英语文学名著读后感(精选5篇)英语文学名著读后感(篇1)On Sister Carrie Carrie was such an ordinary rural girl at the beginning of the story. Sitting on the seat of a bus she couldn’t help feeling exciting at the sight of the metropolis’ spectacle. She was impressed deeply by large crowd on the avenue the spacious square or tall buildings. Far more different from other heroines Carrie was not a plain pure angel like Snow-white nor was she brave enough to be a heroine of revolutionist or even a reformer nor was she so clever as to be a successful career woman who start from scratch. What attracted her most after her entering this huge metropolis was the incredible fineries fashion shoes smart handbags displaying in the shop windows the jewellerys shining brightly behind the glass. She dreamed that one day she could wear all of these jogging gracefully into the most luxurious hotel with focused sights of admiration. And this was not merely a dream. Because she had large eyes which can earn others’ sympathy even love. She had wonderful figure which can win others’ hearts. However anything she got anywhere she reached had not come from her ambition.Things happened and then she accepted. That’s what she had just done ? just to accept willingly from the bottom of her heart. She was not at all an evil woman who would give anything for the fortune or fame. However she would give uo something for a better life when her instinct defeated her intellect. That was Carrie a girl had her own desire a human being just like many others in the realistic world. There’s one sentence written in chapter VIII:” When this jangle of free-will instinct shall have been adjusted when perfect understanding has given the former the power to replace the latter entirely man will no longer vary.” However how many people can go that further.英语文学名著读后感(篇2)the novel opens with the famous line, "it is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife.". and ends with two marriages: jane and bingleys, as well as darcy and elizabeths. both couples are assumed to live happily ever after.elizabeth (lizzy) bennet is the core of the family. elizabeth is the second of mr. and mrs. bennets five daughters, and is an intelligent, bold, attractive twenty-year-old when the story begins. in addition to being her fathers favourite, elizabeth is characterized as a sensible, yet stubborn, woman. misled by his cold outward behaviour, elizabeth originally holds mr. darcy in contempt. however, she finds that mr. darcy improves on acquaintance, more so than she would expect.fitzwilliam darcy (commonly known as mr. darcy) is the central male character and elizabeths second love interest in the novel. he is an intelligent, wealthy, extremely handsome and reserved 28-year-old man, who often appears haughty or proud to strangers but possesses an honest and kind nature underneath. initially, he considers elizabeth his socialinferior, unworthy of his attention, but he finds that, despite his inclinations, he cannot deny his feelings for elizabeth. his initial proposal of marriage is rejected because of his pride and elizabeths prejudice against him; however, at the end of the novel, after their relationship has blossomed, he is happily engaged to a loving elizabeth.role of women in the 18th centuryin late-18th-century england, women were relegated to secondary roles in society with respect to property and social responsibilities. for example, women were not permitted to visit new arrivals to the neighbourhood (such as mr. bingley in pride and prejudice) until the male head of their household had first done so. women were under enormous pressure to marry for the purpose of securing their financial futures and making valuable social connections for their families. therefore, marriage, though romanticised, was in many ways a financial transaction and social alliance rather than a matter of love. although jane austen did not condone loveless marriages (she stayed single all her life), she did approve of matches having equality in various respects, including wealth, social status, love and character. in pride and prejudice, wealth, social status, chastity (and the perception of chastity) and physical attractiveness are depicted as factors affecting a womans chances for a good m英语文学名著读后感(篇3)i believe that one of the factors that makes a piece of literature or even a movie a masterpiece is how well the reader can relate to the story. this is definitely a book everyone can relate to.the adventures of tom sawyer is a literary masterpieces, written in 1876 by the famous author mark twain. tom sawyer is a mischievous young boy who lives in the small town on the mississippi river called st. petersburg. the story line is simple, the book reads like a biography or a memoir of a summer in tom sawyers life.tom sawyer seems to be the precursor of and the template for misfit kids such as dennis the menace, malcolm in the middle, and calvin and hobbs. what makes this story great is that tom sawyer represents everything that is great about childhood. the book is filled with toms adventures playing pirates and war with his