"I feel that my strongest asset is my ability to stick to things to get them done. I feel a real sense of accomplishment when I finish a job and it turns out just as I'd planned. I've set some high goals for myself. For example, I want to graduate with highest distinction. And even though I had a slow start in my freshman year, I made up for it by doing an honor's thesis."

I' m such a perfectionist that I won't stop until a job is well done. I cannot leave my work half-done and usually find myself thinking of possible solutions to problems while I am walking to class or in the shower. I also know I spend too much time in my study, I can't get enough leisure time."

对你来说最困难的时刻？

The most difficult moment that I’ve ever had was when I prepared for the Graduate student exam .It became so hard for me since my English. I was rather upset and almost lost my heart. My friend inspired me by saying that if I couldn’t overcome that task, how could I survive in the future academic research and make my dream come true. All of the sudden, I realized how small this task would be in the whole process of making my dream come true. If I want to make sth big, how can I give in to such a small trouble?

I realized I should make a well-organized plan to divide my goal into several little parts which are attractive and attainable. And just like that, for the first time, I thought it was not that hard and I gradually had a faith in conquering this. Day by day, the more I practiced, the more confidence I gained. I began to think that it is not the difficulty itself that fear you, but the conservative and discouraged me makes me scared. If I can change that attitude, there would be no scary at all.(At first I keep memorizing words every day, then often do special training, the English had the very big promotion )

The experience that most impressed me was the time when I was invited to give a lecture on how to memorize English words efficiently. As I entered the classroom, I was so nervous, but after some time, I became calm and gave my lecture successfully. That was the first time I gave a lesson to a large amount of people and I learned a lot and felt a sense of accomplishment.

Soochow University is the oldest one in the province. It was founded in 1900 and covers an area of over 4000 mu. The building area is two million square meters. It develops into a comprehensive university with efforts of generations, especially after the reform and opening up. The library has a storage of four million books. Various research institutes are set up including 31 research centers. There are teaching research experimental bases, for example, the material center, silk center, spin center and so on.
