大学英语六级口语考试真题练习3篇大学英语六级口语考试真题练习1A painter hangs his or her finished pictures on a wall, and everyone can see it.A composer writes a work, but no one can hear it until it is performed.Professional singers and players have great responsibilities, for the composer is utterly dependent on them.A student of music needs as long and as arduous a training to become a performer as a medical student needs to become a doctor.Mosttraining is concerned with technique, for musicians have to have the muscular proficiency of an athlete or a ballet dancer.Singers practice breathing every day,as their vocal chords would be inadequate without controlled muscular support.String players practice moving the fingers of the left hand up and down, while drawing the bow to and fro with the right arm—two entirely different movements.Singers and instruments have to be able to get every note perfectly in tune.Pianists are spared this particular anxiety, for the notes are already there, waiting for them, and it is the piano tuner’s responsibility to tune the instrument for them. But they have their own difficulties;the hammers that hit the string have to be coaxed not to sound like percussion, and each overlapping tone has to sound clear. This problem of getting clear texture is one that confronts student conductors:they have to learn to know every note of the music and how it should sound, and they have to aim at controlling these sound with fanatical but selfless authority.Technique is of no use unless it is combined with musical knowledge and understanding.Great artists are those who are so thoroughly at home in the language of music that they can enjoy performing works written in any century.大学英语六级口语考试真题练习2题目要求:当前,推迟退休年龄是人民关注的热点。

