Actors：Dufu, the old man, the old woman

(the old man is coughing badly, he is seriously ill.)

Old woman: Darling！Are you feeling better now? You know, I’m so

worried about you.

Old man: Old biddy,Don’t worry about me.I’ll be better soon. Take a rest!

Old woman: If our boys were still at home, they would try their best to take care of us. But......, my poor boy! The war killed 2 of

my boys and I don’t know what will happen to my youngest

boy!

(Dufu go to the doorway, knock at the door gently)

Old man: Oh my! Who is knocking at the door! The soldiers! They are

drafting!

Old woman: Shi----Be quite! Let me have a look!

(the old woman opened the door!)

Dufu: I’m so sorry to bother you deep in the night. I’m very grateful if you can offer me a room for a night.

Old man: Come in , please! It’s dangerous outside!

(Dufu follows the old couple into the room and they are talking about something when suddenly the soldiers are kicking the door!) Soldiers: Anyone inside? Get out of there! Open the door!

(All the three are scared!)

Old woman: They are drafting! You’d better hide yourself! Be quite!

Hurry!

Old man: You are right! This way please!

Dufu: take care of yourself, Please.Madam.

(They jump over the wall and hide themselves. The sergeant and the soldiers burst in, and search the room rudely, but they find nobody but the old woman.)

Sergeant:(angrily) Where are your boys! The young men! Hand out them!

Old woman: Sir! All my three boys went to the war. Two of them died two months ago, the youngest one is still in the army. There is no able-bodied men in my hose.
