So young people pay good money to get tattoos removed that teenagers paid good money to get.Middle-aged people rushed to divorce people who young adults rushed to marry. Older adults work hard to lose what middle-aged adults worked hard to gain. On and on and on. The question is, as a psychologist, that fascinates me is, why do we make decisions that our future selves so often regret?

A Young Idler,An Old BeggarAlmost everyone knows the famous Chinese saying:A young idler,an old beggar. Throughout history,we have seen many cases in which this saying has again and again proved to be true.It goes without saying that the youth is the best time of life, during which one's mental and physical states are at their peaks. It takes relatively less time and pains to learn or accept new things in a world full of changes and rapid developments. In addition, one is less likely to be under great pressure from career, family and health problems when young. Therefore,a fresh mind plus enormous energy will ensure success in different aspects of life.Of course,we all know:no pains,no gains. If we don't make every effort to make good use of the advantages youth brings us,it is impossible to achieve any goals. As students,we should now try our best to learn all the subjects well so that we can be well prepared for the challenges that we will face in the future.

And the way I got interested in this was, I noticed in myself, when I was growing up, and until about a few years ago, that I would want to say thank you to someone, I would want to praise them, I would want to take in their praise of me and I'd just stop it. And I asked myself, why? I felt shy, I felt embarrassed. And then my question became, am I the only one who does this? So, I decided to investigate.

It is truly an honor to speak at this prestigious TED event. Tonight, I would like to discuss the importance of embracing change in a rapidly evolving world.

Change is inevitable. Throughout history, we have witnessed countless advancements and breakthroughs that have reshaped our societies and transformed our lives. From the invention of the wheel to the advent of the internet, change has always been a driving force behind progress.

However, it is human nature to resist change. We often find ourselves comfortable in our routines and hesitant to embrace the unknown. But by doing so, we limit our potential and hinder ourgrowth both individually and as a society.

大人能从小孩身上学到什么(邹奇奇)Now, I want to start with a question: When was the last time you were called childish? For kids like me, being called childish can be a frequent occurrence. Every time we make irrational demands, exhibit irresponsible behavior, or display any other signs of being normal American citizens, we are called childish, which really bothers me. After all, take a look at these events: Imperialism and colonization, world wars, George W. Bush. Ask yourself: Who's responsible? Adults.

Now, what have kids done? Well, Anne Frank touched millions with her powerful account of the Holocaust, Ruby Bridges helped end segregation in the United States, and, most recently, Charlie Simpson helped to raise 120,000 pounds for Haiti on his little bike. So, as you can see evidenced by such examples, age has absolutely nothing to do with it. The traits the word childish addresses are seen so often in adults that we should abolish this age-discriminatory word when it comes to criticizing behavior associated with irresponsibility and irrational thinking.

Ted Classic Speech (English Version)Title: Embrace the Challenge, Pursue ExcellenceHello everyone, I feel incredibly honored to stand on this podium and share my experiences and perspectives with all of you. I have gone through many difficulties and setbacks, but it is these experiences that shaped me into who I am today. We all have the desire to pursue excellence, but often, when faced with challenges and adversities, we give up on our dreams. However, the truth is, it isonly through challenging ourselves that we can discover our potential and achieve our goals. My life experiences have taught me that the key to success lies in how we handle challenges and adversities. We cannot avoid difficulties, but instead, we should face them head-on and strive to overcome them. Only when we constantly challenge ourselves and push beyond our comfort zones can we grow and achieve greater success. Each one of us has different talents and passions, but it is only through continuous effort and perseverance that we can turn these potentials into outstanding achievements. We need to clarify our goals and develop reasonable plans and strategies to work towards them.In the face of difficulties, we should mntn an optimistic mindset. Difficulties cannot defeat us; it is only ourselves who can decide whether to give up or not. We should believe in our abilities and persist in pursuing our dreams. Even in the face of flure, we should learn from it and keep moving forward.Lastly, I want to encourage everyone to constantly challenge themselves in the pursuit of excellence. Do not fear flure when faced with difficulties and adversities;instead, believe in your abilities and persevere. Only then can we achieve true success and fulfillment.

Ted

Never ever give upAnd by the way it‟s amusing to me that journalists and people before these attempts often you know ask me,” Well, are you going to go with any boats or any people or anything?” And I‟m thinking, what are they imaging ? That I‟ll just sort ofdo some celestial navigation, and carry a bowie knife in my mouth, and I‟ll hunt fish and skin them alive and eat them, and maybe drag a desalinization plant behind me for fresh water. Yes I have a team. And the team is expert, and the team is courageous, and brimming with innovation and scientific discovery, as it‟s true with any major expedition on the planet. But the journey itself was worthwhile taking. And at this point, by this summer, everybody, scientists, sports scientists, endurance experts, neurologists, my own team, Bonnie said it‟s impossible. It‟s just simply can‟t be done, and Bonnie said to me,”But you‟re going to take the journey, I‟m going to see you through to the end of it, so I‟ll be there.”And now we‟re there.

TED There's more to life than being happy《生活不仅仅是快乐》00:00I used to think the whole purpose of life was pursuing happiness.Everyone said the path to happiness was success,so I searched for that ideal job, that perfect boyfriend, that beautiful apartment. But instead of ever feeling fulfilled,I felt anxious and adrift. And I wasn't alone;my friends--they struggled with this,too.00:28Eventually,I decided to go to graduate school for positive psychology to learn what truly makes people happy. But what I discovered there changed my life. The data showed that chasing happiness can make people unhappy. And what really struck me was this:the suicide rate has been rising around the world, and it recently reached a30-year high in America.Even though life is getting objectively better by nearly every conceivable standard, more people feel hopeless, depressed and alone. There's an emptiness gnawing away at people, and you don't have to be clinically depressed to feel it.Sooner or later, I think we all wonder:Is this all there is?And according to the research, what predicts this despair is not a lack of happiness. It's a lack of something else,a lack of having meaning in life.01:30But that raised some questions for me.Is there more to life than being happy? And what's the 00:00我曾经认为人生的意义便是追寻快乐。

Hello, everyone! Today, I'm here to give a TED talk on the New Participation Regime and Public Participations. I'll introduce the ways to pursue innovation, activate public participation, and the importance of such participation to the public and the democratic system.

There are many ways to pursue innovation, the most important of which is to activate public participation by involving the public in the policy making and implementation. Such participation gives the public a chance to be involved

policies better suited to and compliant with the public's needs and requirements.

matter for the government and authorities, but also for the public. Therefore, such policies are more likely to be accepted by the public, rather than merely adopted by the government.

In addition, public participation not only helps
alleviate social problems, but also helps to remember the public's needs and to build a more perfect democratic society. It is only through public participation that a strong system and voice can be formed to promote sustainable change and to build a more wise society.

Therefore, let us explore the future on the path of
public participation with a positive attitude and action, to change our future and to make our future a better one. Thank you!。
