stand them.I love soap operas.②I like to follow the story and see what happens next.Sarah:Well,I don't mind soap operas. But my favorite TV shows are the n ews and talk shows.Grace:They're boring!Sarah:③Well,they may not be very exciting, but you can expect to learn a lot from them.I hope to be a TV r eporter one day.,Section B 2bWhen people say “c ulture”,we think of art and history.①But one very famous symbol in American culture is a cartoon. We all know and love the black mouse with two large round ears—Mickey Mouse.②Over 80 years ago,he first appeared in the cartoon Steamboat Willie.③When this cartoon came out in New York on November 18,1928,it was the first cartoon with sound and music. The man behind Mickey was Walt Disney.④He became very rich and successful. In the 1930s,he made 87 cartoons with Mickey. Some people might ask how this cartoon animal became so popular. One of the main r easons is that Mickey was like a common man,but he always tried to face any danger.⑤In his early films,Mickey was unlucky and had many problems such as losing his house or girlfriend,Minnie.⑥However,he was always ready to try his best.People went to the cinema to see the “little man” win. Most of them wanted to be like Mickey. On November 18,1978,Mickey became the first cartoon character to have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.Peo ple today expect to see more than just a little mouse fighting bad guys, but many still know who he is.Who has a pair of ears more famous than Mickey's?,Unit 2 I'm going to study computer science.Section A 2dAndy:What are you reading,Ken?Ken:The Old Man and the Sea by Hemingway.Andy:Wow,now I know why you'r e so good at writing stories.Ken:Yes,I want to be a writer.Andy:Really? How are you going to become a make promises to other people.(“Mom,I promise I'm going to tidy my room when I get back from school.”)However, promises you make to yourself are resolutions, and the most common kind is New Year's resolutions.The_start_of_the_year_is_often_a_time_for_making_resolutions.②When we make resolutions at the beginning of the year,we hope that we are going to improve our lives.③Some people write down their resolutions and plans for the coming year. This helps them to remember their resolutions.How_about_you_—_will_you_make_any_next_year?2.There are different kinds of resolutions. Some are about physical health. For example, some people promise themselves they are going to start an exercise program or eat less fast food.④Many resolutions have to do with selfimprovement. These are about making yourself a better person.⑤Some people m ight say they are going to take up a hobby like painting or taking photos,or learn to play the guitar. Some resolutions have to do with better planning, like making a weekly plan for schoolwork. For example,a student may have to find more time to study.3.Although there are differences, most resolutions have one thing in common.People hardly ever keep them! There are good reasons for this.Sometimes the resolutions may be too difficult to keep.Sometimes people just forget about them. For this reason, some people say the best resolution is to have no resolutions!Others tell their family and friends about their wishes and plans.,Unit 3 Will people have robots?Section A 2dNick:What are you reading,Jill?Jill:It's a book about the future.Nick:Sounds cool.So what will the future be like?Jill:①Well,cities will be more c rowded and polluted. There will be fewer trees and the environ ment will be in great danger.Nick:That sounds bad! Will we have to move to other planets?Jill:Maybe. But I want to live on the earth.Nick:Me,too.Then what can we do?Jill:②We can use less water and plant more trees.③Everyone should play a part in saving the earth.,Section B 2bDo You Think You Will Have Your Own Robot? When we watch movies about the future,we sometimes see robots. They are usually just like human servants.①They help with the housework and do jobs like working in dirty or dangerous places.②Today there are already robots working in factories.③For example, they can help to build cars, and they do simple jobs over and over again.Fewer people will do such jobs in the future because they are boring, but robots will never get bored.④Some scientists believe that there will be more robots in the future.⑤However,they agree it may take hundreds of years.Scientists are now trying to make robots look like humans and do the same things as us.Some robots in Japan can even walk and dance. These kinds of robots are fun to watch. But scientist James White thinks that it will be difficult for a robot to do the same things as a person. For example,it's easy for children to wake up and know where they are.⑥Mr.White thinks that robots won't be able to do this, but some scientists disagree. They think that robots will even be able to talk like humans in 25 to 50 years.New robots will have many different shapes. Some will look like humans, and others might look like snakes.⑦If buildings fall down with people inside, snake robots will be able to help look for people under the buildings.