Charlotte “Jane Eyre” Brontë(1816-1854)Charlotte Brontë was born 21 April 1816, third of the six children of Patrick Brontë and Maria Branwell Brontë.The major event of her young life was the death of her mother in 1821, whichcreated a lot of chaos. In 1824, Charlotte and her two older sisters, Maria and Elizabeth, were sent to the newly-opened Cowan Bridge Clergy Daughters' School.Conditions there were bad even by the standards of the time, and it was not long before both Maria and Elizabeth became ill enough to be sent home, where they both died of consumption in the spring of1825.Patrick brought Charlotte and her younger sister Emily, who had recently joined them at the school, back home as soon as the other girls became ill, but Charlotte in particular never forgot what the school had been like. The surviving kids all became each others' best friends. They created the kingdom of Gondal and wrote all kinds of epic stories and poems set in that realm.Charlotte and Branwell were in charge of Angria proper, while Emily and Anne(the youngest)ran the neighboring kingdom of Gondal.Charlotte's next adventure was going to school in Brussels with Emily in 1842.Charlotte's time there was brief, less than two years, but it led to her eventual writing of Villette beginning in 1852.Back home, Charlotte lapsed into chronic unemployment and severe hypochondria, actually thinking she was going blind, just like her father was.In 1846 the three sisters published a book of Poems, and though sales werevery slow, the reviews were good and spurred on further literary endeavours.Charlotte's novel of this time, The Professor, was actually rather bad, suffering from a less-than-believeable main character. In August of 1846 Charlotte began work on Jane Eyre.Though it was published in 1847, Charlotte didn't tell her father about it until the next year, when the novel's success was plain. When the novel begins, Jane is an isolated, powerless ten-year-old living with an aunt and cousins who dislike her.As the novel progresses, she grows in strength. She distinguishes herself at Lowood School because of her hard work and strong intellectual abilities. As a governess at Thornfield, she learns of the pleasures and pains of love through her relationship with Edward Rochester. After being deceived by him, she goes to Marsh End, where she regains her spiritual focus and discovers her own strength when she rejects St.John River’s marriage proposal.By novel’s end she has become a powerful, independent woman, blissfully married to the man she loves, Rochester. You think because I'm poor, I'm plain, I have no feelings? I promise you, if god is gifted me with wealth and beauty, I should make it does as hard for you to leave me just as for me to leave you now, but he didn not.If my spirit can address yours, as we both pass the grave stood before him equal.

1After reading the English version of "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz", I was deeply touched and inspired. The story has taken me on an extraordinary journey filled with magic, courage, and self-discovery.The protagonist, Dorothy, impressed me with her unwavering bravery and determination. Despite facing numerous challenges and obstacles on her way to find her way back home, she never gave up. Her spirit gave me the strength to confront the difficulties in my life. Whenever I encounter hardships, I remind myself of Dorothy's perseverance and believe that I too can overcome any obstacle. The magical and fantastical scenes in the book also sparked my imagination. The Emerald City, the field of poppies, and the encounter with the Winged Monkeys were all so vivid and enchanting. They transported me to a world beyond my wildest dreams, allowing me to escape the mundane and embrace the possibility of the extraordinary.Overall, "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz" is not just a children's story; it is a tale that holds valuable lessons and inspiration for people of all ages. It has taught me the importance of having a goal, being courageous, and believing in myself. This book will always have a special place in my heart, and I will undoubtedly revisit it whenever I need a dose of magic andcourage.2"The Wizard of Oz" is a book that has left an indelible mark on my heart. It is a tale that not only entertains but also imparts valuable lessons about friendship and courage. The friendship between Dorothy and her companions - the Scarecrow, the Tin Woodman, and the Lion - is truly touching. They support each other through thick and thin, each bringing their unique qualities to the group. The Scarecrow's intelligence, the Tin Woodman's kindness, and the Lion's bravery all contribute to their collective strength. For instance, when they face the terrifying flying monkeys, they stand together without hesitation, showing that true friendship means never leaving a friend behind in times of danger. The story also teaches us a profound lesson about courage. Courage is not the absence of fear but the willingness to move forward despite it. Dorothy, a young girl far from home, shows remarkable courage in her quest to return to Kansas. She doesn't let the unknown and the many obstacles along the way deter her. Similarly, the Lion, who believes he lacks courage, discovers it within himself when he steps up to protect his friends. In conclusion, "The Wizard of Oz" is more than just