Identify the paragraphfrom which the information is derived. You may choose a paragraph more than once. Each paragraph is marked with a letter. Answer the questions by marking thecorresponding letter on Answer Sheet 2.Are We in an Innovation Lull?[A] Scan the highlights of this year's Consumer Electronics Show ( CES ), and you may get a slightfeeling of having seen them before. Many of the coolest gadgets this year are the same as thecoolest gadgets last year--or the year before, even. The booths are still exciting, and the demosare still just as crazy. It is still easy to be dazzled by the display of drones (⽆⼈机),3D printers, virtual reality goggles ( 眼镜) and more "smart" devices than you could ever hope to catalog.Upon reflection, however, it is equally easy to feel like you have seen it all before. And it ishardnot to think: Are we in an innovation lull ( 间歇期) ?[B] In some ways, the answer is yes. For years, smartphones, televisions, tablets, laptops anddesktops have made up a huge part of the market and driven innovation. But now these segmentsare looking at slower growth curves--or shrinking markets in some cases--as consumers are notas eager to spend money on new gadgets. Meanwhile, emerging technologies--the drones,3Dprinters and smart-home devices of the world--now seem a bit too old to be called "the next bigthing. "[C] Basically the tech industry seems to be in an awkward period now. "There is not any one-hitwonder, and there will not be one for years to come," said Gary Shapiro, president and chiefexecutive of the Consumer Technology Association (CTA). In his eyes, however, that doesn'tnecessarily mean that innovation has stopped. It has just grown up a little. "Many industries aregoing out of infancy and becoming adolescents," Shapiro said.[D] For instance, new technologies that are building upon existing technology have not found theirfooting well enough to appeal to a mass audience, because, in many cases, they need to workeffectively with other devices to realize their full appeal. Take the evolution of the smart home, for example. Companies are pushing it hard but make it almost overwhelming even to dip a toe inthe water for the average consumer, because there are so many compatibility issues to thinkabout. No average person wants to figure out whether their favorite calendar software works withtheir fridge or whether their washing machine and tablet get along. Having to install a different appfor each smart appliance in your home is annoying; it would be nicer if you could manageeverything together. And while you may forgive your smartphone an occasional fault, youprobably have less patience for error messages from your door lock.[E] Companies are promoting their own standards, and the market has not had time to choose awinner yet as this is still very new. Companies that have long focused on hardware now have tothink of ecosystems instead to give consumers practical solutions to their everyday problems."The dialogue is changing from what is technologically possible to what is technologicallymeaningful," said economist Shawn DuBravac. DuBravac works for CTA--which puts on theshow each year--and said that this shift to a search for solutions has been noticeable as heresearched his predictions for 2016.[F] "So much of what CES has been about is the cool. It is about the flashiness and the gadgets,"said John Curran, managing director of research at Accenture. "But over the last couple of years, and in this one in particular, we are starting to see companies shift from what is the largest screensize, the smallest form factor or the shiniest object and more into what all of these devices do thatis practical in a consumer's life. " Even the technology press conferences, which have been high-profile in the past and reached a level of drama and theatrics fitting for a Las Vegas stage, have adifferent bent to them. Rather than just dazzling with a high cool factor, there is a focus on thepractical. Fitbit, for example, released its first smartwatch Monday, selling with a clearpurpose--to improve your fitness--and promoting it as a "tool, not a toy. " Not only that, itsupports a number of platforms: Apple's iOS, Google's Android and Microsoft's Windows phone.[G] That seems to be what consumers are demanding, after all. Consumers are becoming increasinglybored with what companies have to offer: A survey of 28,000 consumers in 28 countries releasedby Accenture found consumers are not as excited about technology as they once were. Forexample, when asked whether they would buy a new smartphone this year, only 48 percent saidyes--a six-point drop from 2015.[H] And when it comes to the hyper-connected super-smart world that technology firms are paintingfor us, it seems that consumers are growing more uneasy about handing over the massive amountsof consumer data needed to provide the personalized, customized solutions that companies needto improve their services. That could be another explanation for why companies seem to bestrengthening their talk of the practicality of their devices.[I] Companies have already won part of the battle, having driven tech into every part of our lives, tracking our steps and our very heartbeats. Yet the persistent question of " Why do I needthat?"--or, perhaps more tellingly,"Why do you need to know that?"--dogs the steps of manynew ventures. Only 13 percent of respondents said that they were interested in buying asmartwatch in 2016, for example--an increase of just one percent from the previous year despite ayear of high-profile launches. That is bad news for any firm that may hope that smartwatches canmake up ground for maturing smartphone and tablet markets. And the survey found flat demandfor fitness monitors, smart thermostats (恒温器) and connected home cameras, as well.[J] According to the survey, that lack of enthusiasm could stem from concerns about privacy andsecurity. Even among people who have bought connected devices of some kind,37 percent saidthat they are going to be more cautions about using these devices and services in the future. A full18 percent have even returned devices until they feel they can get safer guarantees against havingtheir sensitive information hacked.[K] That, too, explains the heavy Washington presence at this year's show, as these new technologiesintrude upon heavily regulated areas. In addition to many senior officials from the Federal Tradeand Federal Communications commissions, this year's list of policy makers also includesappearances from Transportation Secretary Anthony Foxx, to talk about smart cities, and FederalAviation Administration Administrator Michael Huerta, to talk about drones.[L] Curran, the Accenture analyst, said that increased government interest in the show makes senseas technology becomes a larger part of our lives. "There is an incompatibility in the rate at whichthese are advancing relative to the way we're digesting it," he said. "Technology is becomingbigger and more aspirational, and penetrating almost every aspect of our lives. We have tounderstand and think about the implications, and balance these great innovations with thepotential downsides they naturally carry with them. "36. Consumers are often hesitant to try smart-home devices because they are worried aboutcompatibility problems.37. This year's electronics show featured the presence of many officials from the federal government.38. The market demand for electronic devices is now either declining or not growing as fast as before.39. One analyst suggests it is necessary to accept both tlie positive and negative aspects of innovativeproducts.40. The Consumer Electronics Show in recent years has begun to focus more on the practical value thanthe showiness of electronic devices.41. Fewer innovative products were found at this year's electronic products show.42. Consumers are becoming more worried about giving personal information to tech companies to getcustomized products and services.43. The Consumer Technology Association is the sponsor of the annual Consumer Electronics Show.44. Many consumers wonder about the necessity of having their fitness monitored.45. The electronic industry is maturing even though no wonder products hit the market.Section CDirections: There are 2 passages in this section. Each passage is followed by some questions orunfinished statements. For each of them there are four choices marked A, B, C andD. You should decide on the best choice and mark the corresponding letter on AnswerSheet 2 with a single line through the centre.Passage OneQuestions 46 to 50 are based on the following passage. The Paris climate agreement finalised in December last year heralded a new era for climate action. For the first time, the world's nations agreed to keep global warming well below 2℃.This is vital for climate-vulnerable nations. Fewer than 4% of countries are responsible for morethan half of the world's greenhouse gas emissions. In a study published in Nature Scientific Reports,we reveal just how deep this injustice runs. Developed nations such as Australia, the United States, Canada, and European countries areessentially climate "free-riders": causing the majority of the problems through high greenhouse gasemissions, while incurring few of the costs such as climate change's impact on food and water. In otherwords, a few countries are benefiting enormously from the consumption of fossil fuels, while at thesame time contributing disproportionately to the global burden of climate change. On the flip side, there are many "forced riders", who are suffering from the climate changeimpacts despite having scarcely contributed to the problem. Many of the world's most climatevulnerable countries, the majority of which are African or small island states, produce a very smallquantity of emissions. This is much like a non-smoker getting cancer from second-hand smoke, whilethe heavy smoker is fortunate enough to smoke in good health. The Paris agreement has been widely hailed as a positive step forward in addressing climate changefor all, although the details on addressing "climate justice" can be best described as sketchy. The goal of keeping global temperature rise "well below" 2~C is commendable but the emissions-reduction pledges submitted by countries leading up to the Paris talks are very unlikely to deliver onthis.More than $100 billion in funding has been put on the table for supporting developing nations toreduce emissions. However, the agreement specifies that there is no formal distinction betweendeveloped and developing nations in their responsibility to cut emissions, effectively ignoring historicalemissions. There is also very little detail on who will provide the funds or, importantly, who isresponsible for their provision. Securing these funds, and establishing who is responsible for raisingthem will also be vital for the future of climate-vulnerable countries. The most climate-vulnerable countries in the world have contributed very little to creating theglobal disease from which they now suffer the most. There must urgently be a meaningful mobilisationof the policies outlined in the agreement if we are to achieve national emissions reductions whilehelping the most vulnerable countries adapt to climate change. And it is clearly up to the current generation of leaders from high-emitting nations to decidewhether they want to be remembered as climate change tyrants or pioneers.46. The author is critical of the Paris climate agreement becauseA. it is unfair to those climate-vulnerable nationsB. it aims to keep temperature rise below 2℃ onlyC. it is beneficial to only fewer than 4% of countriesD. it burdens developed countries with the sole responsibility47. Why does the author call some developed countries climate "free-riders"?A. They needn't worry about the food and water they consume.B. They are better able to cope with the global climate change.C. They hardly pay anything for the problems they have caused.D. They are free from the greenhouse effects affecting "forced riders".48. Why does the author compare the "forced riders" to second-hand smokers?A. They have little responsibility for public health problems.B. They are vulnerable to unhealthy environmental conditions.C. They have to bear consequences they are not responsible for.D. They are unaware of the potential risks they are confronting.49. What does the author say about the $100 billion funding?A. It will motivate all nations to reduce carbon emissions.B. There is no final agreement on where it will come from.C. There is no clarification of how the money will be spent.D. It will effectively reduce greenhouse emissions worldwide.50. what urgent action must be taken to realise the Paris climate agreement?A. Encouraging high-emitting nations to take the initiative.B. Calling on all the nations concerned to make joint efforts.C. Pushing the current world leaders to come to a consensus.D. Putting in effect the policies in the agreement at once.Passage TwoQuestions 51 to 55 are based on the following passage.Teenagers at risk of depression, anxiety and suicide often wear their troubles like a neon (霓虹灯)sign. Their risky behaviors--drinking too much alcohol, using illegal drugs, smoking cigarettes andskipping school--can alert parents and teachers that serious problems are brewing. But a new study finds that there's another group of adolescents who are in nearly as much dangerof experiencing the same psychiatric symptoms: teens who use tons of media, don't get enough sleepand have a sedentary (不爱活动的) lifestyle.Of course, that may sound like a description of every teenager on the planet. But the study warnsthat it is teenagers who engage in all three of these practices in the extreme who are truly in jeopardy.Because their behaviors are not usually seen as a red flag, these young people have been dubbed the"invisible risk" group by the study's authors."In some ways they're at greater risk of falling through the cracks," says researcher VladimirCarli. "While most parents, teachers and clinicians would react to an adolescent using drugs or gettingdrunk, they may easily overlook teenagers who are engaging in inconspicuous behaviors."The study's authors surveyed 12,395 students and analyzed nine risk behaviors, including excessivealcohol use, illegal drug use, heavy smoking, high media use and truancy (逃学). Their aim was todetermine the relationship between these risk behaviors and mental health issues in teenagers.About 58% of the students demonstrated none or few of the risk behaviors. Some 13% scored highon all nine of the risk behaviors. And 29%, the "invisible risk" group, scored high on three inparticular: They spent five hours a day or more on electronic devices. They slept six hours a night orless. And they neglected "other healthy activities."The group that scored high on all nine of the risk behaviors was most likely to show symptoms ofdepression; in all, nearly 15% of this group reported being depressed, compared with just 4% of thelow-risk group. But the invisible group wasn't far behind the high-risk set, with more than 13% of themexhibiting depression. The findings caught Carli off guard. "We were very surprised," he says. "The high-risk group andlow-risk group are obvious. But this third group was not only unexpected, it was so distinct and solarge--nearly one third of our sample--that it became a key finding of the study. "Carli says that one of the most significant things about his study is that it provides new early-warning signs for parents, teachers and mental health-care providers. And early identification, supportand treatment for mental health issues, he says, are the best ways to keep them from turning into full-blown disorders.51. What does the author mean by saying "Teenagers at risk of depression, anxiety and suicide oftenwear their troubles like a neon sign" (Lines 1 - 2, Para.1 ) ?A. Mental problems can now be found in large numbers of teenagers.B. Teenagers' mental problems are getting more and more attention.C. Teenagers' mental problems are often too conspicuous not to be observed.D. Depression and anxiety are the most common symptoms of mental problems.52. What is the finding of the new study?A. Teenagers' lifestyles have changed greatly in recent years.B. Many teenagers resort to drugs or alcohol for mental relief.C. Teenagers experiencing psychological problems tend to use a lot of media.D. Many hitherto unobserved youngsters may have psychological problems.53. Why do the researchers refer to teens who use tons of media, don't get enough sleep and have asedentary lifestyle as the "invisible risk" group?A. Their behaviors can be an invisible threat to society.B. Their behaviors do not constitute a warning signal.C. Their behaviors do not tend towards mental problems.D. Their behaviors can be found in almost all teenagers on earth.54. What does the new study find about the invisible group?A. They are almost as liable to depression as the high-risk group.B. They suffer from depression without showing any symptoms.C. They do not often demonstrate risky behaviors as their peers.D. They do not attract the media attention the high-risk group does.55. What is the significance of Vladimir Carli's study?A. It offers a new treatment for psychological problems among teenagers.B. It provides new early-warning signals for identifying teens in trouble.C. It may have found an ideal way to handle teenagers with behavioral problems.D. It sheds new light on how unhealthy behaviors trigger mental health problems.Part ⅣTranslation (30 minutes)Directions: For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to translate a passage from Chinese intoEnglish. 2020下半年英语六级口语模拟试题:英法战争

