Which of the following is true according to the passage?4.

31.The word "inhospitable"(L1,P2) most probably means ______.A unpleasantB tiringC beneficialD attractive意思:A 使人不愉快的 B 令人疲劳的 C 有利的 D 有吸引力的对应的句子:it's easy to see that freezing your food, or packing it in salt, would make it inhospitable to the microbes which would otherwise cause it to spoil.首先,make it inhospitable to the microbes, 所以这个inhospitable是对microbes(微生物)而言的,it一般指前面出现的过名词,这里也就是food,通过前文freezing your food, or pack it in salt,可以看出这是保存事物的方法,那么必然要消灭microbes,所以对microbes 来说,是不好的。

Others perceive essays as tools for persuasion, where arguments are crafted to sway opinions and provoke critical thinking. Additionally, essays are revered for their ability to foster intellectual growth, encouraging writers to delve into research, analyze information, and construct coherent arguments that resonate with readers. To exemplify the significance of essays, let us consider a case study involving a student at Zhejiang Province University. Jing, a diligent undergraduate majoring in English literature, is tasked with writing an essay on the impact of technology on modern communication. Through meticulous research and thoughtful analysis, Jing explores the evolution of communication technologies, from the advent of the telegraph to the era of social media. By incorporatingreal-life examples and expert opinions, Jing crafts a compelling narrative that highlights the transformative power of technology in shaping interpersonal relationships and societal dynamics. In critically evaluating the merits and drawbacks of essay writing, we must acknowledge its inherent strengths and limitations. Essays offer a platform for individuals to express their creativity, hone their analytical skills, and engage in intellectual discourse. They enable writers to delve into complex topics, present well-reasoned arguments, and contribute to knowledge dissemination. However, essays can also be daunting for some, requiring extensive research, meticulous planning, and refined writing skills. The pressure to meet academic standards and convey ideas effectively can be overwhelming, leading to stress and anxiety for many students.Looking ahead, the future implications of essay writing at Zhejiang Province University are profound. As technology continues to reshape the landscape of education, digital platforms offer new avenues for students to showcase their writing prowess and engage with global audiences. By embracing multimedia tools, collaborative platforms, and interactive formats, students can elevate their essays to new heights, reaching a wider audience and fostering cross-cultural dialogue. Moreover, educators can leverage artificial intelligence and machinelearning algorithms to provide personalized feedback, enhance writing skills, and cultivate a culture of continuous improvement. In conclusion, the art of essay writing at Zhejiang Province University embodies a harmonious blend of creativity, critical thinking, and communication skills. By delving into historical contexts, diverse perspectives, case studies, critical evaluations, and future implications, students can refine their writing abilities, broaden their intellectual horizons, and contribute meaningfully to academic discourse. As we navigate the intricate terrain of essay writing, let us embrace the challenges and opportunities it presents, striving for excellence in every word penned and every idea articulated.。
