Maybe there’s a case of dishonesty where one person lies to another. And then they feel it’s no longer working out anymore. Another reason is that maybe one of the two friends grow too fast and develop too rapidly so he feels that he has outgrow his friend in many ways and he doesn’t know how to be with him anymore. The loss of common language also causes a friendship to break up. (90 words)。

Friendship is an essential part of our lives, and it plays a crucial role in shaping our personalities and providing support during difficult times. The topic of friendship is often discussed in the IELTS speaking test, and it allows candidates to share their personal experiences and insights on this important aspect of human relationships. In this essay, I will explore the topic of friendship from various perspectives, including the qualities of a good friend, the importance of friendship in our lives, and the impact of technology on modern friendships. To begin with, the qualities of a good friend are essential for building and maintaining strong and meaningful relationships. A good friend is someone who is trustworthy, loyal, and supportive. Trust is the foundation of any friendship, and without it, the relationship is likely to falter. A loyal friend stands by your side through thick and thin, and they are always there to offer a helping hand or a listening ear. Support is another crucial quality of a good friend, as they provide encouragement and comfort when you are facing challenges or going through tough times. Additionally, a good friend is also someone who is honest, reliable, and has a sense of humor, making the friendship enjoyable and fulfilling. Furthermore, the importance of friendship in our lives cannot be overstated. Friends play a significant role in our emotional well-being, providing companionship, understanding, and a sense of belonging. They offer a support system that helps us cope with stress, anxiety, and other emotional challenges. Friends also contribute to our personal growth and development by offering different perspectives, sharing experiences, and challenging us to step out of our comfort zones. Moreover, strong friendships can have a positive impact on our physical health, as they can reduce the risk of depression, lower blood pressure, and even increase our lifespan. Overall, friendships enrich our lives and contribute to our overall happiness and well-being. However, the advent of technology has significantly impacted the nature of modern friendships. While technology has made it easier to connect with others and maintain long-distance friendships, it has also led to a decline in the quality of face-to-face interactions. Many people are now more focused on their online relationships, often at the expense of nurturing their real-life friendships. Social media, inparticular, has created a superficial form of connection, where the number of online friends or followers takes precedence over the depth and quality of the relationships. As a result, many individuals feel isolated and lonely, despite having hundreds of online friends. It is essential to strike a balance between online and offline interactions to ensure that our friendships remain meaningful and fulfilling. In conclusion, friendship is a vital aspect of our lives, and it is important to cultivate and cherish meaningful relationships with others. The qualities of a good friend, such as trust, loyalty, and support, are essential for building strong and lasting friendships. The impact of friendship on our emotional well-being and personal growth cannot be understated, as friends provide companionship, understanding, and encouragement. However, the rise of technology has also influenced the nature of modern friendships, leading to a shift in the way we connect and interact with others. It is crucial to find a balance between online and offline relationships to ensure that our friendships remain authentic and fulfilling. Ultimately, the value of friendship lies in the quality of the connections we have with others and the positive impact it has on our lives.。

1. Do you think friends are important?
没有朋友大多数时间(much of the time )我们都会很孤独,虽然有的时候一个人也是很自在的(it’s nice to be left alone),这里对于nice 替换可以有brilliant, fantastic等一类的词语。
但是无人交谈(have no one to talk to)也是很可怕的。
(Friends should be held close),因为他们是我们能拥有的最有价值的东西(the most valuable things)。
Of course friends are important! Without friends we would be lonely much of the time, and although sometimes it’s nice to be left alone, it would be horrible to have no one to talk to. With friends we can enjoy similar interests, talk about our lives and share experien ces. Friends should be held close, because they’re some of the most valuable things we can have. A true friend will always be there for you when you need them most. A strong group of friends is as good as, if not better than, a family.2. Do you prefer to have one or two close friends or a wide circle of friends?

