I. Start

A: Good afternoon, dear friends. Today is Wednesday. I’m ______.

B: I’m ______. Welcome to the English Radio Program.

A/B: Nice to meet you again.

A: Today our topic is about life.

B: Please follow us and join in our English world.

II.

A: Hey, B, you look a little upset. What’s up?

B: I am thinking of my life these days.

A: Ha! That’s a good thing. You learn to be a thinker.

B: Oh, come on! I just feel dizzy. There seems to be no hope in my life.

A: Why do you think so? I think you’re good.

B: Thanks for your comfort, though I know I’m not.

A: Cheer up, B! You should believe yourself!

B: I want to, but you know, I always fail in exams.

A: Grades are not the only things we should care in life. You are strong in many other aspects.

B: You mean I’m good at drawing?

A: Yeah! And you’re also strong in playing basketball.

B: Don’t you think I’m a loser?

A: Of course not! Don’t say that anymore! Believe me, you are a good boy/girl.

B: Thank you, A. I feel much better now.

B: “There seems to be no hope in my life.”“seem to do sth.”

并反问他“难道你不认为我是个失败者吗?”“Don’t you think I’m a loser?”

A: “Don’t you think …?”

B: A, you are such a good friend. You help to save my confidence.

A: It’s my pleasure.

B: I agree with you. I should be more outgoing.

A: Pretty good, I can’t wait to see a new B!

B: Me, either. And I’m sure I will have a wonderful life in the future.

A: That’s for sure. As long as we love our life, life will give us surprise in return.

B: Then let’s enjoy the article “Love Your Life”.

III. Nice articles

A: No.1: Love Your Life By Henry David Thoreau

①However mean your life is, meet it and live it; do not shun it and call it hard names. It is not so

bad as you are. It looks poorest when you are richest.

②The fault-finder will find faults in paradise. Love your life, poor as it is. You may perhaps have

some pleasant, thrilling, glorious hours, even in a poor-house.

③The setting sun is reflected from the windows of the alms-house as brightly as from the rich

man's abode; the snow melts before its door as early in the spring.

④I do not see but a quiet mind may live as contentedly there, and have as cheering thoughts, as

in a palace.

⑤The town's poor seem to me often to live the most independent lives of any. May be they are

simply great enough to receive without misgiving.

⑥Most think that they are above being supported by the town; but it often happens that they are

not above supporting themselves by dishonest means, which should be more disreputable.

⑦Cultivate poverty like a garden herb, like sage. Do not trouble yourself much to get new things,

whether clothes or friends. Turn the old, return to them. Things do not change; we change. Sell your clothes and keep your thoughts.

A: No. 2: I Think I Can

If you think you are beaten, you are; If you think you dare not, you don't; If you want to win but think you can't; It's almost a cinch you won't.

If you think you'll lose, you're lost; For out of the world we find Success begins with a fellow's will;

It's all in a state of mind.

Life's battles don't always go

To the stronger and faster man,

But sooner or later the man who wins Is the man who thinks he can. B:

如果你认为你败了,那你就一败涂地;如果你认为你不敢,那你就会退缩畏葸;如果你想赢但是认为你不能;

如果你认为你输了,你就输了;

成功从一个人的意志开始;