⑧That may not seem possible now,but computers and rockets seemed impossible 100 years ago.We never know what will happen in the future!Unit 4How do you make a banana milk shake?Section A 2dAnna:Sam,I want to make Russian soup for a party on Saturday. Can you tell me how?Sam:Sure.First, buy some beef, one cabbage, four carrots, three potatoes, five tomatoes and one onion. Then, cut up the vegetables.Anna:What's next?Sam:①Next,put the beef, carrots and p otatoes into a pot and add some water. After that, cook them for 30 minutes. Then, add the cabbage, tomatoes and onion and cook for another 10 minutes.Anna:OK,that's it?Sam:②No,one more thing.③Finally,don't forget to add some salt.,Section B 2bThanksgiving in the United States①In most countries, people usually eat traditional food on special holidays.A special day in the United States is Thanksgiving. There are many reasons for this special day.For some people,it is a time to give thanks for food in the autumn. So it is always on the fourth Thursday in November in the United States. At this time, people also remember the first travelers from England who came to live in America about 500 years ago.②These travelers had a long, hard winter, and many of them died.In the next autumn, they gave thanks for life and food in their new home.③These days, most Americans still celebrate this idea of giving thanks by having a big meal at home with their family. The main dish of this meal is almost always turkey,a large bird.Making a turkey dinnerHere is one way to make turkey for a Thanksgiving dinner.First, mix together some bread pieces, onions, salt and pepper.④Next,fill the turkey with this bread mix. Then, put the turkey in a hot oven and cook it for a few hours.⑤When it is ready, place the turkey on a large plate and cover it with gravy. Finally, cut the turkey into thin pieces and eat the meat with vegetables like carrots and potatoes.,Unit 5 Can you come to my party?Section A 2dJeff:Hey,Nick,can you come to my house on Saturday? My cousin Sam from Xi'an is going to be here.Nick:Oh,Sam!I remember we went bike riding together last fall when he visited you.Jeff:Yes,that's right.Nick:I'd love to come, but I'm afraid I can't.I have an exam on Monday so I must prepare for it.Jeff:That's really too bad!①Oh,but Sam isn't leaving until next Wednesday.②Can you hang out with us on Monday night?Nick:Sure!③Catch you on Monday!Section B 2bHi David,What a great idea!I really like Ms.Steen a lot.She helped me to improve my English so much.I'm sad to see her go,and this party is the best way to say “Thank you and goodbye.” I can help to buy some of the food and drinks.I can also help to bring Ms.Steen to the party.I already have a great idea about how to do that. He WeiHi David,Thanks so much for planning this.I'd love to come to the party, but I'm not available.①My family is taking a trip to Wuhan at the end of this month to visit my aunt and uncle. However,I'd still be glad to help out with any of the party preparations, like planning the games.Let me know if you need my help. JakeDear classmates,As I'm sure you know by now,our favorite teacher,Ms.Steen,is leaving soon to go back to the US.We're very sad that she's leaving because she is a fun teacher. To show how much we're going to miss her, let's have a surprise party for her next Friday the 28th!Can you come to the party? If so,can you help with any of these things? Please tell me by this Friday.1)Buy food and drinks.2) Think of games to play.3) Prepare things we need for the games(glue,paper,pens,...)4)②Bring Ms.Steen to the party without telling her so that she can be surprised.③I look forward to hearing from you all.DavidSection B 3aDear Parents,I would like to invite you to the opening of our new library at No.9 High School. The opening will be on the morning of Wednesday,January 8th at 9:00.After this, you can enjoy our school concert. Then lunch will be in the school hall at 12:00.Please dress smartly.I would also like to invite each parent to bring one book as a gift for the new library.④Please reply in writing to this invitation by Friday,December 20th.Larry SmithHeadmasterUnit 6 If you go to the party, you'll have a great time!Section A 2dJeff:Hey,Ben.For the party next week, should we ask people to bring food?Ben:No,let's order food from a restaurant. If we ask people to bring food, they'll just bring potato chips and chocolate because they'll be too lazy to cook.Jeff:OK.For the games,do you think we should give people some small gifts if they win?Ben:I think that's a great idea!If we do that, more people will want to play the games.Jeff:Yes,the games will be more exciting, too.,Section B 2ba.If people have problems, they should get advice from an expert.b.If people have problems, they should talk to other people.c.①If people have problems, they should try to keep them to themselves.Students these days often have a lot of worries:Sometimes t hey have problems with their schoolwork, and sometimes with their friends. What can they do about this? Some people believe the worst thing is to do ura Mills,a teenager from London, agrees.“Problems and worries are normal in life,” says Laura.“But I think talking to someone helps a lot.