical treatment and even minimum living allowance also have nothing with them. When the urbanization sacrifices the benefits of rural regions and peasants, it is opposite to original intention of urbanization. The city is the engine of growth. This engine depends on the hands of marketing and government jointly. Urban development has its own inherent laws. It is proved that we will pay the price if we violate this law.It is essential to have a deep understanding of the long-term, arduous and complex nature of urbanization in developing country whose population has accounted for nearly 1 /5 of world. Therefore, urbanization in china should be people-oriented andaim to deliver equitable benefits to all. Even though there are many issues exited now, the government must pursue urbanization in an innovative way to make sure that people can enjoy modern and civilized way of life and promote social harmony and progress. China should build harmonious and livable modern cities, promote rural migrant population's integration into cities, deliver equal basic public services, including employment, education, medical care and health and social security. To avoid real estate leading the urbanization, government should give priority to building government subsidized housing. All these steps should be taken to ensure that development benefits and urban civilization are enjoyed by all.。

城市化对地理环境的影响英语作文

城市化对地理环境的影响英语作文The Ever-Growing Cities and Their Impact on Our WorldHave you ever looked out the window of a moving car and noticed how quickly the scenery changes from open fields and forests to tall buildings and busy streets? That's what happens when cities keep growing bigger and bigger – a process called urbanization. As more and more people move from rural areas to cities, these cities expand to make room for all the new residents. While urbanization brings some advantages like better job opportunities and access to services, it can also have a significant impact on the natural environment around us.Imagine a vast, open field with wildflowers blooming and butterflies fluttering about. Now picture that same field covered in concrete roads, tall apartment buildings, and shopping malls. That's exactly what happens when cities grow outwards – they take over natural areas like forests, grasslands, and wetlands. As these natural habitats disappear, the plants and animals that live there have nowhere to go, and many species end up losing their homes. One of the most significant effects of urbanization is the loss of biodiversity. Biodiversity refers to the variety of living things inan area, including different species of plants, animals, fungi, and microorganisms. When cities expand and destroy natural habitats, many species can no longer survive in those areas. For example, if a city builds over a forest, the deer, squirrels, birds, and insects that lived in that forest might have to move elsewhere or face extinction. But it's not just the plants and animals that are affected. Urbanization can also have a major impact on water resources. As cities grow, they need more water for drinking, bathing, and other purposes. This increased demand for water can lead to the overexploitation of groundwater sources, causing water tables to drop and affecting the availability of water for both humans and wildlife.Furthermore, urbanization can contribute to water pollution. When rainwater falls on cities, it picks up pollutants like oil, chemicals, and litter from the streets and sidewalks. This contaminated water, called runoff, often ends up in nearby rivers, lakes, and oceans, harming the aquatic life and making the water unsafe for drinking or recreational activities.Air quality is another area that can suffer from urbanization. Cities are often home to many vehicles, factories, and power plants, all of which release pollutants into the air. Thesepollutants, such as carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides, and particulate matter, can cause respiratory problems for people and contribute to the formation of smog, which can be harmful to both humans and the environment.Urbanization can also lead to an increase in waste generation. As more people live in cities, they produce more trash, which needs to be properly managed and disposed of. If not handled correctly, this waste can end up in landfills or leak into the environment, contaminating soil and water sources.Despite these challenges, there are ways to make urbanization more sustainable and reduce its negative impact on the environment. One approach is to promote urban planning that incorporates green spaces, such as parks and gardens, within cities. These green spaces not only provide recreational areas for city dwellers but also help to preserve biodiversity by offering habitats for various species of plants and animals.Another solution is to encourage the use of public transportation, carpooling, and cycling. By reducing the number of individual vehicles on the road, cities can lower their carbon emissions and improve air quality. Additionally, cities can invest in renewable energy sources like solar and wind power, which produce far fewer emissions than traditional fossil fuels.Efficient waste management systems are also crucial for mitigating the environmental impact of urbanization. Cities can implement recycling programs, composting initiatives, and proper disposal methods for hazardous materials to reduce the amount of waste ending up in landfills or the environment.Ultimately, urbanization is a complex process with both positive and negative consequences. While it offers opportunities for economic growth and improved access to services, it can also have a significant impact on the natural environment. By being aware of these impacts and implementing sustainable practices, we can strive to create cities that coexist harmoniously with the world around us.Remember, we all share this planet, and it's up to us to take care of it. Even small actions, like reducing our individual waste, conserving water, and supporting eco-friendly initiatives, can make a big difference in protecting our environment for future generations.。

