傲慢与偏见英文读后感(精选10篇)傲慢与偏见英文读后感(精选10篇)傲慢与偏见英文读后感篇1Many people simply regard Pride and Prejudice as a love story, but in my opinion, this book is an illustration of the society at that time. She perfectly reflected the relation between money and marriage at her time and gave the people in her works vivid characters. The characters have their own personalities. Mrs. Bennet is a woman who makes great efforts to marry off her daughters. Mr. Bingley is a friendly young man, but his friend, Mr. Darcy, is a very proud man who seems to always feel superior. Even the five daughters in Bennet family are very different. Jane is simple, innocent and never speaks evil of others. Elizabeth is a clever girl who always has her own opinion. Mary likes reading classic books. (Actually she is a pedant.) Kitty doesn’t have her own opinion but likes to follow her sister, Lydia. Lydia is a girl who follows exotic things, handsome man, and is somehow a little profligate. When I read the book, I can always find the same personalities in the society now. That is why I think this book is indeed the representative of the society in Britain in the 18th century. The family of gentleman in the countryside is Jane Auste n’s favourite topic. But this little topic can reflect big problems. It concludes the stratum situation and economic relationships in Britain in her century. You can find these from the very beginning of this book. The first sentence in this book is impres sive. It reads: “It is a truth well known to all the world that an unmarried man in possession of a large fortune must be in need of a wife”. Theundertone is very clear: the foundation of the marriage at that time is not emotion but possession.People always think that Austen was an expert at telling love stories. In fact, the marriage in her book is not the result of love, but the result of economic needs. After reading this book, I know the truth is that a poor woman must be in need of a husband, a wealthy man.I couldn’t forget how eager Mrs. Bennet wants to marry off her daughters. If you want to know why she is so crazy about these things, I must mention the situation in Britain at that time. Only the eldest son had the privilege of inheriting his fath er’s possessions. Younger sons and daughters who are used to luxurious lives have no choice but marry a man or woman in possession of a large fortune to continue their comfortable lives. Thus, we can see that getting married is a way to become wealthier, particularly for women without many possessions. Jane Austen told us that money and possession determined everything, including marriage and love in her century. In “Pride and Prejudice”, the sister of Mr. Bingley strongly opposed his plan of marrying Jane because the Bennets don’t have many possessions and their social positions are much lower than them. From this, we can see there are a lot of obstacles for a not very rich woman to marry a wealthy husband. The society, the relatives would not allow them to get married. In modern society, although the marriages of economic needs have decreased rapidly, the concept of “money determines everything” is still rooted in some people’s mind.A lot of parents try hard to interfere their children’s marriages. Education background, possessions, jobs remains the main reason that may influence one’s marriage. Marry for money isstill a big problem in our society. We can’t help thinking: can money determine everything?Austen left this problem for us to think. The genius of Jane Austen lies in this perfect simplicity, the simplicity that reflects big problems. Although Austen was only 21 when she wrote “Pride and Prejudice”, her sharp observation of social lives makes the style of this book surprisingly mature and lively. The plots in her works are always very natural. The development of the plot is as inevitable as a problem in mathematics. I think the depth of Pride and Prejudice is the reason that makes this book prominent and classic. Today, her book still can be the guide telling us the economic relationships both at her time and in modern time.傲慢与偏见英文读后感篇2Then man treat great event in ones life with punishing, Demonstrate different attitudes to the love question of the marriage of young girl of the family origin of middle class of villages and towns, Thus reflected authors oneselfs marriage view:It is wrong to get married for the property, money and position; Get married and does not consider that above-mentioned factors are unwise too . However, in England the figure maybe is my most admirable authoress Miss Austen who can never have too many respects from the common people just like me. After read her two masterpieces of books Pride and Prejudice and Sense and Sensibility, I feel so proud of being female to see a world-famous authoress using her independent thoughts, humor words to show us the relationship between the so-called superiors and the lower-class.At that time, neither in the east nor in the west, it is not so easy for a woman to become a great figure with literary reputation. In China Li made it, while in England Miss Austen with her unique characteristic also realized her dream after a long struggle with the temporal points. It seems that all in Jane’s life, she made a decision between sense and sensibility; once therewas an old saying “Affection is desirable, money is absolutely indispensable.” She resolutely chose her true lov e but not a splendid life or a comfortable home, what a pity she can not marry the one she did not really love even a beloved one, in her short life, she finished six famous books with her heart and soul but never married and stayed single for ever. When reading Pride and Prejudice, I wondered why the oldest sister in the Bennet family also was named Jane, is there any possibility Jane Bennet is the soul of Miss Austen; and Miss Austen expected to realize all the pity which can not come true in her real life, so Jane Bennet was pictured as prefect as possible to be the best of the five sisters. It’s a classical book with abundant description of everyone’s inner heart, especially the changes in their hearts. It can never deserve too many analyses for it was so wonderfully worked. One can say anything but ordinary to show our respects and admiration. The man said“I do not have that talent of conversing easily with people I have never met before.” The woman said“We all don’t know him.” The book is full of the man’s pride and the woman’s prejudice in its lines and words. From his pride we can see his confidence and persistence; whereas from his pride we can’t see his kindness and gentleness which he hid behind the surface. From her prejudice we can see her firmness and treason; whereas from her prejudice we can’t see her expectation and worries which she hid behind the surface. So it gave us a beginning of the story of pride and prejudice and led us to Miss Austen’s emotion world. So wonderful a book, so classical a story, so prefect a happy ending made itnever a problem whether his pride or her prejudice counted, because of love, all can be neglected. In the book once the proud Mr Dracy talked about the traits an accomplished woman must have, it needed a thorough knowledge of music, singing, dancing, drawing and modern languages, and besides this, a certain something in her manner of walking, in her voice and her behaviour. What’s more, something more solid, the improvement of her mind by wide reading. It could never be too strict for a common woman to follow.About the attitudes to the marriage, Charles Dickens in the Oliver Twist also showed us the opinions of that day, he said if a man has ambitions to enter politics, then he marries a woman with a stain on her n ame, over though it’s not her fault, it might spoil his chances of success in his life. The society is cruel, people might use the knowledge of his wife’s doubtful birth against him, and against his children, too. And one day, he might begin to regret his marriage. But love is so great that nothing can conquer it, and in the Pride and Prejudice we see the type of classical love, if we say in the realization we are so sorry to see the over more interest lead us to forget what love is, what a pity when love is not so pure as it should be, what a pity when love is used as a medium of exchange. To my happiness the books inflected Miss Austen’s marriage view, it is wrong to get married for property, money and states. She objects to getting married for money and regarding the marriage as a trifling matter. She also points that the man and the woman’s emotion is the foundation of an ideal marriage. After reading it, I feel that I just want to turn Elizabeth whois ordinary but with special beauty, brave but with a little stubborn, though she is not a prefect woman our eyes, she does be a woman with prefect disadvantages. To the hero Mr Dracy, I feel that I just want to marry a gentleman like Mr Dracy who always puts his love deep in his heart, till the day he made sure that Elizabeth was the one he wanted to spend the rest time of the live. Under the handsome and gentle; proud and serious face, there was a kind heart full of love.Pride is just like a piece of beautiful clothes which is luxurious and untouchable. However, the expense of pride is loneliness. Prejudice is just like the clouds floating in the sky with its freedom. However, the expense of prejudice is lost. What I learnt from the books and Jane Austen is deeply printed in my mind and I should never forget Elizabeth and Mr Dracy’s prefect love story, they usefully influenced each other. His mind might have been softened and his manners improved by her sociability, and she might have learnt from his greater judgment and knowledge of the world. Just like a fairy tale, the price and princess have a happy live together, which I am looking forward.