fortnight n.两星期

1)In a fortnight's time I will be home. 两星期后我会在家的。

1) wonderful adj.令人惊奇的, 惊人的, 可惊叹的, 奇妙的,[口]极好的, 好极了

(2)She has a wonderful memory. 她的记忆力惊人。

(3)The weather has been wonderful! 近来天气好极了!

2)hear from v. 接到...的信

(1)How often do you hear from your sister 你多长时间接到你姐姐一次信

(4)I hear from my cousin every two weeks. 我每两星期就会收到我表哥的来信。

注意:hear from后面只能接表示人的名词或代词,不可接letter作为它的宾语。

1) The boys looked at the conjuror in silent wonder. 孩子们目瞪口呆地看着那魔术师。

习惯用语a nine day's wonder 轰动一时(便被遗忘)的事物; 昙花一现的新鲜事

Wonder—v vi., vt.(常与at, that连用)觉得奇怪,惊奇;惊奇纳闷;想知道(跟why, whether 等从句) wonder at sth 对…..感到惊奇

wonder wh-词 + to do 想知道…… wonder wh- / if + 从句想知道……

It’s no wonder + (that) 从句难怪,怪不得,不足为奇

1)They wondered at his learning. 他们对他的学识感到惊奇。

2)I wonder who he is. 我很想知道他是谁。

3)I was just wondering about that myself. 我就是觉得这件事莫名其妙。

4)He wondered why people built ugly homes, when they could have beautiful ones. 他很奇怪为什么人们本可以造出漂亮的房屋,而偏偏建造出丑陋的房子来。

5)Ted wondered why he was wanted by the police, but he went to the station yesterday. 特德不知道为什么警察局要他去,但昨天他去了。

6)I wonder why James is always late for school. 我想知道为什么詹姆斯上学总是迟到。

4. relevant--- adj.有关的; 恰当的, 贴切的, 中肯的(to),成比例的; 相应的,有重大意义[作用]的; 实质性的

relevant details 有关细节

1) This is not relevant to the present question 这和目前的问题无关的。

2) This must examine relevant document. 这个一定要查一查有关文件。

3) What past experience is relevant 这与以前的哪些经验有关

4) Stones' statement wasn't relevant to the discussion. 斯通的声明与这次的辩论无关。

refer to or be relevant to. 涉及或者与……相关。
