翼城县第二小学小学英语 英语故事儿童故事The Wise Old Lady

The Wise Old LadyA long time ago, there was a young man who wanted to be a writer. He wanted to get married and to live writing compositions, but he couldn't discover what he had to write. He couldn't come up with any good stories, and it seemed that everything was already written."The men who were born one thousand years ago are very lucky. Even the men who were born one hundred years ago are much luckier than me. Up to then, there were still good subject matters to write about. It is natural that there are no more good subject matters." The young man said complaining. He became ill because he studied so hard and thought a lot about being a writer. None of the great doctors could cure him, but there was one person who might be able to cure him - a wise old lady. The Wise Old Lady worked as a gatekeeper unbolting the gate for carriages and horses of a ranch. She also had comprehensive knowledge of many subjects. The young man decided to go and visit her.Even though there were no trees or flowers around the wise old lady's house, there was a beehive right next to the doors, a small garden where potatoes were growing, and the fence was surrounded by hawthorn. 'How dreary this is!' He thought to himself. But here were the treasures he was searching for."Write what you think. Even if they are crumbs of bread, they are still bread. I know why you came here. You want to be a writer, but you can not come up with a great story, can you?" "Yes, everything was already written as stories. Nowadays is different from the old days." The young man answered."You're right. A long time ago, people burned wise women like me at the stake, and poets were poor. But nowadays is better than any time. You justcan't see those things, because you have such narrow insight. I even doubt whether you can hear. If you have the ability to write, there are endless good subject matters. First, stop thinking about yourself, and try to understand a ray of sunlight."The young man put on the wise old lady's glasses and hearing aid, and he received and held one of the potatoes that the wise old lady gave to him from the potato patch. After a while, the potato started to talk about itself. After he heard the potato talking, the wise old lady let the young man look at the hawthorn. The hawthorn also told him a romantic story. The young man was impressed. But the wise old lady seemed to know already, and she took him to a place where there was a beehive. When the young man looked into the hive, it was full of vigor, the bees were all busy.To freshen the air of their own big factory, bees were flying in a row in every passageway, fanning their wings, working bees were carrying a lot of pollen from outside, and some were maiking honey and beeswax."Now let's go to a road and see some travelers." The wise old lady saidto the young man tapping his shoulder. "There are too many people here. It is very hard to write the stories of all of them. We'd better go back." He said to her."No, go straight into the middle of the crowd, look at them and try to understand what they say with your whole heart and soul. Then, you'll find tremendous things to write about. Oh, and give me back my glasses and hearing aid." The wise old lady told the young man."Now, I can't see or hear anything!" The young man took off the glasses and hearing aid and said. "Then, you can never be a writer." The wise old lady shook her head. "Can't I ever be a writer?" "Imagination is not something you can learn and acquire. You should live in another way instead."The young man was sad about the fact that he could never be a writer, so the wise old lady gave him some advice. "Buy a mask and frown in front of poets. Even if you are impressed by the poem, try to frown. Then, you can make money." He became the one who severely criticizes poets following the wise old lady's advice. Even though he could not be a writer, he could live being involved in the literary world.Tantalustantalus was the rich and mighty king of lydia.sonofzeus by a f airy maiden,he was GREatly favored bythe gods.he was invited to share wine and food withthem at their banquets, and he was let into theirsecrets .but ever the latter end of joy is woe .eitherbecause he had stolen wine orgave away the secrets of zeus,or because he had become so proud as to testthe gods by serving up the flesh of his son pelopstothem,he incurred the wrath of zeus and was hurleddown to the everlasting darkness of tartarus .there hewas made tostand up to his chin in a little lake, with clusters of luscious fruits hanging over andaround his head.he strove eternally to drink the ever-evading water and to clutch at the deliciousfruits which were ever t ossed out of his reach by blasts of wind.thus he was doomed to en dureendless burning thirst and bitter hunger in the world of the sha des.the whole occurrence has givenrise to the expression“tantalizing”,meaning somethng inplain view but unattainable .坦塔罗斯坦塔罗斯是罗底亚富有而又强大的国王。

