I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. The judges had their work cut out for them, that's for sure. I mean, how do you even begin to compare all those amazing speeches? It must have been a tough decision for them. But in the end, I think they made the right call. The winner really deserved it.The best part, though, was the sense of community. Because at the end of the day, it's not about winning or losing – it's about coming together and sharing our voices. And that's something worth celebrating.。
第一次演讲比赛英语作文 (1)
My First Speech ContestI still vividly remember the day of my first speech contest like it was just yesterday. It was a milestone in my life, filled with both anticipation and trepidation. The event was organized by our school to encourage public speaking skills among students, and I, being an introverted teenager, had reluctantly signed up for it, driven by a desire to push myself out of my comfort zone. The weeks leading up to the contest were a blur of preparation. I spent countless hours poring over various topics, trying to find one that resonated with me and would captivate my audience. After much deliberation, I settled on a topic that touched on the power of perseverance and how it shapes our lives. I wrote and rewrote my speech countless times, refining each sentence, each word, until I felt confident that it conveyed my message effectively. As the day of the contest approached, my nerves began to fray. I practiced my speech in front of the mirror, to my family, and even to my stuffed animals, trying to get rid of the butterflies in my stomach. Despite my efforts, I couldn't shake off the feeling of impending doom. What if I forget my lines? What if I stumble over my words? What if the audience doesn't like what I have to say?The morning of the contest dawned bright and sunny, but my heart was heavy with anxiety. I arrived at the auditorium early, taking in the hustle and bustle of students and teachers preparing for the event. My name was called, and with a deep breath, I stepped onto the stage. The moment I faced the audience, all my worries seemed to melt away. The bright lights, the sea of faces staring back at me, and the hum of the crowd's chatter faded into the background. I began my speech, my voice steady and clear. As I spoke, I felt a sense of freedom and empowerment that I had never experienced before. I wasn't just reciting words; I was sharing a piece of myself, my beliefs, and my story. The minutes flew by, and before I knew it, I was saying my closing remarks. I finished my speech to thunderous applause, feeling a surge of joy and accomplishment. Even if I didn't win, I knew that I had achieved something remarkable. I had overcome my fear of public speaking and had presented my ideas with confidence and passion. When the results were announced, and my name was called out as one of the winners, I was overjoyed. It was a validation of my hard work and a testament to the fact that with perseverance and courage, we can achieve anything we set our minds to.My first speech contest taught me invaluable lessons about self-confidence, perseverance, and the power of vulnerability. It was a defining moment in my life, one that I will always cherish and remember with fondness.。

When my English teacher Mrs. Roberts announced it in class last week, I felt butterflies fluttering in my tummy. She said my name and told me I had been selected to compete against students from other elementary schools across the city. At first I thought she must have made a mistake, but then she smiled at me and nodded. It was really true!I've always loved speaking English, ever since I was a little kid. My parents don't speak much English at home, but they played English videos and read me English storybooks when I was younger to help me learn. I picked it up pretty quickly. Now English is my favorite subject in school – I love the rhythms and sounds of the language. Sometimes I even think in English instead of my native language! When I'm reading out loud in English class, Mrs. Roberts always compliments me on my clear pronunciation and expressive voice. I guess that's why she chose me for the speech contest. I'll have to prepare and memorize an original speech to deliver in front of a big audience and a panel of judges. The thought makes me a little nervous, but mostly I'm just really excited! As soon as I got home from school, I told my parents the big news. "I'm going to be in the English speech contest!" I exclaimed as I burst through the front door. My little sister Mei trailed along behind me looking confused."The English speech contest?" my mom repeated, her eyes going wide with surprise. "That's amazing, I'm so proud of you!" She pulled me into a tight hug. My dad came over and ruffled my hair proudly."My son, the English speaker!" he boomed in his thick accent. He can't say much more than a few basic English phrases.Mei tugged on my shirt. "What's the English speech contest?" she asked. At six years old, she's just starting to learn English basics at school.I puffed out my chest importantly. "It means I'm going to give a speech, all in English, in front of hundreds of people! And there will be judges watching to see who is the best." I lowered my voice to a whisper. "If I win, I'll get a big trophy!"Mei's eyes grew wide. "Woahhh, you're gonna be famousss," she drew out the word, impressed. I grinned at the thought. It would be pretty cool to be a famous English speaker, I had to admit.Over the next few weeks, I worked really hard preparing for the contest. I decided to write my speech about my favorite book series, following the hero's epic journey through a magical fantasy world. I brainstormed all the key points I wanted to make, like how the brave hero overcomes obstacles by believing篇3My Adventure at the English Speech ContestHi everyone! 