1.Read the whole passage quickly, identify the writing style and outline the passage.

2.Reread the passage, catch the key words which can reflect the main idea or core information.

anize the key information with your own words and polish the draft.

Getting rid of dirt, in the opinion of most people,is a good thing. However, there is nothing fixed about attitudes to dirt. In the early 16th century, people thought that dirt on the skin was a means to block out disease,as medical opinion had it that washing off dirt with hot water could open up the skin and let ills in. A particular danger was thought to lie in public baths. By 1538,the French king had closed the bath houses in his kingdom. So did the king of England in 1546. Thus began a long time when the rich and the poor in Europe lived with dirt in a friendly way. Henry IV,King of France, was famously dirty.Upon learning that a nobleman had taken a bath, the king ordered that, to avoid the attack of disease, the nobleman should not go out.Though the belief in the merit(好处) of dirt was long-lived,dirt has no longer been regarded as a nice neighbor ever since the 18th century. Scientifically speaking, cleaning away dirt is good to health. Clean water supply and hand washing are practical means of preventing disease. Yet,it seems that standards of cleanliness have moved beyond science since World War II. Advertisements repeatedly sell the idea:clothes need to be whiter than white, cloths ever softer, surfaces to shine. Has the hate for dirt, however, gone too far?Attitudes to dirt still differ hugely nowadays. Many first-time parents nervously try to warn their children off touching dirt, which might be responsible for the spread of disease. On the contrary,Mary Ruebush,an American immunologist(免疫学家), encourages children to play in the dirt to build up a strong immune system. And the latter(后者)position is gaining some ground. One possible versionAttitudes towards dirt have been changing over time. (要点1) In the 16th century, people believed that dirt on the skinhelped protect against disease. (要点2) Since the 18th century, however, people havedeveloped the belief that cleaning away dirt can prevent disease. (要点3)Today, although attitudes to dirt still differ sharply, more and more people choose to believe that playing in the dirt can help build up a strong immune. Attitudes towards dirt have been changing代替原文第一段的第二句话there is nothing fixed about attitudes to dirt;要点2用protect against disease 代替 block out against;要点3中用prevent disease代替 is good for health;要点4用 today 代替nowadays,用sharply代替hugely,用more and more people choose to believe 代替 gaining some ground;5.

2020年上海高考概要写作summary writing2(10篇,有解析)

Exercise 1Water is very important for living things. Without water there can be no life on the earth. All animals and plants need water. Man also needs water. Almost everyone knows that water covers three- fourths of the earth5s surface. Most of it, however, is in the oceans and is too salty to drink. Also, some of it is frozen and cannot be used. In fact, less than one percent is left for the use of people, animals and plant life. All through history men have tried to build their homes near the sources of fresh water. Now fresh water is becoming scarce, but more and more is needed because of the increasing number of people in the world. Some industries also use large amounts of fresh water in the production of things such as steel, petrol, paper, rubber and so on.Meanwhile, water problem is becoming more serious and more complex. Our increasing population tremendously increases urban wastes, primarily polluted water. On the other hand, increasing demands for water will decrease substantially the amount of water available for diluting(稀释)wastes. Rapidly expanding industries which involve more and more complex chemical processes will produce larger volume of liquid wastes, and many of these will contain chemicals which are poisonous. To feed our rapidly expanding population, agriculture will have to be intensified. This will involve ever-increasing quantities of agricultural chemicals.Scientists estimate that the problem of water shortage will become severe. Thus it is apparent that effective steps must be taken immediately to develop corrective measures for the pollution problem and to find new ways of saving and producing fresh water as well. Some nations have worked on the problem and are already sharing their information with others. They are trying to keep their rivers from becoming polluted. Deep wells are also being dug, and rain water is being collected in huge artificial lakes. In one way or another, they hope to provide enough water to satisfy the needs of their people. Water is essential for all the living things on the earth.(要点1) With the worldwide increase of population, more water is needed.(要点2) Meanwhile, water sources are getting polluted by poisonous chemical wastes produced by human beings in one way or another.(要点3) Thus measures are being taken to solve this problem, hoping to find better ways to save and producewater to meet the needs.

Attitudes towards dirt have beenchanging over time。

即“对象+性质功能+利弊”:(in the passage )the writer introduces…to us,especially its….,from which we know…(2)针对某个问题提出解决方式或办法。

The passage tells us…..So the author tells us how to ..,including……(3) 介绍某现象及其原因、结果。

The author talks about…..It is caused by….Asa result(consequently),….