傲慢与偏见英文读后感篇4Pride and Prejudice is my favorite novel, which impresses me for a long time. It describes a love story mainly between Elisabeth, who I like the best, and a rich and proud man, Darcy. The story began with the arrival of a crowd of rich men who rent a house near the Bennet. In a ball, Elisabeth gave such a bad impression on Darcys first pride that she refused Darcys first proposal. Darcy was so surprised by Elisabeths refusal that he loved Elisabeth more deeply. And Elisabeths antipathy made Darcy realize his shortings. He was not angry about Elisabethscensure, but also he changed his previous proud attitude.During Elisabeths travel in Darcys manor. Darcy was very nice to her uncle and aunt, different from previous proud attitude. When one of Elisabeths sisters ran away with Wickham, Darcy helped Elisabeth find her sister and prevent her sister from the loss of reputation, with nobody knowing that it was he who helped the Bennet. So many changes in Darcy eliminated Elisabeths prejudice. At last it end with their marriage.Taking the daily life as its material, this story reflected the life and love in a conservative你and blocking England town. It reflected the authors view about marriage that it is fault to marry for property, money and status and it is also foolish to take these elements into account. In fact Darcys pride manifested the gap between their statuses. Since his pride existed, there is no ideal marriage between Elisabeth and Darcy. From the different attitudes from Darcys two proposals, it reflected the feminine pursuit of personality independence and right equality, which is a progressive character from the image of Elisabeth.傲慢与偏见英文读后感篇5The man treat GRE at event in ones life with punishing,Demonstrate different attitudes to the love question of the marriage of young girl of the family origin of middle class of villages and towns, Thus reflected authors oneself;s marriage view: It is wrong to get married for the property, money and position; Get married and does not consider that above-mentioned factors are unwise too . If we promise somebody something, we should keep our promises.Yoyo and Doc encourage the frog prince not to lose his confidence. The scope of this work is only three or four families in a village, with Elizabeth as the main character. The main plot is nothing more than the chat about marriage and property in the front of the fireplace and in the meeting of relatives and friends, the bee chase and butterfly chase in the market, church, dance, banquet and other occasions, and the love talk. The arrogance of Darcy and the prejudice of the *e all have obvious class attribute. Their frustrations in love are not due to their accidental misunderstanding, but because there is an inevitable gap between the two sides in different class status. Elizabeth, as a middle-class mon girl, only by virtue of the charm of her personality and her excellent quality, won the fame and fortune of the noble young master, and finally became a good couple with her. This is another copy of Cinderellas story. The same is true in life. Only by putting down the arrogant attitude, throwing away the prejudiced vision, treating with empathy, and understanding each other through munication, can we know each other. Like Mr. Darcy in the book, although the appearance gives the impression of arrogance, arrogance and superciliousness. But the heart is kind and sincere and willing to let go, its attitude of not stubborn is really appreciated.名著《傲慢与偏见》英语读后感篇三This is a story about an orphans growing path. 《傲慢与偏见》英语读后感一"Pride and prejudice" this book in junior high school have touched. Just at that time only saw the emotional entanglement between the actor and actress, ups and downs mood and let people immersed in them, after a few years, through again, do not have a flavor.Bennet had five daughters were not married, and Mrs. Bennet is a neurotic vanity is dye-in-the-wood woman, will each daughter.many is her this life only event but never bother to discipline daughter's behavior, and Mr. Bennett is a family-centered old gentleman, but orgiastically wife and daughter's inappropriate behavior, prefer to hide into the library to seek calm. Jane Bennett is bennet's daughter, beautiful appearance, disposition gentle, quiet, Ellie was Bennett is bennet family second daughter, personality vivacious, intelligent and beauty and rig, The third daughter Mary looks not if other sisters well, therefore in character and knowledge on studying hard, but also caused her arrogant attitude; The Kitty ranked fourth personality buckish, with yao sister Lydia hottest loyal dancing, behavior often disrespect not know; Yao daughters vanity, pay attention to enjoyment, dancing and and army officers dou make fun is her sole purpose in life. One day the near their house moved to a rich single man bingley Charles. He is a personality temperate, personhood sincere not the nuances of the rich young man, in abanquet bingley but love on the bennet daughter Jane, and Jane Bennett mutual love, While bingley's good friend darcy · fee Bates William personality formal serious, mismanagement words often give a person arrogance arrogance impressed, unwittingly like work knuts the second daughter of house was Ellie, but because the Bennett a itself is not decent family make these two relationship by obstacle, Ellie was the beginning of arrogance darcy bias, the main thing is to describe their this relationship transformation process.《傲慢与偏见》英语读后感二Pride and Prejudice is a chefdoeuvre. But my first impression of this story was from screen. It's long long ago, maybe before I can read english books. I don't remember which movie edition I had seen. But I was impressed by the music, the scenery and the costume. I was very favor of a section of music in its balls. It's pretty brisk, liked a wonderful song of a bird. Regarding to the characters, I liked Elizabeth, the heroine, though I didn't think she's beautiful. But she's smart. However, I didn't pay much attention to the plot. I thought it's so long that it made me impatient and bored. By now, I haven't read the whole story in English or its Chinese version, either. I owe it to my prejudice. In fact, I didn't understand the story at that time. I didn't know why it called Pride and Prejudice. Of course someone was pride, but I didn't find where' s the prejudice. I thought it's normal, the way people treated each other in that. I considered prejudice would be very disgusting. But to the movie everthing was OK in my minds, except its length. Now, I think I have understood more about it. I'm a prejudiced person so I can't find where's wrong. I merely like to do the things I like. Everytime I meet somebody orsomething,my thinking about he or it all depends on my foregone experience and my mood of the time. I like it so just like it, if not so just not. I'm a person thinking by heart not by brain. What is worse, I actually didn't think it's wrong. I thought everyone is all like that.Everyone has his special way to cognize the world. So it's individuality, not prejudice. But I think something is wrong. Though everyone can judge in the way he likes, he can't ignore other ones. You can like what you like and hate what you hate, but you should be objective when you meet external world. I think it means that you should consider things roundly, not just partial. Individuality is different from prejudice. What is it? I need to think more.《傲慢与偏见》英语读后感三Love seems to be the perpetual theme all over the world. But actually what is love? For most girls in 20s, love may mean everything to them. They seek for love bravely no matter what difficulties they may face. In their eyes, love is pure or even holy. However, those are just an ideal situation, n real life; people tend to find a balance between love and property.Pride and prejudice is Austin’s great work. Through the discussion of the different marriages and love, the writer demonstrates her concept about love and marriage: love and marriage is closely associated with property and society, however, love and marriage can not only be decided by the property and social status. An ideal marriage should be based on mutual affection, respect and the same interest. She rejects the marriage based only on wealth.Different people have different ideas upon marriage. By the description and discussion of the four marriages in the novel, we can see that Austen fully expresses her views on love andmarriage. Only by appreciating the marriage founded on the basis of mutual understanding and true love, but also by satirizing the marriage founded on the basis of origin and desire. The marriage based on social position and money can’t bring happiness in life. Aimless marriage and love are unpractical.Everything goes wrong for poor couples. Marriage based on wealth is not a fault. At least, it can offer us a better condition of life. Property is not everything in the life but without it, we can do nothing. This is called reality. But if you only married for wealth, you sell your liberty. The rest of your life might be miserable, and your marriage will filled with endless bitterness.。