②Unless we talk to someone,we'll certainly feel worse.”Laura once lost her wallet, and worried for days. She was afraid to tell her parents aboutit. She even walked three miles to school each day because she didn't have any money. She just kept thinking,“If I tell my parents, they'll be angry!”③In the end,she talked to her parents and they were really understanding.④Her dad said he sometimes made careless mistakes himself. They got her a new wallet and asked her to be more careful.“I will always remember to share my problems in the future!” Laura says.Robert Hunt advises students about common problems. He feels the same way as Laura.“It is best not to run away from our problems.⑤We should always try to solve them.” He thinks the first step is to find someone you trust to talk to.This person doesn't need to be an expert like himself.⑥Students often forget that their parents have more experience than them, and are always there to help t hem.⑦In English,we say that sharing a problem is like cutting it in half.So you're halfway to solving a problem just by talking to someone about it!,Unit 7 What's the matter?Mandy:Lisa, are you OK?Lisa:I have a headache and I can’t move my neck. What should I do?Should I take my temperature? Mandy:No,it doesn’t sound like you have a fever. What did you on eht eweekend?Lisa: I played computer games all weekend.Mandy:That’s probably why.You need to take breaks away from the computer.Lisa: Yeah,I think I sat in the same way for too long without moving.Mandy:I think you should lie down and rest.If your head and neck still hurt tomorrow, then go to a doctor.Lisa:OK.Thanks ,Mandy. He lost His Arm But Is Still ClimbingAron Ralston is an American man who is interested in mountain climbing. As a mountain climber, Aron is used to taking risks. This is one of the exciting things about doing dangerous sports. There were many times when Aron almost lost his life because of accidents. On April 26, 2003, he found himself in a very dangerous situation when climbing in Utah.On that day, Aron’s arm was caught under a 360-Kilo rock that fell on him when he was climbing by himself in the mountains. Because he could not free his arm, he stayed there for five days and hoped that someone would find him. But when his water ran out, he knew that he would have to do something to save his own life. He wasn’t ready to die that day. So he used his knife to cut off half his right arm. Then, with his left arm, he bandaged himself so that he wouldn’t lose too much blood. After that, he climbed down the mountain to find help,After losing his arm, he wrote a book called Between a Rock and Hard Place. This means being in a difficult situation that you can’t seem to get out of. In this book, Aron tells of the importance of making good decisions, and of being in control of one’s life. His love for mountain climbing is so great that he kept on climbing mountains even after this experience.Do we have the same spirit as Aron? Let’s think about it before we find ourselves “between a rock and a hard place”, and before we have to make a decision that could mean life or death.Unit 8 I'll help to clean up the city park?Helen: Hi, Tom. I'm making some plans to work in an old people's home this summer. Tom: Really? I did that last summerHelen: Oh, what did they ask you to help out with?Tom: Mmm… things like reading the newspaper to the old people or just talking to them The told me stories about the past and how things used to be.Helen: That sounds interesting.Tom: Yeah, a lot of old people are lonely. We should listen to them and care for them. Helen: You're right. I mean, we're all going to be old one day, too.I’ll send you a photo of luckyDear Miss Li,I'd like to thank you for giving money to “Animal Helpers”, I’m sure you know that this group was set up to help people like me. You helped to make it possible for me to have Lucky. Lucky makes a big difference to my life. Let me tell you my story. What would it be like to be blind or deaf? Or imagine you can’t walk or use your hands easily. Most people would never think about this, but many people have these difficulties, I can't use my arms or legs well, so normal things like answering the telephone, opening and closing doors or carrying things are difficult for me. Then one day last year, a friend of mine helped me out. She talked to Animal Helpers about getting me a special trained dog. She also thought a dog might cheer me up. I love animals and I was excited about the idea of having a dog. After six months of training with a dog at Animal Helpers, I was able to bring him home. My dog's name is Lucky---a good name for him because I feel very lucky to have him. You see, I'm only able to have a “dog-helper” because of your kindness!Lucky is very clever and understands many English words. He can understand me when I give him orders. For example, I say, “Lucky! get my book,” and he does it at once.Lucky is a fantastic dog. I'll send you a photo of him if you like, and I could show you how he helps me. Thank you again for changing my life.Best wishes,Ben Smith。

Unit 1Do you want to watch a game show?