2020 下半年英语六级口语模拟试题:英法战争2020 下半年英语六级口语模拟试题:英法战争The war between Britain and FranceIn the late eighteenth century, battles raged in almost every corner of Europe, as well as in the Middle East, south Africa ,the West Indies, and Latin America. In reality, however, there was only one major war during this time, the war between Britain and France. All other battles were ancillary to this larger conflict, and were often at least partially related to its antagonist ' goals and strategies.France sought total domination of Europe . this goal was obstructed by British independence and Britain ' s efforts throughout the continent to thwart Napoleon; through treaties. Britain built coalitions (not dissimilar in concept to today 's NATO) guaranteeing British participation in all major European conflicts. These two antagonists were poorly matched, insofar as they had very unequal strengths; France was predominant on land, Britain at sea. The French knew that, short of defeating the British navy, their only hope of victory was to close all the ports of Europe to British ships. Accordingly, France set out to overcome Britain by extending its military domination fromMoscow t Lisbon, from Jutland to Calabria. All of this entailed tremendous risk, because France did not have the military resources to control this much territory and still protect itself and maintain order at home.French strategists calculated that a navy of 150 ships would provide the force necessary to defeat the British navy.Such a force would give France a three-to-two advantage over Britain. This advantage was deemed necessary because of Britain 's superior sea skills and technology because of Britain 's superior sea skills and technology, and also because Britain would be fighting a defensive war, allowing it to win with fewer forces. Napoleon never lost substantial impediment to his control of Europe. As his force neared that goal, Napoleon grew increasingly impatient and began planning an immediate attack.。