讲述自我演讲比赛经历以及收获的英语作文全文共5篇示例,供读者参考篇1My Super Duper Speech Contest Adventure!Hi everyone! My name is Emma and I'm 10 years old. I just had the most exciting experience and I can't wait to tell you all about it! A few months ago, my teacher Mrs. Roberts told our class that we could enter a big speech contest. The contest was all about getting up on stage and introducing yourself to everyone. At first, I was really nervous. Speaking in front of a bunch of people?? No way, Jose! I'm kind of a shy girl and the thought of that made my tummy do flip flops. But then I remembered how much I love telling stories and talking to my friends and family. I'm a total chatterbox once you get me going! So I decided to go for it. I started working on my speech right away. I wanted to make sure I covered all the good stuff - like my favorite things, my family, what I want to be when I grow up. The hardest part was trying to fit it all into just a few minutes. There was so much I wanted to say! Finally, after a ton of practicing (my poor parents had to listen to me like a million times!), it was speech contest day. I had on my lucky rainbow socks and I braided my hair super tight so it wouldn't be in my face. When they called my name, I marched right up to that microphone like I owned the place. At first, my hands were shaking a little bit. But then I looked out at the audience full of smiling faces - there were my mom and dad, giving me two big thumbs up. And my best friend Sophia doing one of her crazy cheers from the front row. Seeing them made me feel brave and confident. This was just like talking to my friends! So I launched into my speech, making sure to speak nice and loud into the microphone. I told everyone all about my favorite foods (pepperoni pizza and ice cream, duh!), and my favorite subjects in school (art class and gym). I bragged about my awesome big brother who is going to be in the Olympics one day for skateboarding. And of course, I revealed my top secret dream for the future - to be a famous comedian like Ellen DeGeneres when I grow up! I want to make the whole world laugh.About halfway through, I was in my groove and completely forgot to be nervous. It felt so good to share all the things that make me ME. By the end, I even added in a few jokes I made upmyself to leave the audience laughing. When I finished up, everyone burst into applause and cheering. I felt a million feet tall! While I waited for the judges to decide on the winners, I got to listen to all the other kids' speeches too. It was so cool to learn about my classmates' lives and dreams. Timmy wants to be an astronaut, Jessie's family is from Puerto Rico, Ryan can already name all 50 states - we're all so different and unique! Finally, it was time for the results. They called out the 3rd place winner...then 2nd place....and then..."And in 1st place, Emma Richardson!" I WON?? I seriously never expected that. I was so surprised and happy, I just froze on stage for a second until Mrs. Roberts gave me a little nudge. Then I bounced up to grab my blue ribbon and trophy, grinning from ear to ear.Participating in the speech contest was one of the coolest experiences ever. Sure, winning that shiny trophy was awesome. But the best part was getting to share my story and myself in a big way. It helped me get over my shyness and gave me a ton of confidence. Now I'm way more comfortable just being myself in front of others!I also realized how important it is to celebrate what makes each person special. We're all a little different, but that's whatmakes the world such a cool, colorful place. It would be so boring if we were all the same! So I want to keep working on my speaking skills and maybe even enter more contests. Who knows, I might really become a comedian when I'm older after all. Either way, I know I'll never be afraid to let my unique voice and personality shine through again. So that's my big speech contest story! Thanks for reading, friends. Now tell me - what's something you want the whole world to know about YOU?? Don't be shy, raise your hand and share! Maybe you'll be the next big winner.篇2My Big Speech DayWow, where do I even start? Giving a speech in front of the whole school was probably the scariest thing I've ever done! But you know what? I survived, and I'm really proud of myself for doing it. Let me tell you all about my big speech day.It all started a few weeks ago when my teacher, Mrs. Jenkins, told our class about this thing called the "Self-Introduction Speech Contest." She said we would all have to get up on stage and talk for a few minutes, introducing ourselves and our interests to the whole school! My stomach immediately filledwith butterflies. Public speaking has always been one of my biggest fears. Just the thought of it made me want to hide under my desk. But Mrs. Jenkins said it would be really good practice for building our confidence and communications skills. She also said the winner would get a big trophy and