friend joe harper. tom has a trusted friend, huck finn, who few of the adults approve of. the book is filled with ideas of how the world works, such as how pirates and robbers work, that are so innocent, they could only come from a child. it is a story filled with action, adventure, ingenious ideas, love, and schoolyard politics. the whole story is seemingly a complication of what people did or wish they did during their childhood.the book is a little difficult to read at first. personally, it takes me a little while to get used to the 19th century dialect in the book. other than referring to persons of african decent in derogatory terms (which im sure uses terms even young children already know), the book would be an enjoyable read for people of all ages. i highly recommend this book for anyone looking to feel young again, if just for a few hundred pages.英语文学名著读后感(篇4)i read the book written by luxun .it is called zhaohuaxishi. it includes 10short articles about the writers stories .they are based on his own experience ,when i read this book ,i feel very happy to see luxuns childhood. it wasdiffrent from ours,so we may find it intersting and exciting. luxuns langange isvery great but maybe difficult to understand . but through his words ,we canfind his happiness in his heart .英语文学名著读后感(篇5)ive just fininshed reading the first 4 harry potter books for about the 5th time through, and theyre just as magical and affecting as they have ever been. everything is in here: suspense, adventure, mystery, humour, danger. theres even some pretty satisfying paybacks. the characters are fantastic and fantastically realistic. there are bad people who turn out to be good guys and good people who turn out to be bad guys, just like life.i think the thing i like best about these books is the message that its okay to be different - to be not "normal." i would love for everyone in school to have hear that message. it would probably reduce the bullying around the school.these books value real thoughts. much has been made of harrys rule breaking, but only once in the series so far does he break a rule for arbitrary personal gain. most of the time he makes a decision that whats right is more important than whats written. and you know what? lifes likethat sometimes. i think its great that kids are getting an example of how to do whats right even when it involves breaking rules. the potter books also show that there are consequences for rule breaking. if not getting caught and getting a detention, then a spell going wrong and someone getting turned into a cat. this shows that when you make a decision to go against the rules that things may not go as you expected and you have to take responsibility for the outcome.。

I dont haveany spare time. I must read a book.Looking through the crowded bookshelves, I finally found a good book, "Harry Potter and the magic stone". The author of the book is the British woman writer J.K Rowling. This book is the one year old Harry lost parents, foster uncle aunt. Harry in the home of Uncle suffered bullying, as well as their "Dudley -- a fiend in human shape a fat," spoiled, bullying big man, but also on the cuff and kick Harry. Harrys room is in a dark narrow cupboard, since ten years, Harry spent all day in there. No one has ever had a birthday for Harry for ten years. However, in Harrys eleven birthday that day, everything changed, the owl messenger brought a mysterious letter, invited him to a meeting he felt forever unforgettable and unbelievable place: Hogwarts School of magic. At Hogwarts, Harry not only found friends, learned to fly in the air, riding a model for the nimbus 2000 broom hit Earth Quebec and win the game, but also get a cloak. He found everything there, from class to meal to sleep, full of magic. But a magic stone appeared, and he was closely related to the fate of Harry...Read this book, I want to make an extraordinary life, eager to dream round outstanding figures. The strength of friendship, the battle between justice and evil, and the courage to fight against fate are all thrilling in the book. Do you want to know whats going on? Turn over the book and see it carefully.《哈利波特》英语读后感篇3Sentiments inspired by reading Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s StoneHe is a boy who has a thin face, black hair and bright-green eyes. He wears round glasses and a thin scar on his forehead which is shaped like a bolt of lightening. He presents you anabsolutely different world by waving around his magic wand. He is in possession of a fascinating broom which can help him fly in the sky easily. He is also a boy who has many traits such as bravery, honesty and kindness. Who is he? He is our small magic master—Harry potter. All the things started from the platform nine and three-quarters and that’s where our whole story began. Harry received a letter of being admitted to a magic school at his eleventh birthday and came to his new school—Hogwarts. People there dressed in cloaks, flicked their wands and uttered spells;Owls are their messengers; Do-it Yourself Brooms are the means of transportation; all