The popularization of online video sharing Following the rapid development of social media apps, people no longer need to meet friends face to face and share their feelings and experience to each other. Instead, we use our cellphone apps to make, edit and release videos online, which are recordings of some valuable memories of our lives. A number of factors might contribute to this prevalent phenomenon. One of the most common is that online video sharing makes it more convenient to communicate and interact with friends, especially those who live quite far away from each other. By watching vivid videos, we can know better about our friends' lives, feel closer with them, as if we are having fun together. Besides that, sharing video online is a good way to make new friends. As for me, I like watching videos posed by different people because it enables me to get to know people from various background without any limits imposed by space or time. Therefore, sharing videos is a way to bring people closer together, and an irresistible trend that almost no one can reject.2.翻译的重要性The Importance of TranslationTranslation is a cross-language and cross-culture communicative activity. In translation practice, translators should be faithful to the original text, and deal with target language with flexibility, instead of sticking to the original structure. As Eugene Nida said, “Translating consists in reproducing in the receptor language the closest natural equivalent of the source language message, first in terms of meaning, and secondly in terms of style.”Translation plays a key role in a increasingly interdependent world. With the globalization of the economic, there are more and more global companies, who need the translator when they communicate with their business partner, run a business in a foreign country, and so on. The translator enhance communication by conveying information accurately from one language to another in different countries across the world. To sum up, translation is not just about academic skills. It is about providing the vital linguistic and cultural link between persons and communities of different races, cultures and languages. So that we can communicate better and understand one another more effectively.3.线上医疗好还是线下医疗好?Online medical service or offline medical service, which is better?Nowadays, with the development of Internet and medical technology, it has become a reality that we can stay at home to be medically served online without going to the physical hospital. Personally, I think the online medical service is better that the traditional one for the following three main points.Firstly, as is known to us, the traditional medical service required that we should not only make an appointment in advance, but also go to the physical hospital to line up for a long time to see the doctor. What’s worse, it takes a few hours for us to get there if we are far from the hospital. Thus, the online one can be said to be better and convenient for us. We can make use of the waiting time to do a lot of meaningful things or get more sleep. Second, as the pandemic of CIVID-19 this year, some measures should be taken to reduce the probability of exposing to the infectious disease. However, if we all go to the physical hospital when we feel a little sick, we can’t guarantee the occurrence of infection since some diseases is contagious itself. Lastly, I suggest that common ailments, such as catching a cold, should be encouraged to be treated online at home, while the unusual cases should be treated in the hospital because sometimes we need to be inspected by the professional medical devices to know our physical condition.二、话题讨论1.应该鼓励在线视频分享吗?A: Hi, Joe, how is everything going?B: Not good, actually.A: What's wrong?B: This morning, I was bombard with many massages of short online videos shared by my friend s when checking my We Chat. You know, it's annoying because I'm not really interested in these videos.A: Well, sharing online videos using apps like Tic Tok is becoming a trend among people, including the elders. In fact, sometimes, people are just to share the joy they felt from the videos they think funny.B: I don't agree, everyone has the choice to refuse the spreading of disturbing messages, hasn't they? Online videos should not be shared freely by smart phones. A: Of course. I agree on this point. But Let's talk from another angle. Nowadays since the paper news is gradually replaced by the electric one, online video sharing becomes one of the instant way that can help us learn the major events happened in many countries.B: Sure, it does help. Every coin has two sides. What we need to do is to master the degree when using it. Don't be too indulged in it.A: Yes, you are right. We should encourage the sharing of online video on the condition of considering and respecting others' will.2.机器翻译能否替代人工翻译Candidate A: With the development of science and technology, machine translation plays a more and more important role in the field of translation. As a result, some translators are wondering whether translators will lose their jobs in the near future with the rapid development of machine translation. What do you think about that? Candidate B: Well, the rapid development of machine translation indicates that there is soil for its survival in the field of translation. What's more, it has a bigger advantage than human translation in some aspects.Candidate A: Does machine translation seem so powerful that it is applicable to all fields? In my opinion, machine translation also has its obvious disadvantages. Candidate B: Yes, some kinds of texts are not suitable for machine translation. For example, as for foreign film, the translators should not only be in line with the original text, but also take into account the characteristics of the film. But machine translation does not guarantee this.Candidate A: I agree with your idea. While machine translation is convenient, there are some disadvantages in it. For example, in literary works, authors often use writing techniques such as rhyme, pun, and voice-over to enhance their works. For machine translation, there is no way to restore it completely.Candidate B: Yeah, therefore, machine translation cannot completely replace human translation, so the existence of translators is very necessary.Candidate A: So, translators should strive to improve their own qualities in order to ensure the quality of translation.Candidate B: Yeah. With machine translation developing so well, translators should improve their competitiveness.3.线上医疗好还是线下医疗好?A: Hi, Tiffany, What’s wrong with you? You looks so tired.B: Oh, yesterday I caught a cold suddenly and went to the Renmin Hospital. However, I failed to make an appointment with Dr. Smith after lining up for a long time. I waited for a long time, you know, just to be told the attendance is full. It’s too annoying.A: Really? It’s too bad. But why do you try to make an appointment online?B: I never tried. Does this approach have a greater chance of success?A: Sure, I have used it for a few times. It is convenient and can save a lot of time, especially when we are far from the hospital.B: It sounds great. But I think there is one shortcoming with the online form. Online medical service is just limited to common ailments, such as catching a cold, which canbe treated online at home, while the unusual cases need to be treated in the hospital because sometimes we still need to be inspected by the professional medical devices to know our physical condition.A: Yes, it is not perfect until now. Although it has some limitations and can’t replace the offline one totally, it still shows its great advantage when we confronted with thepandemic of COVID-19, isn’t it? If you go to the physical hospital, you can’t guarantee the occurrence of exposing to the viruses and other contagious diseases. Seeing a doctor online at home can help reduce the likelihood of outbreak of epidemic.B: Well, from this perspective, online medical service is indeed better than the offline one.4.机考是否将替代纸质考试Candidate A: Due to the epidemic this year, many paper tests have been converted to computer-based ones. Do you have any ideas about it?Candidate B: Yeah. I have just taken a computer-based test last month. I think it is very convenient and efficient. I just need to open my computer and do the test. Candidate A: Well, of course computer-based test can reduce many processes, but does it guarantee fairness and equality of the test?Candidate B: As far as I am concerned, computer-based test can’t fully guarantee the fairness of the examination. For example, the rural network is worse than the urban network, which is very unfair to the rural candidates.Candidate A: Yeah, I agree with your idea. In addition, it’s not very safe. If the computer crashes or the Internet is disconnected, the exam will not go smoothly. Candidate B: What’s more, popularizing the computer-based test is not simple. It requires sufficient funding and technical support.Candidate A: So, In the future of artificial intelligence, computer-based tests may replace paper-based tests, but they will never replace the reliability paper test brought. Candidate B: Well, I hoped that the computer-based test can not only provide convenience for exams, but also improve its security and stability.5.保护网上个人信息的重要性People now are living in an era of technology. With the rapid development of the Internet, we can get information in a much faster way than ever before. The Internet allows for an unbelievably large amount of downloads and uploads of information for individual users. However, it also brings about the hazard of personal information leakage, and it is vital to raise people’s awareness of this serious problem. Firstly, if the personal information gets revealed, it might be obtained and utilized by some people who intend to engage in illegal activities, such as fraud, forgery, even kidnapping. It will cause immeasurable losses to the victims, and everyone’s safety cannot beguaranteed under this circumstance. Besides, if some business giants possess a considerable amount of personal information, they might become dominant in a industry to an extent that monopoly might be formed, which obviously has a negative impact on the whole market, even the economy. Thus, personal information protection is an alarmingly significant issue that cannot be ignored.6.怎样保护网上个人信息?A: Hi, Lucy, Have you heard the news that Lisa, one of Jack’s best friends, was defrauded of ¥30,000?B: Wow, What happened?A: It is said that her money was gone with a few seconds just after she clicked on an unfamiliar web link at the guidance of a sales call.B: Oh, that’s too bad. It’s totally a wire fraud, isn’t it?A: Yes, indeed. Being in a digital era, you know, every time we click on a web link, we are always asked to enter some personal information, which is closely tied to our banking or paying accounts. That is to say, it’s easy to disclose our personal information to some so-called hackers who possibly do some criminal things.B: You’re right. But how to prevent the occurrence of such bad event?A: Well, I have concluded a few methods to to protect our personal information from being stolen online.B: Really, I’m ready to know.A: First, develop a good habit of surfing the Internet, don’t click the unknown website or web link freely. Second, encrypt some financial apps in our smartphone or computers. Third, kill viruses of our digital devices regularly and update virus reservoir instantly.B: Good idea, I will do as you suggest.7.人工智能会不会让很多人失业Candidate A: In recent years, artificial intelligence(AI) has made rapid advances, which has raised some concerns. One of them is whether AI will lead to mass unemployment. Then what do you think of it?Candidate B: Of course, artificial intelligence will put some people out of work. For example, the telegraph operator lost his job when the telephone appeared. Candidate A: Many people are afraid of losing their jobs because they only work hard and don’t think.Candidate B: Yes, you are right. Though AI makes some people lose their job, it also gives opportunities to other people who are good at thinking.Candidate A: Well, I agree with your idea. Sedan chairs and carriages disappeared with the advent of car, as did the carter, but the demand for car drivers increased significantly.Candidate B: Yeah. Compared with carters, car drivers are better at thinking. Candidate A: The development of AI technology not only brings about unemployment, it also brings about more job opportunities.Candidate B: So this reminds us to strive to improve our own quality, and warns us to be a person who is good at thinking.8.孤独的害处Despite the convenience that science and technology has brought into life, people nowadays tend to feel more lonely than in the past. And loneliness can cause a number of damages to both physical and mental health. According to a medical research, people who often feel lonely tend to have a weaker immune system, thus they have a much higher level of blood pressure than average, and are more likely to get chronic diseases like brain damage, heart disease, even cancer. Researchers believe that loneliness can cause changes in hormone levels, which is responsible for these physical illnesses that lonely people suffer. Not only that, loneliness can result in many significant damages to people’s mental health as well. For example, people who often feel lonely might find themselves difficult to concentrate and think deeply. Without self-adjusting, they might lose interests toward their job, friends and things which they used to love, and are in danger of falling into depression eventually. Considering the damaging effects loneliness can bring about to people’s lives, it is necessary for us to avoid this harmful emotion, and help whoever is experiencing it.9.要不要向校园里停的车收费Candidate A: Nowadays, there are a lot of such phenomena on campus: a lot of private cars parked on the roads, which brings great inconvenience to students and teachers. Then what do you think of it? Do you think they should be charged?Candidate B: Well, when I walked out of the dorm today, there was a car parked in front of the door, which made it difficult for students to get in and out.Candidate A: Oh, the owner of the car is so incompetent, how can he park his car there?Candidate B: So I don’t think people can leave their cars random on campus, instead, they should park them in a fixed parking space.Candidate A: Yeah, I agree with you. So it is necessary to charge car owners for disorderly parking.Candidate B: You mean that if the owner parks his car in a fixed parking space, and it will not affect the traffic, so there will be no charge?Candidate A: Yes. This would encourage owners to put their cars in the right places and penalize those who leave them in the wrong places.Candidate B: Well, it sounds great! I believe that if our university does this, both students and teachers will get great convenience, thus reducing a lot of unnecessary troubles.10.医疗服务的变化Changes in medical serviceIn the past few years, with the development of Internet and digital technology, many industries have greatly facilitated people’s daily life by setting up online stores or WeChat mini-programs. Medical service is no exception. Nowadays, it is gradually becoming a reality that we can stay at home to be medically served online without going to the physical hospital. Specifically, I think the changes in medical service are reflected in the following three points.Firstly, the perfection of medical system as well as its combination with the smart devices allows people to make an appointment in advance by using a portable phone or a mini-program inserted in the WeChat app anywhere. And it is also easy to cancel or change the time. Secondly, the pandemic of COVID-19 at the beginning of this year further promote the popularization of using online medical service instead of the offline one, because the former is an effective way to reduce the probability of exposing to the infectious disease. Lastly, medicine is a matter of people’s livelihood, to speed up the implementation of the online medical service is encouraged by the government, whose aims is to help people solve the problem of difficulty in medical treatment. In addition, the cost of adopting the online medical service is certainly fewer than the traditional offline one.All in all, in the next few years, the forms of medical service will continue to be changed and diversified and the combination form of online and offline is ideally predictable.11.校园停放车辆A: Do you ever feel lonely? I do feel lonely sometimes. It’s not a good feeling.B: Yes, I know the feeling. Sometimes, even if not alone, I will often feel lonely, but I project my appearance was all okay. Perhaps, because of in the face of unknown future, a sense of helplessness and confusion always come to me.A: In today’s busy world, many people suffer from loneliness. I’m hoping that I can share some positive advises that has helped me, and may just help you too. My proposal is to participate in various interest groups, such as dancing, writing, singing, sports etc. Through talking and communicating to other members, we all gain by the interchange of ideas, the swapping of experiences and the discussion of future hopes and aspirations.B: I agree. We also need to give a vent to our feeling. Speak as much as possible to people who are empathetic. You may surprisingly find that there are indeed different situations that we all have to deal with, however, we all share a common human experience. We all feel the emotions of love, loneliness, fear, loss, and joy.A: Yes that’s definitely true.B: When you start to understand that other people have the same feeling with you, you can start to feel a lot closer to the outside. This is the way to begin to mend feelings of isolation and loneliness.A: Yes, in this way we can regain more confidence and it could be easier for us to overcome any difficulties.B: Anyway, to keep a positive attitude is the most important way.A: I suddenly think of it, may be having a pet to care for is helpful to overcome lonely too. There are many benefits to owning a very loyal and loving pet such as a puppy or a cat.B: Good idea.12.克服孤单A: Do you ever feel lonely? I do feel lonely sometimes. 2020年11月英语四级口语考试真题及参考答案

