这类动作有:表示“抓住”类的动词:seize, grasp, grip , take hold of表示“覆盖”:cover表示“撕成碎片”:tear into pieces我们来看下面几个例句:(1)Fear gripped her heart.

(grip抓住)(2)Jealousy seized her.

(seize抓住)(3)A wild joy took hold of her.

(4)A feeling of panic seized her.

(5)Anxiety tore her into pieces.

(tore是tear的过去式,表“撕扯”)(6)Anger and bitterness covered upon me for weeks.

于是,动词通常是get the better of或者get the best of(都表示“胜过”)。

He stood up, hugged his parents, and smiled, trying not to let his emotions get the better of him.