Unit 2I'm going to study computer science.

1Here's a 2000-word essay in English, from the perspective of a 7th-grade student, on the topic of Unit 4 from the Shandong Education Edition English textbook for 7th grade:My Summer Adventure Camp ExperienceHi there! My name is Amy and I'm a 7th-grade student. I recently went to a summer adventure camp and I want to tell you all about the exciting experiences I had there! The camp was located in a beautiful forest area, surrounded by tall trees and a sparkling lake. When we first arrived, I was feeling a bit nervous since I didn't know anyone else there. But the camp counselors were really friendly and made us all feel welcome right away.On the first day, we went on a nature hike through the woods. Our guide taught us how to identify different types of plants and trees, and we even spotted a few deer grazing in aclearing. It was so peaceful being surrounded by nature, away from the noise and distractions of the city. After the hike, we had a picnic lunch by the lake. The camp chefs had prepared delicious sandwiches, fruits, and cookies for us. We played some fun games like Frisbee and tag while waiting for our food to settle before our next activity. The afternoon was my favorite part – we went canoeing on the lake! The counselors showed us how to paddle and steer the canoes properly. At first, I was a bit wobbly, but I got the hang of it pretty quickly. We explored the different coves and saw some cool birds like herons and geese up close. The water was so calm and relaxing. In the evening, we had a campfire and sang silly songs together. The counselors told us spooky stories that gave me goosebumps! Afterwards, we made s'mores by roasting marshmallows over the fire. I had never done that before, but it was so much fun and absolutely delicious. The next couple of days were packed with even more exciting activities. One day, we went rock climbing on a small cliff face. Although I was scared at first, the counselors helped me every step of the way and I felt such a sense of accomplishmentwhen I reached the top! We also went mountain biking through the trails, which was a bit challenging but a huge thrill.Another day, we learned survival skills like how to build a shelter, find safe drinking water, and identify edible plants in the forest. We even got to try starting a fire using just sticks and a flint – it took me a few tries but I finally got a spark going! These skills could really come in handy if I ever got lost in the wilderness. One of the coolest parts of camp was the nighttime astronomy lesson. We used powerful telescopes to gaze at planets, stars, and galaxies in the night sky. Our instructor taught us about different constellations and how to navigate using the stars. I had no idea there were so many amazing things to see in the sky!Throughout the week, I made so many new friends at the camp. We encouraged and supported each other to step out of our comfort zones and try new things. Even though some activities were scary at first, we all felt brave and confident by working as a team. I'm definitely going to stay in touch with my camp friends. On the last night, we had a big celebration and talent show. Some campers sang or played instruments, while others showedoff fun magic tricks or told jokes. I did a silly dance routine with my friends, and although we messed up a few times, everyone was clapping and cheering us on. Such a blast! As you can probably tell, I had the most incredible time at summer adventure camp. I stepped out of my regular routine and experienced so many new thrills and challenges. More importantly, I built self-confidence, made wonderful friends, and created cherished memories that will last a lifetime. I'm already counting down the days until next summer when I can go back to camp again!篇2Title: My Dream Summer VacationHello, my name is Lucy, and I'm a 12-year-old student in primary school. Summer vacation is just around the corner, and I can't wait to tell you about my dream summer plans! It's going to be an adventure-filled break, and I'm so excited!Firstly, I've been looking forward to visiting my grandparents in the countryside. They live in a small village surrounded by lush green fields and towering mountains. It's such a peaceful and serene place, far away from the hustle and bustle of the city. I love spending time with my grandparents, listening to theirfascinating stories and learning about their way of life. They always make me feel so loved and special.During my stay, I plan to help my grandfather tend to his vegetable garden. He grows the most delicious tomatoes, cucumbers, and carrots. I'll learn how to properly