2022年(有答案)浙江省高三(下)同步英语试卷(读后续写与概要写作)(11-20)一、书面表达1. 阅读下面短文,根据其内容写一篇60词左右的内容概要.Playing endless games of hide﹣and﹣seek with your toddler can get tired very quickly. And sometimes parents need a break from pretending not to know the very obvious spot where their child is hiding.Well, you no longer have to feel guilty about letting your kids sit down in front of the television for an hour or two, because it's been proven that,in certain circumstances, screen time for your kids can actually be beneficial. The key thing to remember is that unsupervised and too much screen time isn't good for your kids, but some situations let you relax and will keep your kids entertained. One example is video chatting with family. The American Academy of Pediatrics reported that maintaining strong relationships with your family members that live far away is an important part of development.Being able to visually see their faces and chat with them at the same time is good for your kids, even if it's on a screen. So let your little child sit on the couch, having a video chat with Grandma and Grandpa, and you can go and catch up on other things around the house.Another way to incorporate screen time in a beneficial way is to watch TV together.Turn on an educational kid show and sit next to your toddler to answer any questions that they might have. The AAP says that a few hours of television a week is fine as long as you make it a family activity and encourage your kids to ask questions about the show. One show in particular that can be extremely beneficial to watch together is Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood on PBS.Researchers at Texas Tech University reported that kids who watched 10 episodes over a two﹣week period had higher levels of confidence, and they were able to recognize emotions better. So don't feel guilty at letting your kids sit inside for a little while;all parents need a break.2. 续写部分分为两段,每段的开头语已为你写好;4.续写完成后,请用下划线标出你所使用的关键词语.Paragraph 1:I had to admit that my disappointment was growing was only one family between us and the ticket counter. This ________ made a big impression on me.There were eight ________,all probably under the age of twelve. You could tell they didn't have a lot of ________.Their clothes were not expensive, but they were clean. The children were well﹣behaved, all of them standing in line, two﹣by﹣two behind their parents, holding hands. They were excitedly talking about the clowns, elephants and other acts they would see that night with their brothers or sisters in a low voice. One could sense they had never been to the circus before. It promised to be a highlight of their young lives. The father and mother were at the head of the line, standing ________ as they could be.The ________ was holding her husband's hand, looking up at him as if to say,"Youare my knight in shining armor."He was smiling and responding in pride, looking back at her as if to say"You got that right".The ticket lady asked the father how many tickets he wanted. He proudly responded,"Please let me buy eight children's tickets and two adult tickets so I can take my family to the circus."The ticket lady gave the price. The man's wife let go of his hand, lowered her head and her lips began to ________.The father leaned a little closer and asked,"How much did you say?"The ticket lady told him the price again. The man obviously didn't have enough money. How was he supposed to turn and tell his average memory can greatly improve their memory ability by using what's known as the "mind palace" method. In order to do this, you need to picture a place you're familiar with, such as your living room. Then, you have to remember this place in as much detail as possible as this is your own mind palace.Suppose you want to remember a shopping list. You can start by spreading out all the items around your living room in your mind. This means each item on your list is connected with a remembered place in your living room. You travel to that remembered place as you recall the list.To explore the effects of this method on the brain, researchers gathered 51 participants with average memory levels and no previous memory training. After 40 days of daily 30﹣minute training, participants doubled the amount of words they could remember﹣they went from recalling an average of 26 words out of 72,to an impressive 62.Four months later, even without continued training, their recall performance remained high.In addition, the training also affects the way our brain cells connect. After training, the way that the participants' brain cells connect began to be like those of memory champions compared to scans taken before training.Researchers believe this could be responsible for their increased memory. But what makes this research so fascinating is that it seems to prove that the talent to store things in your mind isn't determined by genes. The research found there was no difference in brain structure between memory champions and normal people, which means memory champions are not born with different brains. It's clear that more studies are needed to find out what's going on here, but the"mind palace"method might be your best bet to never forget an important name, date or appointment ever again.6. 续写部分分为两段,每段的开头语已为你写好;4.续写完成后,请用下划线标出你所使用的关键词语.Paragraph 1:The next day we remembered the brand﹣new tent we had brought with us.Paragraph 2:We drove through several states and saw lots of horse.________Paragraph 2:We had no idea where we were and it got dark.________8. 