《傲慢与偏见》英文读后感一:The first sentence in this book is impressive. It reads: “It is a truth well known to all the world that an unmarried man in possession of a large fortune must be in need of a wife”. The undertone is very clear: the foundation of the marriage at that time is not emotion but possession.People always think that Austen was an expert at telling love stories. Only the eldest son had the privilege of inheriting his father’s possessions. Bingley st rongly opposed his plan of marrying Jane because the Bennets don’t have many possessions and their social positions are much lowerthan them. From this, we can see there are a lot of obstacles for a not very rich woman to marry a wealthy husband. The society, the relatives would not allow them to get married. In modern society, although the marriages of economic needs have decreased rapidly, the concept of “money determines everything” is still rooted in some people’s mind.A lot of parents try hard to inte rfere their children’s marriages. Education background, possessions, jobs remains the main reason that may influence one’s marriage. Marry for money is still a big problem in our society. We can’t help thinking: can money determine everything?《傲慢与偏见》英文读后感二:One of the greatest love stories of all time, Pride & Prejudice, comes to the screen in a glorious new adaptation starring Keira Knightley. When Elizabeth Bennett (Knightley) meets the handsome Mr. Darcy (Matthew MacFadyen), she believes he is the last man on earth she could ever marry. But as their lives become intertwined in an unexpected adventure, she finds herself captivated by the very person she swore to loathe for all eternity. Based on the beloved masterpiece by Jane Austen, it is the classic tale of love and misunderstanding that sparkles with romance, wit and emotional force. Critics are calling it "Exhilarating. A joy from start to finish"《傲慢与偏见》英文读后感三:The novel opens with the famous line, "It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife.". and ends with two marriages: Jane and Bingley's, as well as Darcy and Elizabeth's. Both couples are assumed to live happily ever after.Elizabeth (Lizzy) Bennet is the core of the family. Elizabeth isthe second of Mr. and Mrs. Bennet's five daughters, and is an intelligent, bold, attractive twenty-year-old when the story begins. In addition to being her father's favourite, Elizabeth is characterized as a sensible, yet stubborn, woman. Misled by his cold outward behaviour, Elizabeth originally holds Mr. Darcy in contempt. However, she finds that Mr. Darcy improves on acquaintance, more so than she would expect.Fitzwilliam Darcy (commonly known as Mr. Darcy) is the central male character and Elizabeth's second love interest in the novel. He is an intelligent, wealthy, extremely handsome and reserved 28-year-old man, who often appears haughty or proud to strangers but possesses an honest and kind nature underneath. Initially, he considers Elizabeth his social inferior, unworthy of his attention, but he finds that, despite his inclinations, he cannot deny his feelings for Elizabeth. His initial proposal of marriage is rejected because of his pride and Elizabeth's prejudice against him; however, at the end of the novel, after their relationship has blossomed, he is happily engaged to a loving Elizabeth.。