1. In schools and at home, most of US have been scolded(责备) or even got punished fordaydreaming. The majority of people say that by daydreaming we waste our time and energy on something unproductive. But many medical studies have shown something different. Th ey’ve stressed the fact that daydreaming work s wonders on our imagination, creativity and situation-handling techniques. In fact, many problems can be easily solved if we daydream. The topmost benefit of daydreaming is that your mood gets the right improvement. By separating yourself from the world around you,you tend to enjoy the loneliness in your mind and get peace from daydreaming as you think about something that calms your senses. When you start imagining things, you will forget all the stress and tension(紧张) .Instead, you will get happiness from it and this happiness will turn into a source of energy that helps you work in a good mood. Many psycologists have said that people who daydream tend to have a sharper memory. It’s true. When you’re daydreaming, you’ll tend to get carried away to imagine various situations, either real or unreal. You tend to act differently in different situations, trying to satisfy your mind by doing what you want in your dreams. When your mind gets satisfied, you’re in a better position to concentrate more on your work. Since daydreaming activates (激活)the nerves of your brain, you tend to have higher attentiveness and your ability to remember things will develop. When you daydream, you automatically imagine yourself as your heart says and therefore, you get to know yourself better. You also s tart realizing the mistakes you’ve made in life and trying your best to avoid repeating them. Such imagination techniques help you to connect yourself with your soul._____________________________________________________________________________________________________ _____________________________________________________________________________________________________ _____________________________________________________________________________________________________ _____________________________________________________________________________________________________ _____________________________________________________________________________________________________ _____________________________________________________________________________________________________ _______________________________2. The poaching,or illegal(非法) killing,of rhinos(犀牛) in South Africa is growing worse each year. The government recently reported that a record number of rhinos were poached in 2021,a year which had more rhino killings in South Africa than ever before. The World Wildlife Fund,or WWF,says about 20,000 rhinos live in South Africa. That is more than 80 percent of the rhinos in the world.Edna Molewa,South Africa’s environmental issues minister, says,“During 2021,we are sad to say this:1,215 rhinos were killed. This is a rise in the number of poached rhinos from 1004 in 2021 and indeed very worrying.”The animals are hunted for their horns(犀牛角).Many people in Asia believe the horn has curing power, which drives poachers,at all costs, mad for more horns. But there is no scientific evidence for this belief. The horn is made of keratin. That is the same thing as human hair, fingernails and toenails.Ms.Mo1ewa said 386 suspected poachers were arrested last year,an increase from the year before. But rhino protection workers say poachers often go unpunished after arrest.South Africa’s legal system is ineffective.Ms.Molewa said more needs to be done and South Africa is taking strong measures to protect rhinos. The efforts include moving some of the animals to secret places in neighboring countries.“Now approximately 100 rhinos have been moved to neighboring states in the SADC region during 2021 and 200 more rhinos will be moved this year”Molewa said.Jo Shaw, the rhino program manager at the WWF,said,“we’re talking about a loss of a hundred rhinos a month.Or more than three a day.We really need to see effective action not just at a national level but internationally.”She says officials should find the criminal groups responsible for the poaching and punish them._____________________________________________________________________________________________________ _____________________________________________________________________________________________________ _____________________________________________________________________________________________________ _____________________________________________________________________________________________________ __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ _____________________________________________________________________________________________________ _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ _________________________________________________________________________________should think twice before rewarding their children's good behaviour with sweets, according to a leading nutritionist.Professor Susan Jebb, of Oxford University, says family attitudes should change as part of a wider strategy on tackling obesity(肥胖)- and there should be an alternative to the 'easy option' of handing out sweets to youngsters.Speaking to the Sunday Express, Prof Jebb said: 'Unless you instill(灌输) good eating habits from a young age, it is likely children will grow up to become overweight it is very difficult to persuade parents who see their children, who are a healthy weight, of the risks ahead.'Unlike with smoking, where the benefits of giving up are obvious with evidence showing that every single cigarette shortens your life, the same cannot be said for every single biscuit you eat.'She also welcomed last week's comments by David Cameron that Britain's obesity 'crisis' should be treated as seriously as smoking and that a tax on sugary drinks could be back on the agenda(议程). The Prime Minister hinted at an extraordinary U-turn amid growing public support for a 20 per cent said: 'I don't really want to put new taxes on anything but we do have to recognise that we face something of an obesity crisis'.Mr Cameron said the costs of diabetes, heart disease and cancer treatment for the overweight costs the NHS huge added: 'We do need to have a fully-worked-upprogramme to deal with this problem and address these issues in Britain and we will be making announcements later in the year'.Experts have also warned that obesity - fuelled by large amounts of sugar - is escalating at such a rate that it will cause almost 700,000 additional cases of cancer within the next 20 years, experts have say that being overweight is already 'the new norm' and predict that four in ten adults will be obese by 2035.Estimates also show that by this time obesity-related illnesses, including diabetes and heart disease, will cost the NHS more than £ billion a year.___________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________________________________________ expre ssion, “everybody’s doing it,” is very much at the center of the concept of peer pressure(同伴压力). It is a strong influence of a group, especially of children, on members of that group to behave as everybody else does. It can be positive or negative. Most people experience it in some way during their are social creatures by nature, and so it is hardly surprising that part of their self-respect comes from the approval of others. This instinct (本性) is why the approval of peers, or the fear of disapproval, is such a powerful force in many people’s lives. It is the sameinstinct that drives people to dress one way at home and another way at work, or to answer “fine” when a stranger asks “how are you?” even if it is not necessarily true. There is a practical aspect to this: it helps society to function efficiently, and encourages a general level of self-discipline that simplifies day-to-day interaction. For certain individuals, seeking social acceptance is so important that it becomes like an addiction; in order to satisfy the desire, they may go so far as to abandon their sense of right and wrong. Teens and young adults may feel forced to use drugs, or join gangs that encourage criminal behavior. Mature adults may sometimes feel pressured to cover up illegal activity at the company where they work, or end up in debt because they are unable to hold back the desire to buy a house or car that they can’t afford in an effort to “keep up with the Joneses.” However, peer pressure is not always negative. A student whose friends are good at academics may be urged to study harder and get good grades.Players on a sports team may feel driven to play harder in order to help the team win. This type of influence can also get a friend off drugs, or to help an adult take up a good habit or drop a bad one. Study groups and class projects are examples of positive peer groups that encourage people to better themselves. Schools try to teach kids about the dangers of negative peer pressure. They teach kids to stand up and be themselves, and encourage them to politely decline to do things that they believe are wrong. Similarly, it can be helpful to encourage children to greet the beneficial influence of positive peer groups.______________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ______________________Keys:1.Many people regard daydreaming as a waste of time and energy. In the early 16th century, people thought that dirt on the skin was a means to block out disease, as medical opinion had it that washing off dirt with hot water could open up the skin and let ills in. A particular danger was though to lie in public baths. By 1538, the French king had closed the bath houses in his kingdom. So did the king of England in 1546. Thus began a long time when the rich and the poor in Europe lived with dirt in a friendly way. Henry IV, King of France, was famously dirty. Upon learning that a nobleman had taken a bath, the king ordered that, to avoid the attack of disease, the nobleman should not go out. Though the belief in the merit (好处) of dirt was long-lived, dirt has no longer been regarded as a nice neighbor ever since the 18 century. Scientifically speaking, cleaning away dirt is good to health. Clean water supply and hand washing are practical means of preventing disease. Yet, it seems that standards of cleanliness have moved beyond science since World War II. Advertisements repeatedly sell the idea: clothes need to be whiter than white, cloths ever softer, surfaces to shine. Has the hate for dirt, however, gone too far? Attitudes to dirt still differ hugely nowadays. Many first-time parents nervously try to warn their children off touching dirt, which might be responsible for the spread of disease. On the contrary, Mary Ruebush, an American immunologist (免疫学家), encourages children to play in the dirtto build up a strong immune system. And the latter (后者) position is gaining some ground. A summary is a short account giving the main points of something longer or detailed.