water the plants, pull out the weeds, and maybe even plant some new seeds. It's going to be so much fun getting my hands dirty and learning about gardening! In the evenings, my grandmother and I will sit on the porch and watch the stunning sunsets. The sky transforms into a breathtaking canvas of warm oranges, pinks, and purples. It's a sight that never fails to take my breath away. We'll sip on her homemade lemonade and share stories about our day. Those moments with her are truly precious.Another highlight of my dream summer vacation will be camping in the great outdoors with my family. We'll pack our tents, sleeping bags, and all the essential supplies for a weekend of adventure. I can't wait to explore the hiking trails, roast marshmallows by the campfire, and gaze up at the twinkling stars in the night sky. It's going to be an unforgettable experience, filled with quality time and cherished memories.Speaking of talents, I also plan to enroll in a summer art class.I love painting and drawing, and this class will be the perfect opportunity to unleash my creativity. I'll learn new techniques, experiment with different mediums, and hopefully create some masterpieces to proudly display at home. And let's not forget about the delicious summer treats! Ice cream, popsicles, and refreshing fruit smoothies – I'll definitely indulge in these tasty delights during my vacation. There's something special about enjoying a cool, sweet treat on a hot summer day.Overall, my dream summer vacation is shaping up to be an incredible adventure. From spending quality time with my loved ones to exploring new hobbies and making unforgettable memories, it's going to be a summer to remember. I can't wait for the school year to end so that my summer fun can begin!篇3My Journey with EnglishHi there! My name is Lily, and I'm a seventh-grader at Sunshine Middle School. I'm here to share my experience with learning English, specifically from the fourth unit of our textbook this semester. Buckle up, because it's been quite an adventure!Unit 4 was all about "Keeping Healthy," and let me tell you, it was a real eye-opener. We learned so much about the importance of living a healthy lifestyle, and how even small changes can make a big difference in our overall well-being.One of the first things we covered was the food pyramid and the different food groups. I have to admit, I was a bit surprised to see that fruits and veggies should make up such a large portion of our daily intake. I mean, sure, I like apples and carrots, but that much? It seemed like a lot to me. But as we learned more about the nutrients and vitamins found in these foods, it started to make sense. Eating a balanced diet is key to staying energized and focused throughout the day.Speaking of energy, we also learned about the importance of exercise and physical activity. I'm not the most athletic person, but even simple things like taking a walk or doing some stretches can have a positive impact on our health. It's all about finding activities that we enjoy and making them a part of our routine.Another interesting topic we covered was personal hygiene.I know, I know, it's not the most exciting subject, but it's definitely an important one. We learned about the importance of regular bathing, dental care, and even things like handwashing and using clean tissues when we sneeze or cough. I have to say, itmade me a lot more aware of these daily habits and how they can help prevent the spread of germs and illnesses. But Unit 4 wasn't just about learning facts and figures; it also helped us develop our language skills. We practiced vocabulary related to health and wellness, such as names of different foods, parts of the body, and common illnesses. We also learned how to express our feelings and describe symptoms, which could come in handy if we ever need to communicate with a doctor or nurse. One of my favorite activities was writing a short story about a character who had to make some lifestyle changes to improve their health. It was a fun way to put our newfound knowledge into practice and get creative at the same time. I wrote about a girl who loved junk food but realized she needed to start making healthier choices after feeling sluggish and tired all the time.Overall, Unit 4 was a valuable learning experience for me. Not only did it provide me with important information about staying healthy, but it also helped me improve my English skills in a practical and relatable way. I'm grateful for the opportunity to learn about these topics at a young age, as it will undoubtedly help me make better choices as I continue to grow and develop.Who knows, maybe I'll even become a health enthusiast one day! For now, though, I'll settle for trying to eat a few moreservings of veggies and getting in some extra playtime with my friends. Baby steps, right?Well, that's all from me for now. I hope you enjoyed this little glimpse into my English learning journey. Until next time, stay healthy and keep practicing your English!