阅读下面短文,根据其内容写一篇60词左右的内容概要.It's a really good idea to visit colleges before you apply because their websites can all start to look and sound the same.Nothing will give you the sense of what it will actually be like to live on a college campus(校园)like visiting and seeing for yourself the dorms, classrooms and athletic equipment and,of course, the students. It seems a little crazy once senior year hits to find the time to visit college campuses, and it can also be pricey if the schools you are applying to happen to be more than a car ride away. But keep in mind that you are making a decision about the next four years of your life, and do all the research you can to make sure you are making the right one. There's no excuse not to visit the schools in your local area.In fact,a lot of college applications even ask if you have visited campus, and obviously,if you live across the country that won't be as much of a possibility, but if you live nearby,go check it out!If campus visits aren't going to happen before you apply,at the very least you should find some time between applying and getting your acceptance letters to visit the schools you'd like to attend. It can save you a lot of heartache if you rule out now the things that you don't like about certain campuses, things that you wouldn't know unless you actually visit. Now,if time and money are making it impossible, then check out the online college fairs at CollegeWeekLive. It's a chance to chat online with admissions officers, students, and college counselors(顾问),and it won't cost you a penny! You can register for its onlinecollege fair at collegeweeklive.com.While visiting an online college fair can't take the place of an actual campus visit,it can be a very useful tool that along with all your other research will help you make an informed decision about which colleges or universities you'd like to attend.9. Some kids may even take a drink from a pool, despite warnings from their parents.Although swallowing a small amount of pool water is harmless,it's important for parents to realize that taking in too much can lead to chlorine(氯)poisoning. Kids can also inhale (吸八)water into their lungs, which can lead to a serious condition called secondary drowning.Chlorine poisoning can also be serious. Pool water contains chlorine﹣a chemical used to help get rid of bacteria such as E. coli and parasites. Chlorine may not remove all of these germs,so if children swallow pool water they could become sick.If parents and caregivers are aware of these risks, they can take steps to prevent them from happening. By being aware, parents can also recognize warning signs and seek immediate medical attention. They should watch out for signs such as upset stomach and vomiting(呕吐),a continuous cough, trouble breathing. These symptoms could develop within a few hours or up to 72 hours after swimming. As the hours pass, chlorine poisoning and secondary drowning become more distinct conditions with more specific and severe symptoms.Children who have any of these symptoms should be taken to an emergency room immediately. Here are tips for avoiding trouble:Once a child has finished swimming, check for redness and irritation around the eyes, nose, mouth and ears. This could be a sign that chlorine levels were too high.Listen for a constant cough. If a child who has been swimming develops a cough that does not go away,it could be a sign that the child swallowed too much water or inhaled it.Be on alert for flu﹣like symptoms. If a child develops symptoms of the flu or food poisoning after swimming, seek immediate medical attention.5. 阅读下面短文,根据所给情节进行续写,使之构成一个完整的故事.Many years ago, there was ________ that had an owner named ________. Here are four methods of creating a successful workout partnership:It can be hard to stick to a fitness program. Everyone has days when all you want to do is lie on the couch and watch your favorite shows. During times when motivation is lacking, having a suitable workout partner is beneficial.A simple text or email the day before a planned workout might be all your partner needs to stay active.Finding a workout partner who shares similar training interests provides a foundation to build a successful workout plan. If four﹣hour bike rides do not interest you, find a partner who would rather attend a 45﹣minute class. If barbell(杠铃)training in the middle of the weight room is too terrifying, grab a partner who would rather try a circuit workout of body weight exercise. Before starting your workout partnership, set goals and expectations as individuals and as a team. Write down how often you will train together, including specific days and times of the week. Make notes of the types of workouts you will complete together. Consider scheduling an entire month of workouts at once. Setting expectations prior to beginning your workout partnership will greatly increase your likelihood of success.Author Dale Carnegie said,"People rarely succeed unless they have fun in what they are doing. "Maintain a positive attitude toward your training partnership by carrying out fun workouts and monthly challenges. Play basketball together, even if you have never played before. Work together to see how fast you can climb 100 fights of stairs. Have a monthly push﹣up(俯卧撑)contest to test your progress and challenge each other. Enjoy being creative and remember to celebrate your progress.7. 续写完成后,请用下划线标出你所使用的关键词语.Paragraph 1:But not a word came out.Paragraph 2:The next week, she told me she wanted to try again, looking up at me with determination.8. 阅读下面短文,根据其内容写一篇60词左右的内容概要.Clouds may have a net warming or cooling effect on climate, depending on their thicknessand altitude(海拔).Artificially formed clouds called contrails(飞机云)form due to white steam made in the sky by a plane. In a cloudless sky, contrails are thought to have minimal(最小的)effect on climate. But what happens when the sky is already cloudy? In a new study published in the journal Nature Communications, scientists at ACES and colleagues from the UK show that contrails that are formed within existing high clouds increase the reflectivity of these clouds,i.e. their ability to reflect light. The researchers hope that their discovery offers important insights into the influence of aviationon climate. "Normal contrails are the stripes you sometimes see behind high﹣flying aircraft. Lots of times these contrails disappear fairly quickly. Other times they stick around for a while, and even spread out, sometimes considerably. There has been a lot of work done to find out how these form, and what kind of climatic effect they have, which is estimated to be rather small. Figuring out what kind of effect airplanes have while flying through clouds that are already present in the atmosphere has been much more difficult,"says Kevin Noone,a professor at ACES.The researchers used a combination of flight tracking data and satellites equipped with sensitive lasers for detecting small changes in cloud optical thickness,i.e. the degree to which a cloud prevents light passing through it.When they looked at flight tracks from Honolulu to LA and Seattle to San Francisco, they found a significant increase in the optical thickness of the clouds close to the flight tracks compared to those further away. In other words, the clouds close to flight tracks were more reflective or "brighter"."Such effects only occur in certain latitude(纬度)bands,so aircraft flying on polar routesin the Northern Hemisphere and close to the equator are unlikely to produce these sorts of clouds. The most important areas are in the northern and southern mid﹣latitudes. Work is in progress to calculate the climatic effects of the changes we've observed,"says Kevin Noone.9. 