the chess pieces of the chess could think and move obeying the orders of their masters. No wonder so many people were crazy for this novel for everything that happened were just like a fairy tale.As for the features of writing, all the characters in the novel were fantastic; take the hero and his two friends for example: The author portrayed the hero as a real friend to his friends and a gentleman to those jealous people. He held the profound meaning of friendship and understood the value of family relationship. His personal charm was shining all over the novel! The hero also made friend with two people. One was clever and cute Hermione Granger and the other was credible and honest Ron Wesley. They were the very friends cherished by the hero.Meanwhile, dramatic plots went through the whole novel. I was deeply impressed by many scenes in it and what impressed me most was the valuable friendship among Harry, Ron and Hermione. When Harry was confronted with the great problem—getting the philosopher’s stone, Ron and Hermio ne made their great efforts to help him without hesitation. What I had tomention on their ways to getting the stone were Ron’s wonderful wizard chess and Hermione’s brilliant logic to the tough puzzle. When playing chess, Ron showed his courage. He risked his life and he even had willingness to sacrifice for the victory of the game. His fearless spirit really moved me a lot. Misfortune never comes singly; the next problem was the tough puzzle. Hermione demonstrated her great breadth of learning and gave a correct answer. She was a real intellectual..Thanks to their selfless help, Harry could win the last victory.‘A friend in need is a friend indeed.’ They three held connotation of the word ‘friend’ and willing to pay for friendship at any cost. Their inner love for each other presented without reservation. Contrary to them, the evil man in the novel—Lord Voldemort. Being cruel, guileful, unscrupulous, he committed all manners of crimes including murder, arson, etc. Although he held power and status, he was still overwhelmed with grief. The main reason was that there was no love with him.All in all, Harry and his friends set a good example for us. Connecting to our life, we should value our friendships, be with sincere hearts toward others and let others feel our love. Believe me, as long as friendship and love exists in your belief, you’ll have a good harvest on your road.Thats my comments on Harry Potter and the philosphers stone. Thats all. Thank you so much.《哈利波特》英语读后感篇4Do you know Harry Potter? Its one of my favourite sparetime readings and its written by J. K. Rowling. So I read it again and again, each time I have different feelings, sometimes I even feel as if Im one of Potters partners. Now there are five edition of Harry Potter published and they are very popular with young students. Books about Harry Potter have sold millions of copies all over the world. Do you like Harry Potter? If you havent read the book yet, read it now and youll find a wonderful world.《哈利波特》英语读后感篇5Setting:Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is where Harry Potter and his friends learned about magic.Main Characters:Harry Potter is an 11 year old boy whos parents died, and he goes to Hogwarts.Ron Weasley is an 11 year old boy who has 5 brothers and 1 sister, and he goes to Hogwarts.Hermione is a 10 year old girl who likes learn a lots , and she goes to Hogwarts.Quirrell is Hogwartss teacher,Voldemorts helper.Voldemort is an evil guy of the magic world.Climax:Harry never thought Quirrell was helping Voldemort. She is an American woman writer. She likes writing from childhood. At the age of 24, she went to London by train, saw a pengtou with the boy, from the initiation of the "Harry Potter" series of creative thoughts. In 1997, he began to create the first part, from this year to one, the world set off "Harry Potter" frenzy.A child named Harry Porter, an extraordinary child, was born with a sign of struggle against the bad Lord Voldemort, a scar like lightning. It was a death curse marks, because her mother's sacrifice of his death became the scar reduction. He was Uncle adopted a very wronged childhood, cousin Dudley always fight with big bully him, just like this for 11 years. On his 11 birthday, something extraordinary happened and changed his life. Hagrid, a very softly watched guard, sent him a letter from a magic school to prove his fate as a wizard from birth. He was happy to go to school, and knew about a series of Wizarding worlds such as diagonal alley. To the school also know two good friends, one is silly brain Ron, there is also a Harry as a child's mother. One is excellent in character and learning Hermione, there are twoordinary Muggle parents. (not magical) they worked together to save the Sorcerer's stone, fought against Voldemort, and finally destroyed Voldemort's dream, and received the respect of everyone. And then there's a sacrifice. For the sake of the interests of others and completely sacrifice themselves, give up everything, into the death, this behavior has incredible power, and