高一英语人教版必修二Unit3课文内容第一篇:高一英语人教版必修二Unit 3 课文内容Unit 3 WHO AM I?Over time I have been changed quite a lot.I began as a calculating machine in France in 1642.Although I was young I could simplify difficult sums.I developed very slowly and it took nearly two hundred years before I was built as an analytical machine by Charles Babbage. After I was programmed by an operator who used cards with holes, I could “think” logically and produce an answer quicker than any person. At that time it was considered a technological revolution and the start of my “artificial intelligence”.In 1936 my real father, Alan Turing, wrote a book about how I could be made to work as a “universal machine” to solve any d ifficult mathematical problem. From then on, I grew rapidly both in size and in brainpower.By the 1940s I had grown as large as a room, and I wondered if I would grow any larger. However, this reality also worried my designers. As time went by, I was made smaller.First as a PC(personal computer)and then as a laptop, I have been used in offices and homes since the 1970s.These changes only became possible as my memory improved.First it was stored in tubes, then on transistors and later on very small chips. As a result I totally changed my shape. As I have grown older I have also grown smaller.Over time my memory has developed so much that, like an elephant, I never forget anything I have been told! And my memory became so large that even I couldn’t believe it!But I was always so lonely standing there by myself, until in the early 1960s they gave me a family connected by a network.I was able to share my knowledge with others throughthe World Wide Web.Since the 1970s many new applications have been found for me.I have become very important in communication, finance and trade.I have also been put into robots and used to make mobile phones as well as help with medical operations.I have even been put into space rockets and sent to explore the Moon and Mars.Anyhow, my goal is to provide humans with a life of high quality.I am now truly filled with happiness that I am a devoted friend and helper of the human race!ANDY-THE ANDROIDI’m part of an android football team.About once a year we are allowed to get together to play a game of football.I’m as big as a human. In fact, I look like one too.On the football team I’m a striker so I have to be able to run very fast.My computer chips help me to move and think like a human. For example, I have learned to signal to my teammates in computer language to give me the ball when I am open and have a good shot for a goal.My first football competition was in Nagoya, Japan several years st year our team went to Seattle, Washington in the USA.We won second place.Personally,I think the team that won first place cheated. They had developeda new type of program just before the competition. So we need to encourage our programmer to improve our intelligence too.We are determined to create an even better system. In a way our programmer is like our coach. She programs us with all the possible moves she has seen while watching human games. Then she prepares reliable moves to use if a new situation arises. In this way I can make up new moves using my “artificial intelligence”.I would really like to pla y against a human team, for I have been programmed to act just like them. After all, with the help of my electronic brain which never forgets anything, using my intelligence is what I’m all about!第二篇:高一英语必修二 unit3 教案ReadingTeaching goals1.Target languagea.Important words and expressionscalculator, notebook, common, calculate, analytical, technological, revolution, universal, mathematical, simple, simple-minded, artificial intelligence, anyway, totally, network, truly b.Sentences1)My real father was Alan Turing, who in 1936 wrote a book to describe how computers could be made to work, and built a “universal machine” to solve any mathematical problem.P18 2)As the years have gone by, I have been made smaller and smaller.P183)I became small and thin but I got cleverer and cleverer, quicker and quicker.P18 4)And my memory became so large that I couldn't believe it!P18 2.Ability goalsEnable the students to grasp the progress of computers.3.Learning ability goalsEnable the students to state the progress in chronology order.Teaching important pointsTry to finish the exercises of Comprehending.Teaching difficult pointsEnable the students to learn how to grasp the structure of the text.Teaching methodsa.Listening method.b.Skimming method.c.Task-based method.Teaching aidsA recorder and a computer.Teaching procedures & waysStep I Revision1.Greetings.2.Ask students the spelling and meaning of some important words and phrases in the text.Step II Pre-reading T: Boys and girls, from the last lessons Speaking and Listening, we have learnt something about computers. Now, please look at the screen and discuss these questions with your partner. Then I'll ask some students to report your work. Are you clear? There are countless articles telling us how the Internet has made our lives more convenient. We no longer have to wait in line or carry cash around when we go shopping. We can get the most updated information from large databases. We can download software, documents, and images whenever we need them. She also joined an online group where she could talk about her problems and get support and advice from others. She realised that one of the greatest benefits of the Internet was its ability to remove the distance that usually exists between people. She was so inspired by the people she met online that she decided to start an IT club to teach older people how to use computers and the Internet. She and her friends now organise events and collect money to pay for private teachers. Many people have been helped by the club. A59-year-old man learnt how to apply for work online and found a great job. Now that he works and can take care of himself, his daughter has time to study at university. A 61-year-old woman who was living alone has started a small online company together with two friends. She nolonger feels lonely, and her company has become quite successful.Jan has started taking online classes to learn more about how to use the Internet to make society better. She believes that it is highly important to bridge the digital divide and make sure that everyone has access to the Internet and knows how to use new technology. Her next goal is to start a charity website to raise money for children in poor countries.Jan’s life has been greatly improved by the Internet. “When you go through tough times, you meet others who are facing similar challenges,” Jan says. “Thinking about other people’s situations inspired me to offer help.”Readinq for WritinqWrite a blog post1 Read the blog post and answer the questions.Today I thought I’d blog abou t a question that has been asked many times--how do you stay safe online and avoid bad experiences on the Internet? Don’t post comments or click on a nytbing. Second, protect your privacy. Don’t give out your address or phone number.Someone might use the information to steal your identity.Identity theft is a common and serious problem. Third, be polite. Being online is no excuse for beeing rude, and you don’t want to become a target for a troll or cyberbully. A troll is a person who posts comments or questions