阅读下面短文,根据所给情节进行续写,使之构成一个完整的故事.Only after I finished ________ and sat back down, did ________ come.Sitting in ________'s study,________ and I looked at our soon﹣to﹣be﹣13﹣year﹣old son and then at each other, exchanging proud glances. The teacher noticed. "What is on your mind?"he asked.________ leaned in and whispered,"Will there be ________ for my mom?"The teacher smiled. "Yes. You know,it's okay to cry. Your mom won't be the first mother who gets emotional at her child's bar mitzvah."I knew what my son was thinking. I was going to be the most embarrassing mother ever."Emotional"was one thing…but when I cry,it isn't just a tear or two. It's more like the flood. I can't help it. I am a crier. I cry when I'm happy. I cry when I'm sad. I cry at good news and bad news. But that was in private. This would be in front of our family,________ and his classmates. I didn't want my tears to ruin my child's big day. Everyone should be focused on him,not me.The teacher asked us to come in the week before the bar mitzvah for a rehearsal. By the time they reached the lake, Jane was so angry that she said to T om, "I'm going to find a better spot for us to camp" and walked away. With no path to follow, Jane just walked on for quite a long time. After she had climbed to a high place, she turned around, hoping to see the lake. T o her surprise, she saw nothing but forest and, far beyond, a snowcapped mountain top. She suddenly realized that she was lost."Tom!" she cried. "Help!"No reply. If only she had not left her mobile phone in that bag with Tom. Jane kept moving, but the farther she walked, the more confused she became. As night was beginning to fall, Jane was so tired that she had to stop for the night. Lying awake in the dark, Jane wanted very much to be with Tom and her family. She wanted to hold him and tell him how much she loved him.Jane rose at the break of day, hungry and thirsty. She could hear water trickling(滴落) somewhere at a distance. Quickly she followed the sound to a stream. T o her great joy, she also saw some berry bushes. She drank and ate a few berries. Never in her life had she tasted anything better. Feeling stronger now, Jane began to walk along the stream and hope it would lead her to the lake.As she picked her way carefully along the stream, Jane heard a helicopter. Is that for me? Unfortunately, the trees made it impossible for people to see her from above. A few minutes later, another helicopter flew overhead. It was somewhere between spring and summer my mom and I were driving through the countryside Back then I was 13 years old and always felt unhappy with Mom. But little did I know that this trip was going to be a special one.A pot of flowers sat in the back seat, whose heavenly scent filled the car.Suddenly, in the middle of nowhere, my mom pulled over.“What are you doing?”I cried, feari ng that the car had broken down and we’d be stuck there, so far from home. But that wasn’t the case. My mom hopped out of the car, grabbing the flowers from the back seat.“It’ll just be a minute,”she called back through the open windows. My eyes impatiently skimmed the edge of the road before settling on a little sign showing that it was a nursing home. I looked back to the building, somewhat annoyed, as my mom reappeared—empty-handed.Before she started the car, curiosity drove me to ask,“Do you know someo ne there?”She shook her head.“Then what did you do with the flowers?”She smiled slightly,“I gave them to the receptionist(前台接待员).”“What?”She laughed at my confusion.“I told the receptionist to give the flowers to whoever needed them, especially who hasn’t gotten any in a while.”I kept silent for a moment. Not long after we continued our driving, I spoke again,“Did you leave your name?”T o this she answered instantly,“No. Leaving flowers there for someone who will appreciate them makes me feel good, which is enoughof a thank for me. ”Suddenly, still thinking about Mom’s deeds, I heard something burst loudly. It was our car that broke down!Nothing could be worse, because neither my mom nor I understood how to repair it, and we didn’t know where the garage was. It also seemed impossible to wait for any passer-by, since we had seen so few along the way.注意:1.所续写的短文的词数应为150左右;2.至少使用5个短文中标有下划线的关键词语;3.续写部分分为两段,每段的开头语已为你写好;4.续写完成后,请用下划线标出你所使用的关键词语。

He stood up, hugged his parents, and smiled, trying not to let his emotions (情绪)get the better of him.His parents were not quite able to keep theirs under control. They had driven their son several hours out of town to the university where he would soon be living and studying. It was time to say goodbye for now at least. The family hugged and smiled through misty eyes and then laughed. The boy lifted the last bag onto his shoulder, and flashed a bright smile. “I guess this is it,” he said. “I’ll see you back home in a month, okay” His parents nodded, and they watched as he walked out of sight into the crowds of hundreds of students and parents. The boy’s mother turned to the dog, “Okay, Poppy, time to go back home.”The house seemed quiet as a tomb without the boy living there. All that week, Poppy didn’t seem interested in her dinner, her favorite toy, or even in her daily walk. Her owners were sad too, but they knew their son would be back to visit. Poppy didn’t.