The AngelWhen a good kid dies, an angel with white wings comes down from the sky. The angel embraces the kid, and flies around everywhere showing him beautiful things. She takes him to places where there are beautiful flowers and angels sing. The kid feels so happy in the angel's arms."Sweet Heart, what kind of flower do you want to plant inthe garden of Heaven?" The angel asked the kid. "Well, what do I plant?" The kid and the angel searched for good flowers for the garden of Heaven.Under the angel and the boy, there was standing a delicate and beautiful rose bush. But a naughty boy was torturing the rose bush. "Angel, Let's plant the rose bush over there in the garden."The angel kissed the good kid's head. "Yes, you are right. Let's bring the bush and plant it in the garden." The angel held the rose bush and the kid in her arms and tried to go back to the garden of heaven. On the ground were piles of garbage and dust. Broken pieces of plates, an abandoned flowerpot and rootless wild flowers were all over the ground. The kid said, "Angel, let's take the wild flowers, too." The good kid embraced the wild flowers in his arms. Then, the angel talked to him sadly, "A little boy who is very sick is living in the basement. He has been staying in his bed because of his sickness, since he was a little baby. He can not see any sunlight and has to stay in his room.""Angel, let's meet the boy before we go back to Heaven." The baby asked her. "What's wrong?" "You'll see."The angel went to the small basement room with the kid, rose bush and the wild flower. The sick boy kept coughing in the dark room alone. "Ah! I wish I could walk and run outside, and I want to see the beautiful flowers too." He seemed dizzy and went back to his bed leaning on the wall."Angel, can I give him this rose bush and the wild flowers? These are the only things I have." He asked the angel. "Then, what are we going to plant inthe garden of Heaven?""There are lots of beautiful flowers in the garden. The garden will still be beautiful without this rose bush and the wild flowers." The angel was impressed by the kid's warm heart. "Ok, Let's give these flowers to him."The angel gave the sick boy bright sunlight and the cool breeze. And then she also planted the rose bush and the wild flowers. The sick boy cried for joy.The angel and the kid went back to Heaven. The angel told the story about what had happened to God. 儿童睡前故事 小天使的天堂之旅

儿童睡前故事小天使的天堂之旅Once upon a time, in a faraway land called Dreamland, there was a little angel named Lily. Lily had the important job of being a guardian angel for all the children in the world. Every night, she would visit the children in their dreams and protect them from anything that might scare them. One evening, as Lily was preparing for her nightly journey, she noticed a special, golden key lying on her fluffy cloud bed. It shimmered with enchantment and had a note attached to it. Intrigued, Lily read the note which said, "This key will unlock the magical door to the Angelic Gardens, a place of wonder and joy. Use it wisely, my dear Lily."With her curiosity piqued, Lily knew that she had to embark on this adventure. Holding the golden key tightly, she flew through the night sky, sprinkling stardust over sleepy children along the way. Finally, she reached a beautiful gate, covered in ivy and surrounded by blooming flowers. As the gate creaked open, Lily gasped in awe at the sight before her. She had entered the Angelic Gardens, a place so magnificent that it seemed to glow with pure love and happiness. The sky was painted in shades of pink and orange, casting a warm glow over the blooming meadows and crystal-clear streams.Lily's heart fluttered with excitement as she began her exploration of this enchanting paradise. She discovered a shimmering pond where golden fish swam gracefully, their scales reflecting the colors of the rainbow. Nearby, fluffy bunnies hopped playfully, chasing each other in circles.Further along, she discovered a magical tree that whispered secrets of wisdom. Its branches rustled in the breeze, as if sharing stories of courage and kindness. Lily sat beneath the tree, listening intently to its gentle wisdom, feeling inspired to spread love and joy in her guardian angel duties.Continuing her journey, Lily stumbled upon a cloud swing set amongst the fluffy clouds. With a giggle of delight, she hopped onto the swing, soaring through the sky with the wind in her hair and a smile on her face. Higher and higher she swung, feeling as though she could touch the stars themselves. In the distance, Lily noticed a sparkling castle, its towers reaching towards the heavens. Intrigued, she flew towards it, only to discover that it was a library filled with books of every shape and size. Lily eagerly picked up a book titled "The Power of Dreams" and began to read its pages, discovering the endless possibilities that lay within the dreams of children.Lost in the pages of the book, she suddenly heard a soft voice calling her name. Startled, Lily looked up to find a kind and wise old angel standing before her. He explained that the library held the dreams of all the children in the world, and it was Lily's responsibility to nurture and protect these dreams.Grateful for the guidance, Lily bid farewell to the old angel and continued her exploration of the Angelic Gardens. Everywhere she looked, she found pockets of joy and happiness, from magical gardens that bloomed no matter the season to fluffy clouds that formed into cuddly toys with a simple touch. After what felt like an eternity of wonder, Lily realized it was time to return to her duties as a guardian angel. Reluctantly, she made her way back to the golden gate, carrying the memories of her magical journey within her heart. As Lily flew back to the children's dreams, she knew that she would always cherish the time she spent in the Angelic Gardens. That night, she whispered stories of the magical place to the children, filling their dreams with love, hope, and wonder. And so, every night, as children around the world fall into a peaceful slumber, Lily embarks on her journey to the Angelic Gardens, becoming their personal storyteller, and ensuring their dreams are woven with the threads of magic and happiness. For it is in dreams that the imagination soars, and the spirit of childhood remains forever bright.。