Yesterday Matt was sick.I picked up Archie from the sitter and Eloise from school and decided to run to Target for a few things.I had hoped to be in and out quickly.I found a line with just one person ahead of me and began organizing my items on the conveyor. After placing my items,I looked up to see that the person ahead of me was an elderly woman. She was paying for her items with change and wanted to purchase each separately.I was frustrated with this woman and the inconvenience she had placed on me.But then I watched the young employee with this woman.I watched him help her count her change, ever so softly taking it from her shaking hands. When she asked if she had enough to buy a reusable bag,he told her she did and went two lines over to get one for her and then repackaged her items.Never once was this employee angry. He was nothing but patient and kind.As I was watching him,I saw that Eloise was too.She was standing next to the woman, watching the employee count the chang e.I realized I hadn’t been inconvenienced at all. That my daughter was instead witnessing kindness and patience and being taught this valuable lesson by a complete stranger. When the woman was finished, the employee began ringing up my items and thanked me for my patience.I then thanked him for teaching us patience and kindness by his treatment of that elderly woman. When he was finished I pushed my cart through the store trying to find the manager.I wanted her to know of the employee’s kindness and patience a nd how much it meant to me.After tracking her down and sharing the story with her,we left Target with a cart full of consumable items, but what is more,a heart full of gratitude for such an invaluable lesson. If you are ever in the Glendale Target, give Ishmael a smile and a nod.The world could use more people like him.________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________【写作指导】要写好记叙文的概要,先要找到以下两个问题的答案:(1)谁做了什么?(2)结果如何?