In my opinion, I am convincedthat we can not only develop urbanization, but protect our environment. It is a common sense that development of urbanization can bringus benefits, such as wealth and technology. only in this way can our living quality promoted. For instance, many equipments and machines are the outcome of technology by developing urbanization. In addition, the situation that there are a large amount of people who own cars in recent year, which makes local residents' life more convenient. The economy improves quickly and we become wealthier just because of city development. People can accomplish business with each other without face to face, which promotes the efficiency for traders by development of technology. When the holiday coming, many people will travel to other famous place to relax by planes or trains, which isthe result of urbanization. It provides convenience and relaxation to people and make people's life fill with various entertainment. It might be better to reach a certain level of urbanization before the high GDP growth associated with the increase of the share of tertiary industry( Makoto Chikaraishi, 2013). 城市化造成的影响英语作文

城市化造成的影响英语作文

城市化造成的影响英语作文Urbanization is the process of population concentration in urban areas, leading to the growth of cities and towns. While urbanization brings about economic development and improved living standards, it also has various impacts on the environment, society, and economy. One of the most significant impacts of urbanization is increased air and water pollution. The rapid development of industries and transportation in urban areas results in higher levels of pollution, affecting the health of residents and the ecosystem. Efforts to reduce pollution through sustainable practices and green technologies are crucial in mitigating these impacts.Urbanization also leads to the loss of natural habitats and biodiversity. As cities expand, forests, wetlands, and other natural areas are often converted into residential or commercial zones, disrupting ecosystems and threatening wildlife. Conservation efforts and urban planning that prioritize green spaces are essential in preserving biodiversity in urban areas.Furthermore, urbanization can exacerbate social inequalities and create challenges such as inadequatehousing, traffic congestion, and social isolation. Providing affordable housing, improving public transportation, and promoting community engagement are important strategies to address these social impacts of urbanization. In conclusion, while urbanization brings about economic growth and opportunities, it is essential to manage its impacts on the environment, society, and economy effectively. Sustainable urban planning, environmental protection measures, and social welfare programs are key to creating livable and sustainable cities for the future.中文翻译:城市化是人口集中在城市地区的过程,导致城市和镇市的增长。

城市化对地理环境的影响英语作文

城市化对地理环境的影响英语作文

城市化对地理环境的影响英语作文全文共5篇示例,供读者参考篇1The Big Changes Happening in Our CitiesHi friends! Today I want to talk to you about something that's happening all around us - cities are getting bigger and bigger. This is called urbanization. While it's cool to have lots of tall buildings and fun places in cities, urbanization can also cause some problems for the environment. Let me explain what I mean.In the olden days, there were way fewer people living in cities. Most people lived in small towns or on farms out in the countryside. But these days, more and more people are moving from the country into the cities to find jobs and opportunities. Cities keep having to build more houses, offices, roads, and shops to fit everyone in. This means tearing down trees and green spaces to make room. When there are fewer trees and plants, it's not just the animals that get impacted. We humans are affected too! Plants are so important because they make the oxygen that we breathe. With fewer plants around, the air quality in cities gets worse. Itcan get hard to breathe easily, especially for kids with asthma or other breathing problems.Another big issue is that urbanization creates more trash and pollution. Think about how many people live packed together in a city. That's a whole lot of people making trash every single day from food wrappers, plastic bottles, old toys and clothes, and so on. A lot of that trash doesn't get recycled properly and ends up sitting in landfills or littered on the streets. The cars, trucks, and buses in cities also create a ton of pollution from the fumes coming out of their exhaust pipes. This pollution gets trapped in the air we breathe. Yuck! Can you imagine having to breathe in dirty air every day? Cities also produce a lot of light pollution at night from all the bright lights and billboards. This can confuse animals and disrupt their normal behaviors.Urbanization requires a massive amount of energy too. Running all those tall office buildings, homes, stores, traffic lights, and factories takes a huge amount of