Step 1: (25minutes)
1. Guess: tell who they are
Teacher shows the pictures and students guess who they are.
Ask students to find at least one common point among these people. 2. Discuss: why they are famous/successful
Ask students: if success equals money or power or social status, yes or no? and why?
Why are these people famous or successful?
Show some pictures and ask students what they think about them.
3. Group discussion: what does success mean to you?
Step 2 Listening & Talking (55 minutes)
1. Listening
Success can be reached in different ways by people in different
careers. Bill Gates began at age 13 to 1)_______ computers. His vision for personal computing has been central to the success of Microsoft Corporation, the company he 2)_______ with his childhood friend in 1975.
The former CEO of General Electric, Jack Welch, is a business legend. A famous quote by Mr. Welch is, “Change before you have to.”