幼儿园英文小故事Once upon a time, there was a kindergarten called "Sunshine Nursery." It was a colorful and lively place where children from different backgrounds came together to play, learn, and grow. The teachers at Sunshine Nursery were dedicated and passionate about providing the best education for their young students. One sunny morning, the children gathered in the playground, eager to start their day of fun and learning. Miss Emily, a kind and patient teacher, initiated a storytelling session. She began, "Today, we will embark on a journey to the magical world of animals. Are you ready?"Excited cheers filled the air as the children settled down on their mats, awaiting the enchanting story that awaited them. Miss Emily began her tale:"Once in the heart of the Amazon rainforest, there lived a brave little monkey named Max. Max loved to explore and discover new things. He was always curious about the world around him. One day, as Max swung from tree to tree, he heard a faint cry for help.He followed the sound and saw a baby sloth clinging helplessly to a branch. Max knew he had to do something. With his quick thinking and agile movements, he carefully climbed up the tree and reached out his little hand to the baby sloth. With a gentle tug, he freed the sloth from its predicament.Grateful, the baby sloth, named Sammy, joined Max in his adventures. Together, they explored the rainforest, meeting new animal friends along theway. They encountered a wise old owl, a playful toucan, and even a mischievous jaguar. As they journeyed deeper into the rainforest, Max and Sammy discovered a hidden waterfall. The clear blue water sparkled in the sunlight, beckoning them to dip their toes in. The friends happily splashed around, giggling and enjoying the refreshing water. One evening, as the sun began to set, Max and Sammy found themselves lost in the rainforest. Darkness fell, and the typically vibrant forest turned into a mysterious and eerie place. Max remained fearless, comforting his friend Sammy, assuring him that they would find their way back home.Suddenly, they heard a low growl. Out of the shadows emerged a majestic jaguar. Max knew that they were in its territory, but he also remembered meeting a kind and mischievous jaguar earlier. Taking a chance, Max approached the jaguar and asked for help.To their surprise, the jaguar recognized Max and agreed to guide them back to their familiar surroundings. With the jaguar's guidance and Sammy clinging to Max's back, they set off through the dense forest. Branches rustled and leaves whispered as the friends followed the jaguar, feeling safe and protected. Finally, they reached the edge of the rainforest. Max, Sammy, and the jaguar bid each other farewell, promising to meet again someday. Max and Sammy returned to their beloved home, the Amazon rainforest, with hearts full of gratitude and new stories to share with their friends."And that, my dear children," Miss Emily concluded, "is the story of Max and Sammy's adventure in the rainforest. It reminds us that no matter how small we are, we can make a big difference by helping others and being brave."The children clapped their hands, expressing their delight and enthusiasm for the story. Miss Emily was pleased to see the impact storytelling had on their young minds, sparking their imagination and fostering important values such as empathy and courage. As the day went on, the children at Sunshine Nursery continued their activities, but they also carried the spirit of Max and Sammy with them – the spirit of adventure, friendship, and kindness. And so, each day in the magical world of Sunshine Nursery became a new story waiting to be told.In conclusion, through the power of storytelling, children can explore new realms, learn valuable lessons, and develop their creativity and empathy. The story of Max and Sammy reminds us all, young and old, of the importance of helping others and the remarkable experiences that await us when we step outside our comfort zones.。