even the world's most powerful magic, have no choice for it. It can be said that this kind of behavior has the power to "urge all demons". Even reaching such an idea, such a potential, can make the mighty demon feel very weak and can't stand it. In fact, Harry Potter survived this power and defeated his powerful opponents. In the final battle he chose a An important juncture of life and death, without resistance to death, a choice of "EXPELLIARMUS" peace spell. He chose not to hurt. The result, he overcame every choice Suoming jinx. And the LORD did die to the Harry Potter magic, died of his injury in the heart of a curse, is harmful to others. Again, this old story is repeated here. The story has been told many times, but almost everyone, especially me, doesn't really believe it, even though it's believed. And then he saw the fear of death, the desire for immortality. There are seven Horcrux and destruction, "the pursuit of eternal life" the spiritual behavior disorder, and also the overall segmentation, will eventually burst, and the three Deathly Hallows: the most powerful death wand, the resurrection stone, the cloak, has a deep symbolic meaning, although the author is not deliberately it has the symbolic significance."Harry Potter" is a book worth reading, a good book, it tells us a vivid story in a plain and easy language. This book taught me to understand the love is great, the power of love is infinite,he can bring courage and strength for you, the devil lost magic; know the enemy and fight resolutely, insist on, until victory, even sacrifice their lives; how to justice, not to in crooked ways, justice will prevail over evil. I like Harry Potter, to be like him, to be brave, kind and wise.I think this book is very worth reading. It is very interesting. 7Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is where Harry Potter and his friends learned about magic.

1】Ive just fininshed reading the first 4 harry potter books for about the 5th time through, and theyre just as magical and affecting as they have ever been. everything is in here: suspense, adventure, mystery, humour, danger. theres even some pretty satisfying paybacks. the characters are fantastic and fantastically realistic. there are bad people who turn out to be good guys and good people who turn out to be bad guys, just like life.I think the thing i like best about these books is the message that its okay to be different - to be not "normal." i would love for everyone in school to have hear that message. it would probably reduce the bullying around the school. These books value real thoughts. much has been made of harrys rule breaking, but only once in the series so far does he break a rule for arbitrary personal gain. most of the time he makes a decision that whats right is more important than whats written. and you know what? lifes like that sometimes. i think its great that kids are getting an example of how to do whats right even when it involves breaking rules. the potter books also show that there are consequences for rule breaking. if not getting caught and getting a detention, then a spell going wrong and someone getting turned into a cat. this shows that when you make a decision to go against the rules that things may not go as you expected and you have to take responsibility for the outcome. 2】Oliver twist, one of the most famous works of charles dic kens’, is a novel reflecting the tragic fact of the life in britain in 18th century. The author who himself was born in a poor family wrote this novel in his twenties with a view to reveal the ugly masks of those cruel criminals and to expose the horror and violence hidden underneath the narrow and dirty streets in london. The hero of this novel was oliver twist, an orphan, who was thrown into a world full of poverty and crime. he suffered enormous pain, such as hunger, thirst, beating and abuse. while reading the tragic experiences of the little oliver, i was shocked by his sufferings. i felt for the poor boy, but at the same time i detested the evil fagin and the brutal bill. to my relief, as was written in all the best stories, the goodness eventually conquered devil and oliver lived a happy life in the end. one of the plots that attracted me most is that after the theft, little oliver was allowed to recover in the kind care of mrs. maylie and rose and began a new life. he went for walks with them, or rose read to him, and he worked hard at his lessons. he felt as if he had left behind forever the world of crime and hardship and poverty. How can such a little boy who had already suffered oppressive affliction remain pure in body and mind? the reason is the nature of goodness. i think it is the most important information implied in the novel by dickens-he believed that goodness could conquer every difficulty. although i don’t think goodness is omnipotent, yet i do believe that those who are kind-hearted live more happily than those who are evil-minded.For me, the nature of goodness is one of the most necessary character for a person. goodness is to humans what water is to fish. he who is without