For a hundred years or more he has been killed, captured, and imprisoned, in zoos. But even he was unable to discover how long the gorilla lives, or how or why it dies, nor was he able to define the exact social pattern of the family groups, or indicate the final extent of their intelligence. All this and many other things remain almost as much a mystery as they were when the French explorer Du Chaillu first described the animal to the civilized world a century ago. 宝钢英语等级考试（口试）考试大纲Syllabus forTest of Spoken English for Baosteel总则宝钢英语等级考试（口试）是由宝钢集团有限公司（以下简称宝钢集团）策划并委托上海外国语大学出国培训部设计和命题的系列考试。
本考试由集团公司人才开发院负责具体实施。
本考试始于1994年，至今已组织了35次口语考试。
现在，随着公司的不断发展，随着公司员工对英语口语要求的进一步提高，随着公司国际化经营战略的新需要，本集团公司特做如下规定：一、考试目的宝钢英语等级考试（口试）（英文名称Test of Spoken English for Baosteel）是由三个等级组成的英语口语系列考试。
考试的目的是为了全面提升本集团公司员工的英语口语水平，以适应公司的国际化经营战略。
考试的结果将作为本公司内部评价各类人员英语水平的依据。
二、考试性质本等级考试属于标准参照性考试（Criterion- referenced testing），其内容范围和考试难度完全以预先设定的标准（见以下各节）为参照依据．标准参照性质仅评估应试人员是否达到预先设定的水平要求，而不将应试人员之间成绩作比较。
三、考试对象凡本集团公司及其全资、控股子公司的在职员工，均可申报参加本等级考试，考试合格者，将取得相应等级合格证书。
证书的有效期为６年，期满要进行复证。
四、考试时间每年两次，在６月和１２月底各举办一次。
五、考试等级１、一级标准⑴能听懂技术谈判、外语讲座和外电广播(正常语速)；⑵能以正常语速进行口头交际、本专业技术交流，承担一般口译工作；２、二级标准⑴能听懂日常对话、讲演，以及外电广播的大意，语速为120词/分；⑵能进行日常口头交际，并能以稍慢的语速进行业务技术交流；３、三级标准⑴能听懂日常对话、技术谈判、学术报告等，语速为120词／分；⑵能基本表达思想，以缓慢的语速进行日常会话，参加简单的业务技术交流；六、考试题型和内容1）《宝钢实用英语》教材2）《大家学英语》3）《宝钢日报》等七、评分标准和设计方法1、一级评分标准1）内容的完整性----是否译完全部内容2）内容的准确性----在多大程度上准确地传达了内容3）表达的流畅性----语言表达的流利程度完整性和准确性达到90%者为通过。
