2) 如果所表示时间的分钟数多于 30，可用“（60分钟 - 分 钟数）+ to +（原钟点数 + 1）”表示，其中 to 是介词， 意思是“差”。如：twenty-five to nine (8:35)。
注：
1) 当分钟数是 15 时，可用名词 quarter （一刻钟）表示。 如：a quarter past eight (8:15)。

英语时间通常用以下两种方法表达：
1. 直接表达法 1) 用基数词 + o’clock来表示整点，注意o’clock须用单数， 可以省略。 如：eight (o'clock) (8:00)。 2) 用基数词按“钟点 + 分钟”的顺序直接写出时间，表 示非整点。如：eight five (8:05)，eight forty (8:40)。
2. 间接表达法 1) 如果分钟数少于30，可用“分钟 + past + 钟点”表示， 其中past是介词，意思是“过”。如：twenty past four (4:20)。
