Welcome to my hometown.一封信小学生英语作文8The lucky-number has become increasingly popular in daily life of modern sociality. For example, the number eight means big money which people like most, while the number four means death. Some people believe lucky numbers so deeply that they will afford a telephone with numbers without four and others which is bad in their mind. They argue that the lucky-number really can bring good luck, and, at least, no evidence testifies they can not.As far as I am concerned, there is no such relationship between the numbers and lucky, for the reason that numbers their self are given certain meaning for the purpose of application of mathematic. And, in addition, man should not depend on lucky which, in their mind, the numbers gives them.一封信小学生英语作文9I have many friends in my class. There are 45 students in my classroom. they are interesting and lovely. 五年级下册英语作文三单元信封形式全文共6篇示例,供读者参考篇1Dear Aunt Sarah,How are you? I hope this letter finds you well. I'm writing to tell you all about my recent experiences and the exciting things I've learned in school, especially in our English class. We just finished Unit 3, which was all about "Exploring the World." It was such an interesting and eye-opening unit! We learned so much about different countries, cultures, and traditions from around the globe. I feel like my horizons have been broadened, and I have a better understanding and appreciation for the diversity of our world. One of the things we learned about was the amazing Great Barrier Reef in Australia. Did you know it's the largest coral reef system in the world? It's so vast that it can even be seen from outer space! We watched a documentary about the incredible marine life that calls the Great Barrier Reef home, like clownfish, sea turtles, and colorful coral formations. It's truly a natural wonder, and I hope I can visit it one day.We also learned about the fascinating culture of Japan. I was really intrigued by the traditional Japanese art form of origami, which involves folding paper into intricate shapes and figures. In class, we got to try our hand at making some simple origami creations, like paper cranes and frogs. It was challenging at first, but once you get the hang of it, it's really satisfying to see the paper take shape.Another highlight was learning about the vibrant celebrations of the Holi festival in India. It's known as the "Festival of Colors," where people gather and throw colorful powder and water at each other, creating a vibrant and joyful scene. We watched videos of the festivities, and it looked like so much fun! I can't imagine how exciting it must be to experience it in person. One of my favorite parts of the unit was when we had a cultural exchange day at school. Several students dressed up in traditional outfits from different countries, and we got to sample various international cuisines during lunchtime. I tried some delicious samosas from India, and my friend brought in some tasty empanadas from her family's Colombian heritage. It was such a wonderful way to experience different cultures through food and clothing. We also learned about some famous landmarks and natural wonders from around the world. We studied the Great Pyramids of Giza in Egypt, the Northern Lights in Scandinavia, and the breathtaking Iguazu Falls on the border of Brazil and Argentina. Seeing pictures and videos of these incredible places really sparked my curiosity and made me want to travel and explore more of the world. In addition to learning about different countries and cultures, we also practiced our English language skills through various activities and projects. We had to research and give presentations on a country of our choice, which helped improve our public speaking abilities. We also wrote short stories or poems inspired by the different cultures we studied, allowing us to express our creativity and practice our writing skills.Overall, Unit 3 was an amazing learning experience. It opened my eyes to the rich diversity of our world and made me even more curious to learn about different countries, traditions, and ways of life. I feel like I've gained a deeper understanding and appreciation for other cultures, and I'm excited to continue exploring and learning more.I hope you enjoyed reading about my experiences in English class. Please give my love to everyone back home, and I can't wait to see you all again during my summer break.Love,[Your Name]篇2Dear Jenny,I hope this letter finds you well! It's been a while since we last spoke. How have you been? I can't wait to hear all about what you've been up to lately.Things have been pretty exciting here lately. Do you remember how I told you that my family was thinking about getting a pet? Well, we finally did it - we adopted the cutest little puppy! His name is Buddy and he's a golden retriever. He's only a few months old but he's already pretty big. I've always wanted a dog and I'm so happy we got one.Buddy has been keeping us very busy though. Having a puppy is a lot of work! We have to take him out to go potty several times a day and he seems to have endless energy that needs to be burned off with walks and playtime. He's alreadychewed up one of my sneakers and a couple of my mom's slippers. We're working on training him not to chew on things he's not supposed to.Despite being a handful sometimes, Buddy has brought us so much joy. He's really affectionate and loves to cuddle up on the couch with us. He's also really smart and has already learned how to sit, stay, and shake. My favorite trick is when he rolls over to get a belly rub. It's just the cutest thing!I have to take Buddy to puppy training classes starting next week. I'm a little nervous because I've never trained a dog before, but I'm excited to learn. The classes will teach me how to properly train Buddy and help us bond even more. I just know he's going to be such a good dog once he's fully trained.Caring for a puppy has taught me a lot about responsibility too. I have to make sure Buddy gets fed at the same times every day and that his water bowl is always full of fresh, clean water. I also have to play with him and give him plenty of exercise and attention. If I don't, he