雅思口语话题-书籍类
最近Book类话题卡考的频率有些高,但是很多考生在这上面失分比较多,原因在于他们不知道如何去具体描述这本书以及这本书给自己带来什么。
为了让考生知道如何对于这类话题进行拓展,我们来看看卡片上的提示:
Cue Card
Describe a book you would like to recommend to others
You should say:
what's the name of the book
what type of book it is
what content it has
and explain the reason why you would like to recommend to others

In your country, who would ask the children to read, schools or parents?Well, I’d say both actually. It is required that students should read particular books at school, and the teacher will check if the reading is properly done by the students. Usually, we will have seminars at school to discuss what we have read during the summer and winter holiday. And our parents or I should say most parents are willing to encourage their children to read as many books as possible. Because Chinese people attach great importance to reading books. After all, home is a massive influence. Supportive and understanding parents are key to developing their child’s reading, you know.Do you prefer paper books or E-books?Well, I think this depends upon a couple of things, and I would go with paper books. Physical books exclusively. I lovethe look and feel, the smell of crisp pages, good print and font in a physical book, whether it is a very expensive signed hardcover, paperback or mass-market paperback. I love holding it whilst reading. The overall experience is necessary. They are more accessible. This is what I feel personal. More accessible in terms of the first reading. They have felt easy to the eye over the years and better connections were made when I read them first. Touching the pages and holding the book makes reading a good experience. And...., I love some Classics wherein the books are specially leather-spiral bound; stays immaculate for decades. What kind of books do children read?Well...... I think children read Picture Storybooks. Text and illustrations tell the story in picture storybooks. This type of book is especially appropriate for young children because the colorful and clear illustrations and artwork support a simple storyline. The illustrations often provide additional information not covered in the text. Rhyming stories and books with repeated patterned sounds are particularly interesting to children. Picture storybooks remain children's favorite books long aftertheir preschool years. And what else….. Yeah, I thinkchildren like participation books coz youngchildren delight in being able to repeat the book's suggestions, such as clapping their hands, touching their toes, or covering their eyes. Lift-the-flap books also promote interaction. You know, children enjoy peeking under the flap to find the answer or make a new discovery.Do you think parents should continue reading?Yeah definitely. And I do think that parents should read with their children. It's a real shame that parents don't realize that just 10 minutes of reading with their children each day. I have read a report somewhere saying that Reading together six days a week means an extra hour of support for a child. It's definitely cheaper than an hour with a tutor and it could make a much bigger difference. Parents are really important reading role models and research shows that children's attitudes towards reading improve the more they see their parents read.Do you think printed books will continue to exist? No, I think paper books will continue to be printed, alongside other technologies. Yeah, it’s true that electro nic books have any number of advantages—they take up less room, it’s lighter and easier to carry one device than a dozen physical books, they can be easily updated. But they aren’tgood for everything. I think most people have had the experience of picking up a book and saying, “Now, let me think, the paragraph I was talking about was about halfway through, on the left-hand side, near the bottom of the page” and quickly find the passage in question. But whatever the answer is, I think that different types of text will migrate to different delivery systems. So, while electronic devices might be better for disposable reading, it doesn’t lend itself as well to keep reading or study.。

