Step1. Revision

1. T: What places are they? Students answer.

2. Show some pictures and ask “Have you ever been to …?”

3. Pairwork: A: Have you ever been to …?

B: Yes, I have. I went there … (No, I

haven’t.) What about you?

A: Me, too. I went there … (Me neither.) Step 2. Presentation

T: Where has Jimmy ever been? (Let students guess.)

T: Yes, he has been to the Disneyland. It is a theme park.

Present pictures and teach the new words: Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, characters, roller coaster, cruise, attraction, board, rout, end up, island.

Step 3. Reading

1. Scan the article and think: Why can we call

Disneyland a theme park?

2. Read the article again and circle the places, things , and act ivities you think are interesting. Underline the ones you think are boring.

3. Give the summary for each paragraph.

4. Answer questions: What’s the theme of Disneyland?

What can you find all over the roller coaster? What can you do during the Disney Cr uise? Where does the Disney Cruise finish?

5. Read the article and explain s ome language points.

Read the article again and write a conversation. Then practice the conversation with your partner.
