Installation Instructions Models ZU-35/-35DS/-35TSDual Zone ModuleSiemens Industry, Inc. Building Technologies Division Florham Park, NJ Siemens Building Technologies, Ltd. Fire Safety & Security Products2 Kenview BoulevardBrampton, OntarioL6T 5E4 CanadaDescriptionZU-35The Dual Zone Module Model ZU-35, is designed to provide two independent initiating circuits. Up to thirty standard Siemens ionization and photoelectric detectors or flame de-tectors (except model DF-3, DF-3A and DF-30) are sup-ported by these modules.Additionally, any quantity of shorting type contact devices such as manual stations and thermal detectors also can be accommodated and intermixed on each initiating circuit. Screw Terminals are provided for each power limited circuit, in either NFPA Class A (Style D) or Class B (Style B.)ZU-35DSIn addition to all the same features of the ZU-35, each zone is provided with a disconnect switch which will disable the zone. This action will cause a zone trouble and a system trouble signal until the switch is returned to normal.ZU-35TSThe ZU-35TS is furnished with a 3 position momentary con-tact test switch for each zone. The normal switch position is in the center, one side position will test the zone trouble sig-nal and the other will test a zone alarm signal. This is a re-quirement for US Coast Guard approval for use on marine systems, and the module is Coast Guard approved. Electrical RatingsSupervisory: 31mA @ 24VDCAlarm: 272mA @ 24VDCOperationUpon operation of a detector or shorting type device installed on the initiating circuit, the module will lock into an alarm con-dition, initiating the start of the sequential functions designed into the system. These functions may include sounding au-dible devices, operating alarm transmitters, closing doors, shutting down fans and equipment, recalling elevators, and other similar functions required for life and property safety. In addition to the system alarm, a red Alarm LED, on the face of the dual zone module will be illuminated for that particular detection circuit. A trouble on either detection circuit will be similarly annunciated with a yellow LED, one for each circuit. The module supplies a current limited output signal for the circuit in alarm providing for activation of supplementary modules or annunciators. The dual zone module occupies one module space in the System 3 rail structure and is interconnected via a ten-pin plug and harness assembly.Installation1.Mount the module to the horizontal mounting brackets inthe control enclosure.2.Install the Model JA-5 (5 in long) bus connector cableassembly between receptacle P2 of the module and receptacle 1 of the module or control panel immediately preceding it in the bus.Note: If the preceding module is on another row in the enclosure, a JA-24 (24 in long) bus connector cable assembly will be required.3.Modules are to be bus-connected from right to left. Fortwo-row enclosures, the modules in the lower row are to be connected from left to right. Succeeding rows are to be alternately connected, right to left, left to right, etc.4.If a module is the last module in the system, install eithera JS-30 (30 in long) or JS-64 (64 in long) bus connectorassembly from the unused receptacle of the last module to terminal 41 of the CP-35 control panel. This completes the module supervision circuit.5.Wire the circuit(s) as described in the CP-35 Control PanelInstruction Manual (P/N 315-085063) Installation and Wiring. Refer to the Wiring illustration.Note: If a zone is not used, the EOL device should be connected to the alarm initiating circuit terminals 2 and 3 (Zone 1) or 4 and 5 (Zone 2) of the module.6.If a supplementary relay module, annunciator, or otheroutput module is used, then the alarm outputs, terminals1 (Zone 1) and 7 (Zone 2), should be connected to theseunits.Wiring TestRefer to the CP-35 Control P anel Instruction Manual, Installation and Wiring.P/N 315-083222-18Typical WiringINITIATING CIRCUITSRated:18.1–23.5 VDC, Unfiltered Full Wave Rectified Supv:9mA Alarm:275mA1.Total zone initiating circuit resistance is 36 ohms max (9 ohms per line).2.Unused (spare) zones must have an EOL device connected.3.See individual detector for actual terminal connection numbers. Maximum of 30 detectors (any combination of those listed on the table at the right)are allowed per circuit. Also may use optional detector remote lamp or detector relay as indicated on the applicable detector instructions.4.Positive and negative ground fault impedance threshold ≤40K ohms.P/N 315-083222-18SR O T C E T E D E L B I T A P M O C R O T C E T E D Y T I L I B I T A P M O C R E I F I T N E D I E S A B Y T I L I B I T A P M O C R E I F I T N E D I I /N O I T A L L A T S N G N I R I W I S N O I T C U R T S N H 3/3-I D H 3A -/3A -I D H3B -/3B -I D 11-T D T11-/11-E P S 3-B D S 3-B D P L I 3/I 3-D A P R 3/I R 3-D A P 3/I 3-A S 11-B D T P D A -B D h t i w S 3-B D 11-B D TP D A -B D h t i w S 3-B D 81-349180-513N /P 81-349180-513N /P 6-432390-513N /P 7-195680-513N /P 6-395680-513N /P 3-924590-513N /P 3-924590-513N /P 9-891490-513N /P 9-891490-513N/P re if i t n e d i y t i l i b i t a p m o c e h t s i S T 53-/S D 53-/53-U Z。