2020年11月英语四级口语考试真题及参考答案

2020年11月英语四级口语考试真题及参考答案1. Are you satisfied with your present accommodations? Give your reasons. What kind of accommodations would you like to have? From my point view, I’m quite satisfied with our accommodation. My dormitory room faces south and has a lot of sunshine in fine weather. It also has a very good view of the garden in front of the building and the mountains in the distance. It makes me feel good when I look the lovely grass, flowers and trees in the garden. The color of the mountains changes with different seasons and in different weather. I really enjoy watching the view from my room. But there are some aspects need to be improved. Above all, our dormitory is not big enough. When everybody is in the room, there simply is not enough space for us to move around. And with six people in it, there isn’t much privacy for anyone. We even don’t have a washroom in it .So it’s not convenient for us, especially in winter and summer. And the water and electricity supply are usually cut off for some unclear reasons. Everyday we have to go to bed before halfpast ten. That’ too early! S o we are restricted to do what we need to do after ten thirty. In a word, our canteens are quite good. First of all, the food is quite cheap and the services meet most of our needs. But some canteens are sosmall that have to wait in line to get our food.In my opinion, a good student apartment should have a relatively large living room and three or four small single bedrooms. This design will provide enough space for meetings and gatherings while at the same time give each student hisor her own room. It should have a washroom and we should have water and electricity supply all day long. And we also canget our food without waiting in line.In my university, students have different types of accommodation depending on their status. Undergraduate students generally share dormitory rooms six to a room, and master’s stu dents four to a room. New apartment houses are also available to students who pay an additional rent.2. What job do you think is the best for you after you graduate?I think the best job for me is to be a teacher after graduation. When I was a child, I had dreamed to be a high school teacher. Now I can come to Xinyang Normal Universityto receive further education and I major in Study of History. It looks like that my dream will come true in the near future. As a teacher, I can give what I have learnt to my students, who will make contributions to our society.Thinking about it, I will be very proud of being a teacher. And, what’s more, I can become an actor just on the small platform in the front of the classroom, which will make mylife much colorful. And then, what mostly makes me choose to be a teacher is that I can share some new ideas with the young people, and by this way I will be young forever in my mind.3. What is your most important consideration when looking for a job?Actually, many factors contribute to job satisfaction, such as a high salary, good promotion prospects, pleasant and friendly working atmosphere, suitability for one’s professional talents, and personal interests etc. For many people, money or good promotion prospects may be their most important consideration when looking a job; but as for me, what is important is to do something that I enjoy. I hear stories all the time about people who change their jobs because they realize that they don’t like them after they have starte d. If you don’t like what you’re doing, you are going to be miserable. You cann’t make the best use of your talents and you will get nowhere in your work. So when choosing a job, I think, we’d better make sure that we know where our interest lies, only by doing so, can we do very well in our work and enjoy our work most.。

