作弊导致的不良后果英语作文

Cheating in Exams: Its DetrimentalConsequencesIn the realm of academic pursuits, cheating in exams has always been a controversial and unethical practice. Despite the widespread condemnation of this behavior, it continues to persist, often luring students into a seemingly easy path towards academic success. However, the consequences of cheating in exams are far more dire than any short-term gains it might offer. This essay delves into the adverse effects of cheating in exams, highlighting its impact on personal integrity, academic reputation, and future prospects.Firstly, cheating undermines personal integrity. Integrity is the cornerstone of character, encompassing honesty, sincerity, and moral uprightness. When a student chooses to cheat in an exam, they are compromising their integrity, betraying their true selves, and sacrificing their moral principles for the sake of temporary success. This compromises not only their self-worth but also their ability to maintain a healthy and ethical relationship with others. Cheating erodes trust, as it casts doubts on thesincerity and authenticity of a person's actions and achievements.Secondly, cheating in exams has a detrimental impact on academic reputation. In the academic world, reputation is built on hard work, dedication, and honest efforts. Cheating shatters this reputation, tainting it with the stain of dishonesty. It not only undermines the credibility of the individual's academic achievements but also reflects poorly on the institution they represent. Cheating can lead to disciplinary action, including warnings, suspensions, or even expulsion from academic institutions, further damaging the student's academic standing. Moreover, the consequences of cheating extend beyond the academic realm, affecting future prospects and career opportunities. Employers and organizations value honesty, integrity, and ethical conduct highly in their potential hires. A record of cheating in exams can severely compromise a student's chances of obtaining employment or advancing in their chosen career. Employers often conduct background checks, and a history of academic dishonesty canbe a significant red flag, preventing individuals from securing their desired positions or promotions.Additionally, cheating in exams hinders the development of critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Exams are designed to assess a student's understanding of a subject matter and their ability to apply that knowledge in real-world scenarios. By cheating, students miss out on the opportunity to engage with the material deeply, challenging their minds, and enhancing their cognitive abilities. This limits their intellectual growth and prepares them poorly for the complexities and challenges they will encounter in their future academic and professional lives. In conclusion, the adverse consequences of cheating in exams are numerous and profound. It undermines personal integrity, damages academic reputation, jeopardizes future prospects, and hinders intellectual growth. Therefore, itis imperative for students to understand the gravity of their actions and refrain from resorting to cheating as a means to achieve academic success. Instead, they should focus on developing their knowledge, skills, and ethical values through honest efforts and dedication, laying asolid foundation for a successful and fulfilling academic and professional life.**考试作弊:其不良后果**在学术追求的领域里,考试作弊一直是一个备受争议和不道德的行为。

Parents also play a crucial role in shaping their children’s attitudes towards academic success. By fostering open communication and offering support without imposing unrealistic expectations, parents can alleviate the pressure that leads students to cheat. In addition, parents should lead by example and prioritize the development of their children’s character and values over their academic achievements.
In order to address the issue of cheating in exams, it is essential to implement a multi-faceted approach that involves educators, parents, and policymakers. Schools should prioritize the cultivation of a positive learning environment that emphasizes the importance of honesty and integrity. This could involve promoting a growth mindset, where mistakes are viewed as opportunities for learning and improvement, rather than sources of shame. 近日,教育部提出的防替考措施包括:采用二代身份证现场报名确认(identity verification on the site)、现场采集照片和指纹或指静脉等生物特征(photo taking, fingerprint reading and vein scanning)、及时进行信息比对(timely data match)等。

To address the issue of cheating in exams, it is crucial for educators and parents to promote a culture of academic integrity. This can be achieved through open discussions about the importance of honesty, the value of learning for personal growth, and the negative consequences of cheating. Additionally, providing adequate support and resources for students who are struggling academically can help reduce the temptation to cheat.
Secondly, the lack of understanding or preparation for the subject matter can also push students towards cheating. Instead of seeking help or studying harder, some students see cheating as a quick fix to pass the exam. This is especially common insubjects that they are struggling with or have little interest in.
First and foremost, the pressure to perform well academically is one of the primary reasons why students resort to cheating in exams. Many students believe that their worth is solely determined by their grades, and this intense pressure leads them to take extreme measures. Additionally, the fear of failure and disappointing their parents or teachers drives some students to cheat as they see no other way to meet the high expectations placed upon them.

Now many students always cheat in an exam, which has become a strange phenomenon prevailing in many colleges.现在很多学生总是在考试中作弊,这已成为各大高校流行的一种奇怪的现象。

Why do most college students always cheat in exams? For one thing, those students are very lazy. They don’t study hard, but they still want to get high marks, thus their vanities force them to do so. For another, they don’t regard honesty as a virtue, and they don’t think cheating is a shame, either. Besides, there are too many exams, and those exams are a little difficult for them.