&They offered the dog some of her favorite peanut butter treats. They even let her sit on the sofa, but the old girl just wasn’t her usual cheerful self. (2020年7月浙江卷)One fall,my wife Elli and I had a single goal:to photograph polar bears. We were staying at a research camp outside “the polar bear capital of the world”-the town of Churchill in Manitoba,Canada.Taking pictures of polar bears is amazing but also dangerous. Polar bears-like all wild animals-should be photographed from a safe distance. When I'm face to face with a polar bear,I like it to be through a camera with a telephoto lens. But sometimes, that is easier said than done. This was one of those times. As Elli and I cooked dinner,a young male polar bear who was playing in a nearby lake sniffed, and smelled our garlic bread. The hungry bear followed his nose to our camp, which was surrounded by a high wire fence. He pulled and bit the wire. He stood on his back legs and pushed at the wooden fence posts.Terrified,Elli and I tried all the bear defense actions we knew. We yelled at the bear, hit pots hard, and fired blank shotgun shells into the air. Sometimes loud noises like these will scare bears off. Not this polar bear though-he just kept trying to tear down the fence with his massive paws (爪子).I radioed the camp manager for help. He told me a helicopter was on its way,but it would be30 minutes before it arrived. Making the best of this close encounter(相遇),I took some pictures of the bear.Elli and I feared the fence wouldn't last through 30 more minutes of the bear's punishment. The camp manager suggested I use pepper spray. The spray burns the bears' eyes, but doesn't hurt them. So I approached our uninvited guest slowly and, through the fence, sprayed him in the face. With an angry roar(吼叫),the bear ran to the lake to wash his eyes.注意:1. 所续写短文的词数应为150左右;2. 至少使用5个短文中标有下划线的关键词语;3. 续写部分分为两段,每段的开头语已为你写好;4. 续写完成后,请用下划线标出你所使用的关键词语。

bottom, unlike the large fan﹣shape ears of the African species.Only some Asian male elephants have tusks. All African elephants, including females, have tusks.Elephants are either left﹣or right﹣tusked and the one they use more is usually smaler because of wear and tear. The Asian elephant has four toes on the hind foot and five on the forefoot, while the African elephant has three on the hind foot and five on the forefoot.Led by a female chief, elephants are organized into complex social structures of females and babies, while male elephants tend to live in isolation.A single baby is born to a female once every 4﹣5 years after a gestation(妊娠)period of 22 months﹣the longest of any mammal. These babies stay with their mothers for years and are also cared for by other females in the group. The two species of elephants﹣African and Asian﹣need extensive land to survive.Walking in herds and consuming hundreds of pounds of plant mater in a single day, both species of elephants require extensive amounts of food, water and space. As a result, these large mammals place great demands on the environment and often come into conflict with people in competition for resources. So whether they can continue to live depends on the surrounding environment.7. 阅读下面短文,根据所给情节进行续写,使之构成一个完整的故事."Every day in Teplice I was seeing a man with a backpack on his back,in a thin dressing, hurriedly away from what makes you tired, regardless of the type of trip you choose. On the other hand,we feel happy when visiting tourist attractions, walking on the beach or swimming in the pool.If we travel with family, besides these benefits,we can also add the fact that we spend our most precious time with people we love most in the world. And not just that!Family travel has more advantages. The pace of life that most people lead today makes it imposible for usto spend all the time with our family. To take away that sense of guilt and make the most of the time with our family,it is best to spend days on holiday with them.In addition, spending almost 24 hours a day with your family will help to strengthen ties and know your children better. As mentioned, traveling has numerous benefits,so do not think only for adults. In fact, thanks to the smaller ones of the house, tours will not only be good times with the family, but make the relationship develop emotionally and socially.Traveling with children also has many advantages for adults. For example, you will see the world without prejudice and find experiences that you have forgotten:the beauty of a crystal stone, the mystery of a cave, the dips in the pool…Of course, you will enjoy much seeing your child's face in surprise to discover new places. In addition,it will help you understand the idea that you can live without TV and video games. In fact, you will find that what's going on outside is much better than what you can see on a screen. On the other hand, keep in mind that you can spend a few minutes alone or with a partner and you will enjoy it more than ever.11. 阅读下面短文,根据所给情节进行续写,使之构成一个完整的故事.It was one of ________ of the dry season. We had not seen ________ in almost a month. The crops were dying.Cows had stopped giving milk. The people like what they like?Scientists have taken on the task of solving this mystery for ages.In the1960s,psychologist Robert Zajonc conducted a series of experiments where he showed people nonsense words and random shapes.Afterward he asked his subjects which they prefered out of everything they had been shown.Instudy after study, people always chose the words and shapes they had seen the most.Their preference was for familiarity. This discovery was one of the most important findings in modern psychology. But the preference for familiarity has clear limits.People get tired of even their favorite songs and movies. On the one hand, humans seek familiarity, because it makes them feel safe.On the other hand, people love the thril of something new. This change between familiarity and discovery affects us all the time﹣not just our preferences for pictures and songs, but also our preferences for ideas and even people. For that reason, the power of familiarity seems to be strongest when a person isn't expecting it.The opposite is also true:A surprise seems to work best when it contains some familiarity.Nohody knows this beter than Raymond Loewy, who is considered to be the"father of industrial design",He had a theory that he said could help artists sell anything to anyone. He called it MA YA﹣"Most Advanced Yet Acceptable",To sell something surprising, make it familiar;and to sell something familiar, make it surprising,he said. One of Loewy's final tasks was to add an clement(要素)of familiarity to a truly new invention:NASA's first space station.Loewy's biggest contribution to the space station was that he insisted NASA install a window with a view of the earth.Today, tens of millions of people have seen this small detail in films about astronauts. It is hard to imagine a more perfect example of MAYA:a window to a new world can also show you home.