a story. It is a source of inspiration that reminds us of the power of friendship and theimportance of having the courage to pursue our dreams. It encourages us to believe that, with friends by our side and the determination to face our fears, we can overcome any challenge that comes our way.3After reading the English version of "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz", I was deeply moved and gained a lot of insights. The story beautifully portrays the themes of family and belonging. Dorothy's longing to return home and her determination to overcome all obstacles to reach her family touch my heart. It makes me realize the significance and warmth of family. No matter how far we go or how difficult the journey is, the love and support of family are always our source of strength and courage. The positive attitude towards life conveyed in the story also has a profound impact on me. The characters, despite facing numerous challenges and difficulties, never give up and always believe that there is a way out. This spirit encourages me to stay optimistic and persistent in the face of difficulties in my own life.In conclusion, "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz" is not just an ordinary adventure story, but a book that inspires and enlightens. It teaches us to cherish family, stay positive, and have the courage to pursue our dreams.4"The Wizard of Oz" is a captivating story that has left a profound impression on me. The journey of Dorothy and her companions through the magical land is not only full of thrilling adventures but also holds significant lessons about growth and self-discovery.Dorothy, a young girl far from home, embarks on a perilous quest to find her way back. Along the way, she faces numerous challenges and obstacles. However, it is precisely through these hardships that she begins to recognize her inner strength and value. She learns to be courageous in the face of danger and to rely on her own wits and the support of her friends. The scarecrow, believing he lacks a brain, discovers his intelligence as they encounter various problems. The tin woodman, thinking he has no heart, shows compassion and kindness throughout their journey. And the lion, convinced of his cowardice, finds bravery when it is needed most. This story teaches us that growth is not an easy path but one filled with difficulties and uncertainties. It is during these moments that we truly understand our capabilities and potential. Just like Dorothy and her friends, we may initially think we lack something essential, but as we face life's challenges, we realize that the power and qualities we seek have always been within us.In conclusion, "The Wizard of Oz" is not just a tale of adventure but a profound exploration of the human spirit's capacity for growth and self-awareness. It reminds us that no matter how far we wander or how difficult the journey may seem, the answers we seek often lie within ourselves.5The Wonderful World of "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz""The Wonderful Wizard of Oz" is a remarkable story that has left a deep impression on me. This tale is not merely a children's adventure but a profound exploration of human nature and society. The characters in the story each have distinct personalities, reflecting both the weaknesses and strengths of humanity. Dorothy, the brave and determined protagonist, shows us the power of perseverance and the longing for home. The Tin Woodman, lacking a heart but demonstrating kindness and compassion, makes us question the true meaning of emotions. The Scarecrow, seeking a brain, represents the struggle for knowledge and wisdom. And the Cowardly Lion, in his search for courage, reveals that bravery often lies within, waiting to be discovered.Furthermore, the story also mirrors various phenomena in the real society. The journey of the characters to reach the Emerald City can be seen as a metaphor for people's pursuit of their dreams and goals in life. They encounter numerous obstacles and challenges, much like the difficulties we face in our daily lives. The Wicked Witch of the West symbolizes the evil and injustice that exist in the world, while the help and support they receive along the way represent the kindness and cooperation that are essential forour survival and progress. In conclusion, "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz" is not only an entertaining story but also a thought-provoking one. It teaches us to be brave in the face of difficulties, to value our hearts, minds, and courage, and to believe that there is always a way home, both physically and metaphorically.。

As an African child, I have experienced many challenges in my life. One of the biggest challenges is the language barrier. In Africa, there are over 1,000 different languages spoken, and English is not always the first language for many children. This makes it difficult for usto communicate with people from other countries and evenwith our own fellow Africans who speak a different language. However, I have learned to adapt and overcome this challenge by learning English as a second language. English has become the universal language and it opens up many opportunities for us. For example, I can communicate with people from different countries, I can access informationon the internet, and I can even travel to other countries and study or work there.

