My father

My father is an engineer. He does well in his work.

Once I asked my father what the secret of success was. He didn’t say a word, but wrote a few words on a piece of paper and handed it to me, I looked at the paper. On it was written:

A=X+Y+Z.

“What does it mean?” I asked.

“A means success,” explained my father. “X means hard work, Y means good ways, and Z

means to stop talking and start to work.”

That is right. From then on, I tried my best to be better.

My mother

My mother is a kind woman. She always cares well for me and does everything for me so

that I can spend more time on my study.

Once she was ill in bed for several days, but she still did everything for me. One day, when I

got home at nine at night, I found the light was still on and mother was sitting in bed and making

clothes for me. I threw myself into my mother’s arm, and tears came to my eyes.

This is my mother. She is the best mother in the world. I love her very much.

My English teacher

Mr Li is our English teacher. He is thirty. He looks young and strong, because he is fond

of(喜爱) sports. He likes singing, too. He teaches us some English songs. Sometimes he tells us

some interesting jokes. So we are all pleased to have English classes.

He encourages us to speak English and write in English. We persist in (坚持) writing diaries

in English though we made mistakes now and then. He always corrects them patiently(耐心地)，

and tell us some methods.

He is a good teacher, and we all like him very much.

If I were a Teacher

If I were a teacher, I would build a bridge of friendship with my students, I would make them

very happy. At the same time, I would look on them as my younger brothers and sisters, I would

be kind to them like an elder sister.

If I were a teacher, I would work hard and try my best to make every lesson lively and

interesting. I would let my students learn in a happy way.

If I were a teacher, I would be concerned(担心的)for my students. When any of them has

trouble with their study or living，I would do my best to help them in a kind way.

In a word, if I were a teacher,I would become my students’good teacher and friend. What more, I would make myself respected(尊重)and loved by them.

But now I am not a teacher. I am a middle school student and I believe I will be a teacher if I

try hard.

My good friend

I have a good friend. She is a Chinese girl. Her Chinese name is Zhang Yun and her English

name is Betty. She is fourteen years old now. She studies at No.5 Middle School. She is in Class

Seven, Grade Two. She is good at English, Chinese and maths. She likes singing and playing

basketball very much. She can sing and play basketball quite well. She likes watching TV, too.

She is very kind and friendly. She likes helping others. What a good girl! I like her.

Alan Brown

Alan Brown is an Australian boy. He is sixteen years old. He lives at 69 Park Road, Sydney

with his parents. Alan is a student in No. 4 High School. On weekends, he studies very hard. Art

and music are his favorite subjects. In his spare time, he likes doing sports. He usually goes

swimming three times a week. Walking is usually what he does after supper. On Saturdays, he

often has parties. He likes making friends and they always enjoy themselves. After a week’work, he likes staying at home and watching TV on Sundays.
