四岁丧父,母亲正教他的兄长徐铉学习,没有时间照顾徐锴。

等到他稍微长大,文章与徐铉齐名。
昇元年间,议论的人以文人浅薄的原因,多凭经书和法律获取功名,但是徐锴耻于这样做,闭门不求做官。
徐铉与常梦锡一同当值门下省,拿出徐锴的文章给他看,常梦锡欣赏不停,于是向烈祖推荐,还没得到被任用,烈祖就驾崩了。
元宗继承皇位,刚出仕时担任秘书郎,齐王景遂上奏授予他记室之职。
当时殷崇义担任学士,草拟军书,用典有错误,徐锴私下议论这件事。
殷崇义正被君主宠信,就上奏诬蔑徐锴泄露禁内机密,于是被贬乌江太尉。
一年后被召回,被授予右拾遗、集贤殿直学士。
议论冯延鲁为人名望浅薄,不应当做巡抚使。
又违逆权要,凭秘书郎的身份掌管东都。
但是元宗很怜爱他的才能,又召他做虞部员外郎。
后主即位,徐锴又担任屯田郎中、知制诰(起草诏令)。
后被授予右内史舍人,被赐予高官显爵,夜间值班光政殿,兼兵、吏部选事,与兄长徐铉一同在皇帝身边侍奉,号称“二徐”。
2.初,锴久次当迁中书舍人,游简言当国,每抑之。
锴乃诣简言,简言从容曰:“以君才地,何止一中书舍人?然伯仲并居清要,亦物忌太盛,不若少迟之。
”锴颇怏怏。
简言徐出伎佐酒,所歌词皆锴所为,锴大喜,乃起谢曰:“丞相所言,乃锴意也。
”归以告铉,铉叹息曰:“汝痴绝,乃为数阕歌换中书舍人乎?”当初徐锴任职已久应当担任中书舍人,游简言掌管国事,每每压抑徐锴。
徐锴于是拜访游简言,游简言镇定地说:“凭借你的才能见地,何止一个中书舍人呢?但是你兄弟俩一同位居要职,同时众人妒忌太多,不如稍微暂缓(此事)。
”徐锴很不高兴。
游简言慢慢让艺伎助酒,艺伎所唱的歌词都是徐锴写的,徐锴很高兴,就起来拜谢说:“丞相所说的,正是我的意思啊。
”回来后告诉徐铉,徐铉叹息说:“你太痴了,竟然因为几支歌曲换了一个中书舍人?”3.锴凡四知贡举,号得人。

锴酷嗜读书,隆寒烈暑,未尝少辍。

后主聚集所写的文章,让他作序,士人以之为荣。
徐锴酷爱读书,隆冬严寒和烈日酷暑,都不曾停止。
后主曾得到周载的《齐职仪》,江东当初没有这部书,也没有人懂,(后主)因而拜访徐锴,徐锴一一逐条应对,没有一点遗忘。
久在集贤殿以后,黄笔红笔不离手,不到傍晚不出门。

上片开门见山,吟咏梅花且叹悔此次赏梅又迟来了一步。
梅花,以其寒冬腊月发花,且有坚贞耐寒之志而深受爱重,在我国历来有“国花”之称誉;其花五瓣,花色有白、亦有红;古人赏梅讲究“四贵”,除贵曲不贵直,贵疏不贵密之外,也贵梅花之瘦不贵其肥,贵梅花之合(含苞)而不贵其开(盛放)。
“玉瘦香浓,檀深雪散,今年恨探梅又晚”是说:玉色的白梅花清瘦飘逸,浅红色的梅中上品檀香梅相形之下显得色泽浓艳,它们散发着袭人的香气;白雪正在消融,那雪压梅枝的美景已不见;真真令人遗憾,没想到赏梅竟然又来晚了。
一个“又”字,表达了词中主人年年探梅、年年叹晚的心情;当然只有面对爱之甚深的对象,才会发出“恨晚”的叹息。
此处也足见作者遣词匠心之一斑。
“江楼楚馆,云闲水远。
清昼永,凭栏翠帘低卷”之句,交待了赏梅的环境地点、写出了远眺近俯的自然景色,也刻划出了一种闲适恬淡的心境。
句中“楚馆”的“楚”字,本指春秋战国时的楚地,即今之湖南、湖北一带,此处泛指江南。
在长江之滨的楚地南天,错落矗立着无数亭台楼馆,这里梅花竞放,又是赏梅的好去处;仰望白云闲散依蓝天而飘浮,俯视碧波涟漪逐江水而流逝;清凉的白昼是这样漫长,沉醉在阵阵梅香中的探梅人,凭倚着雕栏放眼远望,信手卷弄着低垂着的翠绿色的帷帘。
上片至此而止,主要是侧重写景的幽深、人的安闲,为下片不平静心情的抒发埋下伏笔,达到以静衬动的效果;当然,如果说此处静中伏有波澜的活,便是“清昼永”中的“永”字撩起的。
“永”是长的意思,人物感觉上的时间是长还是短,随人的心情而变:欢乐嫌短,愁苦恨长,这是人之常情。