Jane Austen’s novels were witty, warm and ironic portraits of the privileged classes of 18th- and 19th-century England. It is universally acknowledged that the eternal theme of Jane Austen’s novels is the choice people make for marriage partners, so is in Pride and Prejudice. The chief business of Mrs. Bennet’s life was to find suitable husbands for her five daughters. Once she heard that Netherfield Park had been let out to a London gentleman named Mr. Bingley. She was so eager to get acquainted with Mr. Bingley and marry one of her daughter with the wealthy young man. Through Mr. Bennet’s effort, the Bennet attended the ball held in Mr. Bingley’s house. Mr. Bingley and Jane, the oldest Bennet daughter, a pretty girl of sweet and gentle disposition, were attracted to each other at once. His friend, Darcy, however, created a bad impression, seeming cold and extremely proud. In particular, he insulted Elizabeth Bennet, a girl of spirit and intelligence and her father’s favorite. He refused to dance with her whenshe was sitting down for lack of a partner. To his own surprise, Mr. Darcy couldn’t help falling love with Elizabeth and tried to please that smart girl. However, because of the bad impression he had left on her, Elizabeth refused and sneered at Darcy many times. Elizabeth turned disgusted with Mr. Darcy. She met the new officer, Mr. Wickham, and convinced Darcy’s insult to him. Darcy, however, found himself deeply in love with Elizabeth, despite her family, which he even advised Bingley not to marry Jane. Mr. Collins arrived at Longhorn, tried to marry one of the Bennets’ girl as amender. As he was refused by Elizabeth, he married Charlotte Lucas. During Elizabeth’s visit to the Collins in Kent, she met Lady Catherine as well as her nephew, Darcy, frequently. To her astonishment, Darcy proposed to her. Because of his participation in driving Bingley away from her sister, his wicked way of treating Wickham, and her own hatred of his pride, his sense of superiority and his selfish disdain, she refused him angrily and determinately. However, after reading the letter from Darcy in which explained his idea of Bingley and Jane and the detailed relationship between him and Wickham, she knew she had misjudged both Darcy and Wickham. Her trip to Pemberley certainly proved her heart to Darcy as Darcy had changed his behavior as well. When shelearned that it was Darcy who played a major role in marrying her eloped little sister, Lydia, to Wickham, there was no doubt that she loved him. They two finally went together.Among those characters in this novel, I hate Mrs. Bennet for she was such a snobbish and foolish woman. Her poor nurse urged her to do something disgusting and foolish. Those seemed to help her loved daughters but in fact, all out of her own vanity. I like Elizabeth most. She was the second daughter in the Bennet family, and the most intelligent and quick-witted, Elizabeth is the protagonist of Pride and Prejudice and one of the most well-known female characters in English literature. Her admirable qualities are numerous—she is lovely, clever, and, in a novel defined by dialogue, she converses as brilliantly as anyone. Her honesty, virtue, and lively wit enable her to rise above the nonsense and bad behavior that pervade her class-bound and often spiteful society. Nevertheless, her sharp tongue and tendency to make hasty judgments often lead her astray; Pride and Prejudice is essentially the story of how she (and her true love, Darcy) overcome all obstacles—including their own personal failings—to find romantic happiness. Elizabeth must not only cope with a hopeless mother, a distant father, two badly behavedyounger siblings, and several snobbish, antagonizing females, she must also overcome her own mistaken impressions of Darcy, which initially led her to reject his proposals of marriage. Her charms were sufficient to keep him interested, fortunately, while she navigates familial and social turmoil. As she gradually came to recognize the nobility of Darcy’s character, she realized the error of her initial prejudice against him. She knew her own mind and dare to say no. While sometimes she behaved in an extreme way because of her over self-esteem. Owing to her sensitive mother, she had to protect herself from insulting. Actually, besides Elizabeth, I took a lot interest in Mr. Darcy since the very beginning though he appeared as a proud, self-important man. Instead, such good-looking gentleman like Mr. Bingley did not attract me very much. In some cases, a man with perfect character would always have a velvet paw. Wickham is a typical example that so many people had been deceived by his appearance. As I like both the two roles, I am happy to see them finally get married.Darcy’s proud is evident. His talks, his expressions, every movement of him seemed to show his pride. But as I turning over the novel, I found a rather proud heart in Elizabeth as well. For a country girl, there would not be a lot to be proud of.However, living in a family of silly sisters and a gossipy mother whose mind was always full of marriage, the smart girl could not express herself. Each word she said seemed to protect herself from others, especially to those who were also proud such as Darcy. It was not always good for her; however, for a person like Darcy who had accepted so many compliments, it was really an attraction. If Elizabeth had not been too proud to show her disdain, she would never have had his eyes on her. And if Darcy had not been as generous and kind as he was written to be virtually, he would have hated Elizabeth instead of being attracted so deeply. However, it was her pride which blinded her from learning the truth. She misunderstood Darcy and seemed to dislike all the things which were involved with him. That might si mply be the meaning of the word “Prejudice”. Elizabeth was intelligent, analyzing the character of Mr. Wickham and Darcy; she soon sensibly realized her mistake and made every attempt she could to save it. She never lost her confidence and courage to fight for her own happiness in spite of her low-birth. Darcy also gave up the chances to marry a noble girl such as Miss. Bingley and his cousin. In this way, even if their characters are so different, their marriage was based on the same mind.Of all the chapters of the novel, I am most interested in Elizabeth’s trip to Pemberley with her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Gardiner. This part itself is developed in a scene of the beauty of Pemberley. The main role, Elizabeth and the Gardiners are all intelligent people. Without the gossip of Mrs. Bennet and the noise of the 3 little sisters, the story goes on with great peace. Their meet with Darcy was both unexpected and expectable. It was unexpected because neither Elizabeth nor Darcy thought of meeting each other in such an agreeable situation. It was expectable because it was such an agreeable situation for them to meet each other again. It was their first meet after Darcy’s proposal. Darcy behaved unbelievably polite and their conversations with Georgiana, Darcy’s sister, went on naturally. It gave a sign that Elizabeth might have changed her hart and indeed, she did. Although the elopement of Lydia and Wickham seemed to disturb them, Darcy at last conquered his pride that he spent considerable time, effort and money on the 2 people he disdained. Another disturbance was Lady Catherine’s visit, but all of these seemed just to quicken their steps to marriage.Jane Austen must have been an idealist which most of the women writers could not avoid being. Charming roles are alwayscharming, disgusting roles are always disgusting. All the pride and prejudice are conquered. Everyone got they deserved to get. She showed us the human’s weakness, pride and prejudice through the novel. It is fragile of human nature which can be easily distorted simply by dissimilation, carelessness or even blindness. Upper-class status and advantages produce the Pride, while poverty and self-esteem against rich produce Prejudice.第四篇:Pride and Prejudice傲慢与偏见英文观后感Pride and PrejudiceAfter reading , I really have lots to complain about. I truly don’t like the people in this novel. But why? I don’t know. Maybe I just don’t understand the realistic society and life and people’s ideas at that time in England, or maybeI am just such a person that always has a prejudice against everybody. The main roles I want to talk about in this novel, of course, are Darcy and Elizabeth.First, I want to say something about Elizabeth. After hearing Darcy’s bad comment on her, she said the words “I will never dance with him” so easily and so unwisely. Here we can know she is arrogant and she can’t stand Darcy’s contempt. But we also can see that she said the words too easily and tooabsolutely without thinking. What a fool! Who can predict what’s going to happen next moment? None! Long after this matter, we all know that she did dance with Darcy. At that time she may already forget the words that she had said before. But I will never forget her arbitrariness That Elizabeth believed Wickham’s words makes me more dislike her. It’s a common sense that one couldn’t be a real good guy, if he can say hurtful things about someone else naturally and directly. But Elizabeth believed. Now that she hated Darcy or you can say she had a prejudice toward Darcy from the very start, she can totally ignore him. However she cared about it very much. Maybe she started to love Darcy the minute she began to have a prejudice towards him. But who knows, and even she herself did not know. Another scene that Darcy showed his love to Elizabeth makes me totally dislike her, especially the words she said that “you are the last man in the world I could ever marry”. She said such irresponsible and hurtful things without any consideration. Actually, she misunderstood everything. I just want to say she is a sad and hateful person. What’s worse, she’s also a gutless person. Finally, she knew Wickham cheated her and Darcy was innocent and Darcy was a perfect gentleman. She found that she had already fallen in love with Darcy deeply. However, she did nothing but wept and regretted. She even didn’t have the courage to express her love to Darcy. As a modern girl, if I was her, I would fly to Darcy to admit my misunderstanding and express my true feelings to him in no time. Happiness is gained by one’s own efforts. If you don’t pursue the happiness, it’s almost impossible to enjoy it. Now what could I say about Elizabeth? I don’t think she would have a happy ending if there is no Darcy. Next, let me talk about Darcy. In the beginning, I like this gentleman. I admire him. When he said that “she is tolerable, but not handsome enough to tempt me, and I am in no humor at present to give consequence to young ladies who are slighted by other men”, I a dmire him very much. He was an arrogant man. And also he had the enough capital to be arrogant. Yes, he was handsome and wealthy. And then some time later, he asked Elizabeth to marry him, for he fell in love with her. Unfortunately, he was severely rejected by Elizabeth at once, but I still like him. He was a lovely man, right? At least, I think so. However, at the very last he showed his love to Elizabeth once again, regardless of the hurtful words that Elizabeth said before. It makes me disappointment. Where’s his pride? I love his pride all the time, but now it disappeared. If I was Darcy, after hearing Elizabeth’s hurtful word, I wouldnever meet her again and I would even forget her name at once. And eventually he was a poor man that had lost his pride. These are all my opinions about Elizabeth and Darcy. By the way, I really can’t understand why the girls were so crazy about officers and how come Darcy’s love to Elizabeth developed so suddenly. is a classic novel that reflect the social reality, so no one in this novel is perfect. The perfect person does not exist in the world. And it gives me the opportunity to nit-pick. As a whole, they were all kind people in the real society. 《傲慢与偏见》英语影评(五篇材料)第一篇:《傲慢与偏见》英语影评Book Review : Pride and PrejudicePride and Prejudice is a very classic book written by Jane Austen, an English novelist whose works of romantic fiction , is one of the most well-known writers in the world. Her realism and biting social commentary has gained her historical importance among scholars and critics.Pride and Prejudice is one of the representative works of Jane Austen, first published in 1813.Though the story's setting is turn-of-the-19th-century, it retains a fascination for modern readers, continuing near the top of lists of most loved books. The novel mainly tells us a love story between Elizabeth who from a poor family and Mr.Darcy who is a rich young man and used to be very proud. It is at a ball that Elizabeth meets Mr.Darcy for the first time and his pride and supercilious behaviors has left Elizabeth a terrible impression. This is the reason why Elizabeth's prejudice towards him at first.Besides this reason , there are two other reasons strengthens Elizabeth's prejudice. The first is that Wickham speaks ill of Mr.Darcy behind his back, which makes she thinks him is unworthy to knowing more about him.The second one is that Elizabeth regards Darcy is the person who separates her sister Jane and Mr.Bingley.But with the plots developing ,Darcy has changed himself and become no longer pride ,he also helps Jane and Bingley's reunion. All these factor change Elizabeth's attitude towards Darcy.Eventually , Elizabeth and Darcy break all the obstacles and become a couple and lead a happy life from then on.From the book, we can see, owingto D arcy’s proud, he offends the girl he loves, and because of the prejudice, Elizabethis failed to see the advantage of Darcy, but fortunately, they didn’t miss each other ultimately.I still remember the first sentence said in the book: “It is a truth well k nown to the world that an unmarried man in possession of a large fortune must be in need of a wife.” Through this sentence I think maybe the writer want to tell us her views and attitudes about love and marriage. So the theme is very clear : Marriage should be based on a real love.the foundation of the marriage at that time is not emotion but possession.Love seems to be a perpetual theme all the time.I love this story, it arouse people’s awareness of the importance of true love in a marriage , also it make me believe the true love. All shall be well, Jack shall have Jill.

