2018年英语a级考试真题及答案

2018年英语a级考试真题及答案全文共6篇示例,供读者参考篇1The 2018 A-Level English Exam - A Kid's TakeWow, can you believe it? The big kids had to take theirA-Level English exam last year in 2018! That test must have been super hard. I'm just a little kid in elementary school, but I tried my best to understand the questions and answers. Let me tell you all about it!First up was the reading comprehension section. They had to read these giant passages and answer questions about them. One passage was about the history of video games. How cool is that? I would have aced that part for sure because I'm a pro gamer! The questions asked things like what year the first video game was created and what some of the most popular games were. Easy peasy for this gaming expert! Then there was a passage about climate change and the environment. That one seems a bit boring to me, but I know it's a really important topic. The questions asked students to summarize the main points and explain some of the causes andeffects of climate change. I may have struggled with that one since I'm just a kid and don't know too much science yet. But I'm sure all those smart older students wrote great answers. The writing section looked hard! Students had to write different types of essays and articles. One prompt asked them to give their opinion on whether PE classes should be mandatory in schools. As a kid who loves gym class and recess, I definitely would have said yes to keeping PE! We need time to run around and get our energy out. Another prompt wanted students to write a short story from the perspective of an inanimate object. How weird is that? Like writing as a pencil or a water bottle? I'd try my best, but I'm not sure how good my story would be.Then there were questions on grammar, punctuation, spelling and vocabulary. Ugh, that's the boring stuff! But it's probably important for doing well on the exam. I'm still learning lots of those grammar rules in school. Vocabulary is fun though –I'm picking up new words all the time from books I read. The exam also had a section on spoken language skills. Students had to answer questions based on recordings of conversations and speeches. That sounds really hard to me! Listening carefully is one of the trickiest things. I often zone outwhen my teacher is talking. Hopefully I'll get better at listening by the time I'm old enough for my A-Levels.So yeah, that's my take on the 2018 A-Level English exam questions and answers! It seems crazy difficult to me as a little kid. I can't even imagine having to take a test like that. Those teenagers must be super smart and work really hard in school. I'll just be over here reading comics and playing video games for now. Maybe someday I'll be ready for an exam that intense. But ugh, not for a loooong time!篇22018 English A-Level Exam: A Kid's PerspectiveWow, the 2018 English A-Level exam was really hard! I'm just a kid in elementary school, but my older brother had to take it since he's in his last year of high school. He let me look at the questions after he was done and I have to say, I'm super glad I didn't have to answer those! The first section was all about reading comprehension. There were a few long passages to read and then tons of questions about analyzing the writing style, identifying themes, making inferences, and all that complicated stuff. One passage was about the history of some ancient civilization. Another was somereally old poem that didn't make any sense to me. My brother said understanding those passages and questions was like trying to read alphabet soup! Then there was a section on literary analysis. The students had to write essays analyzing specific novels, plays, and poetry collections that they had studied in their English courses. Can you imagine having to write a whole essay just analyzing one book? And these weren't even fun, modern books - they were all classics from like a billion years ago that nobody actualy enjoys reading anymore. Snooze fest!My personal favorite section was the creative writing part. Students had to choose from a handful of writing prompts and craft either a narrative story or a descriptive essay. One prompt was to write a story about going on an adventure. Another prompt asked students to describe their dream vacation destination in great detail. Those could actually be kind of fun for a kid to write about! Although knowing the exam graders, they probably wanted super serious, scholarly responses without much creativity or imagination. After the creative writing was a huge grammar section where they had to analyze sentences, identify parts of speech, explain proper usage of punctuation and capitalization, and prove theyknew all sorts of crazy grammar rules that nobody actually follows when speaking and writing in real life. Who even talks like that anyways? Not me!The very last section covered literary techniques and devicES like metaphor, simile, rhyme scheme, foreshadowing, paradox, and other fancy literary terms. Students had to identify examples of each technique in given excerpts. Then they had to explain how certain techniques were used to contribute to the overall meaning or