Why were some people treated better because of their skin color? She couldn’t understand why some people thought it was okay to judge others based on their appearance. She also couldn’t unde rstand why people thought they could treat her differently just because she was black and a woman. When she grew up, Maya had many different jobs, but she never forgot how much she loved to read and write. Maya decided to speak out against being treated differently and badly because of both her skin color and her gender. She became a champion of civil rights and women’s rights. One way she did this was by writing poems that challenge and teach us to be kinder. Her poems are still changing people’s lives in a positive way.Maya’s poems are about race, inspiration, and self-love. One poem she wrote is called “Human Family.” In this poem, she explains that no matter where we are from or what we look like,we have more in common with each other than we realize. In another poem, “Phenomenal Woman,” she expresses love for herself and encourages others to take pride in being a woman. What is phenomenal about you? Love yourself first and everything else will be great. When you look in the mirror or take a walk, think about what makes you an amazing person. Take pride in who you are.Did you know that Maya Angelou mastered six languages—English, French, Spanish, Italian, Arabic, and the West African language, Fanti?。

英语小故事— My Guardian Angel

英语小故事— My Guardian Angel

My Guardian AngelWe all take for granted the great gift of life. You don’t really notice how special it is until death looks you in the eyes. When I was about two years old, I had a near-death experience. I don’t really remember much about it except for what my mom told me.It was a hot summer day, and everybody had gone outside to enjoy the weather. My sister and her friend jumped into our backyard pool to cool off. I did not know how to swim yet. My mom would always watch all of us very closely, but just for a minute, she had walked over to the side of the yard to talk to my dad. She told my sister to watch out for me, but my sister was busy laughing and having fun with her friend. Before anyone knew it, I fell into the pool. No one heard me because I was so little; there was hardly a splash. What happened next was amazing. My mom says it felt as though someone tapped her on the shoulder, but when she turned around no one was there. It was then that she noticed I wasn’t in sight. She ran over to the pool, looking for me. She saw me in the pool, kicking andwaving my arms in the air, trying to keep my head above the water. She jumped in and pulled me out. Luckily I was okay. She held me in her arms and thanked God that I was all right. All of this happened within less than a minute. It shows how very precious life really is and how it can be lost in the blink of an eye.No one really knows why my mom turned around. To this day, she thinks that it was my guardian angel tapping her on the shoulder.。

