名词whistle的一个主要意思就是警哨、警笛, 动词短语blow the whistle(吹哨子)沿袭下 来的意义就表示“告密,揭发,检举(不正 当行为)”,是个俚语。由此形成的一个名 词“告发”就是whistleblowing,“告密者” 就是whistleblower。