In my view, cheating in exams is misconduct. Firstly, it’s self-deceptive. Cheating others is to cheat themselves, which will be of great harm in the long run. Secondly, if those who cheat in the exams can get a scholarship, it will be unfair for the students who work very hard. Therefore, as college students, we must be honest and study hard. I believe all of our efforts will be paid off.我认为考试作弊是种不正当的行为。

1.2021下半年英语四级写作⾼分范⽂ 题⽬:考试作弊 Cheating in exams is rampant in universities and is considered a major problem. What's your opinion on cheating in exams? 写作范⽂ Cheating in Exams Leads to a Loss of Integrity In my opinion, cheating in an exam is a matter of one's integrity. It is easy to be dishonest and deceive other people but it is much harder to deceive one's self. A person who cheats knows they are doing the wrong thing and, as such, it is a reflection on their character. One reason why I, personally, do not advocate cheating is that I would lose my sense of self-respect. To me, my integrity is too valuable to risks the damage that would be caused if I were to cheat. Apart from the fact that I would know I had done the wrong thing, it would generate a concern about being found out. Another consequence of cheating is that it proves one has not acquired the knowledge necessary to warrant the qualification sought. If the cheating results in being awarded a certificate, to me, that certificate would represent a constant reminder of the stain on my integrity. In the final analysis, cheating comes down toll one's character and the degree of self-respect you have. I prefer to earn what I want based on my own ability and efforts rather than become a second-rate person by cheating. You should write at least 150 words following the outline given below.1.在各类考试中,总发现有学生作弊的现象2.作弊所带来的不良影响3.怎样制止作弊Cheating on Exams正确答案:Cheating on Exams Cheating on exams is nothing new. As long as there have been examination rules, there have been people intent on breaking them. What’s alarming now is how widespread and rampant the practice has become. There is always somebody doing it in various examinations. Some students even say that if you don’t you feel like a chump. Exam cheats have bad effects. In China, examinations are an important method of measuring talent and evaluating qualifications. So that should be a fair play. If a student gets good grades through cheating, say, peeking at a neighbor’s test paper or receiving test answers via text messages, that’s unfair to the students who take the exam through their own efforts. And at the same time, the examination loses its original meaning. To curb exam cheating, first, schools should reinforce moral education and tell students that “You should not cheat on exams. That’s immoral”. Second, schools should ban all cell phones, cameras and other gadgets during exam hours. Finally, schools should take various measures to punish the students caught cheating.Part II Reading Comprehension (Skimming and Scanning) (15 minutes)Directions: In this part, you will have 15 minutes to go over the passage quickly and answer the questions attached to the passage. If you want to spark a heated debate at a dinner party, bring up the topic about genetically modified foods. For many people, the concept of genetically altered, high-tech crop production raises all kinds of environmental, health, safety and ethical questions. Particularly in countries with long agrarian (农业的) traditions —and vocal green lobbies —the idea seems against nature. In fact, genetically modified foods are already very much a part of our lives. A third of the corn and more than half the soybeans and cotton grown in the U.S. last year were the product of biotechnology, according to theDepartment of Agriculture. More than 65 million acres of genetically modified crops will be planted in the U.S. this year. The genetic genie is out of the bottle. Yet there are clearly some very real issues that need to be resolved. Like any new product entering the food chain, genetically modified foods must be subjected to rigorous testing. In wealthy countries, the debate about biotech is tempered by the fact that we have a rich array of foods to choose from —and a supply that far exceeds our needs. In developing countries desperate to feed fast-growing and underfed populations, the issue is simpler and much more urgent: Do the benefits of biotech outweigh the risks? The statistics on population growth and hunger are disturbing. Last year the world’s population reached 6 billion. And by 2050, the UN estimates, it will be probably near 9 billion. Almost all that growth will occur in developing countries. At the same time, the world’s available cultivable land per person is declining. Arable land has declined steadily since 1960 and will decrease by half over the next 50 years, according to the International Service for the Acquisition of Agri-Biotech Applications (ISAAA). How can biotech help? Biotechnologists have developed genetically modified rice that is fortified with beta-carotene (胡萝卜素) —which the body converts into vitamin A —and additional iron, and they are working on other kinds of nutritionally improved crops. Biotech can also improve farming productivity in places where food shortages are caused by crop damage attributable to pests, drought, poor soil and crop viruses, bacteria or fungi. Damage caused by pests is incredible. The European corn borer (螟虫) for example, destroys 40 million tons of the world’s corn crops annually, about 7% of the total. Incorporating pest-resistant genes into seeds can help restore the balance. In trials of pest-resistant cotton in Africa, yields have increased significantly. So far, fears that genetically modified, pest-resistant crops might kill good insects as well as bad appear unfounded. Viruses often cause massive failure in staple crops in developing countries. Two years ago, Africa lost more than half its cassava (木薯) crop —a key source of calories —to the mosaic