英语小故事— Guardian Angel

Guardian AngelForget injuries; never forget kindness.“That new girl is staring at us again,” my best friend Sherri said.Looking across the crowded cafeteria full of sixth-graders, I saw the girl hunched over the table, sitting all alone. When she looked in our direction, I waved.“What are you doing?” Sherri cried, grabbing my arm.“How would you feel if you were the new kid?” I asked. “Besides, I’ve been watching her all week. She never eats anything.”I motioned to the girl again.Slowly she slipped from her seat. Her wrinkled jeans looked about two sizes too big. Brown, stringy hair covered most of her face. When she reached our table, she stood there staring down at her worn-out flip-flops.“Hi,” I said. “I’m Katy, and this is Sherri.”“Hi,” she said softly. “My name’s Carlotta.”“Want to eat with us?” I asked.Carlotta’s head jerked up. A small smile crept across her lips.“My mom packed two sandwiches today. She has this crazy idea that I need to gain weight,” I explained. “But I’ll never eat two. Do you want one?”“Are you sure?” she asked.I slid the second sandwich over to her. That afternoon I invited Carlotta to come home with me. In my room, she looked at my photographs, and then began admiring my earring collection. When she picked up my favorite pair of gold angel earrings, she said, “I’ve never seen anything so beautiful.”“Thanks,” I told her. “Those are my guardian angels.”After a trip to the kitchen, I came back to my room and offered her a snack.“No, thanks,” she mumbled. “I need to go.”Carlotta pushed past me toward the door.“Hey, wait!” I said, hurrying after her.“See you tomorrow,” she called as she rushed down the front walk.“I won’t be at school tomorrow,” I yelled after her. “But I’ll see you Thursday. And, if you want, I’ll br ing an extra sandwich.”“Thanks, Katy,” she said. “My mom lost her job a few weeks ago, and money is kind of tight.” She turned and ran down the sidewalk. The next morning at school, I saw Carlotta in the hallway. “Wait up!” I yelled.Carlotta whirled arou nd. “I . . . uh . . . I thought you weren’t going to be here today,” she stuttered.“I was supposed to go to the dentist, but Mom had to cancel my appointment.”“I better go,” Carlotta said, turning her back on me.“Wait,” I said again. I grabbed her arm a nd spun her around. My mouth fell open. Gold angel earrings hung from her ears. She jerked her arm away from me and raced down the hall.Anger boiled over deep inside me. How could she? I’d just tried to be her friend and this is the thanks I get?Later that afternoon, I got a phone call. When I put the phone to my ear, I heard sniffles. “Katy?” Carlotta whispered.“What do you want?” I said angrily.“I’m sorry about the earrings,” she replied, her voice cracking.“Sure you are,” I said. “I was only trying to be your friend.”“I know.”After a long silence, Carlotta said, “I have to go. I’m on a pay phone. I don’t have a way to bring your earrings back, but if your mom can bring you by, I live at Meadowlake Trailer Park, Number54.”I slammed down the phone. But later, as I thought about Carlotta in her hand-me-down clothes, carrying an empty lunch sack, I felt the anger sliding away. I knew I had a choice to make. I could either waste my energy being mad, or I could try to help. After gathering some things, I filled my mom in on what had happened and asked if she would take me to Carlotta’s.A few minutes later, we pulled down the dusty dirt road into the trailer park. When we reached number 54, I took a deep breath. It was an old, singlewide trailer with peeling paint and cardboard covering a broken window.Carlotta opened the door slowly. “I’m so sorry,” she sniffled.“It’s okay.”I saw the relief in Carlotta’s blue eyes. I held out the bags I’d filled. “I brought a few things with me,” I said. “I hope you don’t mind.”Carlotta looked into the bags filled with food, clothes, shoes and even a couple pairs of earrings. “Mind?” she said. “How can I ever thank you?”Then she grabbed me and squeezed so tightly I thought she’d never let go. “And these are for you,”she said, dropping the angel earrings into my hand. “When I saw those earrings, I thought I needed guardian angels more than you did. I just didn’t realize that I already had one . . . you!”。