electricity, gas, and other power sources like coal. Making all that energy also creates pollution that's bad for the environment. But it's not all bad news! There are some really smart people working hard to make cities more environmentally-friendly andsustainable. For example, city planners are trying to include more green spaces like parks and community gardens. Plants can be grown on roof tops or along the sides of buildings. Walking paths and bike lanes encourage people to drive less. Recycling programs help cut down on the trash problem.Scientists are also developing really cool clean energy sources like solar panels, wind turbines, and hydropower systems. If we can power our cities with those instead of dirty fossil fuels, it would make a huge difference for the environment. Some cities are even working on ways to turn our food waste into renewable energy sources. How neat is that?At school, we're learning all about the three R's - reducing our waste, reusing items when we can, and recycling everything possible. We've set up big blue recycling bins in our classrooms and cafeteria. We also have a little garden in the courtyard where we grow veggies and learn about composting. It's so much fun!At home, my family is doing our part too. We try to bike, walk, or take the bus instead of driving as much as possible. We've switched to LED light bulbs that use way less electricity. And we always bring reusable shopping bags to the grocery store instead of using plastic ones. Every little bit helps!I hope cities can keep finding more and more innovative ways to growth while still protecting our planet's health. Because at the end of the day, this is the only Earth we've got. We've all got to take good care of it together. So next time you visit a city, keep an eye out for the environmental impacts of urbanization. And more importantly, look for all the super cool ways that city is working to create a greener, cleaner, more sustainable place for everyone. Our future is in good hands as long as we keep learning and doing our part!篇2The City is Growing! How it Changes the EarthHi, my name is Jamie and I'm going to tell you all about how cities get bigger and what that means for the world around us. This is something called urbanization.Urbanization happens when more and more people move from the countryside into cities. Cities grow outward, taking over land that used to be farms, forests, or natural areas. My big sister says half the world's people live in cities now! That's a lot of people packed together. When a new suburb or housing development goes up, that means trees and plants get cut down. The soil gets covered overwith concrete for roads, parking lots, and foundations for buildings. Streams and ponds might get filled in too. This destroys the homes for lots of critters like rabbits, birds, insects and fish. They have to go try to live somewhere else.My teacher says urbanization causes loss of habitat, which makes it hard for animals and plants to survive. We're taking away the places they need to find food, water, shelter and raise their babies. Some of them go extinct, which means there are none of that type of animal or plant left on Earth anymore. But it's not just critters that get affected - us humans feel impacts too from the changing landscape. See, plants and trees do an important job of absorbing carbon dioxide from the air. Carbon dioxide is a greenhouse gas that traps heat in the atmosphere. The more that gets trapped, the hotter the Earth gets - we call this global warming. When forests and green spaces get bulldozed to put up new neighborhoods and shopping malls, there are fewer plants around to suck up that carbon dioxide. Plus, burning fuels from extra cars and trucks in the bigger city area puts even more greenhouse gases into the air. No wonder it's getting so hot lately!Cities also need a lot of water for everyone to take showers, flush toilets, wash dishes, and water lawns. Sometimes they have to pipe the water in from far away, or build dams on rivers to store the water. This affects waterways and the animals that depend on them.Another issue is that cities produce a ton of trash and pollutants. Think of all the garbage your family puts out in just one week - now multiply that by every single household in a huge city. Where does it all go? Landfills leak gross chemicals called leachates that can contaminate the soil and groundwater.Factories and powerplants have smokestacks that release air pollution too. The smog from cars and trucks doesn't help either. Dirty air is bad for our lungs and can make people sick, especially kids with asthma like me.And we haven't even talked about noise pollution yet! Cities are loud places with construction, jackhammers, horns honking, planes flying overhead. Too much noise can increase stress levels and even cause hearing damage over time.Of course, urbanization isn't all bad. Cities offer jobs, opportunities, entertainment, and convenient amenities like schools, hospitals and shopping all clustered together. Lots ofpeople want that city lifestyle. My parents say it's a trade-off between economic development and environmental costs. But I wonder, is there a way to grow smarter? Maybe by improving public transportation so there are fewer cars on the road? Or designing "green" buildings that use less energy and water? Planting more trees to help clean the air? There's a lot of research happening on sustainable urban planning. As the world's population keeps increasing, more urbanization is probably going to happen whether we like it or not. But I think it's important to try our best to plan cities carefully and protect natural areas as much as we can. The plants, animals, air, water and soil are all invaluable resources that every living thing needs to survive. We're all part of the same big ecosystem. By keeping human impacts in mind, we can figure out ways to keep growing and developing while treading a little lighter on the Earth. It's the only home we've got after all! What do you think?