It highlights the critical role that team spirit plays in completing a task. In my view, team spirit and communication are especially important in the workplace.First of all, with the increasingly fierce competition between enterprises, in order to achieve the desired results, cooperation and communication among colleagues are particularly important because they can maximize work efficiency. Secondly, promoting team spirit and communication at work can ensure that everyone understand where the company is going and get them all actively involved in the development of the company. Thirdly, cooperation and communication at work can enhance the interaction between coworkers and form good interpersonal relationships, which is essential to build a friendly, cooperative, and harmonious working atmosphere in the enterprise culture. To conclude, we cannot deny that it is almost always the joint efforts of a whole team that decide the success or failure of a project. Reading the earnings announcements of large retail stores like Macy's, Nordstorm, and Target is about as uplifting as a tour of an intensive care unit. The internet is apparently taking down yet another industry. Brick and mortar stores (实体店) seem to be going the way of the yellow pages. Sure enough, the Census Bureau just released data showing that online retail sales surged 15.2 percent between the first quarter of 2015 and the first quarter of 2016.B) But before you dump all of your retail stocks, there are more facts you should consider. Looking only at that 15.2 percent "surge" would be misleading. It was an increase that was on a small base of 6.9 percent. Even when a tiny number grows by a large percentage terms, it is often still tiny.C) More than 20 years after the internet was opened to commerce, the Census Bureau tells us that brick and mortar sales accounted for 92.3 percent of retail sales in the first quarter of 2016. Their data show that only 0.8 percent of retail sales shifted from offline to online between the beginning of 2015 and 2016.D) So, despite all the talk about drone (无人机) deliveries to your doorstep, all the retail executives expressing anxiety over consumers going online, and even a Presidential candidate exclaiming that Amazon has a "huge antitrust problem," the Census data suggest that physical retail is thriving. Of course, the closed stores, depressed executives, and sinking stocks suggest otherwise. What's the real story?E) Many firms operating brick and mortar stores are in trouble. The retail industry is getting "reinvented," as we describe in our new book Matchmarkers. It's standing in the path of what Schumpeter called a gale (大风) of creative destruction. That storm has been brewing for some time, and as it has reached gale force, most large retailers are searching for a response. As theCFO of Macy's put it recently, "We're frankly scratching our heads."F) But it's not happening as experts predicted. In the peak of the dot. com bubble, brick and mortar retail was one of these industries the internet was going to kill—and quickly. The dot. com bust discredited most predictions of that sort and in the years that followed, conventional retailers' confidence in the future increased as Census continued do report weak online sales. And then the gale hit.G) It is becoming increasingly clear that retail reinvention isn't a simple battle to the death between bricks and clicks. It is about devising retail models that work for people who are making increasing use of a growing array of internet-connected tools to change how they search, shop, and buy. Creative retailers are using the new technologies to innovate just about everything stores do from managing inventory, to marketing, to getting paid.H) More than drones dropping a new supply of underwear on your doorstep, Apple's massivelysuccessful brick-and-mortar-and-glass retail stores and Amazon's small steps in the same direction are what should keep old-fashioned retailers awake at night. Not to mention the large number of creative new retailers, like Bonobos, that are blending online and offline experiences in creative ways.I) Retail reinvention is not a simple process, and it's also not happening on what used to be called "Internet Time." Some internet-driven changes have happened quickly, of course. Craigslist quickly overtook newspaper classified ads and turned newspaper economics upside down. But many widely anticipated changes weren't quick, and some haven't really started. With the benefit of hindsight (后见之明), it looks like the internet will transform the economy at something like the pace of other great inventions like electricity. B2B commerce, for example, didn't move mainly online by 2005 as many had predicted in 2000, nor even by 2016, but that doesn't mean it won't do so over the next few decades.J) But the gale is still blowing. The sudden decline in foot traffic in recent years, even though it hasn't beenaccompanied by a massive decline in physical sales, is a critical warning. People can shop more efficiently online and therefore don't need to go to as many stores to find what they want. There's a surplus of physical shopping space for the crowds, which is one reason why stores are downsizing and closing.K) The rise of the mobile phone has recently added a new level of complexity to the process of retail reinvention. Even five years ago most people faced a choice. Sit at your computer, probably at home or at the office, search and browse, and buy. Or head out to the mall, or Main Street, look and shop, and buy. Now, just about everyone has a smartphone, connected to the internet almost everywhere almost all the time. Even when a retailer gets a customer to walk in the store, she can easily see if there's a better deal online or at another store nearby.L) So far, the main thing many large retailers have done in response to all this is to open online stores, so people will come to them directly rather than to Amazon and its smaller online rivals. Many are having the same problem that newspapers have had. Even if they getonline traffic, they struggle to make enough money online to compensate for what they are losing offline. M) A few seem to be making this work. Among large traditional retailers, Walmart recently reported the best results, leading its stock price to surge, while Macy's, Target, and Nordstorm's dropped. Yet Walmart'syear-over-year online sales only grew 7 percent, leading its CEO to lament (哀叹), "Growth here is to slow." Part of the problem is that almost two decades after Amazon field the one-click patent, the online retail shopping and buying experience is filled with frictions. A recent study graded more than 600 internet retailers on how easy it was for consumers to shop, buy, and pay. Almost half of the sites didn't get a passing grade and only 18 percent got an A or B.N) The turmoil on the ground in physical retail is hard to square with the Census data. Unfortunately, part of the explanation is that the Census retail data are unreliable. Our deep look into those data and their preparation revealed serious problems. It seems likely that Census simply misclassifies a large chunk of online sales. It is certain that the Census procedures, which lump theonline sales of major traditional retailers like Walmart with "non-store retailers" like food trucks, can mask major changes in individual retail categories. The bureau could easily present their data in more useful ways, but they have chosen not to.O) Despite the turmoil, brick and mortar won't disappear any time soon. The big questions are which, if any, of the large traditional retailers will still be on the scene in a decade or two because they have successfully reinvented themselves, which new players will operate busy stores on Main Streets and maybe even in shopping malls, and how the shopping and buying experience will have changed in each retail category. Investors shouldn't write off brick and mortar. Whether they should bet on the traditional players who run those stores now is another matter.36. Although online retailing has existed for some twenty years, nearly half of the internet retailers still fail to receive satisfactory feedback from consumers, according to a recent survey.M37. Innovative retailers integrate internet technologies with conventional retailing to create new retailmodels.G38. Despite what the Census data suggest, the value of physical retail's stocks has been dropping.D39. Internet-driven changes in the retail industry didn't take place as quickly as widely anticipated.I40. Statistics indicate that brick and mortar sales still made up the lion's share of the retail business.C41. Companies that successfully combine online and offline business models may prove to be a big concern for traditional retailers.H42. Brick and mortar retailers' faith in their business was strengthened when the dot. com bubble burst.F 43. Despite the tremendous challenges from online retailing, traditional retailing will be here to stay for quite some time.O44. With the rise of online commerce, physical retail stores are like to suffer the same fate as the yellow pages.A45. The wide use of smartphone has made it more complex for traditional retailers to reinvent their business.KSection CDirections: There are 2 passages in this section. Each passage is followed by some questions or unfinished statements. For each of them there are four choices marked A), B), C) and D). You should decide on the best choice and mark the corresponding letter on Answer Sheet 2 with a single line through the centre. Passage OneQuestions 46 to 50 are based on the following passage.Professor Stephen Hawking has warned that the creation of powerful artificial intelligence (AI) will be "either the best, or the worst thing, ever to happen to humanity", and praised the creation of an academic institute dedicated to researching the future of intelligence as "crucial to the future of our civilisation and our species".Hawking was speaking at the opening of the Leverhulme Centre for the Future of Inteelgence (LCFI) at Cambridge University, a multi-disciplinary institute that will attempt to tackle some of the open-ended questions raised by the rapid pace of development in AIresearch. "We spend a great deal of time studying history," Hawking said, "which, let's face it, is mostly the history of stupidity. So it's a welcome change that people are studying instead the future of intelligence." While the world-renowned physicist has often been cautious about AI, rising concerns that humanity could be the architect of its own destruction if it creates a super-intelligence with a will of its own, he was also quick to highlight the positives that AI research can bring. "The potential benefits of creating intelligence are huge," he said. "We cannot predict what we might achieve when our own minds are amplified by AI. Perhaps with the tools of this new technological revolution, we will be able to undo some of the damage done to the natural world by the last one—industrialisation. And surely we will aim to finally eradicate disease and poverty. And every aspect of our lives will be transformed. In short, success in creating AI could be the biggest event in the history of our civilisation."Huw Price, the centre's academic director and the Bertrand Russell professor of philosophy at CambridgeUniversity, where Hawking is also an academic, said that the centre came about partially as a result of the university's Centre for Existential Risk. That institute examined a wider range of potential problems for humanity, while the LCFI has a narrow focus.AI pioneer Margaret Boden, professor of cognitive science at the University of Sussex, praised the progress of such discussions. As recently as 2009, she said, the topic wasn't taken seriously, even among AI researchers. "AI is hugely exciting," she said, "but it has limitations, which present grave dangers given uncritical use."The academic community is not alone in warning about the potential dangers of AI as well as the potential benefits. A number of pioneers from the technology industry, most famously the entrepreneur Elon Musk, have also expressed their concerns about the damage that a super-intelligent AI could do to humanity.46. What did Stephen Hawking think of artificial intelligence?A) It would be vital to the progress of human civilisation.B) It might be a blessing or a disaster in the making.C) It might present challenges as well as opportunities.D) It would be a significant expansion of human intelligence.47. What did Hawking say about the creation of the LCFI?A) It would accelerate the progress of AI research.B) It would mark a step forward in the AI industry.C) It was extremely important to the destiny命运of humankind.D) It was an achievement of multi-disciplinary collaboration.48. What did Hawking say was a welcome change in AI research?A) The shift of research focus from the past to the future.B) The shift of research from theory to implementation.C) The greater emphasis on the negative impact of AI.D) The increasing awareness of mankind's past stupidity.49. What concerns did Hawking raise about AI?A) It may exceed human intelligence sooner or later.B) It may ultimately over-amplify the human mind.C) Super-intelligence may cause its own destruction.D) Super-intelligence may eventually ruin mankind.50. What do we learn about some entrepreneurs企业家from the technology industry?A) They are much influenced by the academic community.B) They are most likely to benefit from AI development.C) They share the same concerns about AI as academics.D) They believe they can keep AI under human control. Passage TwoQuestions 51 to 55 are based on the following passage. The market for products designed specifically for older adults could reach $30 billion by next year, and startups (初创公司) want in on the action. What they sometimes lack is feedback from the people who they hope will use their products. So Brookdale, the country's largest owner of retirement communities, has been inviting a few select entrepreneurs just to move in for a few days, show off their products and hear what the residents have to say. That's what brought Dayle Rodriguez, 28, all the way from England to the dining room of Brookdale South Bay in Torrance, California. Rodriguez is the community and marketing manager for a company called Sentab. The startup's product, SentabTV, enables older adults who may not be comfortable with computers to access email, video chat and social media using just their televisions and a remote control."It's nothing new, it's nothing too complicated and it's natural because lots of people have TV remotes," says Rodriguez. But none of that is the topic of conversation in the Brookdale dining room. Instead, Rodriguez solicits residents' advice on what he should get on his cheeseburger and how he should spend the afternoon. Playing cards was on the agenda, as well as learning to play mahjong (麻将).Rodriguez says it's important that residents here don't feel like he's selling them something. "I've had morefeedback in a passive approach," he says. "Playing pool, playing cards, having dinner, having lunch," all work better "than going through a survey of question. When they get to know me and to trust me, knowing for sure I'm not selling them something—there'll be more honest feedback from them."Rodriguez is just the seventh entrepreneur to move into one of Brookdale's 1, 100 senior living communities. Other new products in the program have included a kind of full-blow dryer and specially designed clothing that allows people with disabilities to dress and undress themselves.Mary Lou Busch, 93, agree to try the Sentab system. She tells Rodriguez that it might be good for someone, but not for her."I have the computer and FaceTime, which I talk with my family on," she explains. She also has an iPad and a smartphone. "So I do pretty much everything I need to do."To be fair, if Rodriguez had wanted feedback from some more technophobic (害怕技术的) seniors, he might haveended up in the wrong Brookdale community. This one is located in the heart of Southern California's aerospace corridor. Many residents have backgrounds in engineering, business and academic circles. But Rodriguez says he's still learning something important by moving into this Brookdale community: "People are more tech-proficient than we thought." And besides, where else would he learn to play mahjong?51. What does the passage say about the startups创业?A) They never lose time in upgrading products for seniors.B) They want to have a share of the seniors' goods market.C) They invite seniors to their companies to try their products.D) They try to profit from promoting digital products to seniors.52. Some entrepreneurs have been invited to Brookdale to ______.A) have an interview with potential customersB) conduct a survey of retirement communitiesC) collect residents' feedback on their productsD) show senior residents how to use IT products53. What do we know about SentabTV?A) It is a TV program catering to the interest of the elderly.B) It is a digital TV which enjoys popularity among seniors.C) It is a TV specially designed for seniors to view programs.D) It is a communication system via TV instead of a computer.54. What does Rodriguez say is important in promoting products?A) Winning trust from prospective customers.B) Knowing the likes and dislikes of customers.C) Demonstrating their superiority on the spot.D) Responding promptly to customer feedback.55. What do we learn about the seniors in the Brookdale community?A) Most of them are interested in using the Sentab.。