gets really hyper and starts misbehaving. It's a lot to remember but I'm trying my best. My parents have been helping me a ton and reminding me of my puppy duties. I know it will get easier as Buddy gets older and we settle into more of a routine. For now, I'm just cherishing all of hisadorable puppy moments and trying to be patient when he has accidents or gets really rambunctious.I wish you could meet Buddy! He's such a sweetheart. We'll have to figure out a time for you to come over and visit soon. Maybe we could have a puppy play date and you could bring your dog too if you have one. Or if not, I'm sure Buddy would love to make a new friend.Well, that's my big news for now. Getting a puppy has definitely made life a lot more exciting and busy around here. Please write back soon and tell me what's new with you. I miss hearing your voice!Your friend,[Your Name]篇3Dear Grandma,How are you doing? I miss you so much! School has been keeping me really busy lately with all my classes and activities. But I want to tell you all about what we've been learning in English class. For our latest unit, we are studying how to write letters and addressing envelopes properly. It's actually been really interesting! I had no idea there was so much to know about the right way to format an envelope. Our teacher started by showing us the different parts of an envelope - the front with the delivery address, the back with the return address, and the inside for the letter itself. She explained that the delivery address has to be written perfectly clearly so that it gets to the right person. The postal workers have to be able to read it easily. We learned that the delivery address has several components that have to be included in the right order. First comes the name of the person or company you're sending it to. Then the street address or PO box number goes on the next line. After that is the city, followed by the two-letter state abbreviation and zip code on the same line. For example, if I was sending you a letter it would look like this:Mrs. Jane Grandma123 Cozy LaneSunnyville, CA 92678The teacher said to always use the proper name and title when possible, like "Mrs." instead of just the first name. And never shorthand anything or use text lingo like "Sunny Ville."For the return address on the back of the envelope, you include your own name and address in the same format. That way if the letter can't be delivered for some reason, it can be returned to you. The return address goes in the top left corner.Isn't it crazy how specific all the rules are? I never realized people had to be trained to properly address envelopes for the mail system to work efficiently.Once we had learned how to format the addresses, our teacher showed us the right way to position and affix the stamp in the top right corner. You have to make sure not to go over the edges with the stamp ink. Then we finally got to practice addressing real envelopes ourselves. It was trickier than it looks to get everything lined up neatly! We had to be careful to space the lines of the address evenly, capitalize correctly, and use the right abbreviations. After a few practice rounds, we moved on to learning some other envelope customs. Like if you're sending something to a business, you're supposed to include any suite, floor, or mailstopnumbers on one of the address lines. And for personal letters, you can optionally include the recipient's middle initial. There are also specific ways to address envelopes for special cases - like if it's going to an apartment, married couple, or temporary resident. My favorite was learning about the best ways to address letters to people with long or complicated names to ensure they get delivered properly.篇4Dear Aunt Emily,I hope this letter finds you well! It's been a while since we last spoke, so I wanted to write and give you an update on what's been happening in my life lately.First off, let me tell you about the exciting new unit we just started in English class. It's all about writing different types of letters and understanding their formats. We kicked things off by learning how to write a friendly letter, which is what I'm doing right now!The first thing we had to figure out was the layout. Our teacher showed us that friendly letters have a very specific structure. At the top right, you write your address, followed bythe date. Then on the left, you write "Dear" and the name of the person you're writing to.After that comes the body of the letter, where you can write whatever you want to say. Mrs. Jenkins taught us it's important to organize our thoughts into separate paragraphs so the letter is easy to read.Once you've said everything you need to say, you write a closing like "Sincerely" or "Your friend," and then your signature. Easy enough, right? Well, not so fast! There are a bunch of other little rules we have to remember too.Like, did you know you're supposed to indent every new paragraph in a letter? And that you should skip a line between the greeting, each paragraph, the closing, and your signature? It's all about making the letter look neat and professional.Anyway, now that I've bored you with all the technical details, let me share some of the more exciting news from school...We just had our science fair last week, and I entered a project on how different materials conduct electricity. I made a really cool circuit board with lights that would turn on when you touched different objects like coins, paper clips, and keys.It took a ton of work, but it paid off because I ended up winning third place! My parents were so proud, and I got a nice ribbon to hang up in my room. Maybe I'll be an electrical engineer when I grow up.In other news, I recently joined the school band and I'm learning how to play the trumpet. I've only had a couple lessons so far, but I'm already getting the hang of making some decent sounds come out of that thing. My parents aren't huge fans yet since I have to practice at home, but hopefully I'll sound better soon!Sports are keeping me busy too. I'm still playing soccer, and our team is doing pretty well this season. We have a big game coming up next weekend against our biggest rivals. I'll make sure