goodness is an utterly worthless person. on the contrary, as the famous saying goes, ‘the fragrance always stays in the hand that gives the rose’,he who is with goodness undoubtedly is a happy and useful person. people receiving his help are grateful to him and he also gets gratified from what he has done, and thus he can do good to both the people he has helped and himself. To my disappointment, nowadays some people seem to doubt the existence of the goodness in humanity. they look down on people’s honesty and kindness, thinking it foolish of people to be warm-hearted. as a result, they show no sympathy to those who are in trouble and seldom offer to help others. on the other hand, they attach importance to money and benefit. in their opinion, money is the only real object while emotions and morality are nihility. if they cannot get profit from showing their ‘kindness’, they draw back when others are faced with trouble and even hit a man when he is down. they are one of the sorts that i really detest.Francis bacon said in his essay, ‘goodness, of all virtues and dignities of the mind, is the greatest, being the character of the deity, and without it, man is a busy, mischievous, wretched thing, no better than a kind of vermin.’That is to say a person without goodness is destined to lose everything. therefore, i, a kind person, want to tell those ‘vermin-to-be’ to learn from the kind oliver and regain the nature of goodness. 3】I believe that one of the factors that makes a piece of literature or even a movie a masterpiece is how well the reader can relate to the story. this is definitely a book everyone can relate to.The adventures of tom sawyer is a literary masterpieces, written in 1876 by the famous author mark twain. tom sawyer is a mischievous youngboy who lives in the small town on the mississippi river called st. petersburg. the story line is simple, the book reads like a biography or a memoir of a summer in tom sawyers life.Tom sawyer seems to be the precursor of and the template for misfit kids such as dennis the menace, malcolm in the middle, and calvin and hobbs. what makes this story great is that tom sawyer represents everything that is great about childhood. the book is filled with toms adventures playing pirates and war with his friend joe harper. tom has a trusted friend, huck finn, who few of the adults approve of. the book is filled with ideas of how the world works, such as how pirates and robbers work, that are so innocent, they could only come from a child. it is a story filled with action, adventure, ingenious ideas, love, and schoolyard politics. the whole story is seemingly a complication of what people did or wish they did during their childhood. The book is a little difficult to read at first. personally, it takes me a little while to get used to the 19th century dialect in the book. other than referring to persons of african decent in derogatory terms (which im sure uses terms even young children already know), the book would be an enjoyable read for people of all ages. i highly recommend this book for anyone looking to feel young again, if just for a few hundred pages. 4】Those beautiful flowers---book review: “camille”I read the chinese version of “camille” a few years ago. at that time i was deeply moved by the main character marguerite gautier. “camille” or “the lady of the camellias” by alexandre dumas, fils,is the story of marguerite gautier, a young courtesan, or kept woman, in paris in the mid 1800s, and how she falls in love with a young man, armand duval, and then tries to escape from her questionable past. unfortunately, it comes back to haunt her and she ends up returning to that life and dies painfully and alone, but with the knowledge that she was a noble woman at heart. when i first began to read the book, i did not care for marguerite or her attitude or lifestyle, but as i got further into the narrative, i realized that her saucy attitude was a front to cover the lonely woman that she really was. she felt used, abused and unloved, until the gentle armand duval came into her life and showed her that he loved her as a person and not for what she could do for him. it must have taken great courage for marguerite to leave the life she had lived for so long, knowing all along that it was probably too good to be true and would not last indefinitely. and it also showed that marguerite really loved armand duval for she could even change herself for him. However, happiness didn’t last for long. when m. duval, armands father, came to her, pleading for her to leave armand to save both armands reputation and that of his younger innocent sister, marguerite saw a way to become pure of heart, if not in body. she felt that it was her duty, because she loved armand so much, to do this even though it meant giving up her own happiness and hurting armand temporarily. she reluctantly returned to her former life, knowing that some day armand would forgive her. sadly, she died in debt and basically alone, except for her one female friend, julie duprat, who helped her during her illness. she had her