Do you think it is important to learn another language and why?Sure, here are some ideas and further discussions for the follow-up questions and topics:Do you think it is important to learn about other cultures? Learning about other cultures can expand our knowledge and understanding of the world, promote cross-cultural communication and tolerance, and foster global awareness and cooperation. It can also help us develop new perspectives, ideas, and insights that canenrich and enhance our personal and professional growth. However, some people may argue that it is not necessary or relevant to their daily lives or that it may cause conflicts or undermine their cultural identity. Nevertheless, in today's globalized and interconnected world, I believe that learning about other cultures is not only important but also essential to appreciate and respect our diversities and similarities as human beings. How has technology changed the way we communicate with each other?Technology has revolutionized the way we communicate with each other, making it easier, faster, and more convenient to connect and interact across distances and cultures. It has created new forms and platforms of communication, from social media to video conferencing, that enable us to share information, express emotions, and build relationships online or offline. It has also broken barriers and stereotypes, allowed us to access new ideas and perspectives, and empowered us to create and collaborate in ways that were not possible before. However, technology has also posed some challenges, such as privacy, security, addiction, and cyberbullying, that require us to use it responsibly and critically. What are some advantages and disadvantages of social media? Social media has become a ubiquitous and influential part of our daily lives, offering various advantages and disadvantages that depend on how we use it. On the one hand, social media can provide us with many benefits, such as staying in touch with friends and family, finding new connections and opportunities, sharing information and experiences, expressing our voice and creativity, and promoting social causes and movements. On theother hand, social media can also have some drawbacks, such as wasting time and attention, creating stress and anxiety, exposing us to information overload and fake news, and contributing to online harassment and polarization. It is important to use social media wisely and with awareness of its effects and consequences.Do you think education is more important or experience in the workplace? Both education and experience are essential and complementary factors in achieving success and satisfaction in the workplace. Education can provide us with the knowledge, skills, and credentials needed to enter and advance in a certain field, as well as to think critically, learn continuously, and adapt to change. Experience can give us the opportunity to apply and refine what we have learned, as well as to develop our soft skills, such as communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and leadership. Moreover, experience can expose us to different contexts, challenges, and perspectives that can broaden our horizons and enhance our personal and professional growth. Therefore, a balance between education and experience is crucial for a fulfilling and meaningful career. How do you think climate change is affecting the world?Climate change is one of the major global challenges of our time, affecting all aspects of life and the environment in various and complex ways. It is causing changes in weather patterns, rising sea levels, melting ice caps, shrinking biodiversity, and increasing vulnerability to natural disasters and health risks. It is also exacerbating social and economic inequalities, displacing communities, and threatening the sustainability and resilience ofecosystems and societies. To address climate change, it requires a collective and concerted effort from individuals, governments, businesses, and civil society to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, adopt sustainable and resilient practices, and promote climate justice and equity. Everyone can contribute to this effort by changing their habits and behaviors, advocating for policies and actions, and supporting innovative solutions and partnerships.Do you think it is important to learn another language and why? Learning another language can open up a whole new world of opportunities and experiences, from traveling and working abroad to communicating with people from different cultures and backgrounds. It can also enhance our cognitive, social, and emotional abilities, such as memory, creativity, empathy, and cultural intelligence. Moreover, it can broaden our perspectives and horizons, deepen our understanding and appreciation of other cultures, and facilitate cross-cultural communication and cooperation. However, learning another language can be challenging and time-consuming, requiring dedication, motivation, and practice. It also involves facing linguistic and cultural barriers, making mistakes, and stepping out of our comfort zone. Nevertheless, the benefits of learning another language can outweigh the costs and effort, both personally and professionally. In addition, learning another language can also have practical advantages in today's globalized and interconnected world. Many companies and organizations are looking for employees who can speak multiple languages, especially those engaged in international trade, diplomacy, or tourism. Knowing another language can also give us a competitive advantage in the job market and increase our earning potential. Furthermore, learning another language can havepositive impacts on our personal and cultural identity, as it allows us to connect with our heritage or adopt new aspects of identity through language acquisition. On a deeper level, learning another language can also enrich our sense of humanity and build bridges of understanding and cooperation between different cultures and peoples. It can help us appreciate the diversity and beauty of human expression and thought, as well as cultivate empathy and respect for different ways of being and living in the world. As the world becomes more interconnected and interdependent, knowing another language can become a valuable tool for building mutual understanding, collaborative problem-solving, and peaceful coexistence. In conclusion, learning another language is a highly valuable and rewarding experience that can bring many benefits and open up new horizons in our personal and professional lives. While it may require effort and dedication, the rewards of gaining linguistic, cultural, and practical skills make it a worthwhile investment in our personal growth and global awareness.Learning another language has numerous benefits, both practical and personal. Firstly, it can enhance cognitive functions, such as memory, attention, and problem-solving skills. It also opens up new opportunities for travel, communication, and cultural exchange. Additionally, knowing another language can have practical advantages in today's globalized and interconnected world, especially in international trade, diplomacy, and tourism. It can also enrich our personal and cultural identity and cultivate empathy and respect for different ways of being and living in the world. Furthermore, as the world becomes more interconnected andinterdependent, knowing another language can become a valuable tool for building mutual understanding, collaborative problem-solving, and peaceful coexistence. While it requires effort and dedication, the rewards of gaining linguistic, cultural, and practical skills make it a worthwhile investment in our personal growth and global awareness. Therefore, learning another language is a highly valuable and rewarding experience that can bring numerous benefits and open up new horizons in our personal and professional lives.。