篇3The Big Changes in Our CitiesCities are getting bigger and bigger all over the world. More and more people are moving from small towns and thecountryside into large cities. This is called urbanization. While cities offer lots of jobs and opportunities, all these people crowding into cities is causing some big changes to the environment around us. Let me tell you about some of those changes!First, cities need a lot of space for all the homes, offices, stores, and other buildings for people to live and work in. To make room, we have to clear away forests, fields, and farms that were there before. Cutting down all those trees and plants means there is less greenery in cities. It's harder for critters like birds, squirrels, and rabbits to find places to live. Their natural homes get replaced by concrete and steel!Speaking of concrete, that's another big change cities bring. To build all those roads, sidewalks, parking lots, and building foundations, we need concrete. Lots and lots of concrete. All that concrete covers up the soil underneath. The soil can't soak up rainwater as easily, so cities have problems with flooding when it rains heavily. The water has nowhere to go!Another issue is air pollution. With so many cars, buses, and trucks crowded into cities, they release a lot of smog and fumes into the air we breathe. Factories and power plants in cities also pump out smoke and chemicals. Too much air pollution is badfor our lungs and can make people sick. It's not good for animals either.Don't forget about noise pollution too! Cities are real noisy places with all the vehicle traffic, construction, alarms, and machinery running. Buzz, beep, honk, rattle, rumble - it never ends! Too much noise can be stressful and make it hard to sleep. Birds and other wildlife have trouble communicating over all that racket.Water pollution is a problem as well. Storm drains in cities collect plenty of garbage, oil, chemicals, and dog poop which all gets washed out into nearby rivers, lakes and the ocean. Yuck! This makes the water unhealthy for fish, plants, and other creatures that live there. We have to work hard to clean up our waterways. With all the people and buildings jammed into a city, we generate篇4The Big Changes That Cities Bring to the EarthCities are really big places with lots of people, cars, and tall buildings all packed together. More and more people are moving from small towns and the countryside into these hugecities. This is called urbanization - it's when cities keep growing bigger and bigger. All those people moving into cities is causing some major changes to the environment and the land around the cities. Let me tell you about some of the biggest changes that happen when areas become more urbanized. One of the first things that happens is that natural landscapes get replaced by man-made structures. Forests, fields, and farms have to get cut down and paved over to make room for roads, houses, malls, offices, and parking lots. This means less green, open space and habitat for plants and animals to live.In my city, there used to be a really pretty meadow with wildflowers and rabbits just a few blocks from my house. But they knocked it all down last year to build a huge condo complex with apartments, stores, and a parking garage. No more meadow - just concrete as far as the eye can see! It made me really sad to see that transformation.Another major impact is increased pollution and waste. Think about all the trash, sewage, and emissions from vehicles and factories that cities generate every single day. It has to go somewhere! A lot of it ends up contaminating the soil, air, and water sources around urban areas. My friend's dad is a garbageman and he says the landfills outside the city are getting so full, they may have to start shipping our trash to other states soon. Plus, the smog from all the cars and smokestacks making the air hazy and hard to breathe sometimes. No wonder my mom says city air is "a lot less fresh" than in the country.Urbanization also messes with the natural water cycle in an area. With more pavement and buildings, very little rainwater is able to soak into the ground. Instead it has to go into man-made drainage systems like sewers and pipes that funnel it elsewhere. This runoff water picks up a lot of pollution along the way before draining into rivers, lakes, and oceans. And with fewer trees and plants in cities to help absorb rainwater, urban areas become much more prone to flash flooding after heavy storms. My uncle lives downtown and had his basement flooded twice last year when the drains backed up from too much runoff. Yuck!Another really concerning effect of urban growth is the urban heat island effect. All the concrete, asphalt, and industrial activities in cities absorb a ton of heat from the sun during the day and then slowly release it at night. This makes urban areas way hotter than the surrounding rural suburbs and countryside.Have you ever noticed how furnace-like it feels walking around downtown on a summer day versus being in a park or backyard? Major cities can be up to 10°F hotter