德惠市实验小学小学英语 英语故事童话故事The Angel 安琪儿

The Angel 安琪儿"WHENEVER a good child dies, an angel of God comes down from heaven, takes the dead child in his arms, spreads out his great white wings, and flies with him over all the places which the child had loved during his life. Then he gathers a large handful of flowers, which he carries up to the Almighty, that they may bloom more brightly in heaven than they do on earth. And the Almighty presses the flowers to His heart, but He kisses the flower that pleases Him best, and it receives a voice, and is able to join the song of the chorus of bliss." These words were spoken by an angel of God, as he carried a dead child up to heaven, and the child listened as if in a dream. Then they passed over well-known spots, where the little one had often played, and through beautiful gardens full of lovely flowers."Which of these shall we take with us to heaven to be transplanted there?" asked the angel.Close by grew a slender, beautiful, rose-bush, but some wicked hand had broken the stem, and the half-opened rosebuds hung faded and withered on the trailing branches."Poor rose-bush!" said the child, "let us take it with us to heaven, that it may bloom above in God's garden."The angel took up the rose-bush; then he kissed the child, and the little one half opened his eyes. The angel gathered also some beautiful flowers, as well as a few humble buttercups and heart's-ease."Now we have flowers enough," said the child; but the angel only nodded, he did not fly upward to heaven. It was night, and quite still in the great town. Here they remained, and the angel hovered over a small, narrow street, in which lay a large heap of straw, ashes, and sweepings from the houses of people who had removed. There lay fragments of plates, pieces of plaster, rags, old hats, and other rubbish not pleasant to see. Amidst all this confusion, the angel pointed to the pieces of a broken flower-pot, and to a lump of earth which had fallen out of it. The earth had been kept from falling to pieces by the roots of a withered field-flower, which had been thrown amongst the rubbish."We will take this with us," said the angel, "I will tell you why as we fly along."And as they flew the angel related the history."Down in that narrow lane, in a low cellar, lived a poor sick boy; he had been afflicted from his childhood, and even in his best days he could just manage to walk up and down the room on crutches once or twice, but no more. During some days in summer, the sunbeams would lie on the floor of the cellar for abouthalf an hour. In this spot the poor sick boy would sit warming himself in the sunshine, and watching the red blood through his delicate fingers as he held them before his face. Then he would say he had been out, yet he knew nothing of the green forest in its spring verdure, till a neighbor's son brought him agreen bough from a beech-tree. This he would place over his head, and fancythat he was in the beech-wood while the sun shone, and the birds carolled gayly. One spring day the neighbor's boy brought him some field-flowers, and among them was one to which the root still adhered. This he carefully planted in a flower-pot, and placed in a window-seat near his bed. And the flower had been planted by a fortunate hand, for it grew, put forth fresh shoots, and blossomed every year. It became a splendid flower-garden to the sick boy, and his little treasure upon earth. He watered it, and cherished it, and took care it should have the benefit of every sunbeam that found its way into the cellar, from the earliest morning ray to the evening sunset. The flower entwined itself even in his dreams- for him it bloomed, for him spread its perfume. And it gladdened his eyes, and to the flower he turned, even in death, when the Lord called him. He has been one year with God. During that time the flower has stood in the window, withered and forgotten, till at length cast out among the sweepingsinto the street, on the day of the lodgers' removal. And this poor flower, withered and faded as it is, we have added to our nosegay, because it gave more real joy than the most beautiful flower in the garden of a queen.""But how do you know all this?" asked the child whom the angel was carrying to heaven."I know it," said the angel, "because I myself was the poor sick boy who walked upon crutches, and I know my own flower well."Then the child opened his eyes and looked into the glorious happy face of the angel, and at the same moment they found themselves in that heavenly home where all is happiness and joy. And God pressed the dead child to His heart, andwings were given him so that he could fly with the angel, hand in hand. Thenthe Almighty pressed all the flowers to His heart; but He kissed the withered field-flower, and it received a voice. Then it joined in the song of the angels, who surrounded the throne, some near, and others in a distant circle, but all equally happy. They all joined in the chorus of praise, both great and small,- the good, happy child, and the poor field-flower, that once lay withered and cast away on a heap of rubbish in a narrow, dark street.THE ENDActaeonwhen she was tired with hunting artemis used to takeabath in a little mountain spring.one hot summerafternoon she was playing in the cool, quiet water withhermaidens when she heard a rustle behind the bushes .she feltquite angry to find that a young hunter waspeeping admiri nglyat her naked body .her maidensgave a sharp cry and crowded arou nd thegoddess.but young actaeon had seen the huntress.actaeon loved the hunting.he had been searching thewoods every da y.on this particular afternoon he felt so tired with running about that he,byaccident, came over to the springin search of water.he was thus surprised to find artemisbathing.the angry goddess was not to be calmed.she spl ashed water in the hunter''s face.as soonas the water drops fell on actaeon,he was changed into a stag .just at that moment he heard thebarkin g of his team of fifty hunting dogs.they were coming up to him.he was suddenly seized withfear ,and presently ran away.the dogs, all driven mad by the goddess, ran after himclosely.running as fast as his legs could carry him, actaeon was soon out of breath .feelingcertain that he 1was to die ,he dropped to the ground and made no further attempt to get up.the dogs came nearer to their former masterand tore him to pleces.

"Sweet Heart, what kind of flower do you want to plant in the garden of Heaven?" The angel asked the kid. "Well, what do I plant?" The kid and the angel searched for good flowers for the garden of Heaven.
“宝贝,你想在天堂的花园里种什么花?”天使问孩子。

“嗯,种什么好呢?”于是,孩子和天使开始一起在天堂里寻找漂亮的花朵。

Under the angel and the boy, there was standing a delicate and beautiful rose bush. But a naughty boy was torturing the rose bush. "Angel, Let's plant the rose bush over there in the garden."