effect of the written works. Sounds kind of complicated if you ask me!By the end of it all, my brother looked exhausted. He said it was one of the hardest tests he'd ever taken, with so many reading, writing, and analyzing tasks to complete in one sitting. I'll admit, some of the creative writing prompts piqued my interest. But having to write essays analyzing ancient literature and identify all those literary techniques and grammar rules? No thank you! I'll stick to reading Captain Underpants and watching Phineas and Ferb for now. When I'm in high school and have to take that crazy A-Level English exam, someone please remind me of this essay so I can start studying wayyyy in advance. Or maybe I'll just pursue a career in something that doesn't involve so much reading andwriting. Like a zookeeper or racecar driver! Now those jobs sound fun. Anyways, mad props to any students who can master all that reading, writing, and literary analysis required for theA-Level English tests. You're going to need those skills if you want to get into a good university. As for me, I'll keep working on mastering the art of good ol' show-and-tell!篇32018年英语A级考试真题及答案嗨,大家好!我今天要给大家介绍一下2018年的英语A级考试真题及答案。

I am very familiar with the company. My next book deals with it in detail, which is to be published in autumn of 2018. I am also familiar with European consumer. As a Dutch citizen, I have lived in Europe for 46 years and studied European consumer behavior for decades.I believe that Sand River offers something unique to the European market. It has established long-term supply relations with herdsman (牧民) families and owns advanced German machinery. Thus it combines natural resources with modern manufacturing techniques. Since then, we have met several times and talked about Sand River "s philosophy, strategy, and appeal to both Chinese and international consumers. I was struck by her deep knowledge about knitting ( 针织) technology, her enthusiasm for the brand, and her deep understanding of the cashmere shopper. The 5 questions or unfinished statementsare numbered 41 to 45.The challenge of writing a powerful cover letter ( 附信) can lead job candidates to search endlessly for advice, but be careful. While you likely will find some valuable advice, you may come across a few tips that could mislead you."You need a lengthy cover letter." This probably is one of the "bad cover letter tips." Think about it: hiring managers have piles of resumes and cover letters to review. If yours is longer than the rest, it might not get read at all. Aim to get all of your points across in three brief paragraphs: a clear introduction that lets employers know which job you are applying for and why you are interested in the position; a paragraph that includes a few specific examples of how you have excelled (擅长) in past roles that are relevant to the open position; and a concluding paragraph that tells employers how you will benefit their company and requests a future meeting."Your cover letter is less important than your resume." Some hiring managers shove (随手扔) cover letters to the side, but most do not. Because you never know what type of hiring manager you are dealing with, it is best to submit a nice cover letter. While some employers place less emphasis on cover letters, others decide who to interview based on them. Remember that the point of a cover letter is to tell employers something that makes them want to meet you.1. Chinese New Year has been welcomed in Britain with its biggest ever program of events and celebrations. From London's Trafalgar Square to major cities across Britain, tens of thousands of British people have joined Chinese communities to celebrate the arrival of the Year of the Rooster. I really got a lot from the mountain-climbing. It gave me time to talk with my father and to be in deep thought as well as develop my patience.Once we climbed a very high mountain. I wanted to quit climbing, but my father said to me, “You can always see a beautiful sky at the top of the mountain, but you can’t see it before you reach the top. Only there can you see all of the nice things, which is just like your life.”At that time, I was too young to understand his words. But later after that, I got to know the meaning of hope in life. But equally important, Sand River works with modern fashion designers to create truly contemporary and appealing designs. The result is a newly-established cashmere (羊绒) brand that appeals to a target group of high-income women.I met Mrs. King the first time in 2013. Since then, we have met several times and talked about Sand River "s philosophy, strategy, and appeal to both Chinese and international consumers. I was struck by her deep knowledge about knitting (针织) technology, her enthusiasm for the brand, and her deep understanding of the cashmere shopper. I regard her as a "woman of her word."To summarize, I believe Sand River products deserve a place in luxurious European department stores and Mrs. King is a reliable partner. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.Sincerely,Joan Smith1. The 5 questions or unfinished statements are numbered 41 to 45.The challenge of writing a powerful cover letter (附信) can lead job candidates to search endlessly for advice, but be careful. Why should job candidates be careful when searching for advice to write a cover letter?A Some tips are not practical.B Some tips could be misleading.C It is impossible to get useful tips.D It is difficult to find valuable tips.2. Why shouldn't you write a lengthy cover letter?A Hiring managers may not read it at all.B Well-written cover letters may be read first.C It is difficult to write a good long cover letter.D You are unable to express your points clearly.3. According to the passage, the introductory paragraph of a cover letter should include ______.A your request for a job interviewB the position you are interested inC some examples of your achievementsD your education background and degree4. Which of the following should be included in the concluding paragraph of a cover letter?A Your expected salary.B Your hobbies and interests.C Your request for a meeting.D Your professional background.5. According to the writer, the purpose of a cover letter is to ______.A urge the employer to read your resumeB please your potential employerC get the employer to meet youD show off your achievementsTask 3Directions: Read the following passage. After reading it, you are required to complete the outline below it (No. 46 to No. 50). Walking together, my father and I used to have a lot of conversations through which I learned lessons from his experiences. He always told me, “You should have goals like climbing the mountain.” Without the mountain-climbing that we both enjoyed, we couldn’t have enough time to spend together because my father was very busy. I really got a lot from the mountain-climbing. It gave me time to talk with my father and to be in deep thought as well as develop my patience.Once we climbed a very high mountain. It was so challenging for me because I was only ten year s old. During the first few hours of climbing, I enjoyed the flowers and trees, and the birds’ singing. But as time passed, I got a pain in both of my legs. I found myself standing at the top of the mountain, and the sky was as clear as crystal.21. The passage tells us that mountain-climbing was ______ for the father and the son.A. hardB. enjoyableC. painfulD. comfortable22. The underlined word “crystal” in the passage means _______.A. 岩石B. 火焰C. 水晶D.寒冰23. Which of the following is the closest in meaning to the father’s words in the second paragraph?A. You will get all you need at the top of the mountain.B. The sky is always as clear as crystal.C. You can find life is full of nice things.D. Never give up half-way.24. We can infer from the last paragraph that ______.A. the writer was very successful in his lifeB. the writer reached the top of the mountainC. though the writer was young, he could understand his fatherD. the writer used to stop half-way when he climbed the mountain25. The best title for the passage is ______.A. Reaching the Top of the MountainB. Standing at the Top of the MountainC. Conversations between Father and SonD. How to Get to the Top of the MountainPassage TwoEveryone has got two personalities (性格) —the one that is shown to the world and the other that is secret and real. You don’t show your secret personality when you’re awake because you can control yourself, but when you’re asleep, your sleeping position shows the real you. In a normal night, of course, you often change your sleeping positions. By the end of that time he was looking back on his school-days as a time of great variety and satisfaction. He searched for an interest in his work, with little success. One fine day instead of going to work Ron got a lift on a lorry going south. With nine pounds in his pocket, a full heart and a great longing for the sea, he set out to make a better way for himself. That evening, in Bournemouth, he had a sandwich and a drink in a café run by an elderly man and his wife. Before he had finished the sandwich, the woman had taken him on for the rest of the summer, at twenty pounds a week, a room upstairs and three meals a day. The ease and speed of it rather took Ron’s breath away. At quiet times Ron had to check the old man’s arithmetic in the records of the business. At the end of the season, he stayed on the coast. He was again surprised how straightforward it was for a boy of seventeento make a living. He worked in shops mostly, but once he took a job in a hotel for three weeks. You are probably a lot sharper in the spring than you are at any other time of year. A noted scientist, Ellsworth Huntington (1876-1947), concluded from other men’s work and his own among peoples in different climates that climate and, temperature have a definite effect on our mental abilities. He found that cool weather is much more favorable for creative thinking than is summer heat. This does not mean that all people are less intelligent in the summer than they are during the rest of the year. It does mean, however, that the mental abilities of large numbers of people tend to be lowest in the summer.Spring appears to be the best period of the year for thinking. One reason may be that in the spring man’s mental