in order to stir up trouble online. Trolls often use several false names so that they can stay on a site . A cyber bbully uses the Internet to be mean to others. Unit 3 WHO AM I?Over time I have been changed quite a lot. I began as a calculating machine in France in 1642. Although I was young I could simplify difficult sums. I developed very slowly and it took nearlytwo hundred years before I was built as an analytical machine by Charles Babbage. After I was programmed by an operator who used cards with holes, I could “think” logically and produce an answer quicker than any person. At that time it was considered a technological revolution and the start of my “artificial intelligence”. In 1936 my real father, Alan Turing, wrote a book about how I could be made to work as a “universal machine”to solve any difficult mathematical problem. From then on, I grew rapidly both in size and in brainpower. By the 1940s I had grown as large asa room, and I wondered if I would grow any larger. However, this reality also worried my designers. As time went by, I was made smaller. First as a PC(personal computer) and then as a laptop, I have been used in offices and homes since the 1970s.These changes only became possible as my memory improved. First it was stored in tubes, then on transistors and later on very small chips. As a result I totally changed my shape. As I have grown older I have also grown smaller. Over time my memory has developed so much that, like an elephant, I never forget anything I have been told! And my memory became so large that even I couldn’t believe it! But I was always so lonely standing there by myself, until in the early 1960sthey gave me a family connected by a network. I was able to share my knowledge with others through the World Wide Web.Since the 1970s many new applications have been found for me. I have become very importantin communication, finance and trade. I have also been put into robots and used to make mobile phones as well as help with medical operations. I have even been put into space rockets and sentto explore the Moon and Mars. Anyhow, my goal is to provide humans with a life of high quality. Iam now truly filled with happiness that I am a devoted friend and helper of the human race!ANDY-THE ANDROIDI’m part of an android football team. About once a year we are allowed to get together to play a game of football. I’m as big as a human. In fact, I look like one too. On the football team I’m a striker so I have to be able to run very fast. My computer chips help me to move and think like a human. For example, I have learned to signal to my teammates in computer language to give methe ball when I am open and have a good shot for a goal.My first football competition was in Nagoya, Japan several years ago. Last year our team wentto Seattle, Washington in the USA. We won second place. Personally, I think the team that wonfirst place cheated. They had developed a new type of program just before the competition. So we need to encourage our programmer to improve our intelligence too. We are determined to create an even better system. In a way our programmer is like our coach. She programs us with all the possible moves she has seen while watching human games. Then she prepares reliable moves to use if a new situation arises. In this way I can make up new moves using my “artificial intelligence”. I would really like to play against a human team, for I have been programmed to act just like them. After all, with the help of my electronic brain which never forgets anything, usingmy intelligence is what I’m all about!。

Unit 3 THE INTERNETSTRONGER TOGETHER: HOW WE HAVE BEEN CHANGED BY THE INTERNETMuch has been written about the wonders of the World Wide Web. There are countless articles telling us how the Internet has made our life more convenient. We no longer have to wait in line or carry cash around when we go shopping. We can get the most updated information from large databases. We can download software, documents, and images whenever we need them. But the Internet has done much more for people than simply make life more convenient. People’s lives have been changed by online communities and social networks.Jan Tchamani, an English teacher in Birmingham, UK, suddenlydeveloped a serious illness and had to quit her job. At age 50. she found herself out of work and stuck at home with only her computer to keep her company. After a while, she discovered that surfing the Internet could help her feel less lonely and bored. She could listen to music, watch films, play games, and explore the world. She also joined an online group where she could talk about her problems and get support and advice from others. She realised that one of the greatest benefits of the Internet was its ability to remove the distance that actually exists between people. She was so inspired by the people she met online that she decided to start an IT club to teacher older people how to use computers and the Internet. She and her friends now organise events and collect money for private teachers. Many people have been helped by the club. A 59-year-old man learnt how to apply for work online and found a great job. Now that he works and can take care of himself, his daughter has time to study atuniversity. A 61-year-old woman who was living alone has started a small online company together with two friends. She no longer feels lonely, and her company has become quite successful.Jan has started taking online classes to learn more about how to use the Internet to make society better. She believes that it is highly important to bridge the digital divide and make sure that everyone has access to the Internet and knows how to use technology. Her next goal is to start a charity website to raise money for children in poor countries.Jan’s life has been greatly improved by the Internet. “when you go through tough times, you meet others who are facing similar challenges.” Jan says. “Thinking about other people’s situation inspired me to offer help.”Reading and writingToday I thought I’d blog about a question that has been asked many times-how do you stay safe online and avoid bad experiences on the Internet? I’m not an expert, but many years as a blogger have taught me a thing or two.First of all, there’s the golden rule of the Internet: if you see orread something that makes you feel uncomfortable, leave the site immediately. Don’t post comments or click on anything. Second, protect you privacy. Don’t give out your address or phone number. Someone might use the information to steal your identity. Identity theft is a common and serious problem. Third, be polite. Being online is no excuse for being rude, and you don’t want to become a target for a troll or cyberbully. A troll is a person who posts comments or questions in order to stir up trouble online. Trolls often use several false names so that they can stay on a site. A cyberbully uses the Internet to be mean to others. Like a troll, a cyberbully will also write something mean but it is usually directed at particular people. He or she may also post embarrassing photos and information about these people. However, the more polite you are, the less likely it is you will be attacked.Have you had any bad experiences online, or do you have some good advice for staying safe? Post your comments below!。