篇4Title: A Day in the Life of a Seventh GraderIt was a sunny Monday morning, and I woke up to the sound of my alarm clock buzzing incessantly. I groaned and hit the snooze button, hoping to catch a few more minutes of precious sleep. Unfortunately, my mom had other plans."Wake up, sleepyhead!" she called from downstairs. "You don't want to be late for school!"Reluctantly, I dragged myself out of bed and stumbled into the bathroom to freshen up. After brushing my teeth and splashing some water on my face, I felt a little more alert.Downstairs, the aroma of freshly brewed coffee and sizzling bacon filled the air. My dad was already seated at the table, reading the newspaper and sipping his morning beverage."Good morning, kiddo," he greeted me with a warm smile. "Ready for another exciting day of learning?"I nodded, though the idea of sitting through hours of classes didn't exactly fill me with enthusiasm. Still, I knew education was important, and I tried my best to stay focused and engaged. After wolfing down a quick breakfast, I grabbed my backpack and headed out the door. The walk to school was relatively short, but I enjoyed the fresh air and the opportunity to clear my mind before the day's activities. As I approached the school gates, I spotted some of my friends waiting outside. We exchanged friendly greetings and made our way to our respective classrooms. The first few periods flew by in a blur of lectures, note-taking, and occasional daydreaming. I found myself doodling in the margins of my notebook, sketching random shapes and patterns as my mind wandered.During the mid-morning break, we headed outside to the playground, where we engaged in a lively game of handball. The exercise and fresh air were rejuvenating, and I felt ready to tackle the rest of the day's lessons. After lunch, we had English class, one of my favorite subjects. Our teacher, Mrs. Wilson, was always enthusiastic and engaging, making even the most complex grammar rules seem manageable."Today, we're going to learn about relative clauses," she announced, her eyes twinkling with excitement. "Can anyone give me an example sentence using a relative clause?"A few hands shot up, and Mrs. Wilson called on one of my classmates, who offered a tentative example."That's a good start," Mrs. Wilson encouraged. "Let's break it down and analyze the relative clause together."As the lesson progressed, I found myself actively participating, raising my hand to share my thoughts and ask questions. English wasn't just a subject to me; it was a window into a whole new world of language and culture. After English, we had math, a subject that often left me feeling frustrated and confused. However, our teacher, Mr. Thompson, was patient and dedicated, always willing to provide extra explanations and examples."Don't worry if you don't get it right away," he reassured us. "Math takes practice, and everyone learns at their own pace."With his guidance and encouragement, I slowly began to grasp the concepts we were covering, even if it meant staying after class for extra help or seeking tutoring from my classmates who excelled in the subject. As the final bell rang, signaling the end of the school day, I felt a sense of accomplishment mixed with relief. I gathered my belongings and made my way towards the exit, eager to enjoy the rest of the afternoon and evening. On the walk home, I chatted with my friends about our plans for the weekend, discussing potential outings or sleepovers. We laughed and joked, reveling in the simple joys of childhood and friendship.Once home, I kicked off my shoes and plopped down on the couch, grateful for a moment of respite. However, the break was short-lived, as I soon remembered the homework assignments and studying that awaited me.After a quick snack, I settled at my desk and began tackling the day's assignments, meticulously working through each problem or task. Sometimes, I found myself getting stuck or frustrated, but I persevered, seeking help from my parents or older siblings when needed. As the evening hours ticked by, I completed my homework and prepared for the next day's classes. Before bed, I indulged in a little leisure time, reading a few chapters of my favorite book or watching a television show.As I drifted off to sleep, I reflected on the day's events and the lessons learned. Each day brought new challenges and opportunities for growth, both academically and personally. And although the life of a seventh grader could be demanding and overwhelming at times, I knew that these formative years were shaping me into the person I would eventually become. With a contented sigh, I closed my eyes and let sleep claim me, ready to embark on another adventure tomorrow.