参考答案与试题解析2022年(有答案)浙江省高三(下)同步英语试卷(读后续写与概要写作)(181-190)一、书面表达1.【答案】Paragraph 1I felt my heart warming towards him and the sense of 2022届浙江高考英语总复习-读后续写专项训练21.The worst tourist (旅行者) in the world may be Nicholas Scottie of San Francisco. Once he flew from the US to his hometown in Italy. He had some troubles on his journey. The night before, he stayed up late to deal with some emails, so when he boarded on the plane he decided to have a sleep. Hours later, he was woken up by some noise and he found the plane had landed. As he thought he had arrived home, Mr. Scottie got off the plane. He thought he was in Rome. However, the truth was that the plane made a one-hour stop to get oil at Kennedy Airport of New York.Mr. Scottie waited at the airport for some while, but nobody was there to meet him, he thought maybe they were held up by heavy traffic which was very common in Rome. He decided to give his family a phone call. Unfortunately, he found he had left his cellphone at the hotel in San Francisco. Therefore, he decided to go home by himself. While he was walking in the city, Mr. Scottie found that the old “Rome” had changed a lot. Many old buildings were replaced by high modern ones. He also found that many people spoke English instead of Italian and that many street signs were written in English. What made him most surprised was that drivers’ awareness of traffic safety was improved and he hardly found any driver speeding on the road. All cars were driving in line. The condition was widely different from that in the past. He was feeling proud.Mr. Scotti knew very little English, so he asked a policeman (in Italian) the way to the bus station. He happened to meet a policeman who was also born in Italy and answered him in the same language. Mr. Scotti thanked him, left, quickly found the bus station and got on a bus. He looked outside of the bus window.注意:1. 所续写短文的词数应为150左右;2. 应使用5个以上短文中标有下划线的关键词语;3. 续写部分分为两段,每段的开头语已为你写好;4. 续写完成后,请用下划线标出你所使用的关键词语。

doesn't mean we aren't best friends.Just the fact that we have other friends doesn't mean we aren't best friends.Organized chaos. Some friends come;some friends go.Some stay;some don't.It's all a matter of chance.Everybody has a different life,a different family, and different responsibilities. My best friend and I have gone through tough times. We have matured together, cried together, laughed expert hand and anyway, battery﹣powered planes are quite easy to set up and operate. You will need to buy a model plane with its matching remote control(RC)to enable you to start, control and land your model plane.Once you have assembled(组装)your model plane,it is time for a test flight. You cancall an experienced friend who has much flying experience. That would help you in avoiding costly mistakes and your model plane will be saved from the reduced crashing experience. You can take it to your garden or any other empty plot of land for your first flight. If the ground is smooth, you could make it take off from there or you can even make it take off with one person holding the plane and then leaving it gently.Once you get the hang of it,you can then proceed to do some stunts(特技)like flying loops, rolls and inverted flight. The joy of learning something new will keep your interest alive in this hobby.Once you are well skilled in flying battery﹣operated model planes, you can also graduate to gasoline﹣powered planes. These planes also can be controlled by remote control and their distinct motor sound gives flying a more realistic touch of being in the early 1900's as compared to an electric motor, which is silent. So,whichever plane you fly,it is essential that you get familiar with the remote control to enable your model plane to obey your commands and keep crashes to a minimum.Over time you will be able to make your plane perform difficult and death defying stunts without any fear. So,take some action now.Get that RC model airplane and take to the skies withyour feet planted firmly on the ground.5. 阅读下面短文,根据所给情节进行续写,使之构成一个完整的故事.It was an emotional moment when a couple handed over the ________ of a car to a stranger they had given a lift ________.When the stranger understood what smartphones, but the smell of just﹣baked rolls and freshly roasted coffee? Now you're talking. The Sensorwake, currently appearing at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, takes a vastly different approach to getting your attention when it's time to wake up.Insteadof using sound to arouse you,the clock uses smell, thanks to the"timed release of a fragrance of your choice".As the brainchild of 19﹣year﹣old Guillaume Rolland,an engineering student from France, the Sensorwake was successfully crowd﹣funded last year to the tune of ﹩200,000,and Rolland d is now taking pre﹣orders for retail units that will ship in the first half of 2016.At launch, there will be six fragrances available via the Sensorwake website, with plans to sell them via retail outlets later. But do smells work as well as a regular audio(声音的)alarm in terms of waking you up?While we might hate the sound of conventional alarms, they seem to be effective for most regular sleepers.Rolland claims that the Sensorwake is just as good as audio alarms, with internal(内部的)testing showing his smell﹣based alarm wakes 99 percent of people in 2 minutes. While the Sensorwake could be as effective as Rolland claims, previous research on the rousing abilities of smells hasn't been so positive.A 1997 study by fire and rescue workersin Irondale,Alabama was designed to test whether adults woke up in the presence of smoke, water and smell.Of 10 sleeping participants, only two woke up when exposed to the fragrance.Audio tones played over a speaker were significantly more effective at rousingthe sleepers, leading the researchers to conclude that"the sense of smell is not reliably capable of waking a sleeper".The Sensorwake comes with an insurance policy for any sleepers who aren't roused by its primary feature. For extra﹣heavy sleepers or those