但在实际阅卷过程中，如果词数过少，扣掉的不止是2分。
因为篇幅过短，不能吸引阅卷老师细看以便查找诸如“高级词汇”“较高级结构”等“加分点”，自然影响得分档次。
在试题“注意”中有明确规定：“1.词数100左右；2.可以适当增加细节，以使行文连贯”。
这里既规定了词数，又指定了充实文章的方法，即“适当增加细节”。
“适当增加细节”其中很重要的一个方法就是——追加成分。

我们提倡：恰到好处。
做到这一点，就要考虑在你写出好多复杂的长句时，能否将它们精炼？合句顾名思义：将两个或多个简单句合并成一个句子。
这实际上涉及到句型的转换了。
句型转换能写出一本大书，基本上就是：从简单句或并列句向复合句的转换；从复合句向非谓语动词或介词短语的转换。

句子的扩展(Sentence Development)写作初学者往往善于写较简单的句子，这类句子简短有力，但内涵往往较少。
英语段落和篇章写作中经常是就一个话题展开叙述，学习者应将长短句穿插，灵活使用。
较长的句子能够起到充实内容、展开说理、使文章逻辑严密的作用。
所以了解并应用句子扩展的知识非常重要。
扩展句子常用的方法有添加法、并列法和从属法。
一、添加法添加法即是对简单句通过添加修饰词或短语进行扩展，这些添加成分在句中主要作定语或状语等成分，使句子内容更加充实具体。
1.添加词汇(形容词，副词)例：She gave me a gift.她送我了一个礼物。
She gave me a beautiful gift.她送我了一个漂亮的礼物。
I agreed with him.我同意他的看法。
Reluctantly, I agreed with him.我勉强同意他的看法。
2.添加短语(不定式短语，分词短语，介词短语)例：It took us three months.花了我们三个月时间。
It took us three months to finish the project.花了我们三个月时间完成这个项目。
Li Ming turned on the TV.李明打开电视。
Having finished his homework, Li Ming turned on the TV.写完作业后，李明打开电视。
I read many English books.我读了很多英语书。

