My hometown-- Shanghai

Shanghai is in the east of China. I was born in Shanghai, and I have lived here since 1996.

Shanghai is an international city. It is one of the largest cities in the world. It’s known as “the Shopping Paradise” because there are a lot of department stores and huge shopping centers here. There are many places of interest in Shanghai, such as the Bund, Yu Garden and so on.

If you go to the Bund at night, you will see its nice night views. If you want to eat different local snacks, you can go to Yu Garden. Therefore, it isn’t surprising that many tourists come to visit Shanghai to shop.

My Father

My father is a policeman. He has been a policeman for fifteen years. Every morning he goes work by bike at half past seven. His work starts at eight o’clock. He and other policemen walk along the streets. He likes his job very much, and he works very hard. Sometimes he goes home very late. He says he would like to catch thieves and help keep the city safe.

My Favourite Film

My favourite film is “Kung Fu Panda”. Last year my father took me to see this film and I enjoy ed every minute of it. “Kung Fu Panda” is a cartoon and it lasts 90 minutes. The panda in the film is very funny and always makes me laugh a lot. I think it is the greatest cartoon of the year because it is helpful to children. From this film I have learnt that we should try our best to do everything. In this way our dream will come true.

Go shopping

There is a new supermarket near my home. We have heard that the things there are very cheap, so this weekend I will go shopping with my parents. Mum wants to buy some fruit, such as apples bananas and so on. We usually have some fruit after supper. Dad likes eating chocolate and he will buy some. Mum also wants to buy a new dress for me because mine is too small. I’m sure we will have a wonde rful time in the supermarket.

The problem I have ever had

I had ever had a big problem. I couldn’t study English well. I always failed in the English exams. Although I listened to my English teacher carefully in clas s and took notes, I still couldn’t get good marks in the tests. I knew English was very useful in our life and it became more and more important. I asked my English teacher for help. She suggested I go to the English corner and do more reading exercise. I did so and I found this was really a good way. Now I can speak English well and always get good marks in English tests.