Pride and PrejudicePride and Prejudice is a novel by Jane Austin, first published in 1813.The story follows the main character Elizabeth Bennet as she deals with issues of manners, upbringing, morality, education and marriage in the society of the landed gentry of early 19th-century England. In the Pride and Prejudice written by Austin, the heroine Elizabeth deeply loved a person named Darcy.Darcy wanted to marry with Elizabeth, but was refused.Because Darcy's pride is actually a reflection of differences in status.Elizabeth's two different attitudes to Darcy actually reflects the female to personality independent and equal rights pursue. In addition, Austin has also written several of Elizabeth's sisters and his girlfriend's marriages which used to compare with the heroine's ideal marriage.Such a marriage is actually social tragedy hiding under the gorgeous coat.In my view, different from most of the books, Pride and Prejudice is full of women' thinkings, worldview and style of life, rather than form a male's point of view the world. And it fully reflects the style of the times.Austin dose well in shaping the distinctive characters in everyday ordinary things. At the same time, Austin's language is discretion. This innovation makes her work of art has its own characteristics, which I eager to share.第二篇:傲慢与偏见英语书评Pride and PrejudiceIn the Pride and Prejudice written by Austin, the heroine Elizabeth deeply loved by the rich and powerful person named Darcy was born in a small landlord family.Regardless of the statusand wealth gap,Darcy wanted to marry with Elizabeth, but was refused.Elizabeth on Darcy's misunderstandings and prejudices is one reason, but mainly she hates Darcy's pride.Because Darcy's pride is actually a reflection of differences in status. As long as there is the pride, it is impossible to have the same feelings between Darcy and Elizabeth, also not impossible to have the ideal ter, Elizabeth personally observes Darcy's manners and a series of actions, especially Darcy has changed and he is not arrogant any more.So Elizabeth eliminates the misunderstandings and prejudices on Darcy , which concludes the great marriage with Darcy.Elizabeth's two different attitudes to Darcy actually reflects the female to personality independent and equal rights pursue. This is the progressive significance of the characters of Elizabeth. In addition, Austin has also written several of Elizabeth's sisters and his girlfriend's marriages which used to compare with the heroine's ideal marriage. For instance,Charlotte and Collins are living with a comfortable life after marriage, but there is no lovebetween them.Such a marriage is actually social tragedy hiding under the gorgeous coat.Although Pride and Prejudice which the theme is narrow , dull and lack of plot twists and turns of rich is good at depicting the characters' psychological and social reality of height.Different from most of the books, Pride and Prejudice is full of women' thinkings, worldview and style of life, rather than form a male's point of view the world. And it fully reflects the style of the times.Austin dose well in shaping the distinctive characters in everyday ordinary things. Not only the worthy of recognition characters like Elizabeth and Darcy is written in real and moving, but also the sarcastic characters like Wickham and Collins do.At the same time, Austin's language isdiscretion. She is fastidious in the dialogue art humorously with the satire and contrasts the characteristics of the character in the humorous language. This innovation makes her work of art has its own characteristics.第三篇:傲慢与偏见书评A Book Review of Pride and PrejudiceWritten by Jane Austen and set at the background of leisurely countryside life in 18th and19th century, Pride and Prejudice is a classical English novel which flows in the river of human wisdom.Though it was written by an advanced female pioneer, inevitably, its defects can’t be concealedIt was the first time to compose a n ovel in female’s angle at that era and that enriched English literature in a fresh way.The elaborate description of local customs and practices also facilitates its vividness and variety. Both its plot and language are fine designed and corrected repetitively. The novel draws a detailed picture of four romantic love stories and eventually has a happy ending though they might be misunderstood by pride, prejudice, reserve or statues. It is acknowledged commonly that this novel is the start of a new writing style. The most controversial issue about this book is the artificial writing style and it was criticized by many writers and academicians. The plain progress, narrow theme and the limitation of the countryside life are the main The impression of Pride and Prejudice 【2 】The book《 Pride and Prejudice》 is written by Jane Austen ,a famous English writer .I still remember the first sentence in this book .It reads :"It is a truth well known to all the world that an unmarried man in possession of a large fortune must in need of a wife ." The undertone is very clear : the foundation of the marriage at that time is not emotion but possession. Love seems to be a perpetual theme all the time .And the main story in the book Pride and Prejudice is not a exception .The writer tells us her views and attitudes about love and marriage in this book. The novel mainly tells us a love story between Elizabath and Mr. Darcy. It is at a ball that Elizabeth meets Mr. Darcy for the first time and his pride and supercilious behaviors has left Elizabeth a terrible impression . This is the reason why Elizabeth's prejudice towards him begins .Besides this reason ,there are two other incidents strengthens Elizabeth's prejudice .The first is that Wickham speaks ill of Mr.Darcy, which makes Elizabeth thinks him is unworthy to making acquaince of.The second is that Elizabeth regards Darcy is the person who separates her sister Jane and Mr. Bingley. But with the plots developing ,Darcy has changed himself and become no longer pride,he also helps Jane and Bingley's reunion. All these factor change Elizabeth'sattitude towards Darcy.Eventually , Elizabeth and Darcy become a couple and lead a happy life from then on.After reading this novel, I realize the author—Jane Austen’s attitudes and views towards love and marriage: is unpractical to get married just for property, wealth and social status while would it be without caring about these elements. Marriage should be based on a real love and it is not a game! You can not just enjoy it without prudent considerations. There is a gap which is called pride and prejudice between Elizabeth and Darcy , for they possess different society status and amount of property. But the ending which the author arranges that Elizabethand Darcy break all the obstacles and become a love couple suggests that true do exist no matter how different the background ,the status is .And I think this book will arouse people’s awareness of the importance of true love in a marriage.。