二、并列法用并列法扩展句子常用两种方法，一是运用平行结构来添加并列成分；二是把两个或两个以上的简单句使用并列连词或连接副词连在一起，构成并列句。

所谓张力，就是能自然地容纳东西。
我们把句子分为三个部分：句首；句中；句尾。
这三个部分原理上都可以无限拓展。
一、句子开头有五种方法It句型，what句型，there be句型，感情色彩词，让步开头句在你写出一个单薄的句子后，可能最快的方法就是在句首进行添加成分，下面我一一说明：（1）It句型：It is +过去分词+that....(过去分词：admitted, acknowledged, accepted，agreed, said）It is +形容词+that...(形容词：certain, evident, obvious, important, well-known)It+谓语动词+that...(谓语部分：happens, occurs to me, turns out)It is +名词+that...(名词：time, a pity, a great honor)还有一些：it goes without saying that...之类，我不建议用了。
以上四个其实也要谨慎使用，因为偶尔会被看作是模板句。
譬如：Environment protection has gained popularity.环保渐受欢迎。
这个句子如果可以在前面加：It is admitted that environment protection has gained popularity.It is obvious that environment protection has gained popularity.（2）There be句型：There is no doubt that...There is possibility that...譬如：There is no doubt that the world climate has been changing in recent years.毫无疑问，世界气候近年来一直都在变化着。
[牛津M5U2]以上两类，我逐渐都不怎么鼓励使用了，因为大部分情况下都可以用一个副词来替代，这就是我下面要说的。
（3）感情色彩的副词24个读者可不要小瞧这类词的存在，它们往往可以给一个没有生气的句子赋予情感，我喜欢有情句。
此类常用词有：Undoubtedly (=there is no doubt that...)Admittedly (=It is admitted that...)obviously (=it is obvious that...)Amazingly enough...令人惊异的是……Ironically,...具有讽刺意味的是……（这个是四级词汇，用在对比比较大的图片类比较合适）interestingly, fortunately, frankly, luckily, most importantly, strangely enough, naturally, unexpectedly, surprisingly以上是修饰整个句子的，还有几个是专门修饰动词的，有：exactly, extremely, seriously, hardly, deeply, absolutely, completely, mainly, greatly（4）what句型实际上和it句型可以相互转换的，总体上都属于名词性从句，多为：What ...is that...结构。
譬如：What is certain, though, is that 'the curse of the mummy' remains a riddle to this day.但是，有一点可以肯定，‘木乃伊的诅咒’至今还是个谜。
[牛津M2U3]可以转为：It is certain that...（5）让步倒装句因为前面的句子多为状语或状语从句，而状从太多了，实际上，各种状语从句都可以在句首拓展句子，我这里主要说一种。
我经常鼓励孩子们写建议句或客观描述状态时，脑子里预置一个“尽管……”，譬如：我们刻苦学习。
应该想到：尽管天气非常恶劣，我们还一如既往刻苦学习。
说起来，这也是给句子赋予感情。
但我的目的不仅仅如此，请看：Disappointed as I felt at the shabby campus and the poorly-equipped classroom, I found the teachers patient and considerate.（2012•湖北卷）尽管面对简陋的校园和设备不完善的教室，我感到很失望，但老师却很耐心体贴。
这个句子本来就是：老师却很耐心体贴。
但是前面加了那些，更能看出老师的精神的可贵。
然后又可以来个倒装修辞结构，岂不美哉！总结一下：Adj./ Adv. as S V, 主句二、句中拓展有两种方法定义法（同位语、定从），插入语（感情色彩词等）首先我要说明的是，这个部分需要读者有一定的语法功底。
句中拓展往往针对一个名词而言。
（1）定义法很多时候，你需要对某个名词进行解释，因为老外（英语作文本质上是给老外看的）可能并不知道“它”。
举个例子：丰县吸引了很多人。
这就有问题了，因为“丰县”到底是什么东东？（或许老外还以为是美女。
）因此就需这样写：Fengxian, a county which is well-known for her scenery, attracts thousands of visitor every year.读者请注意：我这里用的是同位语和定语从句的完美组合来扩展。
同位语还有其它形式，用来避免动词的重复或滥用。
Once, the nearest school was far away, too far for many to attend. ...There are three teachers, all natives here, teaching 48 students.但有时候不一定用同位语，直接用定语从句，例如：For another, these jobs, which are worth our enthusiasm and respect, also provide a chance to realize our value or fulfill our dreams.另一方面，这些值得我们付出热情和尊重的工作，也为我们实现自己的价值和理想提供了机会。
总结一下这个规律：N, 同位语（定语从句或介词短语或非谓语动词），谓语（2）插入语：感情色彩词这个和前面说的感情色彩的副词24个句首拓展是一个道理。
这些副词有时放在句中似乎更好看一些。
不再赘述。
三、句尾拓展有三种方法（1）状语（从句）拓展（2）反向拓展：否则（3）意犹未尽法：the+比较级；谚语名言句尾拓展是最常见的方法，这是英语句子的一大特点。
我这里先普及一个英汉不同的常识。
一般来讲，西方人语言表达的顺序和中国人语言表达的顺序有较大的差异。
我们汉语说：如果你明天来的话，我就去机场接你。
而不说：我去机场接你，如果你明天来的话。
但是，西方人却往往这样表达：I will meet you at the airport, if you come tomorrow. 换句话说，西方人往往习惯把语义重点（在此例中亦即主句）放在前面说，然后用好多从句或修饰成分来补充信息。
这在英语上叫圆周句或掉尾句，属于修辞手法之一。
句尾拓展有很多，所有状语从句都可以放在后面拓展，我这里重点讲三种。
（1）表示因果、条件的拓展先考虑用现在分词结构，然后再考虑用because, since, as long as, if之类。
一个主要原因是，非谓语动词是高中重点学到的，后学的用上比较拉风。
（实际上，这仅仅是针对国内而言，状从拓展和非谓语动词拓展本质上是没有区别的。
）譬如；1. What’s more, there are a variety of special snacks, which I think will impress you deeply.另外，还有很多特别的零食，我相信一定会给你留下深刻的印象的。
2. Successfully, I have lent a helping hand to her in several English activities of my class, which have been appreciated by both teachers and my classmates.我在英语课堂帮助了她很多活动，老师和同学们的肯定让我感到了成功。
3. Instead of sand blowing everywhere, there is mud and water everywhere, making it difficult to travel from place to place.这儿没有黄沙漫天，而是到处都布满了泥土和水，这使得从一个地方到另一个地方成了难事。
[牛津M6U4]4. Never get discouraged easily however difficult the situation may be.不管遇到怎样的困境都不要垂头丧气。
读者请思考一下，这些句子拓展到底有什么规律?首先，你每写一个句子，请思考：这件事（主句就是表达一件事），有什么结果？好还是坏？这件事是什么原因导致的？这件事在什么条件下会发生？第一种设想会有这个句型：SVO, doing…/which does…(例如making…; allowing…; enabling…; worsening…)第二、三种：SVO, if…/ as long as…/ on the condition that…/ in case / so that…举个例子，你写: 我的同学很懒。
那么，你就要想：导致了什么结果? 句子就有了：My friend Tom is very lazy, ending up as a loser eventually.你还可以继续想，为什么他懒？句子就长了：My friend Tom is very lazy for lack of confidence, ending up as a loser eventually.但我要强调的是，这种拓展思维是要经常练习的，看起来简单，实际上是批判性性思维的一种最常见的培养方式。
