Basic power up
The server can be powered on after the following cables are connected: - Power cables - All I/O cables - Universal Power Interface Cable (UPIC) Cables - All PCI cables to supported subsystems After the required cables are installed, and the power cables are connected, the power button on the operator panel can be pushed to initialize the system. You can also power the system up via the HMC, which we discuss in the following visuals. Progress indicators, also referred to as checkpoints, are visible on the operator panel display and the power LED stops blinking and stays on, indicating the system power is on. The processor subsystem and I/O subsystems are powered on via the system power control network (SPCN). When power is applied, the power LEDs go from blinking to on continuously, and LEDs on any I/O subsystems come on and stay on. This indicates that power levels are satisfactory in the subsystems.

关于IBM Thinkpad型号的说明1、系列、机型、型号的定义:系列(Series),是采用同一设计理念或者同样目标客户的一类机型的总称,例如IBM R系列面向家用客户、T系列面向商用客户、X系列面向追求轻薄的客户。

机型(Ty pe),是采用同一设计同一模具同一外形的一类型号的总称,例如T23, T30, T40, T41, X30, X31, X40, R40e, R40, R50等等,每一种机型还有对应的Ty pe number,例如T23对应2647,X31对应2672,R50对应1829,R40对应2681,R40e对应2684,T40和T41对应的2373等等,只要Ty pe Number不同,就表明采取了不同的设计以及不同的外形模具;值得注意的是,T40和T41的Ty pe Number都是2373,没错,因为T40和T41的设计、外形、模具、重量都完全一样,机器内部的主板板型、外部端口位置也都完全相同,所以T41机器的说明书都仍沿使用T40的,无须额外印刷。

型号(Model),是对应特定硬件、软件配置的某一款型号,每一个型号(Model Number)都由三个字母决定。

2、型号和配置的关系:一般来说,IBM机型公开型号(Model Number)都是三个字母组成,前两个说明了对应不同配置的型号名称,例如T40 14x,12x,19x,72x,7C x,82x,8C x,92x,G1x,还有T41 1Hx, 1F x, 3F x, 7F x, 7Kx, 9F x, GEx等等,还有X31 B3x,BC x,C3x,C Bx,G3x,GC x,N3x,NC x诸如此类,每个机型都有数十种乃至上百种型号,代表不同的硬件配置、键盘语言,甚至只是操作系统的区别。

例如T23 LU5和LU7,前者预装w in2000英文专业版,后者预装w in2000英文家庭版,其余完全一样,还有X31 B3H和B2H也是只存在这个区别。

中文名IBM服务器系列外文名IBM server family分类产品线系列属于IBM服务器IBM的服务器产品线非常齐全,从入门级服务器到大型服务器,一应俱有。

因为产品非常之多,所以产品系列的分类标准也是多种多样,下面从总体上分析一下IBM的系列产品分类标准。

IBM eServer家族目前总体来说是拥有4条产品线:i系列(ISERIES)、p系列(pSeries)、x系列(xSeries)和z系列(zSeries)。

这四个系列中基本都包括了从入门级到企业级各种档次的服务器产品,在结构上也基本上全面包括了塔式、机架式、刀片和机柜式。

下面简单说明这4个系列产品的定位。

p系列:p系列服务器运行AIX(IBM版Unix)和Linux,产品丰富,既有可配置32路处理器的p690(如图1左图所示),也有中端和入门级产品p610(如图1右图所示)。

p系列是IBM Unix服务器产品线的根基。

p系列基于IBM的Power处理器,拥有了最宽的Unix 产品线,从极小的1路或2路的入门级服务器系统一直到多达32路的大型机系统都一应俱有。

在结构上,可以是机架式,也可以机柜式。

其Unix产品线在可伸缩性方面享有独特优势。

目前主流的P系列产品为p630和p650两个型号。

这是IBM基于英特尔的服务器系列。

IBM的这个产品线非常丰富,包含了从入门级到企业级的所有级别服务器产品;在服务器结构上,既有传统的塔式,也有新兴起的机架式和刀片式,还有企业级的机柜式。
