III. Summary
1 The pursuit of perfection is one kind of yearnings embedded in man’s heart, which motivates us to release our potential.
2 However, improper attitudes towards perfection may be the major source of our misery.
3 High self-expectation and poor self-esteem will constantly bring disappointment and self-condemnation.
4 Objective self-esteem can help us focus more on the task we do, which is the basis of the healthy and wholesome drive to perfection.
5 However inconsequential the task is, the pursuit of perfection may be positive as long as we pay enough attention to the task and strive to master it.
6 In the process to perfection, we are in fact competing with ourselves and finally achieve excellence.

Answer the following questions.
1 What does the author say about “resisting what-is”?
It is futile and we are only hitting our heads against a wall.
2 What is essential in helping us access the world of what-is?
Go beyond or get rid of all emotions, which lead us to various resistance, interpretations, and judgments.
3 Why do we fail to see the world of what-is?
Because we are trapped/mired in our needs, wants and self-centered expectations.
4 What kind of world would we find if we accept everything as it is, neither bad nor good?
We would find the world to be clean, spacious, sunlit, utterly simple, and utterly essential.
5 What attitudes do we hold towards the past and the future in the world of what-is?
There is no conception of them in the land of what-is. We neither want to step faster into the future nor try to change the past.