prize. That prize got my competitive spirit fired up! I decided right then and there that I was going to work my hardest and try my best to win this thing. The first step was writing out my speech. Mrs. Jenkins gave us a checklist of things we needed to cover, like our name, age, family members, hobbies, future dreams, and what makes us unique. I spent a long time drafting and revising my speech to make sure it had a good intro, lots of fun details, and an ending that would leave everyone feeling inspired.Next came the practice, practice, and more practice. I must have rehearsed my speech a hundred times - in the mirror, for my parents, even for our dog Buster. The more I practiced, the less nervous I felt. My voice got louder and more confident. I started using hand gestures and motions to go along with my words. Before I knew it, I had my speech down pat. Then finally, the big day arrived - the Self-Introduction Speech Contest! We all gathered in the auditorium, which waspacked with students, teachers, and families. There was a big stage with a podium and microphone set up. I've never seen so many people in one place before. My hands were shaking and my heart was pounding out of my chest. One by one, my classmates took the stage to deliver their speeches. Some were good, some were a little shaky, but everyone got through it. Finally, it was my turn. I took a deep breath, straightened my back, and walked up to that podium like I owned the place. Then I looked out at the audience, smiled my biggest smile, and launched into my speech:"Hi everyone! My name is Jamie, and I'm going to tell you a little bit about myself today..."As I spoke, everything else just melted away. It was just me, the podium, and my words. All the practice paid off because my speech flowed smoothly without any big mistakes. I shared all about my family, how I'm an only child but always wanted a sibling, especially a brother to play sports with. I talked about my passion for art and how I want to be a designer when I grow up. I even did a little twirl at the end to show off my love of dancing. When I finished, the audience erupted in cheers and applause. I could see my parents' beaming smiles from the front row. At that moment, I felt absolutely electric, like I was on top ofthe world! All the nerves andworry had disappeared. Giving that speech was one of the most empowering, rewarding experiences of my life so far.A couple days later, they announced that I won first place and the grand prize! I was over the moon. But the trophy almost didn't even matter to me at that point. Just being able to accomplish something I was so afraid of, and realize I had the ability to speak confidently in front of people - that was the greatest prize of all. This speech contest taught me so many valuable lessons. I learned that hard work, preparation, and believing in yourself can help you overcome any fear or obstacle. I realized that putting yourself out there is always worth it, because the payoff of accomplishing your goals feels absolutely incredible. But most importantly, I discovered my own inner strength, poise and ability to achieve anything I set my mind to.I'm never going to forget this experience. In fact, I hope I'll have many more opportunities to public speak in the future. This little taste of overcoming my fear has given me ninja confidence! Who knows, maybe I'll grow up to be a famous motivational speaker or leader someday. But no matter what, I'll always lookback on my big speech day as a huge milestone and special moment that helped me grow. Pretty cool for a kid, huh?篇3My Super Awesome Speech Contest Adventure!Hi everyone! My name is Jamie and I'm 10 years old. I just had the most exciting experience and I can't wait to tell you all about it! A few weeks ago, my teacher Mrs. Robinson announced that our class would be having a self-introduction speech contest. At first, I wasn't sure if I wanted to enter because public speaking can be pretty scary, especially in front of the whole class. But my best friend Sophia encouraged me to give it a try. She said it would be a great way to practice speaking in front of others, which is an important life skill. After thinking it over, I decided to go for it!The first step was to write out my speech. Mrs. Robinson said it needed to be 2-3 minutes long and we had to introduce ourselves by sharing some fun facts and interests. I spent a long time brainstorming ideas and finally settled on talking about my love of art, reading, and my silly pet bunny Fluffkins. Once I had outlined what I wanted to say, the actual writing part was really difficult for me. I'm much better at telling stories out loud thanputting thoughts into words on paper. I must have rewritten my speech like a million times before I felt ready to start practicing! The next big challenge was the rehearsal process. I'm the type of person who gets really nervous speaking in front of others, even my own family. My palms get all sweaty, my stomach feels queasy, and I stumble over my words. Practicing in front of my parents was so embarrassing at first! But they were super supportive and gave me tips like maintaining eye contact, speaking slowly and clearly, and using hand motions to engage the audience. Little by little, I got more comfortable delivering my speech out loud. Finally, the day of the contest arrived! I woke up that morning feeling a mix of excitement