journal sent to armand after her death, explaining why she had made the choices she had. i think dumass last few lines about marguerite being the exception, not the rule were quite true, and i also agreed with his viewthat while her lifestyle could not be condoned, we as a society assume that all of these type of women are cold and heartless, while this may not always be the case. a person can make the wrong choices in life when they are young, and try to redeem themselves, but sometimes past situations prevent them from changing their lives, even though they desperately wish to do so. this applies to both men and women in many different types of circumstances: involvement in crime; drug or alcohol abuse; gambling; prostitution; financial problems; poor marriage choices; etc. and this is the fact, which exists in the whole society. As far as the other characters in the book, i think marguerite was right in saying that no one truly cared about her, but only wanted something from her, the only exceptions being armand and julie duprat. of course, the comte de g. and comte de n. wanted her body and appearance. the duke needed to “wake up and smell the coffee” and realize that she could never replace his dead daughter. if he truly cared, he could have helped her leave her lifestyle without “keeping” her himself. and lastly, prudence was a blood-sucking leech who used marguerite almost worse than the men. i also think she was jealous of the fact that marguerite had so much more courage than herself and someone truly loved her.Last morning, when tiding my bookshelf, i took this book out of the shelf, and a dried flower flew away from the book. it was pale blue, very transparent, with thin fine veins. a dried flower flew away from the book. it was pale blue, very transparent, with thin fine veins. i held it against the morning light and blew on it. the soft breeze carried it away. camille is just like the camellia, she could never escape from the destiny of withering. but it wasn’t her fault; it’s because of the evil of capitalism and the hideousness of that society.Suddenly, i remembered a saying: “women are like the flowers”. those pretty women are like those beautiful flowers; their delicate beauty makes people feel they are the miracle of life. however, even the god envies their beauty. it seems that beautiful women always have tragic endings. as we are normal persons, even we can see the hideousness of humanity that results in their fate of withering, we can at most ask quietly in our hearts: where have those beautiful flowers gone? where have they gone?。

1Jouney to the West is a historic Chinese novel that is considered one of the 4 classics from the Ming Dynasty .These novels along with Outlaws of the Marsh, A Dream in Red Mansion as well as Three Kindoms ha一ve won popular acclaim from generation to generation . Jouney to the West is actually a combination of myth , parable and comedy .It is filled with imagination and ha一ve enjoyed a great and immense popularity among the people in China for over 400 years on account of its fresh and convoluted plots , distinctive and life-like characters, profound and incisive ideological content and life-hearted style .It is based on a story about a Buddhist monk and a bunch of animals with human characteristic(which are his 3 disciples ,the irrevent and capable Monkey, greedy Pig, and Friar Sand) .The animals in the story are actually of a very fairy tale type of mood and they tra一veled west to India to find Buddhist scriptures. The animals themselves are celestial being in mortal forms and they ha一ve magical powers that protect them from the goblins and the evil spirits.Monkey was created out of a rock. He not only has the sharp wit and an unruly nature of a monkey but also extra ordinary powers that he uses to overcome demons and monsters. Monkey is also gifted with intelligence and agility both mentally andphysically. So he puts his talents to use by mastering his skills of wizardry to the point of where he can transform himself 72 times in a blink of an eye. He has a magic wand that can shrink smaller than a pen or expand till it is like a club of bronze and a magic cloud that can take him up to the hea一vens or down to the bales of the earth. Full of life and filled with spirit as well as being sincere and optimistic in nature, he is not bothered by suffering and is always ready to face up to new challenges.Pig sets off his pig like clumsiness with the disposition that is the epitome of honesty and directness. He is always making a mess out of things and generating a lot of humor in the process. Pig fills a role that symbolizes the desire to comfort and pleasure. He too has magical powers but it is just not the same as monkey , who makes him seem naive and clumsy by comparison .Monkey just love to tease him , so pig does all his best to be a thorn in monkey’s side by t elling lies about him to Tang Priest.Another character that appears quite less frequently is Friar Sand . He is quite resolute and his down-to-earth nature is readily apparent. In Jouney to the West, a total of 87 