雅思作文 friendFriendship is a fundamental aspect of human relationships, providing support, companionship, and a sense of belonging. It is a bond that transcends cultural, social, and economic barriers, enriching our lives with shared experiences, laughter, and emotional support. The significance of friendship is evident in its portrayal across various forms of literature, art, and popular culture, highlighting its universal appeal and timeless relevance. In this essay, we will explore the multifaceted nature of friendship, delving into its historical background, diverse perspectives, and the impact it has on individuals and society as a whole.The concept of friendship has evolved over centuries, reflecting the changing dynamics of human interaction and societal norms. In ancient civilizations, friendships were often based on mutual benefits, such as alliances for protection, trade, or political influence. The Greek philosopher Aristotle famously described three types of friendships: friendships of utility, based on mutual benefit; friendships of pleasure, rooted in shared enjoyment; and friendships of the good, founded on mutual respect and admiration. This classification laid the groundwork for understanding the complexities of human relationships and the varying degrees of intimacy and trust that define true friendship.Throughout history, friendships have played a crucial role in shaping the course of events, from alliances between nations to the camaraderie among soldiers on the battlefield. The bond between historical figures such as Julius Caesar and Marcus Brutus, or the friendship between Mahatma Gandhi and Hermann Kallenbach, exemplifies the profound impact of friendships on the trajectory of individuals and societies. These relationships have been immortalized in literature, folklore, and legend, underscoring their enduring significance in the human experience.In contemporary society, the concept of friendship has expanded to encompass a diverse range of connections, from childhood friends and work colleagues to online communities and support networks. The advent of social media has redefined the waywe form and maintain friendships, enabling us to connect with people across the globe and share our lives in real-time. While this digital interconnectedness has its benefits, it has also raised concerns about the superficiality of online friendships and the erosion of genuine, face-to-face interactions.From a psychological perspective, friendships have been shown to have a profound impact on our mental and emotional well-being. Studies have demonstrated that having strong social connections can reduce the risk of depression, improve self-esteem, and enhance overall happiness. Friendships provide a sense of belonging and validation, offering a support system during times of hardship and celebration during moments of joy. The power of friendship is evident in the way it shapes our identity, values, and aspirations, influencing our decisions and perspectives on life.However, the nature of friendships is not without its complexities and challenges. Conflicts, misunderstandings, and betrayals can strain even the strongest of bonds, leading to feelings of hurt, resentment, and isolation. The expectations and obligations that come with friendships can also create pressure and emotional burden, especially when the dynamics of the relationship shift over time. Navigating the intricacies of friendships requires patience, empathy, and open communication, as well as the willingness to forgive and compromise.In conclusion, friendship is a dynamic and essential aspect of the human experience, enriching our lives with companionship, support, and shared experiences. Its historical significance, diverse perspectives, and psychological impact underscore its enduring relevance in society. While friendships bring immense joy and fulfillment, they also present challenges and complexities that require understanding and effort to navigate. As we continue to evolve in arapidly changing world, the value of genuine, meaningful friendships remains a cornerstone of our emotional well-being and social interconnectedness. It is imperative to cherish and cultivate these relationships, fostering empathy, trust, and mutual respect to ensure the enduring vitality of friendship in our lives.。

An Inspirational Poem
New Friends and Old Friends
by Joseph Parry
Make new friends, but keep the old;
Those are silver, these are gold.
New-made friendships, like new wine,
Age will mellow and refine.
Friendships that have stood the test -
Time and change - are surely best;
Brow may wrinkle, hair grow gray,
Friendship never knows decay.
For 'mid old friends, tried and true,
Once more we our youth renew.
But old friends, alas! may die,
New friends must their place supply.
Cherish friendship in your breast -
New is good, but old is best;
Make new friends, but keep the old;
Those are silver, these are gold.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This friendship poem was written by Joseph Parry, (1841-1903). His words in this inspirational poem regarding friendships still hold true today. Throughout our life we are constantly meeting new people. Some remain acquaintances, some become friends. But, with our old friends we sometimes lose touch with them, due to a move, change of job, marriage, children, the list goes on and on.
Mr. Parry's point on silver and gold as they refer to friendships are well written. Our old friends are like gold. And our new friends are silver. We must
remember to treat our old friends like gold.。