to let you know how it goes.Oh, before I forget, I have to tell you about the funny story from last month's field trip to the museum...We were in the dinosaur exhibit, which was definitely the coolest part. Our teacher was showing us these massive fossils and telling us all these crazy facts about the creatures that used to roam the Earth.Suddenly, we heard this booming voice shouting "RUN FOR YOUR LIVES! THE T-REX IS LOOSE!" It was our tour guide trying to be funny, but he seriously scared the life out of half the class.A bunch of kids started screaming and one even burst into tears. Needless to say, we all had a good laugh about it once we realized it was just a joke.Well, I could probably go on forever, but I should wrap this up before my hand falls off from all this writing. Thank you for taking the time to read my ramblings.I miss you lots and can't wait for your next visit so we can spend more quality time together. Maybe you can even teach me some more letter writing tips! Until then, take care and send my love to the rest of the family.Your nephew,[Your name]篇5Dear Diary,I'm so excited to tell you all about what we've been learning in English class lately! We just started Unit 3 in our textbook, and it's been a blast. This unit is called "Exploring the World," and it'sall about different countries, cultures, and ways of life around the globe. One of the first things we did was learn some new vocabulary words related to travel and adventure. Words like "passport," "luggage," "souvenir," and "jet lag." I remember giggling when our teacher, Ms. Johnson, acted out what jet lag feels like – she pretended to be really tired and kept yawning and stretching. It was hilarious! We also learned about different modes of transportation used for travel, like airplanes, trains, buses, and even camels! Can you imagine riding a camel across the desert? I'm not sure how comfortable that would be, but it sounds like an incredible adventure. In one of our lessons, we read a story about a family that went on a trip to India. They visited famous landmarks like the Taj Mahal and the Red Fort, and they got to try all sorts of delicious Indian food, like curry and naan bread. The descriptions in the story made my mouth water!Speaking of food, our class had a "Culture Day" where each student brought in a traditional dish from a different country. My mom helped me make some amazing Swedish meatballs, and my friend Jacob brought in some tasty empanadas fromArgentina. It was so much fun trying all the different flavors and learning about the different cultures they came from. One of my favorite activities was when we had to research a country and create a poster presentation about it. I chose to do mine on Japan, and I learned so many fascinating things! Did you know that Japan has over 100 active volcanoes? And that sushi was originally invented as a way to preserve fish? I made sure to include those cool facts on my poster. We also learned about different customs and traditions from around the world. For example, in some cultures, it's considered rude to show the bottom of your feet to someone, while in others, it's polite to take off your shoes before entering a home. It's so interesting to see how different cultures have different ways of doing things. But my absolute favorite part of this unit was when we got to try our hand at some basic phrases in different languages. Ms. Johnson taught us how to say "hello," "thank you," and "goodbye" in Spanish, French, Mandarin Chinese, and even a few words in Swahili! It was a little tricky at first, but we had a lot of fun practicing with each other.I think my favorite phrase to learn was "merci beaucoup" in French, which means "thank you very much." It just sounds sofancy and sophisticated! I can't wait to use it the next time my grandparents take me out for a fancy dinner.Overall, this unit has been an incredible journey around the world, and I've learned so much about different cultures, customs, and ways of life. It's made me really appreciate the diversity of our planet and has sparked a desire in me to travel and experience these amazing places for myself someday.Who knows, maybe I'll even get to ride a camel across the desert or try my hand at making authentic sushi! Either way, I'm grateful to Ms. Johnson and this unit for opening my eyes to the wonders of the world beyond our little town.I can't wait to see what other adventures await us in the next unit!Yours truly,[Your Name]篇6Dear Aunt Emily,How are you doing? I hope you and Uncle Frank are both well. Things here have been pretty busy lately with school andactivities. I'm writing to tell you all about what we've been learning in English class this semester. In our English textbook, we just finished Unit 3 which was all about writing different types of letters and communicating effectively. It was really interesting to learn the proper formats and styles for letters like cover letters for job applications, letters to the editor, and friendly letters like this one.Mrs. Thompson, my English teacher, had us practice writing all sorts of letters. First we learned how to properly format a business letter, with the date, receiver's address, salutation, body paragraphs, complimentary close, and our signature. We had to write pretend cover letters applying for different fun jobs like zookeeper, professional basketball player, and videogame designer. My dream job used to be professional soccer player, but I think I've changed my mind after this unit. I really enjoyed writing the cover letter for a veterinarian position! In the body paragraphs, I highlighted how I am a responsible person who loves caring for animals. I told them about how I help my neighbors by walking their dogs when they're at work. I also mentioned that I volunteered at the animal shelter over spring break, feeding the cats and dogs and cleaning their cages.Getting to write about my passion for working with animals made me realize that's what I'd really love to do as a career someday. After we learned business letter format, we moved on to friendly letters like this one. Mrs. Thompson taught us some good ways to start a friendly letter, like:"I hope this letter