without sharp noses who don't register the smell, there's a backup audio alarm that's activated to go off if the fragrance hasn'twoken you up within 3 minutes.9. There're many schools out thereto choose from﹣some known and some less known, all worthy of your attention. To find the school that works for you,you should start with who you areand why you're going to college. What are you good at and what are you interested in?What are your weaknesses? Are you socially self﹣sufficient?Talk with your family, friends and teachers as you ask these questions.Remember that a name﹣brand college won't guarantee your success.Think about the people in your life who have achieved great success and find out which college they went to.You'll likely find success in life has less to do with the choice of college than with the experiences and opportunities while in college.Employers are looking for outstanding skills and experience, not college backgrounds. As you search for colleges, ask about graduates, and you'll find many colleges that are better than name﹣brand ones. You don't need to pick a college for a major.Very few high school students have enough information or experience to choose a major. You need the variety and depth of college coursework to determine your interest and major.Being undecided is a good thing and will leave you open to more academic experiences. If you make the assumption that you cannot afford college based on the sticker price of tuition, you'll miss out. It's difficult to talk about money, but if you investigate all the options and ask for help and advice, you'll find affordable choices.Online resources,as well as financial aid workshops sponsored by high schools in local communities, are widely available to get you started. In a word, the most important thing is to choose a college that is fit for you. That requirestime and thoughtfulness. You can visit college websites and learn about what events take place, who visits as a guest speaker, and how to get in touch with current students and teachers. That will help you imagine yourself as a part of the community.Consider the information you've collected about the colleges, and you'll have great options!参考答案与试题解析2022年(有答案)浙江省高三(下)同步英语试卷(读后续写与概要写作)(71-80)一、书面表达1.【答案】Paragraph 1:She said, "The next day. 2022年(有答案)浙江省高三(下)同步英语试卷(读后续写与概要写作)(21-30)一、书面表达1. Directions:Read the following passage.Summarize the main idea and the main point (s)of the passage in no more than 60 words.Use your own words as far as possible.Learning by Rote in the Digital AgeRote learning has become seen as an outdated method of teaching. The dictionary defines learning"by rote"as:"from memory, without thought of the meaning;in a mechanical way".The decline of rote learning has been quickened by technology. No one needs to memorize friends' phone numbers or email addresses because such data is conveniently stored and accessible electronically. And why remember when and where World War Ⅱ broke out when you can find the answer on the internet in about six seconds? But now there are voices for a need to return to rote learning. In fact, memorizing key data is essential to learning any skill.Doctoring requires knowledge of medicine and lawyering requires knowledge of cases and laws.Of course, being able to recall things will not further your understanding of those things, but without memorizing these foundation elements, you cannot progress to a deeper understanding of a subject. While the internet and computers have weakened the need for us to remember things,it may well be that mobile learning can help bring this style of learning back to life by making it more convenient and more fun.Drilling yourself﹣with flashcards or by repetition﹣is usually hard and boring work, which is why most people need their multiplication tables to be drilled into them by teachers or parents.Rote learning without a willing third party can be a battle of discipline and motivation. But mobile learning can make those flashcards and drills more appropriate to individual study;our digital devices can challenge and inform us at the same time and also keep us Earth's history,a period known as the Carboniferous(石炭纪),plant life seemed unwilling to rot. When trees died they fell to the ground, much of which was swampy(沼泽的)in those days, and instead of being consumed by micro﹣organisms(微生物)they remained more or less complete. In the course, more trees fell on them. And more, and yet more. The buried wood was gradually changed into a kind of matter closer and closer to pure carbon. The result was the coal, providing power for factories and railways, other chemicals, and the energy to produce most of the world's electricity.Yet the great amount of this Carboniferous coal is a puzzle.Forests began in the period before the Carboniferous, and have existed ever since. So why,the curious ask,was it then in particular that so much coal was created?Part of the explanation is that the swamps themselves, lacking oxygen, would have slowed down the activities of wood﹣destroying micro﹣organisms. This is true as far as it goes, but swamps have existed at times other than the Carboniferous. To explain so much coal got in this period it has been suggested that Carboniferous micro﹣organisms were not up to the job of rotting wood.Changes in plant chemistry which let trees grow tall, this theory goes, disturbed these micro﹣organisms' activities, making much wood not rot away.Instead,Dr Boyce thinks abundant Carboniferous coal, swamps and all,is an accident caused by the movement of the continents.During the Carboniferous, the continents were moving around quite a bit.Dr Boyce is suggesting that the actual cause was geological(地质的).When buried, the coal could not be worn away, and thus survived to the present day.If his opinion is correct, then,it is the movement of the continents that is responsible for the Industrial Revolution. No continental movement,no coal.6. 