Reflections on "Wild Child""Wild Child" is a heartfelt and poignant film that explores the complexities of human relationships and the power of transformation. Directed by Anna Foerster, thefilm stars Emma Roberts, Nathaniel Curtis, and Alexandra Shipp in lead roles, delivering a compelling narrative that left me deeply moved. The story revolves around Poppy, a privileged teenage girl from Los Angeles who is sent to a strict boarding school in England as a last resort to straighten out her wild behavior. However, what she finds there is not just a rigid disciplinary system but a group of outcasts who have been ostracized for various reasons. Despite her initial resistance and rebellion, Poppy soon finds herself drawn into this makeshift family and starts to learn valuablelife lessons. What struck me most about the film was its honest portrayal of human emotions and the fragility of adolescence. Poppy's journey from a selfish andrecalcitrant girl to a compassionate and understanding individual is not just a matter of external changes; it's a deep internal transformation that takes place over time. The film beautifully captures this process, showing how the characters grow and evolve as they navigate their way through difficult situations. The relationships between the characters are also beautifully crafted. The bond between Poppy and her newfound friends is deeply heartfelt, and their support for each other in times of crisis is truly inspiring. The film also explores the complex dynamics between Poppy and her parents, particularly her relationship with her father, who is trying to reconcile his own past mistakes while trying to connect with his daughter. The cinematography and music of the film complement the story perfectly. The scenic locations and the use of natural light create a warm and inviting atmosphere thatadds to the emotional impact of the film. The soundtrack, which features a mix of upbeat and emotional tracks, enhances the emotional journey of the characters, making it even more relatable. In conclusion, "Wild Child" is a beautiful film that manages to capture the essence of human relationships and the power of transformation. It is a heartfelt tribute to the resilience of the human spirit and a reminder that we all have the potential to grow and change for the better, regardless of our backgrounds or circumstances. I highly recommend this film to anyone looking for a touching and uplifting story about self-discovery and the power of human connections.。

英语原版小说《非洲孩子》900字读后感(全英文版)Book report:About The African ChildName:Number:Time: the fourth semesterAfter Read The African ChildThe African Child was written by an African writer called Camara Laye, who gave me a different perspective about seEing the African children. It is really a book which is worth reading although it do not belong to the best-sellers or the newest publication. It is just a book written in a very long time ago by a not that famous writer, but youll find it fantastic or you will finally get something after read the book. Now lets see the details. The African Child is a book collected by Collins English Library, and the library graded it with level 4. The level represents a text written within a basic vocabulary of 500 words and appropriate structures, 2:1000 words, 3:2000 words, 4:3000 words, 5:5000 words. The Collins English library series are written for students of English as a second or foreign language and for reluctant native readers. The African child only contains 12 chapters, but for me, its the perfect, because I cannot read that much words in a short time by myreading speed, I know I have to do with my reading. At the beginning of the book, there is a short passage written for the writers mother to express the writers thanks towards his great mother, and also, to appreciate the women of Africa. Then comes the story. It is a true story about the author himself became a man, and finally left his hometown and family. During the reading process, I find something interesting and touching. I used to misunderstood that all the African family are living a poor and unhappy life, and the woman here has little importance in their society. Now I know that not everything is so absolute. The author tells us that some people may hold this view for many years, but Africa is huge, with many different ways of life, and in their country the woman has considerable freedom and power. In his hometown, his mother was respected and admired greatly not only for her strong mind, but also her strange powers. He really had a mother with fantastic powers just like magic. In the book, it seems just many of them have magic, his fathers black guiding snake which guided him to do the right thing, and led him to the way of success. And also, his mothers power to make animals come to life, the mystical sema or medicine man, and marabouts who have a magic power to make wishes come true or can predict future just like a wizard. In the beginning of the book, I saw that those African boys did not live a hard time. Instead, they were happy almost every day, they loved wild animals, and the wild animals like snakes never hurt them, snakes are thought to be good friends and tutor to them. In a certain time, the author would go to visit his grandmother who lived in countryside. Here everybody knew everybody else, they know almost everything about each other, and each others secrets, but they were very considerate to each other in a country manner. Here we can see that country manners do not mean rough manners, people are more polite in the country than in the town. They have more time, and the way of life is simpler in the country, but there are accepted rules. Although everyone knows everything about everyone elses lives, they are always very careful about each others personal freedom. And if their minds seem to work more slowly in the country, it is because speech is a serious matter. They always think careful before speaking. Here author spent a very happy time. He enjoyed the activity of cutting rice with adult and partners just as young as he is, he liked the sound of drum while cutting rice, and he loved to keep the birds away from their rice on the ground. He could swim in the river with others freely, and climb trees as he want even though his clothes would be torn. He was not afraid of that here, he had a grandma who would mend it without complain. She loved her grandson. But life is not happy all the time; there surely will be some hard time to spend. As the author went to school, old boys always hit the younger students, took their food and money away, but the young was too afraid to tell their fathers. Finally one day, hungry and hurt, one of the youngerstudents dared to tell all about it to his father, one of the most famous people in the town, so the problem was solved, and the younger students was lived in a happy life ever after.Time flies, here came the day of boys becoming men. They would experience the circumcision. The process is hurt, but its the price of becoming a man. All the boys behaved very bravely that they never cried out under the almost unbearable pain. They were the African children!, In the end, I want to say that although there are some strange customs in Africa, I do changed my view on the African lives. Maybe they do not as wealthy as the Europeans, but they are living a happy life too, just like the author said, Africa is huge, theres different ways of life. Now I see Africa as a place full of love, care, magic and natural life.。