傲慢与偏见英文影评People always think that Austen was an expert at telling love stories. Only the eldest son had the privilege of inheriting his father’s possessions. In modern society, although the marriages of economic needs have decreased rapidly, the concept of “money determines everything”is still rooted in some people’s mind. A lot of parents try hard to interfere their children’s marriages. Education background, possessions, jobs remains the main reason that may influence one’s marriage. Marry for money is still a big problem in our society. Today, her book still can be the guide telling us the economic relationships both at her time and in modern time.人们总是认为奥斯丁是讲爱情故事的专家。

《傲慢与偏见》英文读后感《傲慢与偏见》读后感英文【一】Pride and Prejudice is my favorite novel, which impresses me for a long time. And Elisabeths antipathy made Darcy realize his shortcomings. He was not angry about Elisabeths censure, but also he changed his previous proud attitude. During Elisabeths travel in Darcys manor. At last it end with their marriage.Taking the daily life as its material, this story reflected the life and love in a conservative你 and blockingEngland town. It reflected the authors view about marriage that it is fault to marry for property, money and status and it is also foolish to take these elements into account. In fact Darcys pride manifested the gap between their statuses. Since his pride existed, there is no ideal marriage between Elisabeth and Darcy. From the different attitudes from Darcys two proposals, it reflected the feminine pursuit of personality independence and right equality, which is a progressive character from the image of Elisabeth.《傲慢与偏见》读后感英文【二】Pride and prejudice is the famous British writer Jane Austen masterpiece, the works in daily life for material, the romantic and reality love story.Works of vivid reflects the late eighteenth to well into the nineteenth century in the conservative and block state of the British town life and ways of the world. In my opinion, Elizabeth is worthy of praise. In the way of the pursuit of love, be sure to a firm belief, not for money, fame, wealth, or any other cause carelessly decided to, want to hold to find true love.If the other party to some of the defect is himself cant stand, but also what cant change it, you should give up the resolute choice; Of course should also to cherish each other, not because of some of the others words, they change their decision, happiness to yourself to the business. Book review of “Pride and Prejudice”"Pride and Prejudice" is a famous novel written by the British writer Jane Austen. It is mainly about a marriage story that Darcy who is considered of very pride and Lizzy has prejudice against him at the beginning overcame a variety of misunderstandings and difficulties. At the same time, the novel also portrays beautiful scenery and traditional custom in eighteenth Century England. In this novel, the words of Characters sometimes sound humorous and sometimes rational deep. The plots of the story are also so ups and downs that the readers are caught in them, taste joys and sorrows of the characters. Then, I mainly analyze the different marriages of eight characters in the novel to feel the author's view on love and marriage.1.Charlotte and CollinsCharlotte, one of Lizzy’s close friends, finally married Reverend Collins. Lizzy felt confused and also tried to persuade her friends because Collins wanted to propose to Lizzy just a few days ago. There is no love between them: for Collins, a wife just means the priest’s house in a certain area will has a mistress, and this is Mrs. Catherine wants him to do; for Charlotte, she married to a steady income personjust for pursuing a steady life of the future days. Certainly, Lizzy always thought that there can be no happiness of them. However, Lizzie suddenly found their fade life may also be regarded as a kind of happiness, when she visited to Charlotte. In my opinion, this is marriage with no love based, appeared firstly in the novel, is the most disagreed marriage mode to the author.2. Lydia and WickhamWickham is so handsome and good at pleasing people that Lizzie even also had feelings for him at start. Actually, he is exaggerated and avaricious, and has a life full of luxury and waste. Lydia, the favorite girl to mother, is a youngest daughter of Bennet’s family. She loves communication, and meets a lot of youngmilitiamen stationed in Meriton. Certainly, Wickham is also included. She istoo young to dare, and never care others' tattle and prate about the elopement withWickham. It seems to be an certain event reflected at their personalities. People all hold the contemptuous attitude to their marriage, in addition to her mother. But, it is really a surprise to everyone that the marriage comes such fast. Lydia fall in love, forgotten about herself, lacked of intelligence; and Wickham is driven by money even he is treacherous and cunning. But the author seems to more appreciate this marriage than the previous one, probably because this marriage is based from love to a certain extent.3. Bingley and JaneThe marriage of Bentley and Jane earns not easily. They fall in love at first sight in the first party. But Bentley is not confident of this love, becauseof Jane's introverted temperament which emotions are not exposed on the face. Then, Bentley, with no independent, is persuaded by Darcy and his sisters to intend to put down this feeling. After Bentley left Netherfield, Jane went to London to hope to meet him in there. But she meets his sister instead. Miss Bentley visits to her later, but do not talk the news to Bentley about the meet and never plans to tell him. Jane feels very sad after she comes back. Jane keeps silence to others, may because she has the responsibility of the eldest in family. One day after thewinter, neighbors heard Bentley will go back to Netherfield soon. It’s certainly good news to Jane, because she will be related to it largely. When Lizzy told herabout it, Jane strongly denies and hides, but was very happy and excitedinwardly. Bentley goes to Longbourn immediately after he comes to Netherfield. The feeling is firmed on this this Bennett’s visit, although another help him to make this decision.Bentley is a very modest, acclaimed man whose personality lacks opinions and his decisions are always influenced by other people. Jane often ascribes all the people and things to the good side because of her kind-hearted and meekness. But, she is not so clever and intelligent, and lack the emotion filled with enthusiasm. Their marriage is easily interrupted by external factors, although It has the true love. The author speaks highly of this marriage that she may not be going to pursue.4. Lizzy and DarcyThey have a marriage capable of evoking praises and tears. It not only breaks the senses of hierarchy, but also is a typical moving love story with path winds along mountain ridges. By all counts, the author tends to this kind of marriage which let them fall in love after knowing each other increasingly.Darcy is mature, wisdom and full of sympathy, but doesn't have the talent of conversing easily with strangers because of his family education and personal character. Then, it let him hardly make a good first impression to others, such as mentioned in the novel, all the people in Netherfield think Darcy is a pride person. The truth will always be covering under surface. Lizzy conceives prejudices to Darcy at the beginning and against him everywhere, although she is a smart and well observing girl. What unexpected is Darcy slow begins to love Lizzy, no other than because of her incoordination. Influenced by the social values, Darcy strenuously suppresses this feeling. Before long, he leaves Netherfield.Darcy may be sure he will never meet Lizzy. Accidentally, they finally meet each other at Hednesford. At this moment, Darcy can’t control his love at all. He confidently makes a proposal of marriage, while Lizzy refuses completely. After knowing her attitude to himself, Darcy writes a long letter to her to explain the reason to persuade Bingley to leave and the conflict with Wickham. Lizzy is shocked when she has read the letter and starts slow to generate favorable impression. Darcy begin to change his pride character after being refused, as well. Then, Darcy does Bennet some great services, such as he gives money to Wickham to ask him to marry Lydia and encourages Bingley to propose to Jane. Lizzy appreciates him too much after kowning everything from her aunt. At this time, love already takes root among them. After going to Longbourn to hope Lizzy make a promise not marrying Darcy, Mrs. Catherine finds her nephew to retell Lizzy’s words and ask him to make the samepromise. But her words produce a contrary effects that Darcy retrieve the confidence to propose. It is no doubt to success this time.5. ConclusionIt represents four different match types, in the novel, of the four marriages between eight characters. The author expresses the most ideal match type to readers by comparing. She wishes both parties to a marriage will be intelligent and inner-directed and decide whether or not to be together each other after understanding gradually. It is a rarely good thought of author in that social background. The love story of Lizzy and Darcy has already spread all over the world. But, limited by the same background, the story writer describes can’t break away from the high society in England. After all, Darcy is a rich man whose annual income beyond 10 thousand and has more rights of free choice than average person. So, in my opinion, this love is worth praising, but is not typical.《傲慢与偏见》书评《傲慢与偏见》是一部由英国女作家奥斯丁所写的著名小说。

