Well, in my opinion, there are some very important skills that can help people make the right decisions. One is to establish a positive decision-making environment. What I mean is to achieve a goal, to make sure that the issues discussed are right, and to agree on the process that drives the decision. The other is to propose solutions, evaluate alternatives, and determine and evaluate possible consequences. Finally, by far the most important skill is to consider certain constraints and choose the best option.

Well, my experience shows that a good decision maker is first and foremost a person who understands and can manage the emotions of himself and others, because in order to make a correct decision, one needs to pay attention to the facts as much as possible, and only when the emotions are controlled can the attention be focused. I guess there are a lot of ways to improve your decision-making skills, and all of them are based on analysing and estimating the situation. To my mind, the first step you have to take is weigh the pros and cons of your decision to ensure that you are making the best decision possible. In order to do that you may need to do research or even get an opinion of a well-informed person. You should also learn how to plan ahead and not to dwell on mistakes leaving more time for uncovering the risks or choosing the best alternative.
