The oppressed were discontent, so they united to fight against them. Finally, they established the United States. Since then, the nation had started its exploration and development. Over the 200 years, from 1776 up to now, the country has advanced a lot and become the most eye-catching nation. To some extent, the United States is leading the times. Looking back at its process of development, we can see that there are so many reasons. Basically, it depends on its advantageous geography. Then, some social factors matter a lot, such as immigrants, education, politics and economic policies. America’s rise has provided us with a lot of meaningful experience. 美国最早的首都是纽约，现在美国首都华盛顿，华盛顿哥伦比亚特区(Washington D.C.) 。

美国首都华盛顿全称叫做：华盛顿哥伦比亚特区 (Washington D.C.) 。
首都名称包含了两位历史人物，名字显了同时纪念对美国有著开天辟地重大影响两位伟大人物。
这位美国首任总统华盛顿1775年7月3日华盛顿任大陆军总司令把支组织松散、训练足、装备落、给养匮乏主要由地方民军组成队伍整编和锻炼成支能与英军正面抗衡正规军终击败英军取得了北美独立战争胜利，1789年华盛顿当选美国第任总统；1793年再度当选总统1796年9月17日华盛顿发表告别词表示不再出任总统，从而开创美国历史上摒弃终身总统和平转移权力范例次年回维农山庄园过著平民生活
因华盛顿对美国独立作出重大贡献被尊美国国父。
1848--1884年特区建立了华盛顿纪念碑，纪念位国父纪念碑也成了华盛顿特区著名而显目地标之华盛顿，遗嘱捐赠了部分资金当地建立所大学而所大学来便命名乔治华盛顿大学，今天华盛顿脸庞和肖像通常被作美国国际象征标志之并也成了旗帜和国玺图像或许普遍1美元钞票和25美分硬币上肖像了
另位1492年发现美洲新大陆意大利航海家哥伦布哥伦布，年轻时十分崇拜曾热亚坐过监狱马．波罗读过《马·波罗游记》十分向往印度和国当时地圆说已经盛行哥伦布也深信疑先向葡萄牙、西班牙、英国、法国等国国王请求资助实现向西航行达东方国家计划都遭拒绝方面地圆说理论尚十分完备许多人相信把哥伦布看成江湖骗子。
哥伦布实现自己计划处游说了，十几年直1492年西班牙王慧眼识英雄说服了国王甚至要拿出自己私房钱资助哥伦布使哥伦布计划才得实施。
1492年8月3日，哥伦布受西班牙国王派遣带着给印度君主和国皇帝国书，率领三艘百十来吨帆船从西班牙巴罗斯港杨帆出大西洋直向正西航去。
经七十昼夜艰苦航行1492年10月12日凌晨终于发现了陆地哥伦布达了印度来知道哥伦布登上块土地属于现美洲巴勒比海巴哈马群岛当时命名圣萨尔瓦多。
1493年3月15日哥伦布回西班牙此又三次重复向西航行又登上了美洲许多海岸，直1506年逝世直认达印度来叫做亚美利哥意大利学者经过更多考察才知道哥伦布达些地方印度而原来人知新大陆哥伦布发现了新大陆块大陆却用证实新大陆人名字命了名：亚美利加洲。
来对于谁早发现美洲断出现各种微词哥伦布发现新大陆结论容置疑因当时，欧洲乃至亚洲、非洲整旧大陆人们确实知大西洋彼岸有此大陆至于谁先达美洲则另外问题因美洲土著居民本身远古时期从亚洲迁徙过去。
美国首都名称同时包含了华盛顿和哥伦布两位历史人物名字。
我们实该遗忘其位而知有意还无意我们国人总轻易地把发现美洲新大陆意大利航海家哥伦布忘掉了，也许国人从内心敬佩郑和下西洋我们更愿意相信郑和发现了美洲新大陆郑和下西洋确实国历史上灿烂辉煌航海传奇。
郑和於西元四O五年奉明朝永乐皇帝只命首度下西洋西元四三三年其所率领第七次下西洋船队返抵国历时二十八年远航壮举终於年划上了句点，而规模庞大航海壮举却因史籍缺乏而被湮没时光洪流裏六百年後今天我们试图回工艺发展与航海科技均当时世界之明初盛世并循著郑和下西洋足迹从国东南亚访印度及阿拉伯半岛并远至非洲东岸试图结合历史文献、现场采访及专家学者研究成复原场谜雾重重历史解读段国壮丽航海史诗。
美国最早的首都是纽约，因为那是最早发动独立战争的主要地方，也是经济商贸比较发达的地方。
但后来人们觉得首都作为一个国家的政治中心应该远离商业（估计是避免沾染太多“铜臭”气吧），于是迁都费城，这就有了独立宫和自由钟。
可随后的争议来自“内讧”。
最早承认并加入美利坚合众国的州有十三个，有来自南方的，也有来自北方的。
那么，首都定在南方还是北方，就成为争议的焦点。
谁都希望首都靠自己近，近水楼台先得月嘛，个中的好处自然谁都知道。
但这样争下去不是办法，闹不好，刚独立的国家就要分裂（分成“南美”国和“北美”国，也未可知）。
这的确是个令人头疼的问题，需要大智慧者来搞定。
华盛顿想出了一个“绝招”：以波多马克河为界，代表北方的马里兰州划出10平方英里的土地，代表南方的弗吉尼亚州划出10平方英里的土地，拼在一
起，大约是个方形（波多马克河穿越对角线），命名为“哥伦比亚特区”，作为美国的首都。
这个方案得到了南北双方的认可，这就有了现在的美国首都，后人为纪念华盛顿，再加上他的名字，就成了华盛顿哥伦比亚特区（国人常简称“华盛顿DC”）。
这也是世界上少有的不依靠已有的城市而是在一块新地上兴建一个城市做首都的国家。
这也恰好为首都日后较好的建设规划打下了基础。
华盛顿的智慧就在于在看似无解中找到一解，否则怎么有资格做“总”统呢。
而这一解，在中国人看来，其实并不稀奇，中庸之道、辩证平衡嘛，我们老祖宗早就提出的思想。
不知当年华盛顿有没有学过孔子和老子的学说？如果有学过，告知天下，那这个定都的功劳要算在中国国学的名份上，或许美国首都就该叫“老孔特区”？
世界上很多事情都有这类问题，好东西大家都想要，便宜大家都想沾，心理学上叫“双趋式冲突”。
如何平衡各方利益，是解决问题的关键。
中庸之道、阴阳平衡，作为中国国学经典，给我们提供了解决之道。
人际关系如此，如亲子关系、夫妻关系、同事关系、上下级关系、劳资关系，群体、国家之间的关系也是如此。
历史上用人、用钱、用土地换和平的，并不鲜见。
大家都退让一步，海阔天空。
可现在为什么就有那么些人用“战争”、“强权”“求和平”甚至求非份之利呢？这应该不是智慧（智力）问题，是德行问题。