傲慢与偏见英文读后感(15篇) 傲慢与偏见英文读后感第1篇:There is no doubt that Pride and Prejudice is well-known, the book that is written by Jane Austen has an influence on the culture。

As far as I’m concerned ,the ending of the fiction is wonderful,Elizabeth and Darcy won their happiness, leading a colourful life 。

First of all, let’s learn about the author who is Jane Austen 。

She was unmarried all her life。

She was born in a mid-class family and was brought up in a fortable environment with harmonious surroundings,so there’s not too many conflicts in her sight neither in her novel。

In Pride and Prejudice she talked different ideas about love and marriage through different characters。

Jane Austen disclosed mid-class young ladies’different ideas of marriage and love through describing the different ways in which the Bennet girls doing with their marriage problems, and this undoubtedly shows the writer’s idea about love and marriage: it’s wrong to get married just for property, wealth and status while neither would it be without caring about those elements。

《傲慢与偏见》英文读后感【一】Many people simply regard Pride and Prejudice as a love story, but in my opinion, this book is an illustration of the society at that time. The family of gentleman in the co untryside is Jane Austen’s favourite topic. But this little topic can reflect big problems. It concludes the stratum situation and economic relationships in Britain in her century. You can find these from the very beginning of this book. The first sentence in this book is impressive. It reads: “It is a truth well known to all the world that an unmarried man inpossession of a large fortune must be in need of a wife”. The undertone is very clear: the foundation of the marriage at that time is not emotion but possession.People always think that Austen was an expert at telling love stories. In fact, the marriage in her book is not the result of love, but the result of economic needs. I think the depth of Pride and Prejudice is the reason that makes this book prominent and classic. Today, her book still can be the guide telling us the economic relationships both at her time and in modern time.《傲慢与偏见》英文读后感【二】I’m forced to read this novel at the beginning, but I can’t wait to finish it subsequently."It is a truth universally acknowledges that a single man in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a wife." This is just as Leo Tolstoy’s famous starting in 《Anna Karenina》: "All happy families resemble one another, each unhappy family is unhappy in its own way". To begin with such a design, Jane Austen has her deep meaning. Marriage and money are inseparable. The undertone is very clear: the foundation of the marriage at that time is not emotion but possession. The author does not deny this. So she uses typical Bennets to prove this truth. The story takes place in the class-conscious England of the late 18th century. The five Bennet sisters--including strong-willed Elizabeth and young Lydia--have all been raised by their mother with one purpose in life: finding a wealthy husband. So when awealthy bachelor shows up in their lives, the whole family is turned upside-down. But when Elizabeth meets up with the handsome but snobbish Mr. Darcy, the battle of the sexes is joined. As we all know, Austen, in this novel, through the five Bennet daughter s’ attitude towards love and marriage, shows the relationship between mental feelings, such as love, and material possessions , which also reflects the author''s attitude: Marry for the sake of property, money or status is wrong; marry but do not take into account the above factors is foolish. As a result, she not only opposed to marry for the purpose of money, but also opposed to treat marriage as child''s play. She stressed the importance of an ideal marriage. But in modern society, although the marriages of economic needs have decreased rapidly, the concept of “money determines everything” is still rooted in some people’s mind. Then let’s come to talk about the meaningful topic of this love story: 《Pride And Prejudice》Pride and prejudice are our common problems and weaknesses. In fact, everyone is very easy to be driven by his own subjective impression and thus easy to make incorrect comments on others, and then led to misunderstand between people. One’s first impression can affect a lot of things for su re, but it doesn’t mean it couldn’t be changed. The deeper you get to understand someone, the more objective points you will have on him or her. The changing of Elizabeth’s point of view towards Darcy just proved this perfectly: no pride, no prejudice, and these two married just because they love each other, just because they need each other instead of need each other’s possessions. Austen is smart, because Elizabeth got beauty and intelligencewhile Darcy is handsome and rich. I even wonder if such a perfect marriage could take place in modern society.。