than the areas just outside the city limits! That's why we try to go on camping trips outside the city when we want to cool off in the summer months. So those are some of the biggest ways that urbanization changes the geographic landscape and ecological cycles of an area. It transforms natural habitats, increases pollution and waste, disrupts the water cycle, causes flooding issues, and creates urban heat islands. A lot of environmental experts are really worried about the impacts as more of the world's population moves into major cities.I'm just a kid, but even I can see how important it is for city planners and leaders to figure out ways to reduce these negative effects of urbanization. Maybe they can preserve more green spaces, use recycled materials, install more drainage systems, and plant tons of trees and gardens to absorb heat and rains. It would go a long way to making cities better for both people and the environment.Hopefully, as I grow up, the adults will get smarter about developing cities in a more sustainable, eco-friendly way. We'vegot to find the right balance between urbanization and protecting the geographic environment that we all depend upon. This planet is the only home we've got – we've got to take good care of it for our own survival! The end.篇5The Big City Boom and Nature's GloomHi there! My name is Jamie and I'm going to tell you all about how cities are growing like crazy and what that means for the trees, animals, and Planet Earth. You see, more and more people are moving from small towns and villages into huge cities with skyscrapers that touch the clouds. While living in a big city can be really cool with lots of stores, restaurants, and fun things to do, it also means we're taking away spaces where plants and critters used to live. When a new shopping mall or apartment building gets built, that means trees and bushes have to get chopped down. Those trees were homes for squirrels, birds, insects and other wildlife. With their homes destroyed and no place to live, those animals have to go somewhere else or they might even die off. That's no good! Every plant and animal is important for keeping nature balanced.Building cities also means paving over the soil with concrete and asphalt for roads, parking lots and sidewalks. But soil is important because it's what helps plants grow big and strong. If too much soil gets covered up, plants won't be able to take root and get the water and nutrients they need. No plants means the animals that depend on them for food and shelter are out of luck too. It's a vicious cycle!Another big problem caused by cities getting bigger is pollution. Burning fuels for energy from power plants, factories, and vehicles like cars creates icky smog that dirties up the air we breathe. It also releases greenhouse gases that contribute to climate change and global warming. Warmer temperatures melt ice caps and glaciers, causing sea levels to rise and endangering coastal cities and habitats.Too much litter and waste from households and businesses in crowded cities can pollute rivers, lakes and oceans if not properly disposed of. Plastics and other trash can harm fish, turtles, dolphins, whales and other marine life if they accidentally eat it or get tangled up in it. Yuck! With more people moving into booming cities, water usage goes up a lot too. People need water for drinking, bathing, washing clothes, watering gardens and plants, and more. If toomuch water gets used up from lakes, rivers and underground sources, it can damage ecosystems by drying them up faster than they can replenish naturally. That's bad news for all the creatures who live there! So as you can see, as cities rapidly grow bigger, expand outwards, and pack in more people, it takes a major toll on the environment around them. Trees, soil, air, water - all those things that nature depends on can get poisoned, destroyed, or used up faster than normal. And where does that leave the millions of species of plants and animals? In a pretty tough spot. Now don't get me wrong, cities are amazing marvels of human engineering and technology. I'm proud of how innovative our architects, construction workers and urban planners are. And cities offer tons of job opportunities, entertainment, arts, culture, education and healthcare that you can't really get in rural areas. We just need to be smarter about how we build and manage cities to make them more eco-friendly and sustainable. Some cool ideas I've heard about are:-Building "green" skyscrapers covered in plants and trees to increase natural spaces-Installing solar panels, wind turbines and other renewable energy sources to cut emissions-Improving public transportation like buses, trains and bike lanes so fewer cars clog the roads-Requiring buildings to catch and re-use rainwater for plumbing and irrigation-Creating more parks, community gardens and wildlife preserves within city limits-Enforcing tougher recycling and fining people for littering to reduce waste-Using sustainable building materials like bamboo instead of cutting down treesIf we get smarter about how we build, power and live in major cities, we can have amazing urban spaces for people and nature to thrive together! It will take some hard work and cooperation between city planners, businesses, and us regular citizens, but I know we've got what it takes. Every little bit helps in making cities cleaner, greener and less harmful to our beloved animals and the outdoors we all enjoy.Well that's my two cents on the whole urbanization thing! I hope you learned something new about how city growthimpacts our planet and what we can do about it. Now if you'll excuse me, I've got a tree to go hug...just kidding! Thanks for reading my essay, bye!。