Describe a family celebration that you remember. You should say-What you were celebrating-Who was present-What happened-and why you like that celebration描述一次家庭的庆祝活动。

I would like to meet Mr Jonathan as he appears in the news for his bestseller. He is a writer and his recent book “The Amazing Riders” has become the bestseller. So, the local news agencies have made reports on him and his reputation is soaring up. Interestingly, Mr Jonathan lives in my locality but I was unaware of his intellectual skills. His bestselling book is the talk of the town and the news agencies, newspapers and magazines are after him to make stories about his book and contribution to the contemporary literature.I would like to meet Mr Jonathan for some solid reasons. The topmost issue about meeting him is to know about his writing. He writes smoothly and when the readers read the stories, it appears that the events are before them. In fact, I, as a reader of his book, has become his great fan. His narrative style is alsodifferent than the other writers. He uses a different tone to describe the events through his writings. Besides, his plots are also interesting and will make you amazed. Before publishing the book, he was not that much familiar in the locality and people knew him as a simple man. But now he has become a celebrity by dint of the news.I have so many questions for him to ask. If I get the chance to meet him, I will ask him first about his story plots and outlines. Some of his plots are highly interesting and they attract the attention of the readers. Further, I will try to get information about his narrative style.

Describe a person who is your friend Who he/she is?What he/she looks like What he/she does?Explain why you like this person。

Who this person is?

I have lots of good friends. But speaking of my best friend, I think it is...

很多人在回答这类问题的时候答案可能是这样的“ yes, i like animals/ sports/ shopping, because…”

我们考试的时候永远需要谨记的一条法则是“ the examiner doesn’t care what you say, but definitely he or she cares about how you say it”.

1. 以下是一些表达“like”的替换措辞:i am fairly / pretty keen on….

)I am really into…I am quite a big fan of…I simply adore…I am quite enthusiastic / passionate about….I actually prefer …. (做喜好对比时)I am quite fond of ….I am quite partial to….2.

Describe a person who is your friendWho he/she isWhat he/she looks likeWhat he/she doesExplain why you like this person在这个话题中,我们可以发现雅思口语的第二部分总共具有4个问题。

Who this person is?

I have lots of good friends. But speaking of my best friend, I think it is…….

