I'm afraid not. What is that then?W:Well, it is here in today's paper. Parents may think they are protecting children from second-hand smoke when they smoke outside their home or only when the children are not there. But now researchers are warning about what they call third-hand smoke. When you smoke dangerous matter from cigarettes get into your hair and clothing. As babies are the weakest, when you come to a baby, you pass it to the baby and increase the chances of disease in the baby.M:Is that so? In that case I have to say that I should never get close to a baby.W:That's right. Actually all smoking parents should do the same or better give it up completely.Text 9M:Hello, welcome to our program “Today City”. I'm Larry. We're going to Louisville Kentucky where our guest Michelle Ray comes from. She is proud of her middle-sized city with a small town feel and big city dreams. Now, Michelle, tell us about your city.W:Thank you, Larry. Here is my city. Louisville is my city. The first place I take visitors from out of town is to the Highlands for shopping and night life. When I have delicious Asian food I always go to the Zen Garden which provides wonderful all vegetable dishes.M:Wow, that's interesting. Many people go for healthy food now.W:You can say that again. If I want to go camping and fishing, I go to the Red River area. For complete quiet I can hide away in my house with a good book from one of our public libraries.M:That all sounds very exciting. I'm sure some of our listeners will include Louisville in their travel plan for their next holiday. Thank you, Michelle.Text 10M:We are glad to have Dr. Garfield to talk to us today about dreams. Let me start by asking the first question. Does everyone dream?W:It appears that everyone does. Mostly when people say that they never dream, what they really mean is that they don't remember their dreams or they don't think their dreams are important. The reason behind is that they might have been made fun of with a child when they first reported their dreams or it was so frightening that they just turned off dreaming completely. The other day, someone named Davis came to me and said that he used to be a great dreamer, but suddenly he stopped having dreams. I asked him what it happened. It turned out that his brother died by heart attack and he never expected that such a terrible thing would happen to a young person. Generally, when there was some frightening event and dream about it was too terrible. People prefer not to dream about it. Actually the worst thing you can do is stop dreaming. Because it means that the bad experience would be too painful to even appear in dreams. As long as you dream about it and even the dream is frightening, your mind is working on it. My personal opinion about what dreams do is that they help us deal with our problems. We see certain patterns take place in dreams. When a person is hurt deep inside, when a person is seriously ill or when a person has been really sad, if people turn off their dreams totally, it means they don't love themselves to even thinkabout it.第二部分阅读理解(共两节,满分40分)第一节(共15小题;每小题2分,满分30分)阅读下列短文,从每题所给的四个选项(A、B、C和D)中,选出最佳选项。

But no college offered him an athletic scholarship. Lin attended Harvard, known as one of America's top universities. His playing broke Ivy League basketball records. Still, no NBA team signed him to play for it.As Lin struggled to prove he could play in the professional league, a group of Asian-American filmmakers began documenting his rocky start. Teams would hire him, but then remove him from the team. Evan Jackson Leong directed the project that watched Lin's career struggle upward, but then downward again.第二部分阅读理解(共两节,满分40分)第一节(共15小题;每小题2分,满分30分)21.C细节理解题。

Language researchers say pronunciation and fluency are the biggest barriers, followed by grammar, in effective spoken English. However, most people don't regard pronunciation as a very important part of communication skills. They're more focused on vocabulary. One reason is that most people are not even aware of their mispronunciations. So it's important to first find out the words you mispronounce. You should listen to experts, by experts, I mean those who are less likely to make pronunciation mistakes. When listening to them, pay attention to words that sound strange, strange because you pronounce the same words differently. When you come across such words, check a dictionary to confirm their exact pronunciations. You can also search for difficult-to-pronounce words and names, and make a list of them. The last suggestion is to read aloud. Now you've got the correct pronunciations of the words, it's time to practice reading them every day.第一节听下面5段对话。

Nero, the emperor of Rome between 37 and 68AD liked to eat ice as a special treat between violin lessons. He ordered runners to run to the mountains, get snow and quickly ran back to thepalace. The snow was mixed with fruit juices and nuts. Around 1660, coffee shops serving ice cream were very popular in Paris. Italians owned most of the coffee shops. A man from Sicily, named Francesco, opened the first successful one. Before ice cream was sold in stores, it was madeand frozen at home. It took a lot of work to make the cream, eggs, fruit, ice and salt and then to freeze it. Nancy Johnson, an American woman who was good at machines invented the hand -turned ice -cream freezer in 1846. Five years later, Jacob Flusell opened the first ice cream business in Maryland, US. His business quickly spread to other states. Today, in the US, ice cream is not only a nice food, but a way of life.第二部分 阅读理解(共两节,满分40分)第一节第一节 (共15小题;每小题2分,满分30分)21.B 细节理解题。

The other day, I went to a park in which there was a huge bird nest, the size of a football field. The nest is as tall as a four-story building. It allows birds of all kinds to live with much more freedom than the traditional small birdcage. Within the nest, visitors can see different birds walk or fly freely everywhere without being afraid of people. There is a lake in the middle of the bird nest. Wild ducks and white swans swim on the lake, looking for food thrown down by visitors. Before I left the bird nest, I attended a bird show, in which some birds were trained to speak, some to play basketball and some to ride bikes. Of course they are toy balls and bikes, very small. I liked the show very much.参考答案:1-5 BBCAA 6-10 BABCA11-15 CBCBA 16-20 CACBA21-25 BDCAB 26-30 ADCDA31-35 CDABC 36-40 CABAB41-45 DCADC 46-50 ABBCC51-55 DBBDC 56-60 ACCBD61-65 ABDAB66.