篇5My Incredible Experiences and AdventuresHi there! My name is Xiaoming and I'm a 7th grader here in China. I can't wait to share with you some of my most incredible experiences and adventures over the past few years. Get ready for an exciting journey!Let me start by telling you about the time I went camping with my family in the beautiful mountains. We packed up ourtent, sleeping bags, and lots of snacks, and headed out early one morning. The drive itself was so much fun, with my little sister and I playing road trip games and enjoying the scenery out the window. When we arrived at the campsite, my dad got right to work setting up our tent while my mom started the campfire. I loved helping gather sticks and kindling for the fire. Once our tent was all set up, we went on a short hike to explore the area. The fresh mountain air was amazing and we saw so much cool wildlife - deer, rabbits, and even a family of bears from a safe distance! That night after roasting hot dogs and making s'mores over the fire, we told spooky stories and stargazed before crawling into our cozy tent. I'll never forget the sound of the wind rustling through the trees as I fell asleep. Camping is such an awesome way to get outdoors and connect with nature.Another epic adventure was when our class went on a field trip to an amusement park for Physics Day. We got to experience all the thrilling roller coasters and rides while learning about concepts like velocity, acceleration, gravity and more. My favorite was definitely the corkscrew looping coaster that whipped us around at super fast speeds. I felt like I was floating out of my seat at times! Our physics teacher had us time the roller coaster runs, calculate the energy transfers, and analyze the forces at work. It was the perfect way to make the textbook concepts come alive in a fun, hands-on way. We spent the whole day running around between rides, games, and exhibits. Even though it was educational, it was one of the most exciting field trips ever.Last summer, I had the opportunity to travel to America and visit my cousins in California. The flight there was really long but I passed the time watching movies, reading, and doodling in my travel journal. When we finally landed in Los Angeles, I was amazed by the bright lights, towering skyscrapers and buzzing freeways. My cousins took us to all the cool tourist spots - Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Santa Monica Pier, and of course Disneyland! Disneyland was a true magic kingdom with all the incredible rides, shows, fireworks and character meet-and-greets. I'll never forget seeing Cinderella's Castle up close and getting to hug Mickey Mouse himself. We easily spent two full days there and I still didn't want to leave. The beach was another highlight, with its warm sand, crashing waves and gorgeous sunsets. We went body boarding, built massive sandcastles, and played competitive beachvolleyball matches. One early morning, we even saw a pod of dolphins swimming just off the coast! In addition to the touristy stuff, I got to experience normal American life and culture by staying with my cousins. We ate hamburgers, went bowling, binge-watched Netflix shows, and played tons of video games together. Their neighborhood was so different from where I live, with big houses, wide roads and huge shopping malls. I picked up lots of English slang and pop culture references that I couldn't fully understand from textbooks back home.My time in California went by in a flash, but gave me so many wonderful memories and new perspectives. It really opened my eyes to how big and diverse the world is beyond my small city in China. I feel so lucky to have had that incredible international experience at a young age. Those are just a few highlights from my most epic adventures so far. Between camping trips, amusement parks, traveling abroad and more, my childhood has already been packed with fun, excitement篇6My Funny FamilyHi there! My name is Lily and I'm a 7th grader at Green Valley Middle School. Today, I want to tell you all about my amazing yet hilarious family. We may be a bit crazy at times, but I wouldn't have it any other way!Let me start with my mom. She's the most caring person I know, but she can also be really funny sometimes without even trying. Like