雅思口语范文Part 3 Topic 54 最近读的一本书
Topic 54 最近读的一本书(低频)1. What kind of books do children read?I think children like reading books about fairy tales. This is because fairy tales499 usually have interesting and happy plots500. Children can imagine a lot when they read them. They also love books that have a lot of pictures, like comics or photos. As far as I know, most children don’t like words actually, so a lot of them love reading picture books.2. What kind of books do adults read?Well, it really depends on the person. I’ve found that a lot of women love reading romance books501,while more men like reading how-to books and historical novels. Generally, I guess adults like books that are about real-life topics and issues. I don’t think they’re interested in things that are completely made up, like fantasy.3. When it comes to cultivating children’s reading habits, who are more important – teachers or parents?Well, it’s tough to say. I actually believe both parents and teachers have important influences on children. But talking about cultivating children’s reading habits, I think parents are more important. Teachers can give students advice about what books they should read, but they can’t force children to read. So parents have more of an influence in their children’s lives. For example, they can read with their children or buy books their children like. In this way, parents can make sure their children are reading regularly.4. Which is more beneficial – reading books or watching TV and films?Well, in my opinion, reading books is more beneficial. Part of the reason is that502 I love reading books more than watching TV and films. I suppose reading books helps teach people critical thinking skills503. The information from TV and films usually doesn’t make you think as hard. But with books, you usually have more room504 for thinking, and you can also exercise your imagination more.5. How should parents encourage their children to read books?I think parents can encourage their children to read books in lots of ways. One of the easiest and most important ways is to read books with them at an early age. For example, parents can read bedtime stories to their children before they go to sleep. That way, the child will love stories in books and become interested in reading. I know this because it worked on me505.6. What do you think about bedtime stories? It seems to me that bedtime stories can be a very important part of someone’schildhood. For example,I’m really close to my mom because she read me lots of stories right before I went to sleep. It was a nice time for us to be close to one another. So in that respect, I think bedtime stories are great for children’s growth. They also help them become interested in stories in books, and help them cultivate reading habits.7. What are the influences of modern technology on reading habits?Well, modern technology has definitely changed the way that people read things. Since it’s so easy to access the internet nowadays, more and more people are reading books or news online. Plus, modern technology makes reading cheaper, so people actually read more often than before. I mean, basically, you don’t need to pay to read news on the internet, and e-books are usually dirt-cheap506.499 fairy tales:神话,童话故事500 plots:故事情节501 romance books:言情小说502 Part of the reason is that: 一部分原因是…503 critical thinking skills: 批判性思维的能力504 more room:更多的空间505 it worked on me: 对我起作用,对我很奏效506 dirt-cheap: 非常便宜。
介绍最近读过的一本书英语作文
Reading "The Alchemist" - A Journey of Self-Discovery and TransformationOne of the most enlightening books I have recently read is "The Alchemist" by Paulo Coelho. This novel tells the story of Santiago, a shepherd boy who dreams of traveling the world and discovering a treasure. Along his journey, he meets various characters and experiences various adventures that help him grow and transform. The theme of the book is the pursuit of one's personal legend, which is a deep-seated desire or dream that guides a person throughout their life. Santiago's journey is not just a physical one, but also an inner journey of self-discovery and transformation. He learns to trust his instincts, face his fears, and embrace the uncertainty of life. One of the most powerful lessons in the book is the importance of following one's heart and pursuing what truly matters. Santiago's decision to abandon his stable life as a shepherd and embark on a journey to fulfill his dream teaches us that we should always stay true to ourselves and pursue our passions.Another significant aspect of the book is the concept of the universe conspiring to help those who are committed to their personal legend. Santiago meets many helpful characters throughout his journey, and each encounter brings him closer to his dream. This idea encourages us to believe that the universe supports us in our pursuits and that we should have faith in ourselves and our abilities. The writing style of Paulo Coelho is beautiful and poetic, making the story come alive. The imagery and symbolism used throughout the book add depth and meaning to the narrative. The characters are well-developed and their stories are engaging and thought-provoking.In conclusion, "The Alchemist" is a powerful book that encourages us to pursue our dreams, stay true to ourselves, and have faith in the universe. It teaches us that life is a journey of self-discovery and transformation, and that through facing our fears and embracing the unknown, we can achieve anything we set our minds to. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for inspiration and guidance on their own journey of personal growth and fulfillment.**读《炼金术士》——一场自我发现和蜕变的旅程**最近我读过的一本极富启迪性的书是保罗·柯艾略的《炼金术士》。

It is a thick, factual book about many different subjects. It is really a collection of information and anecdotes related to our private lives, past and present.我最近读到的一本书叫做《家:比尔布莱森的短篇私人生活史》。
这是一本关于许多不同主题的厚而真实的书。
它实际上是一个关于我们的私人生活,过去和现在的信息和轶事的集合。
The book is mainly about things that have been included in our homes over the centuries. The author started out by wondering about the history of everything in his own home. As it is a factual book rather than a novel, it does not have a plot as such. Each chapter in the book covers the historyof a particular room. For example, the chapter on the kitchen talks about the history of running water, electricity, gas cooking and so on. The chapter about the bathroom looks at the history of plumbing, sanitation and privacy. The book contains so much interesting information that I think I will have to read it again in order to take it all in.这本书主要讲的是几个世纪以来我们家的东西。

