People now are less happy and less satisfied than people in the past.

No matter where we are and what we are doing, it is not difficult for us to feel the rapid development of modern economy and technology. The high speed of technology development does bring us convenience in many aspects. However, some people insist that people now are less happy and lee satisfied than people in the past, because the world is changing so fast. I strongly disagree with the statement.

In my opinion, our life is easier and more efficient than the past owing to the development of science and technology. Take me for example, I am sitting in my cozy dormitory and writing an essay now, and I am typing what I want to say through the computer keyboard to a Microsoft Word file instead of putting them down on a piece of traditional paper. So I can keep my easy in electronic way, and then bring it with me everywhere and print it out whenever I want. It is obvious that what I am doing now is very convenient and can not be done in the past without the application of computer science. So our life has been changed into a quick and efficient way with the help of science and technology.

Besides, our daily life has become more comfortable and convenient thanks to the quick development in society and science. For instance, we can get the place we want to with the assistance of the modern transportation system, which including bus, subway, train, ship, or airplane. And we can keep in tough with our relatives and friends with the support of the convenient communication system, such as mobile phones or chatting software, which is time-saving than traditional ways and we can even see each other no matter how far the distance is. Sometimes we can also do shopping at home with the help of the Internet, and we just order what we want and our purchase will come to us in a few days. What we can see from the examples I have listed is that our life really becomes different because of the social and scientific improvement.

Although the quickly changing world may bring with the high pressure, its advantages overweigh its drawbacks. So I do not think people now are less happy and satisfied than the past. Maybe you can ask someone if he or she would like to come back to the old days, just see what his or her answer will be.