No one would be willing to pay one-third of the price for the packaging or wrapping of what he or she purchases. But over-packaging has become a disease that leads to a massive waste of resources and contributes to environmental pollution in China.Behind this disease are some appalling figures. The wasted packaging materials are estimated to be worth about 280 billion yuan annually. And such packages and wrappings thrown away by customers make up half of the volume of solid waste in cities. And its percentage has been increasing. If the cost for treating the solid waste is included, the money that has been wasted on over-packaging should be much higher. To produce paper packagings or wrappings, many more trees have to be cut down. But the packagings will then be thrown away by consumers. The same is true with plastic wrappings. Over-packaging also damage the interest of consumers when they have to spend quite a high percentage on something that they will have to throw into the dustbin.Product packaging and wrapping used to be very simple 30 years ago. Moon cakes were wrapped just in papers with a piece of red paper on top as trademark. "Shabby" was the word many had used to criticize the way Chinese products were packaged. And shabby packaging was condemned for making Chinese products unattractive in the international market. It is reasonable to pay enough attention to packaging or wrapping products in such a manner that they can be appealing to customers' eyes. But that does not definitely justify that packaging should even outshine what is inside. In the Chinese proverb, maidu huanzhu, the buyer returns the pearl and just keeps the case because the latter is too fancy and luxurious. The message from the proverb is that over-packaginghelps cultivate an unhealthy consuming mentality--- to buy fancy-looking stuff but not what they really need. This is also against the principle of frugality and sustainable development.【思维路径】[核心内容]本文是一篇议论文,全文共有六段。

Although being famous might sound like a dream come true, today's stars, feeling like zoo animals, face pressures that few of us can imagine. They are at the center of much of the world's attention. Paparazzi(狗仔队) camp outside their homes, cameras ready. Tabloids(小报) publish thrilling stories about their personal lives. Just imagine not being able to do anything without being photographed or interrupted for a signature. According to the psychologists, celebrities(名人) worry constantly about their public appearance. Eventually, they start to lose track of who they really are, seeing themselves the way their fans imagine them, not as the people they were before everyone knew their names. Over time, they feel separated and alone. The phenomenon of tracking celebrities has been around for ages. In the 4th century B.C., painters followed Alexander the Great into battle, hoping to picture his victories for his admirers. When Charles Dickens
visited Americain the 19th century, his sold-out readings attracted thousands of fans, leading him to complain about
his lack of privacy. Tabloids of the 1920s and 1930s ran articles about film-stars in much the same way that modern tabloids and websites do. Being a public figure today, however, is a lot more difficult than it used to be.Superstars cannot move about without worrying about photographers with modern cameras. When they say something silly or do something ridiculous, there is always the Internet to spread the news in minutes and keep their "story" alive forever. If fame is so troublesome, why aren't all celebrities running away from it? The answer is there are still ways to deal with it. Some stars stay calm by surrounding themselves with trusted friends and family or by escaping to remote places away from big cities. They focus not on how famous they are but on what they love to do or whatever made them famous in the first place. With these effective approaches, some celebrities relieve the stress and remain popular with fans. Consequently, though being famous is driving some stars crazy, some wise ones enjoy what reputation brings them.

Currently, celebrities, with their privacy being disturbed by fans, are confronted with high pressures.

Psychologists say that celebrities focus too much on their public image, leaving themselves cut off and isolated.

In fact, the same problem has existed for long, but today's celebrities have more challenges to face.

Therefore, to tackle the problem, some wise celebrities give priority to doing what they like rather than doing something stressful.