virus. Genetically modified, virus-resistant crops can reduce that damage, as can drought-tolerant seeds in regions where water shortages limit the amount of land under cultivation. Biotech can also help solve the problem of soil that contains excess aluminum, which can damage roots and cause many staple-crop failures. A gene that helps neutralize aluminum toxicity (毒性) in rice has been identified. Many scientists believe biotech could raise overall crop productivity in developing countries as much as 25% and help prevent the loss of those crops before they are harvested. Yet for all that promise, biotech is far from being the whole answer. In developing countries, lost crops are only one cause of hunger. Poverty plays the largest role. Today more than 1 billion people around the globe live on less than 1 dollar a day. Making genetically modified crops available will not reduce hunger if farmers cannot afford to grow them or if the local population cannot afford to buy the food those farmers produce. Biotech has its own “distribution” problems. Private-sector biotech companies in the rich countries carry out much of the leading-edge research on genetically modified crops. Their products are often too costly for poor farmers in the developing world, and many of those products won’t even reach the regions where they are most needed. Biotech firms have a strong financial incentive to target rich markets first in order tohelp them rapidly recoup the high costs of product development. But some of these companies are responding to needs of poor countries. More and more biotech research is being carried out in developing countries. But to increase the impact of genetic research on the food production of those countries, there is a need for better collaboration between government agencies —both local and in developed countries —and private biotech firms. The ISAAA, for example, is successfully partnering with the U.S. Agency for International Development, local researches and private biotech companies to find and deliver biotech solutions for farmers in developing countries. Will “Franken-foods” feed the world? Biotech is not a panacea (治百病的药), but it does promise to transform agriculture in many developing countries. If that promise is not fulfilled, the real losers will be their people, who could suffer for years to come. The world seems increasingly to have been divided into those who favor genetically modified (GM) foods and those who fear them. Advocates assert that growing genetically altered crops can be kinder to the environment and that eating foods from those plants is perfectly safe. And, they say, genetic engineering —which can induce plants to grow in poor soils or to produce more nutritious foods —will soon become an essential tool for helping to feed the world’s burgeoning (迅速发展的) population. Skeptics contend that genetically modified crops could pose unique risks to the environment and to health —risks too troubling to accept placidly. Taking that view, many European countries are restricting the planting and importation of genetically modified agricultural products. Much of the debate hinges on perceptions of safety. But what exactly does recent scientific research say about the hazards? Two years ago in Edinburgh, Scotland, eco-vandals stormed a field, crushing canola plants. Last year in Maine, midnight raiders hacked down more than 3,000 experimental poplar trees. And in San Diego, protesters smashed sorghum and sprayed paint over greenhouse walls. This far-flung outrage took aim at genetically modified crops. But the protests backfired: all the destroyed plants were conventionally bred. In each case, activists mistook ordinary plants for genetically modified varieties. It’s easy to understand why. In a way, genetically modified crops —now on some 109 million acres of farmland worldwide —are invisible. You can’t see, taste or touch a gene inserted into a plant or sense its effects on the environment. You can’t tell, just by looking, whether pollen containing a foreign gene can poison butterflies or fertilize plants miles away. That invisibility is precisely what worries people. How, exactly, will genetically modified crops affect the environment —and when will we notice? Advocates of genetically modified or transgenic crops say the plants will benefit the environment by requiring fewer toxic pesticides than conventional crops. But critics fear the potential risks and wonder how big the benefits really are. “We have so many questions about these plants,”remarks Guenther Stotzky, a soil microbiologist at New York University. “There’s a lot we don’t know and need to find out.”As genetically modified crops multiply in the landscape, unprecedented numbers of researchers have started fanning into the fields to get the missing information. Some of their recent findings are reassuring; others suggest a need for vigilance.2.How much corn planted in the U.S. last year was genetically modified?A.More than half.B.65 million acres.C.One third.D.Three quarters.正确答案:C解析:该句提到,美国去年所种植的玉米的三分之一(a third)、大豆和棉花的一半以上都是生物技术的产品,由此可知答案为[C]。

At present, a number of middle school students have picked up a bad habit — cheating in examinations._____________________________________________________________作文范文There are four main reasons. First, schools have given students too many exams, some of which are too difficult. Second, some students are not hard-working and they don’t work hard at their lessons. Third, they waste a lot of time playing game or surfing the Internet. So they haven’t enough time to prepare for the exams. Finally, students have to do so to make their teachers and parents happy. In my opinion, cheating in exams does great harm to our study. We students should be honest and diligent, and only in this way can we improve our study and make progress. Besides, our teachers should offer us fewer examsand more time to study for ourselves.参考译文目前,有许多中学生已经养成了一个坏习惯——考试作弊。