and nerves. When I got to school, some of the other contestants looked so calm and confident. A part of me wanted to back out, but I remembered how hard I had worked and decided to see it through to the end.The contest kicked off after lunch in our school auditorium. There were even real judges from the community that would be scoring each speech! As the first few kids went up, I felt my heart pounding harder and harder. Before I knew it, Mrs. Robinson was calling my name to come up to the stage. With shaky legs, I walked up to the microphone and looked out at the sea of facesstaring back at me. I took a deep breath and reminded myself of my parents' advice to imagine I was just talking to them.In that moment, all my practice paid off. The words I had memorized started flowing smoothly and I was able to get through my speech without any major slip-ups! I even remembered to make eye contact, gesture with my hands, and smile. When I finished, the audience burst into applause which made me beam with pride. What a rush!Although I didn't end up winning one of the top prizes, I walked away from that experience feeling like a champion. Sure, public speaking is still a little scary for me. But now I know that with good preparation and a positive mindset, I can conquer just about any challenge. I'm so grateful to have had the opportunity to step out of my comfort zone in a supportive environment.Since the speech contest, I've noticed feeling more confident when it comes to raising my hand in class, introducing myself to new people, or speaking up in group settings. It's like a little voice inside me says "you've got this!" instead of the old shy, hesitant voice I used to hear. I know the skills I've developed will benefit me for many years to come in all kinds of situations. My advice to anyone feeling apprehensive about public speaking or trying something new? Don't let fear hold you back!Start small by practicing in front of a mirror or close friends and family. It's okay if you feel nervous, that's totally normal. But remind yourself that feeling prepared and believing in your abilities is half the battle. If an opportunity comes your way to push yourself, take it! You may surprise yourself by how capable and brave you can be. Just think of how accomplished you'll feel after giving it your best effort.Well, that's the story of my super awesome speech contest adventure! Thanks for letting me share my experience with all of you. I'm definitely going to keep working on my public speaking skills because who knows what amazing opportunities lie ahead. Maybe one day you'll even see me giving a famous acceptance speech (a girl can dream!). But for now, I'm just proud of myself for facing my fears and leaving that auditorium stage with a huge smile :)篇4My Super Cool Speech Experience!Hi everyone! My name is Alex and I'm 10 years old. I just had the most amazing experience that I can't wait to tell you all about.A few weeks ago, my teacher Mrs. Henderson announced that our class would be having a self-introduction speech contest. Atfirst, I wasn't sure if I wanted to do it because speaking in front of a big audience seemed really scary. But my best friend Samantha said she was going to enter, so I decided to give it a try too!The first thing we had to do was write a speech introducing ourselves. Mrs. Henderson said it could be about anything we wanted, as long as it helped the audience get to know us better. I thought really hard about what to talk about. I loved playing sports, especially basketball and soccer. I'm also really into reading fantasy books and playing video games. Oh, and I have the cutest puppy named Rufus! After a few days of brainstorming, I finally decided my speech would be about my monster truck collection and how it got started. I have over 100 monster trucks of all different sizes, colors and designs. My oldest one is from when I was just a baby!I spent a few days writing my speech, making sure to describe my favorite trucks in lots of detail. I even brought in a couple to show during my speech.Once our speeches were written, it was time to start practicing. Mrs. Henderson had us all practice in front of the class a few times to get used to speaking in front of people. I was super nervous the first couple times, but it actually helped a lot to get that practice. I learned some good tips too, like makingeye contact with the audience and speaking slowly and clearly. Samantha and I also practiced at home together which made it less scary. Finally, the day of the big speech contest arrived! The whole school gathered in the auditorium and there was even a panel of judges - the principal, a teacher from another class, and a parent volunteer. When it was my turn, I took a deep breath, walked up to the microphone, and launched into my speech about my beloved monster truck collection. About halfway through, I was able to relax and just have fun with it. I made sure to show my trucks to the audience and even did a little monster truck race sound effect! When I was done, everyone clapped and cheered. The judges had smiles on their faces, so I felt like my speech went really well. After all the speeches were finished, the judges huddled together to decide on the winners. I didn't really care if I won or not at that point - I was just proud that I did it! But then they announced that I had won 2nd place I was soooo excited, I could barely