2020六级英语作文真题英文回答:How AI Will Transform the World: Promises and Perils.Artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly evolving and has the potential to transform the world in many ways. It has the potential to revolutionize industries, improve healthcare, and make our lives easier. However, it also poses some risks, such as job displacement and privacy concerns. One of the most promising applications of AI is in the field of medicine. AI can be used to diagnose diseases more accurately and quickly, develop new treatments, and personalize care for individual patients. For example, AI-powered algorithms can analyze medical images to detect cancer with greater accuracy than human radiologists. AI can also be used to develop new drugs and treatments by identifying new targets for drug development and optimizingthe delivery of drugs to patients.Another area where AI has the potential to make a significant impact is in the field of transportation. AI-powered self-driving cars have the potential to make our roads safer and more efficient. Self-driving cars use a variety of sensors and algorithms to navigate the road, detect obstacles, and avoid accidents. They are also more fuel-efficient than human-driven cars, which could help to reduce our reliance on fossil fuels.AI can also be used to make our lives easier in many ways. For example, AI-powered personal assistants can help us manage our schedules, book appointments, and answer our questions. AI can also be used to power smart homes, which can automate tasks such as turning on lights, adjusting the thermostat, and locking the doors. However, there are also some risks associated with AI. One of the biggest concerns is that AI could lead to job displacement. As AI-powered machines become more sophisticated, they could replace human workers in a widerange of jobs. This could have a significant impact on the economy and lead to widespread unemployment.Another concern is that AI could be used to violate our privacy. AI-powered surveillance systems could be used to track our movements, monitor our online activity, and even predict our behavior. This could have a chilling effect on our freedom of speech and association. It is important to weigh the promises and perils of AI carefully. AI has the potential to make our world a better place, but it is also important to mitigate the risks. We need to develop policies that ensure that AI is used for good and not for evil.中文回答:人工智能将如何改变世界,机遇与风险。

2020年大学英语六级口试练习文章(13) The war between Britain and FranceIn the late eighteenth century, battles raged in almost every corner of Europe, as well as in the Middle East, south Africa ,the West Indies, and Latin America. In reality, however, there was only one major war during this time, the war between Britain and France. All other battles wereancillary to this larger conflict, and were often at least partially related to its antagonist’ goals and strategies. France sought total domination of Europe . this goal was obstructed by British independence and Britain’s efforts throughout the continent to thwart Napoleon; through treaties. Britain built coalitions (not dissimilar in concept totoday’s NATO) guaranteeing British participation in allmajor European conflicts. These two antagonists were poorly matched, insofar as they had very unequal strengths; France was predominant on land, Britain at sea. The French knew that, short of defeating the British navy, their only hope ofvictory was to close all the ports of Europe to British ships. Accordingly, France set out to overcome Britain by extendingits military domination from Moscow t Lisbon, from Jutland to Calabria. All of this entailed tremendous risk, becauseFrance did not have the military resources to control this much territory and still protect itself and maintain order at home.French strategists calculated that a navy of 150 ships would provide the force necessary to defeat the British navy. Such a force would give France a three-to-two advantage over Britain. This advantage was deemed necessary because ofBritain’s superior sea skills and technology because of Britain’s superior sea skills and technology, and also because Britain would be fighting a defensive war, allowingit to win with fewer forces. Napoleon never lost substantial impediment to his control of Europe. As his force neared that goal, Napoleon grew increasingly impatient and began planning an immediate attack.。