阅读下面短文,根据所给情节进行续写,使之构成一个完整的故事.I lived a life with the belief that if you don't expect much from the world it won't disappoint you,and for a while I was right. And then I met ________.His essential subjects, like math and science. What we learn in our childhood years stays with us forever. But what if the ability to learn is hindered(阻碍)during such formative years?Though assumed to be a problem starting from adulthood, the actual origin of learning disabilities is as a child.A learning disability is not a sign of less intelligence or brain capacity. It is not a mental condition or disability, like autism(孤独症),mental retardation(智力迟钝),or impairment of vision or hearing. It is not related to emotional or physical disorders in any way.Do not confuse it with ADHD(多动症),or slowness in learning a new language or subject.A learning disorder is the difficulty experienced in learning one or more subjects in a typical fashion. The brain receives and processes information in a manner different from how it should be learned. For example,2+2=4 can be understood as addition by one child. But a child with a learning disability might not understand the"+"sign or the"="sign, and how 4 was created out of 2 and 2.The extent and style of the learning disability vary from child to child.Children with average and above﹣average intelligence can be affected by different learning disabilities.A reading disorder in one child can be present in another child in a completely different manner. The real danger behind such a disability is the way it is treated. If ignored, learning disabilities have a "snowball" effect.Think about it.A child, who can't read first grade material,is going to struggle with middle school reading. And the difficulty will plague(烦扰)him all the way to college and beyond. The frustration of not being equal to therest and always struggling with the same issue, will eat away at him, causing serious emotional scarring and self﹣esteem issues. The causes of learning disabilities can be social and neurological.Learning disabilities can be inherited and are found in both boys and girls.Approximately 4 million schoolchildren and teenagers suffer from a learning disability.8. 阅读下面短文,根据所给情节进行续写,使之构成一个完整的故事.________ was a ________in the United States Army, but no war zone could have prepared him for taking care of his three﹣year﹣old ________on his express your thoughts and emotions.Just like journalingor keeping a diary, writing a song memorializes an event or conveys the feelings you have about a particular subject.Sometimes the music and lyrics will flow easily and naturally, but you may also struggle to write music. No matter where you're starting from,a few basic principles will help you avoid frustration and help you create an authentic song. There's no right or wrong way to start,so you can begin with lyrics or music. But whichever you choose, you'll need a solid foundation.Be sure you know some basic elements of music theory, such as chords(和弦)and chord progression. You'll also want to get familiar with song structure, which typically uses verse﹣chorus﹣verse﹣chorus﹣bridge﹣chorus(副歌).It's a good idea to listen to great music from any type, and pay attention to the type you want to write.Listening to classics will help you pick up patterns in song structure and inspire you with powerful storytelling.Start with a simple process when you're creating the melody(旋律).Keep the chords easy because you can always go back and add additional elements like drums or strings later.Ifthe lyrics are ready, use them to inspire the music by speaking the song aloud, exaggerating the inflection you use based on the emotion in the song. This may lead to an organic melody from the natural rhythm that the spoken words produce. Finally,a great song starts with authentic inspiration.Whether it's a personal tragedy or joy, drawing upon emotionally powerful events in your life will create better storytelling. If you feel stuck, take a break. This is a better approach than forcing it or overthinking it,if the inspiration isn't flowing.Partner other musicians to generate more ideas and to get an objective perspective.Don't be afraid of constructive criticism because you want the song to be better and that requires honesty during the cooperation process.10. 阅读下面短文,根据所给情节进行续写,使之构成一个完整的故事.A ________ who social circles;those women aren't our competition.Comparing our curves to Miranda Kerr's gives us no more information than comparing our IQ to Einstein's.The only way we can truly judge ourselves and our place in the pecking order is to constantly measure how we look versus the other women in our lives.Consider:Only 30 percent of women say they would like to look like those women featuredin magazines.About 80 percent disagree with the statement that celebrities and models are an important source of information about body and beauty ideals.Women like Amy Schumer﹣who looks more like most of us﹣﹣become easy targets."We all have a tendency to compare, and it's not necessarily a bad thing."said Dr.Alexandra."Social comparison can be a positive motivator for self﹣improvement. But what's going on with women right now﹣what is problematic﹣is whatwe're chronically(慢性地)comparing.""It's not a part of our DNA to run around comparing our bodies and our diets to otherwomen's,"she continued."It's because we're constantly bombarded(轰击)with messages from the media that suggest we should. What I've found particularly interesting in my research is that women who express symptoms of eating disorders tend to bel chronic comparers.Almost everybody has found that people who struggle with disordered eating consistently have lower self﹣esteem,"She added that if you're already struggling with body image or engaging in restrictive eating, you're probably, statistically speaking, more prone to compare yourself to other women."It becomes a vicious bidirectional downward spiral(恶性循环),"she said."The more you compare yourself to others, the more you diet;the more you diet, the more you compare yourself to others."5. 阅读下面短文,根据所给情节进行续写,使之构成一个完整的故事.I was once unemployed. But our kids. Most of us focus on the basics, such as teaching our kids how to feed and dress themselves, how to tie their shoes, and how to count, read and write. After all, these are foundational skills, which are critical for our kids to become more and more independent. However,as a child therapist(治疗师),Natasha Daniels pointed out,"As we're teaching our kids concrete skills,we might be forgetting other skills that are just as significant, such as emotional intelligence.""Kids aren't always born with kindness and sympathy. These skills have to be taught, trained and grown. And we can plant these seeds as early as toddlerhood(蹦跚学步),"she said.To start,Daniels suggested helping your child to label their emotions, and teaching them how their actions affect others. For instance, you might say"When you shared your toy,you made her so happy."or"When you took that toy from him,you made him sad."