chapters are dedicated to the story of th e Tang Priest ,Xuang Zang’s quest for the Buddhist scriptures. In the course of their journey , they bra一ve a series of dangers and vanquish devils and monsters. The road to the Western Paradise is fraught with danger , whether in mountains and forests or in villages and towns .Before the monk can find the scriptures he must surmount 81 obstacles . Demons of all descriptions like the ferocious Red Boy, the scorpion sipirt of Pipa Ca一ve and spiderwomen ,etc. try to bar their way ,even to the extent of killing and eating XuangZang .Some of these ghostly opponents appear openly hostile ,while others arecunningly disguised . Some wield power over kingdoms or feign to officials carrying out their lawful duties .Monkey plays a central role in every battle with the monsters ,not only contending with them face to face , but also helping his companions overcome the obstacles and restraints that originate within themselves. After overcoming all kinds of evil and devious enemies , with Monkey as the backbone of the company ,the tra一velers finally reach the Western Paradise and accomplish their sacred mission of taking back the scriptures . In this so-called “ stories of the 81 obstacles” which symbolize the difficulties and challenges that people meet in the course of pursuing their ideals , the staunch spirit and character of the 4 companions to battle all enemies and overcome all hurdles in order to attain their goal is manifested very clearly and as much it is a vivid portrayal of the spirit and character of the Chinese nation. With supernatural beings as its protagonists ,Journey to the West creates a world full of fantasy and illusion. But this fantasy world reflects various kinds of contradictions in the society of Wu Chen’en’s time .The characters of the demons are generalizations and sublimations of the characters of ordinary mortals .Fantasy and reality reach a high level of synthesis in Jouney to the West.Humor is a major characteristic of the style of Jouney to the West. Money is the supreme comic figure in this classical Chinese novel. His humor springs from his optimistic self-confidence and his sharp ability to perceive people’s true natures ,as well as his tolerance of others’ weaknesses and his hatred of evil .The humor in this novel is also manisfested in certain plots & subplots of the nature of comedies. Pig’s clumsy actions and speech are invariably hilarious ,but the laughter he elicits istolerant but sad at the same time .This is because the weaknesses in Pig’s character are not unique or accidental ,they ’re common traits of the Chinese character. The author’s humor is built up on a base of profound knowledge of human society and a high degree of psychological penetration.Actually Journey to the west is purification of the mind in that the entire expedition to find Buddhist scriptures is actually a way of achieving spiritual goodness. So in this play three weaknesses arrogance, laziness, even ignorance, they are all weakness of human nature that requires spiritual correction. However honesty ,goodness ,and courage are all our friends in the depths of our soul. And this way the Journey to the west teach us that in human life it is possible to temper ourselves to achieve ideals and goodness. 2"Journey to the west" is the story of tangs monk teacher and pupil four people to go to India to obtain buddhist scriptures. The four of them each have each have advantages, also have various shortcomings.Tangs monk is the advantage of scriptures is determined, no matter how many difficulties on the road, he will go forward, never retreat. He by the spiritual influence of his disciples, help him to achieve true through together. However, disadvantages as well as tangs monk, he not bian true and false, trusting other people, the result is always cheated, if there is no sun wukong, he may be eaten by bones jing early. On the characteristics of the Monkey King is, decline demon all by him all the way, he is very loyal, and detest evil. But his temper, out-of-control, often trouble, such as down ginseng fruit trees, so the teacher give the wearing a straitjacket.Pig eight quit a slacker and greedy and corrupt sleep, just want to melt in trouble, a high lao-zhuang marry daughter-in-law back. Pig eight quit to little in the way of buddhist scriptures is not, however, tangs monk and sun wukong make antinomy, he put the monkey elder brother always come back, please. The sand monk not ability, we see him pick a burden, also can make some small demon in war. But if the sand monk work is the most serious, is not he, who can safely put burden pick to buddhist paradise? Is because of the determination of tangs monk, sun wukong proficiency, pig eight quit to landscape, the sand monk is responsible earnestly, the teacher and pupil joint efforts, finally achieve the perfect.Reading this book, I also understand a truth. Everyone has strengths and weaknesses, we all together to do a thing, as long as it can bring advantages into play, the faults control, can set everyones strength, get things done.《西游记》讲的是唐僧师徒四人去西天取经的.故事。