The vibrant financial district of Bonifacio Global City in Taguig recently saw the addition of two new modern office towers. The project was realized by W Group, a leading developer of office buildings in the city of 1.8 million inhabitants. The 25-story Citibank Plaza building offers 50,000 square meters of premium offices spaces. The W City Center boasts 55,000 square meters of offices on 29 stories plus three stories of retail space. The list of tenants is equally impressive: Global financial services provider Citibank occupies the entire Citibank Plaza building, while W City Center leases office spaces to a range of local and international enterprises.Different tenants – different needsIntegrated fire detection and voice alarm protects two new office buildings in Taguig City, Metro ManilaSolving the challenge of firesafety in mixed-use office towersCustomer storyMixed-use office towers combine multiple workspaces and retailers under one roof. Providing consistent fire safety for different tenants – each with different floor plans in their office spaces – can prove challenging from a security manager’s perspective. This is why premium developer W Group was looking for an integrated system to ensure the highest level of fire safety for its two latest office buildings in the financial district of Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City, Metro Manila. For an added layer of safety, the IP-based system provides full visibility of the current situation to operators: Each building floor is defined as its own zone, while thenetworked smoke detectors report the exact location of a fire down to a specific room. For ease of maintenance, the advanced detectors perform constant self-monitoring and send cleaning or replacement alerts to the Modular FireBosch Philippines won the contract to equip CitibankPlaza and W City Center with a scalable, IP-based solution. At both locations, Bosch experts installed optical smoke detectors – 2,000 units at Citibank Plaza and over 1,300 at W City Center – for quick and accurate fire detection. Centrally managed via the Modular Fire Panel 5000 Series, these addressable smoke detectors are supplemented by heat detectors and manual call points for end-to-end fire safety. Meeting a key client requirement from W Group, the number and positioning of detectors and other system components can be adjusted and expanded flexibly to meet every tenant’s floorplan.Full visibility for security managersPanel 5000 Series. At Citibank Plaza, the solution is also part of the Bosch Building Integration System (BIS). This integration allows operators to use the BIS Automation Engine as the graphical user interface (GUI) for monitoring and control of alarms. The system features Smart Safety Link, a direct interface between fire alarm and PLENA Voice Alarm System (VAS) from Bosch. It can be set up and configured easily and in a matter of minutes. By comparison, manually creating a point-to-point connection for ten evacuation zones would require up to two hours; or several days for a project of this size. During a fire or emergency, the Smart Safety Link allows operators to conduct an evacuation by zones in order of priority.Evacuation starts with occupants closest to the threat then moving on to adjacent floors. The PLENA VAS supportscoordinated evacuations with clear pre-recorded voice instructions enhanced by simultaneous horn and strobealarms. This efficient combination of fire alarm andvoice instructions has proven to achieve time savings for emergency responders. In day-to-day operations, the modular system is easy to expand and adapt to changing needs of different tenants, while the seamless interface between fire alarm and public address creates an end-to-end safety chain from earliest detection to orderly evacuationA more efficient approach to building evacuation“We find the Bosch team in the Philippines very responsive in addressing our needs, which iscrucial in this competitive environment, ”Francis Wee, CEO of W Landmark Inc.。