In most of my holidays I go to visit my family members in my hometown. For my job, I am currently residing in the capital city of my country but my parents, siblings, grandparents, uncle and aunts are living in our hometown. So in most of my holidays I go to visit my family members. My typical holidays last for 4-5 days most of the time and sometimes I get longer holidays. When I was a university student, I had some friends studying in the same faculty who were from my hometown. During my university study we used to go to our hometown together on our vacations but now-a-days I go to my hometown mostly alone. The journey takes about 6-7 hours by bus. Sometimes we travel by train and this train journeys usually take 8-9 hours including the stoppage. Though the journey is tiresome sometimes, but the thought of meeting my family members and the e某citement of being in the place I really love wash away the tiresomeness and monotonous feeling of the journey. The time I stay with my family members and local friends, I enjoy the moments very much. This is the town where I grew up and naturally all of my childhood & adolescence memories are related to this place.I do lots of interesting things there during my holidays: I swim in the river, take care of the garden and firm we have, collect vegetables and fruits from our garden and then make arrangement to sell those to the local sellers, sometime I catch fished, play with my friends both indoor and outdoor games, visit different places and do lots of other stuffs. In my city life, I have to follow a strict timeline and stay at office most of the time, but in my hometown where I mostly go duringmy holidays, I am quite free and do whatever I feel like doing and spend time with the people I care most. That's why I prefer to go to my hometown during my holidays rather than going to other places.Tips for answering this cue card topic:Since you are free to talk about multiple activities that you usually do in your holidays, you can talk about many of them and this makes this cue card an easy one. I remember that my parents celebrated some of my birthdayparties there, our college friends arranged the get-together parties, one of mycousins’ marriage ceremony was celebrated there and similarly I attended lots ofother parties at this very restaurant. The restaurant has 3 floors and the sitting arrangement is quite nice.Paintings of famous artists have been hanging on the walls and the place isquite neat and clean. The interior decoration is charming and gorgeous feeling. The ground floor is spacious and can accommodate more than 50 cars' parking. Thefront view of the restaurant is different as the place gives the impression ofan urban garden. The restaurant offers several dishes including exotic deserts, ice-creamsand also offers a separate place for the kids to play and have fun. The pricesare reasonable and the foods are served quickly as opposed to some otherrestaurants where you will have to wait for a long for your foods to appear onyour table. But I'd like to talk about my mother whom I think isthe greatest cook of the world. I have never enjoyed any menu more than thefoods made by my mother. She is a gifted cook and she has a good reputation ofmaking delicious and tasty menu out of very ordinary ingredients. The way she arranges the kitchen and makes foods is lovely and in mychildhood I used to think that she had taken training on cooking. But sheactually learned the cooking from her family and was in charge of cooking for alarge joint family. She is a graduate and I heard that she has a passion ofcooking as she took several subjects related to house-keeping and cooking. My mother was raised in a sub-urban area and got married at her 20 years ofold. She continued her education and then took charge of cooking in my father'sfamily. I have heard the appreciation of her cooking from many of our relativesand neighbours and felt proud of her. Finding her cooking gives me a feeling that it's not a hard task, ratherit's an artistic performance that the performer enjoys a lot. Sometimes I havebeen amazed to find her making foods in no times for the guests. She mostly makes foods for the family members and that includes cookingmaking breads, rice, meats, fishes, burgers, sweet-meats, curry etc. For thefestivals she makes cake, rich foods, and snacks, local and foreign cuisines. Ihave found her cooking Chinese, Thai, Italian and Mexican foods as well and thatwas always a wonder how she has learned those menus as she has never travelledto those countries nor has taken any training on making those foods. It willalways be a mystery to me.。

