We both loved reading fantasy novels and playing soccer after school. It was a great way to get to know someone new.In addition to the conversational practice, we also spent time learning new vocabulary words related to greetings and introductions. Mrs. Smith would introduce a word, give us the definition, and then have us use it in our own sentences. Some of the words we covered included polite, formal, casual, greet, introduce, and pleased to meet you. By the end of the unit, I felt my vocabulary had grown significantly.To assess our progress, Mrs. Smith gave us a written test at the end of the unit. It included multiple choice questions about appropriate ways to greet people in different situations, as well as a short writing prompt where we had to introduce ourselves to a new pen pal. I was proud that I was able to demonstrate my understanding of the material.Overall, I found the first unit of sixth grade English to be both challenging and rewarding. It laid an important foundation for improving my communication skills in English. I look forward to continuing to build on this knowledge as I move through the rest of the school year. With hard work and dedication, I am confident that I can become an even stronger English speaker and writer.。