以下展示一篇以"The importance of preventing infectious diseases "为题的范文,供考生参考。

In recent years, the global epidemic situation of infectious diseases is very serious. Although the incidence of many infectious diseases has decreased significantly, infectious diseases are still the main threat to human health in the world. This year's covid-19 pandemic, for example, killed thousands of people. I have to say that prevention and control of infectious diseases are very important. First, with globalization, the world is now a village. If there is an infectious disease, it will spread to every corner of the world very quickly. Secondly, infectious diseases are highly contagious and spread quickly, posing a serious threat to people's health and life safety. Finally, infectious diseases, once widespread, can overwhelm health systems and affect other basic systems. If not prevented, it will have a serious impact on the stability of the whole society. So we need to prevent and control infectious diseases and reduce their impact on people's health and society.2. 环境变化As an increasing number of natural resources have been overused, climate change becomes a heatedly debated issue around the world. Nowonder there are several consequences resulting from this phenomenon. One of the influences is millions of people suffer the heavy floods and droughts, as well as the deforestation and desertification. Well, making a living becomes tough in this situation, especially for those living on agriculture. Another impact is that transportation may come to a standstill, because bad weathers definitely cause flight delay and traffic jams.Measures should be taken immediately. Firstly, it is advisable that the authority enact related rules to limit the needless consumption and illegal acts. In addition, each one should enhance the environmental awareness and within our power do something beneficial. For example, we can carry around a canvas bag each time to replace plastic ones, eliminating white pollution. Only when all unit as one can we prevent the whole world from worse situation.3. 社区活动的重要性As the pace of urbanization speeds up, a host of large communities have been formed, especially in metropolis. Therefore, organizing appropriate community activities becomes particularly vital. For one thing, given that we are occupied with work and rarely go out, the activities can provide us opportunities to chat or interact with neighbors and reduce unnecessary conflicts. For instance, community staff can hold parents-child campaigns, in which children make new friends and parents share their experience about raising a child. For another thing, community activities affect positively in various aspects, which not only enrich our daily life, but provide physical and mental benefits. Communities, coupled with hospitals, offer door-to-door service such as physical examination to the elderly, thus guaranteeing their healthcondition. All in all, contemporary society should concentrate on community activities, which aim to bring benefits to residents.4. 存钱的重要性In terms of current depressed economic situation and potential risk, saving certain money seems to be agreed widely. The primary reason is to avoid short-term financial burden. When laid off or suffering from accidents and sickness, citizens have to take out sufficient money in order to go through the storm. On this condition, the money saved in advance matters a lot. Besides, after retiring, the elderly need abundant material resources to support themselves, so accumulating almost half of their salary from adulthood plays a significant role. Generally speaking, it is necessary to make budgets at the start of a month, which ensures that they can not only live a better life, but collect plenty of money. All in all, having a plan and following the schedule can do nothing but help you out in the long run.5. 对整容的看法What do you think of plastic surgery?Nowadays, more and more people tend to have a plastic surgery. People want to become more beautiful and attractive and keep their youth for a longer time. However, while people keen on improving their appearance, they are more likely to neglect the potential dangers behind plastic surgery. For one thing, driven by the money, some hospitals and doctors make exaggerating advertisements to attract people's attention, even cheat them. The fact is that they do not have those high technologies. We can not imagine how dangerous to the patients if their doctors arenot professional enough. Besides, there are many people whose body are sensitive and are under the great risks of infections and complications, even death. For another, the sufferers have to bear the curious looks from their friends and acquaintances after the operation. Sometimes, they themselves also have psychological problems for they think they are not real beauties, but artificial beauties. To sum up, in some extents, plastic surgery plays a positive role in our society , but we should never neglect those side effects I mentioned above. There are nothing wrong for one to pursue beauty, what we should do is to choose an appropriate method to achieve this goal and cherish what we have now.6. 如何与他人友好相处Getting along well with others is an essential capacity for every individual in our daily lives especially in such a competitively fierce society. To do it well, some vital factors should be taken into consideration.First and foremost, we should be honest to the people contacted with. As far as I am concerned, honesty is one of the most valuable personality in human beings. It makes us feel comfortable and sincere when we get along with others. And being honest can also make us express ourselves freely and excitedly, which renders us enthusiastic. Only when people treat each other frankly and honestly, can they build a trustworthy relationship from the bottom of heart and get along well. In addition, responsibility is another one everybody should equip with, especially when others are in trouble. The sense of responsibility and accountability strengthen the relationship between people, which can pose great security and safety to others.Above all, getting along well with each other will exert great influence on our lives and trying to embrace honesty, responsibility and kindness is of great importance forever.7. 增强中学生生活技能的重要性Promote Life Skills for Middle School StudentsEducation is about giving people the opportunity to develop their potential, their personality and their strengths. This does not merely mean learning new knowledge, but also developing abilities to make the most of life. These are called life skills-- including the inner capacities and the practical skills. We need to increase our life skills at every stage of life, especially the secondary education when students are in the stage of building their personality. For one thing, practical life skills are the kinds of manual skills the middle students need for the physical tasks they face. These are skills which are often available to middle school students leaving school. For another, in today's world all these skills are necessary, in order to face rapid change in society. They need to know how to cope with the flood of information and turn it into useful knowledge. They also need to learn how to handle changes in society and in their own lives. In conclusion, the middle school students should recognize the importance of life skills--both practical and psycho-social---as part of education which leads to the full development of human potential and to the development of society.

A: It is very late. I have to go home now.
现在很晚了,我得回家了。

B: OK, let me see you out.
好吧,那我送你出去。

A: Well, I will see myself out, thank you.
恩,请留步,谢谢。

地道表达
see sb. out
1. 解词释义
See这个动词有“看见”的意思,但是它还有其他的用法。

例如,它有“明白”的意思。

Do you see what Imean? ( 你明白我的意思吗?) 关于see的固定短语也很多,例如:see sb off表示“送别某人”。

此处see sb.out的意思是“送某人出门”,不是“看见某人出去”的意思。

这个俚语是固定用法。

当朋友想送你出门时,你想表达不让他们送你时,就能够这样说:I will see myself out, thank you. (不用送了,谢谢。

)
2. 例句拓展
e.g. Thank you for your coming. My secretary will see you out.
谢谢您的来访,我让秘书送你出去。

e.g. I am not afraid of darkness. Don't worry; I'll see myself out.
我不怕黑。

别担心,请留步。

一、个人陈述1.网络视频分享的普及The popularization of online video sharing Following the rapid development of social media apps, people no longer need to meet friends face to face and share their feelings and experience to each other.