."Teach your kids they' re capable and competent. Let your kids do more tasks on their own, because the less you do for them, the more they learn what they' re made of,"said John Duffy, PhD, a clinical psychologist, author of The Available Parent. "This gift is both invaluable and impressive. Children will maintain that sense of competence for a lifetime."Duffy encouraged parents to challenge kids to do things they normally wouldn't﹣doing the laundry and the dishes, contributing to adult conversations about politics or religion, troubleshooting computer problems and even helping to repair a car engine. "Invite them into these spaces. You will be surprised at what they' re capable of.""Listen intently to your kids, without interrupting or judging what they' re saying. Whenyou lose your cool, take responsibility and apologize. This shows that it's OK to get frustrated, and that you can work through conflict, and that everyone is accountable for their actions, "said O'Brien, a licensed marriage and family therapist.7. to find yournew furry family member. All pets require their owners' time, but KC Theisen, director of pet care issues for the Humane Society of the United States, says how much time you have to give is the top thing her organization's staff ask people to consider when looking to adopt."If you adopt an 8﹣year﹣old cat, she's not going to need the same amount of care as a 9﹣week﹣old puppy,"says Theisen. Therefore,Theisen encourages families with children to adopt a pet as away of teaching responsibility, but all animals require daily care.At the very least, there will be days or weeks when the child fails to take care of their new pet and the parents have to step in.Like dating and finding the perfect partner, you want a pet that reflects your interests andactivity levels."Particularly if you're looking at dogs, consider activity levels in the household,"says Theisen."If you're a couch potato or a homebody, look for a pet that matches that activity level."If this is your family's first experience with pets,it's advisableto get tested for allergies."Visit a shelter and talk to your physician,"says Theisen."Visit with pets.See if you feel reactant. If you do,and you still want to adopt, speak with your physician about how you can manage allergies."Still can't decide which pet is right for you and your family?Consider volunteering at local animal shelters or look into raising people. But if we consider the situation of the young people aged from eight toeighteen,we should think again. What we often see nowadays is that young people juggle an ever larger number of electronic devices(电子产品)as they study. While working, they also surf the Internet, send out emails.answer the telephone and listen to music on their iPods. In a sense, they are spending a significant amount of time on fruitless efforts as they multitask.Multitasking is even changing the relationship between family members. As young people give so much attention to their world, they seem to have no time to spend with the other people around them. They can no longer greet family members when they enter the house, nor can they eat at the family table.Multitasking also affects young people's performance at university and in the workplace. When asked about their opinion of the effect of modern gadgets(小装置)on their performance of tasks, many young people give a positive response(反应).However, the response from the world of education and business is not quite as positive.Educators feel that multitasking by children has a serious effect on later development of study skills. They believe that many college students now need help to improve their study skills.Similarly, employers feel that young people entering the job market need to be taught all over again,as modern gadgets have made it unnecessary for them to learn special skills to do their work.参考答案与试题解析2022年(有答案)浙江省高三(下)同步英语试卷(读后续写与概要写作)(41-50)一、书面表达1.【答案】Paragraph 1:When she almost stepped out of the forest, she heard her family crying. Her Getting rid of dirt, in the opinion of most people, is a good thing. However, there is nothing fixed about attitudes to dirt.In the early 16th century, people thought that dirt on the skin was a means to block out disease, as medical opinion had it that washing off dirt with hot water could open up the skin and let ills in. A particular danger was thought to lie in public baths. By 1538, the French king had closed the bath houses in his kingdom. So did the king of England in 1546. Thus began a long time when the rich and the poor in Europe lived with dirt in afriendly way. Henry IV, King of France, was famously dirty. Upon learning that a nobleman had taken a bath, the king ordered that, to avoid the attack of disease, th,e nobleman should not go out.Though the belief in the merit (好处)of dirt was long-lived,dirt has no longer been regarded as a nice neighbor ever since the 18 century. Scientifically speaking, cleaning away dirt is good to health. Clean water supply and hand washing are practical means of preventing disease. Yet, it seems that standards of cleanliness have moved beyond science since World War II. Advertisements repeatedly sell the idea:clothes need to be whiter than white, cloths ever softer, surfaces to shine. Has the hate for dirt, however, gone too farAttitudes to dirt still differ hugely nowadays. Many first-time parents nervously try to warn their children off touching dirt, which might be responsible for the spread of disease. On the contrary, Mary Ruebush,American immunologist (免疫学家),encourages children to play in the dirt to build up a strong immune system. And the latter (后者)position is "gaining some ground.参选答案:One possible version:People have mixed opinions towards dirt on our skin.(要点1 ) For a long time in history, people of some European countries, such as France, believed that dirt protected people from getting ill.(要点2 ) However, people began to change their attitudes to dirt about 200 years ago.