上网搜信息What are the differences between getting information from library and getting information from the newspaper?I think it is more complicated to get information from the library than from a newspaper. When searching information in a library, you are forced to first find books that you are looking for, write down their locations, and then go searching for them through the aisles of the library. You must then gather them all up and read through them, trying to find relevant information. However, the newspaper is generally thinner than books, which means less reading times. Moreover, the newspaper has a certain theme. If you want to find financial information, you can buy a financial newspaper. 雅思考试口语高频话题:abookyourecentlyread1
Describe a book you recently read. You should say what book it was when you read it why you read it and explain what you liked and (possibly ) disliked about the book. what book it was As you may know, many Chinese people love complex love stories and the is perhaps the most popular and well-developed of them. when you read it I have read the whole novel from the beginning to the end only once 3 months ago, but I like it and I felt myself loss when I finished that novel. I lingered at the last few chapters for long enough to get myself back to a normal life. why you read it It tells us the difference between Chinese literature and Western literature. At the end of each chapter, there is always a line which says ‘if the reader wants to know what happens next, please read the next chapter’. The line suggests that these chapters were each written separately over a period of time, thus, it functions as a reminder for readers to wait for the next chapter. These were the most developed stages of Chinese fiction writing. And explain what you liked about the book Moreover, the reason for the novel’s outstanding reputation and distinguishable status is that the novel is ‘the direct way to learn about Chinese culture. You cannot read Laozi or Confucius to understand Chinese society and Chinese people, while the book is the shortcut’. Therefore, the language used for this classical work is between formal and colloquial. In addition, the work was completed during Qing dynasty which is the last feudal empire in Chinese history, thus, the language is classical but also quite close to modern Chinese; it is intelligible for Chinese readers without any footnotes. Furthermore, exaggerated expressions are frequently used in the original text to show the author’s irony towards the society.。
2019雅思口语考试真题(3)
2019年雅思口语Part3模拟试题及答案(二)book you want to read again1Q. How often do you read books?Answer: Unfortunately, I don't read books very often. When I was younger my mom used to tell me stories from different books so this is the reason that I am aware of the fairytales. The only book I have read is 'Twilight' by Stephenie Meyer when I was 15 years old and the motivation to do that was the movie with the same name which was releasedin 2008. From another perspective, though, I read almost all of my books when I was at university but I was forced to do that. So I would come to the conclusion that, I don't read books in my free time but only when I have to.Tip: You can either say that you don't or you do read books. If you are in the first category refer to the reasons why you don't do that. For example, you can say that youdon't have time, many interesting books are expensive, you can't read online books because it's tiring and anything else comes to your mind.If you are in the second category, just think of the kinds of books you have read and try to describe them in a few words. You can also include your university books.2Q. How books can impact on a man's life?Answer: Books are good sources of knowledge and they actually enlighten us. Reading a book is a really good and helpful way whenever you are bored or stressed out. It is preferable to me reading a book than to surfing the internet.Going further, in this way people can develop their imagination and nurture their mind and thinking skills. Moreover, there is a possibility for someone to change their view about specific things such as religious issues, gender parity, culture and so on and become more open-minded by reading books. For instance, somebody who isn't romantic may change his opinion after reading a book with a romantic story or someone who is narrow-minded and biassed may change their attitude. Finally, it's a good and effective way to practice a foreign language and this is something I did before coming to England.3Q. Name some of the famous writers of your country?Answer: Answer: One of the most famous English writers is JK Rowling, the author of the Harry Potter fantasy series. Her books have gained worldwide attention, won multiple awards, and were sold more than 400 million copies so far. John Milton whose poetry has been seen as the perfect poetic expression in the English language for four centuries is also from my country. Agatha Christie who is reputably known throughout the world as the "Queen of Crime" and Samuel Johnson who is known as 'arguably the most distinguished man of letters in English history' are only some of the many meritorious English authors.Tip: You can talk about a/few writer(s) of your own country who is successful and well-known even worldwide. They might be contemporary writers or might be from past centuries.4Q. Have you ever thought about writing a book?Answer: To be honest I haven't. My writing skills aren't so good so if I had decided to do something like that it would have been a moderate work. In fact, I wouldn't wantthat because I am a perfectionist. In addition, my imagination isn't that vivid to create a story myself so I would jump to the conclusion that I am not the proper person for this activity. Besides, my favourite types of books are biographies so this is the only plot that I could have written. However, I prefer sharing my personal stories and experiences with my family and friends in verbal from than written form.Tip: You can also give a semi-negative answer by saying that you haven't written a book but you would like to and give examples and your idea about the story. You can also say that you have thought about writing a book and refer to its content. Finally, you can say that you have written a book if so give details when you wrote it, what was the story and how you were inspired to write this book.5Q. How reading books is different from watching movies?Answer: It is quite different indeed! While reading a book you can imagine the characters and the scenes you are reading about and adjust them to your desires. Everyone makes an image about the main characters' outer appearance, inner traits and so on and personally when I read a book I have a specific actor or actress in my mind. So, I would say that books give someone the chance to make stories based on their personality.Movies, on the other hand, have some standards. There is the visual element which is absent in books and it can beeither good or bad because in some cases watching a movie is much better than reading a book but the opposite can happen as well. Personally, I have seen movies having read the books before and some of them weren't as good as I expected.。

最近读的书英文作文
最近读的书英文作文I recently finished reading a book called "The Alchemist" by Paulo Coelho. It's a captivating story about a young shepherd named Santiago who embarks on a journey to find his personal legend. The book is filled with wisdom and teaches valuable life lessons. One of the things that struck me about this book is the idea of following one's dreams. Santiago's journey is a metaphor for pursuing our passions and not being afraid to take risks. It made me reflect on my own dreams andinspired me to chase after them with determination and courage.Another theme that resonated with me is the importance of listening to our hearts. Throughout the story, Santiago is guided by his intuition and learns to trust his instincts. This reminded me of the power of inner wisdom and the importance of staying true to ourselves, even in the face of challenges and doubts. The book also explores the concept of destiny and the role of the universe in guiding us towards our purpose. It made me ponder on the idea that everything happens for a reason and that there are no coincidences in life. It encouraged me to have faith in the journey and believe that everything will unfold as it should. The writing style of "The Alchemist" is simple yet profound. Coelho's use of metaphors and symbolism adds depth to the story and allows readers to interpret the book in their own unique way. The language is poetic and evocative, making it a pleasure to read and immerse oneself in the world of the story.Overall, "The Alchemist" is a thought-provoking book that reminds us of the power of dreams, the importance of listening to our hearts, and the belief in the journey. It is a book that I will definitely revisit in the future and recommend to others who are in search of inspiration and guidance.。