《傲慢与偏见》英文书评〔5篇模版〕第一篇:《傲慢与偏见》英文书评The comment of "Pride and prejudice"Pride and Prejudice is a novel written by the famous English writer, Jane Austen, who was the sixth children in a family of seven and was born in the village of steventon in Hampshire in 1775 and died of Addison’s disease in 1817.Pride and Prejudice is a love story, mainly tells the love between Elizabeth and Darcy. It divided into 2 volumes and is composed of 42 chapters altogether. The major characters are Mr. Darcy, A rich and proud young man. Elizabeth, the second eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bennet. Mr. Bingley , A rich young bachelor. Jane, the first daughter of Mr. and Mrs.Bennet. The story begin with Bingley’s arrival. One day when Mrs.Bennet hear Bingley has taken Netherfield, a house near her’s. She is so happy and arranged one of her five daughters marriage with him. At a ball, luckly, Bingley and Jane fall in love at the first sight. Darcy, a friend of Bingley’s , was attracted to Elizabeth, a lively and spirited girl. But Darcy greatly offends her by his supercilious behavior and this dislike is increased by Wickham, a dashing young militia officer of the unjust treatment he has met with at Darcy's hands. One day when Darcy and Bingley’s two sisters disgusted with the vulgarity of Mrs. Bennet and her two youngest daughters, effectively separated Bingley and Jane. Meanwhile, Collins, a cousin of Mr. and Mrs. Bennet, married charlotte, a friend of Elizabeth’s, for Elizabeth’s refuse to marry him. But One day Darcy send Elizabeth a letter, in which he justifies the separation of his friend Bingley and Jane and make it clear that Wickham is. So Elizabeth changed her opinions and ideas toward him. Once when Elizabeth visited her uncle and aunt in the north of England, she met Darcy thereand witnessed his changes through series of behaviors, no longer pride and become gentle and attentive, all these made their marriage arranged, and they also suitably provided for Bingley and Jane’s reunited and engaged. The story ends with both their happy marriages.Sir Walter Scott 评论READ again, and for the third time at least, Miss Austen's very finely written novel of "Pride and Prejudice." That young lady has a talent for describing the involvements and feelings and characters of ordinary life which is to me the most wonderful I ever met with. The big bow-wow strain I can do myself like any now going; but the exquisite touch, which renders ordinary commonplace things and characters interesting, from the truth of the description and the sentiment, is denied to me.—From "The Journal of Sir Walter Scott," March, 1826.We bestow no mean compliment upon the author of "Emma" when we say that keeping close to common incidents, and to such characters as occupy the ordinary walks of life, she has produced sketches of such spirit and originality that we never miss the excitation which depends upon a narrative of uncommon events, arising from the consideration of minds, manners, and sentiments, greatly above our own. In this class she stands almost alone; for the scenes of Miss Edgeworth are laid in higher life, varied by more romantic incident, and by her remarkable power of embodying and illustrating national character. But the author of "Emma" confines herself chiefly to the middling classes of society; her most distinguished characters do not rise greatly above well-bred country gentlemen and ladies; and those which are sketched with most originality and precision, belong to a class rather below that standard. The narrative of all her novels is composed of such common occurrences as may have fallen under the observation of most folks; and her dramatis person? conduct themselves upon the motives and principles which the readers may recognize as rulingtheir own, and that of most of their own acquaintances.—From "The Quarterly Review," October, 1815.Lord Macaulay 评论SHAKESPEARE has had neither equal nor second. But among the writers who, in the point which we have noticed, have approached nearest to the manner of the great master we have no hesitation in placing Jane Austen, a woman of whom England is justly proud. She has given us a multitude of characters, all, in a certain sense, commonplace, all such as we meet every day. Yet they are all as perfectly discriminated from each other as if they were the most eccentric of human beings. There are, for example, four clergymen, none of whom we should be surprised to find in any parsonage in the kingdom —Mr. Edward Ferrars, Mr. Henry Tilney, Mr. Edmund Bertram, and Mr. Elton. They are all specimens of the upper part of the middle class. They have all been liberally educated. They all lie under the restraints of the same sacred profession. They are all young. They are all in love. Not one of them has any hobby-horse, to use the phrase of Sterne. Not one has a ruling passion, such as we read of in Pope. Who would not have expected them to be insipid likenesses of each other? No such thing. Harpagon is not more unlike to Jourdain, Joseph Surface is not more unlike to Sir LuciusO'Trigger, than every one of Miss Austen's young divines to all his reverend brethren. And almost all this is done by touches so delicate that they elude analysis, that they defy the powers of description, and that we know them to exist only by the general effect to which they have contributed.—From essay on "Madame D'Arblay," 1843.My point of view towards the masterpiece of Jane Austen’s is that this novel reflects the English human sentiment of the end of 18th century and the early of 19th century under the circumstance of conservative, and tells us the difference ways and attitudes to marriage of Mr. and Mrs. Bennet’s five daughters’. Thereby reveal the author herself attitude towardsmarriage, that is love and marriage based on money, property and social status is not perfect, but it is also stupid Without considering all of these. There, the author emphasize the importance of ideal marriage, meanwhile, to be opposed to love & marriage based on money or property and to be opposed to people’s laugh love & marriage off. The author takes the affection/love as the cornerstone of ideal marriage between male and female. Elizabeth as the leading character in this novel, was born in the family of squireen’s, and is loved by Darcy. Darcy propose marriage to her in spite of difference in the possession of property and social status, but is refused by Elizabeth for his pride , the novel demonstrate that if the pride of Darcy’s existed , there will be no love and also happy marriage between Elizabeth and he, it is really nice that Elizabeth witness the changes of Darcy’s through series of behavior in the following days. viewing that he is no longer pride and then eliminating her prejudice to him, finally engaged with him and leading a happy marriage. The author described that female is in pursuit of independent personality and equal right through several different attitudes of Elizabeth for Darcy’s propose marriage. Meanwhile, demonstrate Elizabeth’s independent understanding for a happy marriage. In this article, the writer described several unperfect marriages of Elizabeth’s sisters and close friends, aimed at making a sharp contrast with Elizabeth’s beatific marriage and revealed that marriage without love but base on social status and property actually is a kind of public tragedies. Humorous, ironical, polished language and real storyline is also occurred in this article.第二篇:英文书评傲慢与偏见 Love actuallyPride and Prejudice is a masterpiece written by a British writer named Jane Austen. In the book, she expressed the relationship between love and marriage in a humorous way and showed different attitudes toward marriageby depicting several young women of different descent, economic position and horizon of knowledge. The story talks about four marriages which occurred in Britain in the 19th century. And the most important among them are protagonists Elizabeth and Darcy. Elizabeth is pretty and smart. As for love and marriage, she has her own strong principle that she won't be confused by money and status but to insist on looking for true love. While Darcy is a very proud man who seems to always feel superior. Therefore, she has a prejudice against him. Pride and prejudice lead to the unpleasent and misunderstanding between them. However, after clarification of various matters , they gradually fall in love and conclude the happy marriage. In the book, Jane clearly explained that it is wrong to get married for the property, money and status. She emphasized theimportant of the ideal marriage and regarded men and women's emotions as the foundation stone. As far as I am concerned, I have learned two things from the book,o n the one hand, pride and prejudice are very common weakness among us, therefore, everyone can easily driven by their own subjective feelings and misunderstanding of others. Only in-depth understanding can we know a person's inner world. On the other hand, Elizabeth insists on her emotions and isn't confused by money and status, pursues her love bravely. Although we have different pursuits, I hope I can carry on like her. After all, uphold the dream is a happy thing.第三篇:傲慢与偏见英文书评 Pride and PrejudiceⅠ.Reading experience:I watch the movie Pride and Prejudice during last winter vocation, and I found it very attractive. She lived in the villages throughout her life. Although there were 2 suitors, she never married. She finished her first novel when she was only 21 years old. This work’s name was First Impressions (After amending, it had a new name: Pride and Prejudice).Ⅳ.ThoughtsMy point of view towards the masterpiece of Jane Austen’s is that this novel reflects the English human sentiment of the end of 18thcentury and the early of 19th century under the circumstance of conservative, and tells us the difference ways and attitudes to marriage of Mr. and Mrs. Bennet’s five daughters’. They look down every man while they are eager for a man’s love in their hearts. Some like Jane, they are kind and beautiful, but they are also reserved and feminine。

The comment of "Pride and prejudice"Pride and Prejudice is a novel written by the famous English writer, Jane Austen, who was the sixth children in a family of seven and was born in the village of steventon in Hampshire in 1775 an d died of Addison’s disease in 1817.Pride and Prejudice is a love story, mainly tells the love between Elizabeth and Darcy. It divided into 2 volumes and is composed of 42 chapters altogether. The major characters are Mr. Darcy, A rich and proud young man. Elizabeth, the second eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bennet. One day when Mrs.Bennet hear Bingley has taken Netherfiel d, a house near her’s. But One day Darcy send Elizab eth a letter, in which he justifies the separation of his friend Bingley and Jane and make it clear that Wickham is. So Elizabeth changed her opinions and ideas toward him. But the author of "Emma" confines herself chiefly to the middling classes of society; her most distinguished characters do not rise greatly above well-bredcountry gentlemen and ladies; and those which are sketched with most originality and precision, belong to a class rather below that standard. The narrative of all her novels is composed of such common occurrences as may have fallen under the observation of most folks; and her dramatis personæ conduct themselves upon the motives and principles which the readers may recognize as ruling their own, and that of most of their own acquaintances.—From "The Quarterly Review," October, 1815.Lord Macaulay 评论SHAKESPEARE has had neither equal nor second. There are, for example, four clergymen, none of whom we should be surprised to find in any parsonage in the kingdom—Mr. Harpagon is not more unlike to Jourdain, Joseph Surface is not more unlike to Sir Lucius O'Trigger, than every one of Miss Austen's young divines to all his reverend brethren. Thereby reveal the author herself attitude towards marriage, that is love and marriage based on money, property and social status is not perfect, but it is also stupid Without considering all of these.