walk up to receive my medal and certificate. Samantha ended up winning 1st place, which made me really happy for her. That night, my parents took me out for a celebratory dinner at my favorite pizza place. As I munched on my pepperoni pizza, I thought about everything I had gained from this experience. First of all, I conquered my fear of public speaking - something that will really help me in the future. I also learned how to organize my thoughts and put together a good speech. But most importantly, I walked away with a big confidence boost. If I can get up on stage in front of so many people and crush that speech, I realized I can do anything I set my mind to!The next day at school, Samantha and I were little celebrities. Everyone wanted to hear about our big night. I felt so proudre-telling the story of my monster truck speech finale. Some kids even asked to see my truck collection! Thanks to this contest, public speaking doesn't seem so scary anymore. Who knows, maybe I'll grow up to be a motivational speaker or politician. I'm just excited to see what new challenges await me next. Bring it on, world - I'm ready!篇5My Big Speech AdventureWow, what an amazing experience I had! I'm going to tell you all about the time I entered a self-expression speech contest. It was super exciting and a little bit scary too, but I learned so much. Let me start from the very beginning! It all started when my teacher, Mrs. Jones, told our class about this really cool opportunity. She said there was going to be a big speech competition where kids got to write and perform their very own original speeches in front of judges. The best speeches would even win prizes! As soon as I heard about it, I knew I just had to enter. You see, I've always loved talking in front of people and sharing my thoughts and ideas. My parents always joke that I'm a little chatterbox who never runs out of things to say. And writing creative stories is one of my absolute favorite activities. So a contest where I got to combine public speaking and writing? Sign me up!The first step was to choose a topic for my speech. Mrs. Jones said we could pick any subject we felt passionate about, as long as it was appropriate for school. I thought and thought about what really mattered to me. Finally, I decided - my topic would be the importance of kindness!Kindness is something I try hard to practice every single day. Whether it's helping my little brother tie his shoes, donating some of my gently used toys to kids who need them, or justsmiling and saying hello to someone who looks sad, I love finding ways to spread joy and brighten people's days. The world can be a tough place sometimes, but a simple act of kindness can make all the difference. With my topic picked, it was time to start writing my speech. I'm usually pretty good at getting my thoughts down on paper, but turning them into a whole speech that flowed nicely and kept people interested? That was super tricky! I must have rewritten my introduction a hundred times before I felt it properly hooked the audience.I spent weeks polishing every word, cutting out the rambling parts, adding jokes and inspirational quotes, and practicing my delivery out loud. My parents and Mrs. Jones gave me lots of helpful feedback too. Little by little, my speech was taking shape. Then finally, it was showtime - the big day of the contest arrived! I was bubbling over with a mixture of excitement and nerves as my family and I entered the auditorium where the competition was being held. There were so many other students from schools across the city. I could see them doing last-minute practice runs of their speeches, or getting encouragement from their parents. The energy in that room was electric! One by one, speakers took the stage to deliver their speeches. I was amazed by how poised and confident they all were. And wow, the topics they chose were so powerful - things like protecting the environment, overcoming bullying, and achieving your dreams no matter what obstacles you face. Hearing those truths expressed so passionately by other kids my age was truly inspiring. At last, it was my turn in the spotlight. My heart felt like it was going to beat right out of my chest as I walked up to the microphone. But as soon as I opened my mouth and saw the encouraging smiles from my family, something just clicked into place. All the practice and hard work paid off as the words began to flow.I talked all about how being kind doesn't cost anything, but it can mean absolutely everything to the person on the receiving end. I shared personal stories of times when someone's kindness had lifted my spirits. And I urged everyone to start a "kindness ripple" by doing good deeds, showing compassion, and thinking of others - because those positive ripples would keep spreading outward in endless, beautiful waves. When I finally finished speaking, the whole audience erupted in thunderous applause and cheering. I could hardly believe it!Walking off that stage, I felt about ten feet tall. Even if I didn't end up winning a prize, I knew I had accomplished something amazing by finding my voice and bravely sharing my message with so many people.A short while later, the judges started announcing the winners. The second and third place speeches were fantastic, and I already felt hugely proud just to be participating. But then, they called out the first place winner...and it was