城市化造成的污染 Pollution due to Urbanisation 英语作文

Pollution due to Urbanisation Pollution is a problem that has become more and more pressing over the last few decades. There are different kinds of pollution, which are air pollution, noise pollution, water pollution, and soil pollution, all of which are incredibly harmful to the environment. These refer to contamination of the air by fumes or unwanted noise, contamination of water bodies and that of land, respectively. It is needless to say that these are rigid examples of pollution due to urbanisation.Long and Short Essays on Pollution due to Urbanisation for Children and Kids in EnglishRead below to find two essays about pollution due to urbanisation. The first essay is a long essay of 500 words, and the second is a short essay of 200 words. The former is suitable for class 7-10 students as well as for those aspiring for competitive exams. The latter essay is ideal for kids of class 6 and below.Long Essay on Pollution due to Urbanisation 500 words in EnglishBelow we have given a long essay about pollution due to urbanisation 500 words and is suitable for students of class 7 to 10, and also for competitive exam aspirants.Pollution has been a long-standing problem in our world for a few decades now. It is something that poses harm to the environment, and also to us humans as a result of that. Pollution refers to when there are contaminants that pose harm to the environment, and there are four main types of it. Air pollution refers to the harmful and toxic fumes in the air produced by vehicles, factories, smoking, etc. Water pollution refers to the contamination of water bodies by toxic substances, plastic, oil spills, etc. Soil or land pollution refers to the wastage we leave on the land, and also toxic substances that seep into the soil and ruin its fertility. Noise pollution refersto unwanted and unpleasant noises; all the types of pollution are incredibly detrimental to the planet.Urbanisation refers to the concept of rural towns and villages developing into urbanised towns and cities. Urban localities are characterised by having good infrastructure and prevalence of industry, both of which are almost undoubtedly linked to each other. A lot of venture capitalists and multinational corporations select smaller, rural towns to start manufacturing businesses because the factors of production most often come cheaper there. This means that the rent islower, labour costs less, etc. thus, it makes for a convenient place to open up good-manufacturing factories there. >Urbanization has demerits more than merits. When a factory opens in a rural area, it paves the way for the people living in and around the area to avail employment there. Since there will be many raw material trucks coming in and goods trucks leaving from the factory site, there is a requirement for paved roads. More and more facilities and infrastructure come up around the lands surrounding the factory, resulting in the development of the area. Thisprocess is called urbanisation, and it is important to know about so you can understand how pollution due to urbanisation takes place.Where there is a factory, while a lot of infrastructure and development follows it, there is also a lot of waste produced there. Many factories may not follow the correct procedure for the disposal of waste, which can be dangerous as factory waste can sometimes be toxic. This toxic waste seeps into neighbouring soil, close-by water bodies, and poisonous fumes from the factories into the air. Aside from these forms of pollution, factories can also benoisy due to the machinery used inside. Thus it causes all four types of pollution. In this way, industries produce air, water, noise, and soil pollution due to urbanisation. While pollution on its own is a pressing problem for our world, pollution due to urbanisation is a huge problem. Adding to that, it is becoming a bigger and bigger problem as urbanisation is taking over even the smallest areas. Yes, development is something to applaud, but not when it goes to the extent of causing harm to or destroying the environment.Short Essay on Pollution due to Urbanisation 200 words in EnglishBelow we have given a short essay about pollution due to urbanisation of 200 words. This long essay on the topic is suitable for students of class 6 and below.Pollution is a severe problem in today’s world. There are four kinds of pollution (air, water, soil and noise pollution) and they are all dangerous. When there are unwanted objects, smells or anything like that in the air, water, or soil, they are called pollutants. Some examples ofpollutants are plastic in oceans, smoke in the air from vehicles, etc. When industries decide to make factories in rural areas like villages and small towns, they also build good roads and other proper buildings around the factory. This is so that people can do work in factories with ease. When industries do this, it is called urbanisation. Many small towns have become big centres of development and factory work. The bad part about urbanisation is that the factories which create a lot of pollutants. They release smoke into the air, harmful waste intowater streams and surrounding land, and also make a lot of noise because of their machines. Thus there is a lot of pollution due to urbanisation, and it is very harmful to the environment when urbanisation starts.Urbanisation