它没有主语和谓语，只有名词或代词作为主语，加上分词、形容词、副词、动词不定式、介词短语等构成的一种特殊的语法结构。

在句子中，这种结构可以表示行为、方式、时间、地点、原因、目的等。

The moon appeared， dim and misty.The children followed， shouting and laughing.The boy lay， covered with dust， on the ground.We shall go， provided that you agree.She sat at the table， book in hand.独立主格结构在句中的位置：独立主格结构一般位于句子的最后面，做句子的状语；表语形容词不能带名词，直接后面加逗号跟上句子。

如要表示人或物连续两个动作及物动词与宾语之间要连用非限定性定语从句。

在英语里只能在句首或句尾，句中位置如果放句中则必须添加逗号与前后保持隔离状态。

其在句中位置的总结公式为：引导词+逻辑主语（名词/代词）+非谓语动词短语/形容词/名词（有时可以省略）/介词短语。

独立主格结构本身不是句子，在句子当中只起状语的作用从而提高整个句子的级别与质感充当多重角色所以常常被看做一个超级大后置定语从句；表语从句可以省略句中的表语形容词和形式主语it构成独立主格或被非限制性定语修饰充当句子成分。

省略后意思通顺完整。

其不是句子但是其是已经分化的语言单位其还是具有微弱的变化因素兼具状语表示的功能。

而且在英语当中一切皆有可能只要在其范畴之内皆可按照公式套用。

否定结构时则要将being换成being。

所以独立主格本质上是一个起到修饰限定作用的短语。

省略后不会引起前后矛盾。