me! I was stunned. Barely breathing, I walked back up on stage and accepted the trophy amid more cheers and applause. As I gave my thank-you speech through happy tears, I realized this whole experience had taught me something invaluable - the power of believing in yourself. If you have a message in your heart that you feel needs to be shared with the world, you owe it to yourself to find the courage and take that leap. Because when you do, incredible things can happen! That speech contest was one of the most challenging, rewarding, and joyful adventures I've ever been on. But perhaps the biggest prize of all was rediscovering my ownself-confidence and inner strength. I know now that I have just as much right as anyone to raise my voice and express what mattersto me. And I can't wait for the next time I'll get that opportunity again!。

万能作文模板2:演讲比赛What is the future? Every time I look at the stars in the sky, I ask myself a hard question to answer. The universe is boundless. We don't know where we are from.We will stand there. Last Sunday, at sea, there was a meteor shower. I went to bercony and waited for them to fly over my shoulder. It was the wind above the wind, it was the wind in the sky, it was the sky, it was big and blue, the stars were shining, all of a sudden There is a meteor. I pray for herhappiness and gaze at it. I want to pray more, but it has been extinguished.I realize that the future is not engraved on the meteor, but now. When a fortune teller looks at your hand, she will tell you what your future will be like. This is a way to place hope on, but it is unrealistic. The future is something around you Love and people what you should do is try your best to do everything, don't care too much about the results, be friendly to the people around you and love them. Although the world is not full of love, life is not a rose bed, you should stick to your belief. As time goes by, you will find that everything you do is worth it.Time is glorious, because you can't stop the passage of time, just like the flowers in spring, the sunshine in summer, the moon in mid autumn and the snow in winter. Maybe one morning you will never wake up, you will never see the sunrise or sunset, you will never see your heart, you will never talk to her, you will never hear the voice of nature, nor will you walk in the woods, you will never be able to walk in the woods Far from swimming in the lake or climbing mountains, time is precious. Every minute is precious. We should make full use of it. Don't waste a minute on work, in laughter, in playing games and in love. Each of us has a kite flying in the sky.We also have a rope. Every child's kite is childhood. This line is the kite of growing lovers Love, this string of string is a kite in my daily life. It's called dream. The rope in my hand is the reality. The wind that makes the kite fly is the future. The kite is not free. But we still have the power to control them and let them fly higher and higher. The rope is in my hand. The future is in my hand. Forget the fortune teller and clench your fist.

My School Had a Super Cool Speech Contest!Guess what? Our school just had the most amazingthree-day speech contest ever! It was so much fun and really exciting. I've been looking forward to telling you all about it.It all started a few weeks ago when our teachers told us they were organizing a big speaking competition. They said any student from 3rd grade up to 6th grade could enter by preparing a 5-minute speech on any topic they wanted. The winner would get an awesome prize! At first, I wasn't sure if I wanted to do it. Speaking in front of a whole bunch of people made me kind of nervous. But then I thought about how cool the prize could be. Plus, my best friend Samantha said she was going to enter, so I decided to give it a try too.Samantha and I spent a few weeks working really hard on our speeches. I chose to talk about my favorite book series, while Samantha did hers on why kids should learn how to cook. We practiced giving our speeches in front of our parents like a million times. I'm not gonna lie, it was pretty scary at first! Finally, the big day arrived last Thursday for the first round of the contest. They set up a stage in the gym with a podium, microphone, and everything. I had to go fourth out of the 20 kids in my group. Waiting for my turn, my heart was beating like crazy! But when I got up on stage and saw Samantha giving me a thumbs up from the audience, I took a deep breath and just pretended I was talking to her.I don't remember everything I said, but I know I nailed my speech! The judges and teachers were smiling the whole time, and everyone clapped super loud for me after. Walking off stage, I felt like a million bucks!Samantha did an awesome job too. The judges obviously thought so, because we both made it to the second round on Friday! Only 12 out of the 40 kids moved on, so we were super proud. For the semifinals, the rules were a little different. We had to pick a brand new topic out of a hat that morning and come up with a speech about it in just two hours! Can you believe that? The topic I got was "If you could have any superpower, what would it be and why?" I wrote down that I would want the ability to fly so I could soar over buildings and travel anywhere in theworld. I practiced my speech while pacing around the library, trying to get the timing just right. When it was