is the cause of most of the pollution that there is our environment. It is because factories are everywhere, there are many more vehicles on the roads now, etc.10 Lines on Pollution due to Urbanisation Essay in EnglishPollution refers to when any of our surroundings have contaminants, toxins, pollutants and harmful substances. There are four types of pollution, namely, air, water, soil, and noise pollution, which you find in those places, respectively.Air pollution refers to when there are contaminants such as smoke, smells, fumes from vehicles, etc. in the air, which may even make it hard for us to breathe.Water pollution refers to when there are unwanted substances in Earth’s water bodies, such as plastic, toxic chemicals from industries, oil from oil spills, etc. This is harmful to aquatic life, and also for the other life, including humans’ who drink this water.Soil pollution refers to when toxins seep into the land or soil because of factory waste, untreated garbage and sewage, etc.Noise pollution refers to when there are unwanted and disturbing noises, such as the sound of blaring horns in traffic, the loud whirring of machinery, etc.Urbanisation brings infrastructure and employment opportunities, among various other forms of development.Factories and industries do more harm to the environment than good for the people.Factories let untreated waste into water streams and surrounding land sometimes, which causes soil and water pollution due to urbanisation. They also release toxic fumes into the air and jarring noises due to the heavy machinery, which is also pollution. While development is a good thing as it brings in opportunities for thousands of people, it is not worth it if it causes uncontrollable levels of pollution which are highly detrimental to the environment.FAQ’s on Pollution due to Urbanisation EssayQuestion 1.What does it mean by urbanisation?Answer:Urbanisation refers to the concept of a rural area becoming developed as factories, goodroads, good schools, etc. are built there. 高中生英语作文《城市化对环境的影响》【中英文版】Urbanization and Its Impact on the EnvironmentUrbanization, the process of population shift from rural to urban areas, has been an ongoing global phenomenon over the past few centuries. As cities expand and grow, they bring about significant changes to the environment. The impact of urbanization on the environment is a topic of great concern, as it affects not only the current generation but also future ones. One of the most obvious effects of urbanization on the environment is the destruction of natural habitats. As land is converted for urban use, forests, wetlands, and other natural areas are often cleared, displacing wildlife and disrupting ecosystems. This loss of biodiversity can have far-reaching consequences for the overall health of the environment, including the loss of important ecological services such as water purification and carbon sequestration.Another significant impact of urbanization is the increase in pollution. As cities grow, they become home to more vehicles, industries, and factories, which in turn emit more pollutants into the air, water, and soil.Air pollution, in particular, has become a major concern in many urban areas, with studies linking it to a host of health problems, including respiratory and cardiovascular diseases.Urbanization also leads to increased consumption of resources. As people move to cities, their lifestyle often becomes more consume-oriented, leading to higher demand for energy, water, food, and other resources. This increased consumption puts a strain on the environment, as it often leads to overexploitation of natural resources and increased waste generation.Furthermore, urbanization contributes to climate change. The concentration of people and infrastructure in cities leads to increased energy consumption, which in turn contributes to greenhouse gas emissions.Additionally, urban areas often have less green space, which means they have less capacity to absorb and store carbon dioxide, a major greenhouse gas.In conclusion, urbanization has a significant impact on the environment, affecting natural habitats, increasing pollution, and contributing to climate change. It is crucial that we find ways to manage urbanization in a sustainable manner, incorporating green spaces, promoting public transportation, and adopting environmentally friendly practices.Only through such measures can we hope to mitigate the negative environmental impacts of urbanization and create cities that are healthy and sustainable for current and future generations.。

城市环境污染英语作文In the heart of modern civilization, cities have become hubsof economic activity and cultural exchange. However, thisrapid urbanization has come at a cost, with environmental pollution emerging as a significant issue. The air, water, and soil in urban areas are increasingly being affected bythe waste produced by industries, vehicles, and human activities.Air pollution is one of the most visible forms of environmental degradation in cities. The skies that were once clear and blue are now obscured by a haze of smog, a mixtureof smoke and fog. This is primarily due to the emissions from factories, power plants, and vehicles. The high levels of particulate matter, nitrogen oxides, and sulfur dioxide pose serious health risks, including respiratory problems and cardiovascular diseases.Water pollution is another critical concern. Rivers and lakes that were once sources of fresh water are now contaminatedwith industrial effluents and sewage. This not only affectsthe quality of