abilities are affected by the same factors that bring about great changes in all nature.Fall is the next-best season, then winter. As for summer, it seems to be a good time to take a long vacation from thinking!11.According to the passage, your intelligence probably________.A.stays the same throughout the yearB.varies from day to dayC.changes with the seasonsD.changes from year to year12.Ellsworth Huntington decided that climate and temperature have _____A. a great effect on everyone’s intelligenceB.some effect on most persons’ intelligenceC.some effect on a few persons’ intelligenceD.no effect on most persons’ intelligence13.It seems that the cold winter____A.increases the ability to thinkB.is the best time for thinkingC.is better for thinking than is very warm weatherD.decreases the ability to think14.One possible reason why spring is the best season for thinking is that______A.all nature, including man, is growing thenB.it lasts longer than the other seasonsC.it is not too warm and not too coldD.both B and C15. He found the boy's father in the hall waiting worriedly. On seeing him, the father cried out, "Why did you take all this time to come? Don't you know that my son is in danger? Don't you have any sense of duty?" The doctor smiled and said, "I am sorry. I wasn't in the hospital and I came as fast as I could after receiving the call and now, I wish you'd calm down so that I can do my work." "Calm down?! What if your son was in this room right now? Would you calm down? If your own son dies while waiting for a doctor, then what will you do?" said the father angrily. The doctor smiled again and replied, "We will do our best and you should also pray (祈祷)for your son's healthy life." The surgery took some hours after which the doctor went out happy, "Thank goodness! Your son is saved!" And without waiting for the father's reply he carried on his way running by saying, "If you have any questions, ask the nurse." "Couldn't he wait some minutes so that I can ask about my son's state?" shouted the father when seeing the nurse minutes after the doctor left. The nurse answered, tears coming down her face. "His son died yesterday in a road accident. He was at the burial (葬礼) when we called him for your son's surgery. And now that he saved your son's life, he left running to finish his son's burial."21. What is the best title for the text?A. Seeing is believingB. Time waits for no manC. Practice makes perfectD. Think before you decidePassage TwoHave you ever had trouble sleeping in a new place? Lots of people do. And now researchersfrom Brown University in Rhode Island think they know why. They found that one-half of the brain "remains more awake" than the other half when people are trying to sleep in a new place. The sleep findings were reported in Current Biology by Brown University. In their report, the researchers said many people report they have a harder time sleeping the first night at a hotel or other places outside their home. They call it "first-night influence". "In Japan they say, 'If you change your be d, you can't sleep,'" said Yuka Sasaki, one of the report's writers. "You don't sleep very well in a new place. We all know about it." The researchers measured brain waves (测量脑波) for 35 volunteers over two nights in a laboratory. The two nights were a week apart (间隔). They found during the first night the left half of the brain was more active than the right half. This was during the first deep-sleep period, the researchers said. Sasaki said a lot of questions remain. Researchers did not keep measuring brain waves all night long. So, they don't know if the left half keeps "watch" all night, or whether it "works in shifts (轮换) with the right half later in the night". They also do not know why the brain activity, at least during the first period of deep sleep, is always on the left half. For some, this research may be calming. It is good to know that our brain is "looking out for us" in a new place. But it may not help with sleep. That brain activity, at least according to this new research, makes it harder to get the sleep people need to wake up well rested in the morning.26.How many times did the researchers measure brain waves for 35 volunteers?A. Once.B. Twice.C. Three times.D. Four times.27. The researchers found during the first deep-sleep period.A. the brain waves remained the sameB. the brain activity helped with sleepC. the right half of the brain kept "watch"D. the left half of the brain was more active28. Which of the following is one of the questions that remain?A. Whether the new bed keeps you from sleeping.B. How you have trouble sleeping in a new place.C. Why the brain activity is always on the left half.D. What people can do when they can't sleep well.29. The underlined word "calming" has the closest meaning to" ".A. pleasingB. differentC. seriousD. strange30. What is the text mainly about?A. What we will have to do to sleep well.B. How researchers measure brain waves.C. Who doesn't sleep well in a new place.D. Why it's harder to sleep in a new place. Section C TranslationDirections: Translate the following sentences into English.31.在短短的两年时间里,这个小镇已变得让我认不出来了。
