A: I like classical music too, but I also like rock music. It makes me excited.

B: Y eah, different people like different kinds of music. It is important to find what music types they like.

B: Hello, this is B speaking.

A: Hello, B, this is A. Do you have spare time on Sunday?

B: But I am afraid of speaking English in front other people .

A: Listen and read more.

B: Why should I do listening and reading practice?

A: If you listen and read more, you can make yourself understood, and become more confident.

B: Definitely. It’s just a brochure. Here you are.

A: Oh, look, there are so many useless ads. What a disgustful thing!

B: Disgustful? Why do you feel that?

A: Y ou know, after opening a book, I would devote myself to the content. But there are numbers of ads disrupt my mind, which makes me feel disappointed and tired.

B: As for me, some ads are attractive and fascinating. For example, the ad of coke, “Things go better with coke.”

A: W ell, a piece of ad usually would be continually broadcasted several times. I’m really fed up with it.

B: I think ads are useful in our daily life, to some degree. W e can buy suitable things according to what ads said, which will save our time. W e can buy what we love most among so many similar products.

A: What you have said is reasonable. But you cannot deny that because of ads, the prices of goods become higher.

B: What do you mean by saying that the price of goods becomes higher?

A: What I mean is that company spends too much on advertising. More advertising means higher costs to consumers.

B: Oh, I got it.

A: John, what’s the matter with you?

B: W e will have an exam tomorrow in my physics but I’m afraid I’ll fail it.

A: Have you been studying for the exam?

B: Y ou know, I am always learning by myself. I knew the answer before I stepped into the exam room.

A: What happen then?

B: It seems that I’m a dumb person. Once I look at the paper, my mind goes blank.

A: I could hardly believe it.

B: But it’s true. All I can hear is a buzzing sound, the words blur on the page, and I can’t think .And…

A: And what?

B: And I lose all the hope.

A: Oh, I am sorry to hear that. But anyhow, you have to face the problem and avoid the same thing happening again.

B: Y ou are right. But what can I do?

A: Maybe you can ask Prof. W ang for advice.