Describe a foreign movie that you have watched. Describe a film you enjoyed. You should say:what the film iswhen and where you watchedwhat it is aboutand explain why you enjoyed it.I’m not a regular cinema-goer, I prefer the comfort and convenience of watching movies in my own home, where I can download them and view them on my TV. However, occasionally there is a film that I feel I must watch on the big screen, the most recent of which was Transformers 4: Age of Extinction. It’s the newest film in the Transformers franchise, which is based on old toys that were made in the ‘80s. They tell the story of massive robots that can transform into different machines, like tanks or fire trucks, and fight battles on Earth. In this instalment, evil robots that look like dinosaurs, called Dinobots, battle it out against the good robots, called Autobots. The film was released in the summer of 2014, the time of the year when a lot of big blockbusters are brought out because it’s the school holidays, so they can make more money. I chose to watch the film in a 3D IMAX cinema. Nothing beats the experience of seeing a big budget movie on a huge screen, with the characters popping out at you. The sound system at the cinema is also amazing, with surround sound making you feel like you’re in the centre of the action.Although the story wasn’t all that great, I loved the action sequences and the special effects. Some of the film was also shot in China and the Chinese actress Li BingBing made an appearance, so even though it was a Hollywood movie, I could relate to it more easily. Describe your favorite movieYou should say :when and where you saw itwhat type of film it waswhat the film was aboutand explain why it is your favorite film参考范文:My favorite movie is Zootopia(疯狂动物城) ,which is a 3D animated cartoon produced by Walt Disney pictures. I watched it with my best friend in thecinema in March this year when it wason show in China. It is a story about that in a city where all animals live in harmony ,the rabbit Judy became a policewoman through her own efforts , realizing her dream in childhood. The reason that I like this movie is that the Bonnie Judy tried her best to become a cop even if everyone thought it was ridiculous and impossible. Miss Judy ,however, finally made it brilliantly and perfectly. The way that she became a cop went through ups and downs(经历人生起起伏伏),she also almost gave up in the duration. But her friend Mr. Fox pulled her through (渡过难关) I feel that when someone is suffering his or her tough time , it is really important he or she could be supported by their friends or families who just like life savers at that time. Moreover ,I was deeply moved by the theme song named Try Everything ,which is really positive and awesome and it can cheer me up when I come to a standstill ( 停滞不前 ) or in a trouble. "I won't give up no I won't give in. Till I reach the end and then I'll start again. NO I won't leave I wanna try everything I wanna try even though I could fail " The lyrics encourage me to be more brave and confident when facing difficulties. So that is my favorite movie, which is determined to fulfill my aspirations ,extremely impressive and touching.

Question one:Who is your favorite film/movie star?Have you ever seen a film/movie star in real life? Are international film/movie stars popular in your country?Would you like to be a film or movie star?Question two:How do you feel about ads?Do you like advertisements on TV or in magazines? Which kind of advertisements is the most popular one in your country? Will advertisements trigger shopping desires?Question three:Are there many public holidays in your country?Which is your favorite public holiday? What do you usually do on a public holiday?Do you think there should be more public holidays in your country?Answer sheet:Firstly,I will choose the topic one and two for an oral presentation, here we go.Well...Leonardo dicaprio is one of my favorite international movie stars in the world. When he was young,he was handsome, humorous and talented. Now he has become more mature, tough and charming.Titanic in1997is one of his masterpieces and the one moved me to tears.Finally,18years later,in2015,he won the Best Actor Oscar for The Revenant,I’m so proud and happy for him.To be honest,I once had a desire to be a world-famous actor, but I did not have the same level of exquisite performance skills, rigorous attitude and artistic taste. As for advertisements,I’m quite resistant to them, especially those interspersed with TV programs. In my opinion, the most acceptable advertisement for the general public is the one that is scrolled to play on the digital screen of the consumer experience store,It is really eye-catching and high-level in production.Ads can attract consumers'attention and then expand the brand influence. And the ultimate purpose is to stimulate their desire for shopping,so I think it is useful.China is one of the four ancient civilizations,5,000years of history gave birth to a diverse culture,so there are a range of traditional festivals in our country, such as the Spring Festival,Dragon Boat Festival,Mid-Autumn Festival and so on.Personally I love rice dumplings taste and the solar term at that time,so I prefer the Dragon Boat Festival. For these kind of national holidays, most people often choose to travel to experience the exotic customs as I do and the consumption and overall impact is immeasurable, thus,I appropriately tend to add some public holidays.