drinking water but also harms aquatic life and disrupts the ecosystem. The dumping of chemical waste into water bodies has led to the proliferation of toxic substances, which can enter the food chain and pose a threat to human health.Soil pollution is often less visible but equally damaging. The excessive use of pesticides and fertilizers in urban agriculture, along with the accumulation of waste in landfills, has led to the contamination of soil. This can lead to the depletion of nutrients and the presence of harmful substances in the soil, which in turn affects the growth of plants and the quality of the food produced. To combat urban environmental pollution, a multi-faceted approach is necessary. Governments must enforce stricter regulations on industries and vehicles to reduce emissions. Public transportation systems should be improved to reduce the reliance on private vehicles. Recycling programs should be promoted to manage waste more effectively. Additionally, public awareness campaigns can educate citizens about the importance of environmental conservation and the steps they can take to reduce pollution. In conclusion, urban environmental pollution is a complex issue that requires the collective effort of governments, industries, and individuals. By taking proactive measures, we can work towards cleaner cities that are not only economically vibrant but also environmentally sustainable.。

Urbanization and Environmental ProtectionNowadays, the problem of environment is becoming increasingly serious in the society because of urbanization development. Therefore there are many people believe that we have to stop developing urbanization to prevent from environment keep becoming worse, while others think we can not do that because our society need to develop so that we can live in a better way. In my opinion, I am convinced that we can not only develop urbanization, but protect our environment. It is a common sense that development of urbanization can bring us benefits, such as wealth and technology. only in this way can our living quality promoted. When the holiday coming, many people will travel to other famous place to relax by planes or trains, which is the result of urbanization. It provides convenience and relaxation to people and make people's life fill with various entertainment. It might be better to reach a certain level of urbanization before the high GDP growth associated with the increase of the share of tertiary industry( Makoto Chikaraishi, 2013). If we hinder the development of urbanization on purpose, our daily life will become inconvenient and boring without these advanced products. On the other hand, environmental pollution, such as wastewater and exhaust gas, is the matter of necessity of urbanization. It is obvious that industry can result in much pollution, which can harm city dwellers'health significantly and cause various illness to them. For example, the factory of producing computers will produce more wastage with producing machines. The wastage can be wastewater discharge or exhaust gas emission, which definitely can lead to pollute environment. The wastewater can pollute the river, which means that it can kill all kinds of animals that live in the river. Exhaust gas not only indicates the gas from factory, but the gas from cars. With the increase numbers of cars in the city, the exhaust gas has became a serious problem. They are the main reason for air pollution, which can result in acid rain and global warming. In power plants and combined heat and power plants, fossil fuel combustion results in emitting to the atmosphere first of all SO 2, NO x, CO, particulate matter, greenhouse gases for instance N 2 O and CO 2 (Eugeniusz Mokrzycki, 2007). It is true that urbanization will harm environment. While, I do believe that we can keep a balance between develop urbanization and protect environment. First, manufacturers should have a strong awareness of protecting environment. It is an effective way to solve problem from the source. If they pay more attention to environment rather than making more profit, they can take some measures to reduce or eliminate the pollution after producing products. What's more, I think governments can do some contribution to environment, which means that they can commit more funds to industries so that they can solve the pollution problems further. Governments can also enact a law that factories have to deal with their wastage in a reasonable and they can check some industries' implementation of the results randomly. I think this system with supervision can be an efficient way to prevent environmental pollution. Increased regulatory attention in controlling pollutants has encouraged the development of water quality trading programs over the past several decades. These trading programs could provide the mechanisms to cost‐effectively achieve water quality objectives (Juliana Corrales,2013). Besides, We can see that starting to implement a policy that drivers can not drive every day but in some special day or time due to their cars' numbers in China, which indicates that governments have already done something meaningful to protect environment. In my opinion, developing urbanization and protecting environment, we can do them both. Urbanization can enrich our life and make our life more convenient, but we can not ignore environment. We have to balance them in a suitable way so that we can promote urbanization and make environment better because environment is important for human's sustainable development.Bibliography:Chikaraishi.