showtime, I was nowhere near as nervous as the first day. Don't get me wrong, I was still really nervous! But I told myself that even if I messed up, I had already made it super far and had tons to be proud of.Turns out I did great again, and so did Samantha! We were two of the four finalists chosen to move on to the last day. Our families all cheered like crazy.I could barely sleep that night, I was so excited and anxious about the final round. This time, the rules were even trickier - we had to pick one of three surprise topics right before going on stage and speak completely off-the-cuff! No time to prepare at all. Crazy, right?I went second-to-last out of the four finalists. When they asked me to choose a topic, I gulped and picked the one about "What I want to be when I grow up." I had never really thought about that before! As I walked up on stage, I noticed my hands were shaking. But I looked out at the crowd, saw my parents and Samanthasmiling at me, and suddenly felt a wave of calm. I stood up nice and tall, took a breath, and started talking.I don't even know where the words came from, but I guess I had been thinking about it more than I realized! I said I wanted to be a teacher when I grow up, because I love learning new things every day. And I think it would be amazing to get to share that joy and curiosity of discovery with kids, just like my teachers share it with me.When I finished, there was this shocked silence for a split second before everyone erupted in cheers and applause. I couldn't believe I had just made up an entire speech off the top of my head! As I walked off stage in a daze, the judges were all smiling and clapping for me.Samantha was the last to go, and she did an equally incredible job speaking about her dream to become a chef and open her own restaurant someday. We hugged each other tightly after she finished, already feeling like winners no matter what. While the judges deliberated, there were fun performances by our school band, dance team, and even some teachers doing comedy skits! It was such a blast. Finally, it was time to announce the winners. The fourth place winner was a girl named Hannah. Then they announced the third place spot went to...Samantha! I was so happy for her, but also a little nervous. Did that mean I had gotten either first or second? When they said the second place winner was a boy named Tyler, I think I probably turned bright red. There was only one prize left - the first place trophy! As the principal started listing the reasons why I had won, I felt like I could just float away in a cloud of joy and pride. This was a moment I would never, ever forget. They called me up on stage and the principal placed a gigantic first place medal around my neck. As I held up the huge trophy, everyone went absolutely wild cheering and clapping. I couldn't stop smiling! Samantha was the first one to rush up and give me a big hug.Winning that speech contest was honestly one of the coolest, most unforgettable experiences of my whole life so far. I worked so hard, faced my fears, and it all paid off in such an incredible way. Now I can't wait for the next time there's an opportunity to get up and speak in front of people. If this shy kid could do it, I know anyone can!I'm just so grateful to my family, friends, and teachers for all their love and support. And mostly, I'm proud of myself for pushing past the nervousness and giving it my all. Like my dad always says, we regret the chances we don't take way more than the ones we do. So I say go for it, be brave, and amazing things can happen!。
关于参加比赛的英语作文
关于参加比赛的英语作文篇1Last week, I took part in an English speech contest which was held by our teachers. There were twelve students in the final contest. I was one of them. Fifteen minutes before my turn, I picked my topic and prepared for it. I wrote down the outlines and organized what I was going to say. However, when I stood in front of all judges and students, I was extremely nervous. My mind was totally empty. Then I took a deep breath to relax myself and started my speech. The result was not as good as I expected, but I preferred to regard it as a challenge to myself, whose process was the most important for me. I can learn a lot from this contest. I am sure I will be better next time.篇2When early man invented clothes,he probably wanted to keep warm.I am sure he never intended that it should become as elaborate as it has become today. For many ayear, traditional clothes and modern clothes have been in competition as to which of them make the wearer more beautiful. But it does seem that a lot of modern clothes are simpler and more practical.Perhaps we are moving back to the age of cavemen who wore clothes for practical purposes.Modern clothes are definitely more practical as against traditional clothes.Almost all people now wear modern clothes.Nowadays even more and more people wear casual clothes.Jeans are everywhere except at formal parties.T-shirts are common, too. They look comfortable and fashionable. However, there are also a lot of people who take the trouble to dress well in formal clothes like shirts, trousers and suits.I find them smart, too. But then,it is important to hold on to our topic. In my opinion, each type of dress has its place.Modern clothes are ideal for most situations, while casual clothes are worn more freely. As to traditional clothes, they must be worn for special occasions。
