还是我的运气好，到爷爷家的二天晚上，花开了。
下午六点，像一盏精致的深红色的宫灯似的花苞，张开了洁白的小口，散发出
一股请香。
真没想到，深红色的花苞居然会开出雪白的花。
昙花以五分钟一厘米的惊人速度开放着。
我坐在花盒旁仔细的观察着，看地出花瓣在逐渐张开；当他的花瓣全部舒展开时，直径足有二十厘米。
原来，那深红色的宫灯似的花苞是萼片，现在它正向下弯曲着，托着洁白的花朵。
每片洁白的花瓣像柳枝，薄得像纸，光亮透明。
它的花芯是那样的美丽，淡黄色的雄芯簇拥着白色的雌芯。
美丽的花朵好象对着人们微笑，散着纯正的芳香，给人一种舒畅、文雅的感觉。
我不明白的是：它的花朵为什么开在叶子上呢？后来，听爷爷说，昙花的叶子已经脱化了，那像叶子的是变态茎，我才恍然大悟。
可惜，这婀娜多姿的花朵，只开到十点种就开始萎缩，时间是那么短暂，无怪乎人们都说“昙花一现”啊！
昙花虽好，只是开放的时间太短。