when she cooks, she always sings along to her favorite pop songs from the 90s. And let me tell you, her dance moves in the kitchen are priceless! She'll be stirring a pot while shaking her hips and clicking her fingers. It's hilarious to watch! Then there's my dad. He's a real jokester and loves playing little pranks on us. One time, he switched out the sugar in the sugar bowl with salt! When my brother tried making his morning coffee, you can imagine the face he made after taking a sip. We all cracked up laughing as he stuck out his tongue in disgust. Dad thought it was the funniest thing ever.Speaking of my brother Ethan, he's two years older than me and the biggest goofball you'll ever meet. He's always trying to impersonate our favorite movie characters or doing silly voices. His Darth Vader impression is uncanny - he can make that deep, robotic breathing sound perfectly! Whenever I'm feeling down, Ethan's silly antics never fail to cheer me up.We also can't forget about our dog Rufus. He's a big, fluffy golden retriever who thinks he's a human. Rufus loves being around us so much that he'll actually try to sit at the dinner table! One time, mom made a nice turkey dinner and we were all seated when suddenly Rufus jumped up and plopped himself right into dad's lap, begging for scraps. We were laughing so hard that tears were streaming down our faces. Our house is never quiet, that's for sure. There's always some kind of commotion or laughter filling the rooms. Like when we played that game of family charades last week - oh boy, was that a mess! We were split into two teams, making up the craziest clues to act out. At one point, dad was flapping his arms and squawking like a chicken while Ethan was rolling on the floor, cackling hysterically. I don't even remember what movie he was trying to act out, but it was just so silly and fun.And let's not forget about the time we all decided to make homemade pizzas together for dinner. What should have been a simple family activity turned into an all-out flour war! It started when Ethan playfully tossed a bit of flour at me, but then I retaliated by flinging some back at him. Before we knew it, flour was flying everywhere as we chased each other around the kitchen, laughing like maniacs. By the time we were done, theentire room was covered in a thick layer of white powder. We looked like ghosts! But mom and dad didn't even get mad - they just joined in on the fun. That's just a typical day in the life of my funny family. There's never a dull moment when we're all together. Sometimes our antics drive me a little crazy, like when Ethan or dad take their jokes too far. But at the end of the day, I wouldn't want it any other way. Their wacky humor and playful spirits make every day feel like an adventure. To me, that's what family is all about - making countless memories, sharing inside jokes, and surrounding yourself with the people who always make you smile, no matter what.。

Unit 1Do you want to watch a game show?Section A 2dGrace:What did you do in class today,Sarah?Sarah:We had a discussion about TV shows. My classmates like game shows and sports shows.Grace:①Oh,I can't stand them.I love soap operas.②I like to follow the story and see what happens next.Sarah:Well,I don't mind soap operas. How are you going to become a writer?Ken:①Well,I'm going to keep on writing stories,of course. What do you want to be?Andy:②My parents want me to be a doctor, but I'm not sure about that.Ken:Well, don't worry. Not everyone knows what they want to b e.Just make sure you try your best. Then you can be anything you want!Andy:Yes,you're right.,Section B 2b1.Do you know what a resolution is?It's a kind of promise.①Most of the time,we make promises to other people.(“Mom,I promise I'm going to tidy my room when I get back from school.”)However, promises you make to yourself are resolutions, and the most common kind is New Year's resolutions.The_start_of_the_year_is_often_a_time_for_making_resolutions.②When we make resolutions at the beginning of the year,we hope that we are going to improve our lives.③Some people write down their resolutions and plans for the coming year. My cousin Sam from Xi'an is going to be here.Nick:Oh,Sam!I remember we went bike riding together last fall when he visited you.Jeff:Yes,that's right.Nick:I'd love to come, but I'm afraid I can't.I have an exam on Monday so I must prepare for it.Jeff:That's really too bad!①Oh,but Sam isn't leaving until next Wednesday.②Can you hang out with us on Monday night?Nick:Sure!③Catch you on Monday!Section B 2bHi David,What a great idea!I really like Ms.Steen a lot.She Mandy:No,it doesn’t sound like you have a fever.