世界名著英语读后感(精选多篇)第一篇:简爱世界名著全英文读后感全英文读书笔记英语专业大学本科 feelings of reading jane eyre useful expression1) [useful expression]if all the world hated you, and believed you wicked, while your own conscience approved you, and absolved you from guilt, you would not be without friends.2) [useful expression]prejudices, it is well known, as most difficult to eradicate from the heart whose soil has never been loosened or fertilized by education: they grow there, firm as weeds among stones.3) [useful expression]life appears to me too short to be spent in nursing animosity or registering wrongs.the type of materials in this book is written in english, and the topic area is literature. i spent reading the book for 2 months.in the world history of literature, some many classical famous works are going to be immortal, but jane eyre deeply enters people's soul deeply, it by irresistible intrinsic deep has attracted the tens of thousands of readers deeply, has affected people's inner world, is in the world history of literature the eternal classics.when jane eyre was a baby, her parents died. so she had to live with her uncle and his family. unfortunately, her uncle also went away several years later.then jane was sent to the logwood, which was a charity school and became a teacher there when she grown up. later she left it to bee a governess of adela varens, the ward of mr. edward rochester, a thornfield manor. later, jane and mr. rochester fell in love with each other, and they decided to get married. but mr. rochester was revealed that he had a wife during the wedding ceremony. so janeleft thornfield and mr. rochester. otherwise mr. rochester’s wife was crazy. one day, she made a fire. mr. rochester tried his best to save his wife, but failed and his eyes were burnt and he became blind.the terrible news came to jane, she came back to mr. rochester hurriedly. jane told mr. rochester that she still loved him a lot, and tried her best to cheer him up. finally, they got married, and had a lovelybaby.this book enthralled me with the charm of language, and brought home to me the great wealth of english words and phrases.but this bookis too difficult to me, and i had to look up a number of words. if there are explains of some difficult words, i think it will be much better.the figure of jane eyre had the greatest impact on me. after i close the covers of the book, after having a long journey of the spirit, jane eyre, a marvelous figure, has left us so much to recall and to think: i remember her goodness, her pursuit of justice, her self-respect and the clear situation on equality, her striving for life, her toughness andher confidence…the writing of the book is effective, beautiful and even fascinating. the author is skillful in telling stories. i can easilyfind out the characters of these dramatis personages.behind thewonderful story, the author expressed herstrong dissatisfactions to the society then. the author thinks that people should be good educated, and everyone is equal, no matter male or female.the new facts that i hadn’t learn before is goodness.i remember her goodness: for someone who lost arms and blinded in eyes, for someone who despised her for her ordinariness, and even for someone who had hurt her deeply in the past.to me, i think that i can hardly forgive those people who have hurt me deeply. may be it is good enough that not to do some revenge.as a result of reading this book, her story makes methinking about life and i learn much from her experience, at least, that is a fresh new recognition of the real.i can feel that how beauty really is, as we are all fleshly men, so we can’t distinguis h whether a man is of nobleness or humbleness, but fleshly men, so we can’t distinguish whether a man is of nobleness or humbleness, but as there are great differences in our souls, and from that, we can know that whether a manis noble or ordinary, and even obscure, that is, whether he is beautiful or not.in essence, bronte's novel became a direct assault on victorian morality. controversy based in its realistic exposure of thoughts once considered improper for a lady of the 19th century.emotions any respectable girl would repress. women at this time were not to feel passion, nor were they considered sexual beings.to conceive the thought of women expressing rage and blatantly retaliating against authority was defiance against the traditional role of women. jane eyre sent controversy through the literary munity.for not only was it written by awoman but marked the first use of realistic characters. jane's plexity lied in her being neither holy good or evil. she was poor and plain in a time when society considered "an ugly woman a blot on the face of creation." it challenged victorian class structure in a strictly hierarchal society.a relationship between a lowly governess and a wealthy nobleman was simply unheard of. bronte drew criticism for her attack on the aristocracy who she deemed as hypocritical "showy but ... not genuine." she assaulted individual's already established morals by presenting a plausible case for bigamy.