finds you well.""It's been too long since we last spoke.""Thank you for your last letter."Then she had us go through and peer edit each other's friendly letter drafts. We looked for good use of personal pronouns, conversational language, questions for the recipient, and creative closing statements. I got comments that I needed to work on varying my sentence structure more. Good feedback to keep in mind for next time! The last type of letter we learned was a letter to the editor. Can you believe kids our age actually write those and get them published in local newspapers sometimes? Mrs. Thompson had us all pick a topic we cared about, like environemental protection, school lunch quality, or park maintenance. Then we wrote persuasive letters arguing for a change related to that topic.I chose to write my letter about increasing funding for afterschool programs and summer camps. I started by grabbing the reader's attention with a compelling opening statement about how these programs keep kids out of trouble and engage their minds productively. Then I backed up my argument with three body paragraphs full of facts and logic about the benefits of afterschool programs - increasing academic performance, reducing juvenile crime rates, giving working parents a safe place for their kids, etc. I've always loved going to summer camp, so this was a passionate topic for me.When we were done with our letters, a few students were selected to read their "Letters to the Editor" out loud to the class.I was one of the students picked, and I was pretty nervous! Public speaking is not my strong suit. But Itook a deep breath and projected my voice as I read my letter arguing for more afterschool program funding. My classmates gave me a nice round of applause at the end which made me feel proud.Looks like I'd better stop here - this letter is getting quite long! We're actually going on a field trip to the local newspaper headquarters next week to see the printing presses and newsroom. I'll have to tell you all about that next time. Pleasegive my love to Uncle Frank, and scratch Rufus behind the ears for me (I miss that dog!). I'll write again soon!Your nephew,Michael。

Write a Letter in English for Grade FiveDear Teacher,How are you? I hope this letter finds you in good health and high spirits.I am writing to share some exciting news with you. Recently, our class organized a field trip to the zoo, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. We had the opportunity to observe various animals in their natural habitats, learning about their behaviors and habitats. It was fascinating to see how the lions lounged lazily in the sun, while the monkeys swung playfully from branch to branch. Moreover, the trip also taught us the importance of conservation and protecting our environment. We learned that many animals are facing extinction due to loss of habitat and climate change. It made me realize that every little action we take, such as reducing waste and planting trees, can contribute to saving our planet.Apart from the zoo trip, I am also enjoying my studies in school. I particularly like our English classes, wherewe learn new vocabulary and practice speaking and writing skills. I am proud to say that I have improved a lot in my English, and I am now more confident in expressing myself. Thank you for being such a wonderful teacher and guiding us in our academic journey. Your dedication and enthusiasm have greatly influenced me, and I am grateful for your support and encouragement.Looking forward to more exciting learning experiences in the coming days.Wishing you all the best!Sincerely, [Your Name]亲爱的老师:您好吗?希望您收到这封信时身体健康,精神饱满。

以书信格式写一篇英语作文五年级全文共6篇示例,供读者参考篇1Dear Grandma,How are you doing? I miss you so much! It's been a few months since I last saw you. So much has happened that I can't wait to tell you all about it.School has been really fun this year. I'm in 5th grade now which means I'm one of the oldest kids at my elementary school. It's weird being one of the "big" kids after being the little one for so long. The school work is getting harder but I'm trying my best.My favorite subject is still reading. We just finished a really cool book called "The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe" by C.S. Lewis. It's about these four siblings who accidentally wander through an old wardrobe into a magical land called Narnia. In Narnia, it's been winter forever because of the evil White Witch. The kids team up with talking animals and mythical creatures to defeat her and restore the rightful king. I loved all the adventure and fantasy elements. My teacher says the book has Christiansymbolism woven throughout, but I'm not sure I totally understand all of that yet.In math, we're learning long division which is really tricky for me. I just can't seem to get the steps right every time. My dad has been helping me practice with flash cards and word problems. He's a good teacher and is very patient, but I still get frustrated sometimes. I know I'll get it eventually if I keep trying. For science, we just started a unit on ecosystems and food chains. Last week, we went on a field trip to a pond near our school. We got to use nets to catch frogs, insects, and other critters that live in and around the pond. Then we studied them up close and learned about how they all interact as part of the pond's ecosystem. It was really cool to be outdoors and see that stuff in real life rather than just reading about it in a book.In social studies, we're learning about the colonization of America. It's so interesting (and disturbing) to learn about how the European settlers took over lands that were already inhabited by Native Americans. We've read first-hand accounts from people on both sides of the conflicts. I don't know who to root for sometimes because there was violence and injustice committed by everyone. I guess that's just how things were back then. One of the highlights of the school year so far was our annual Science Fair. I did my project on how different liquids affect the growth of plants. Basically, I grew bean plants and watered some with just plain water, some with soda, some with milk, and some with vinegar. The ones with just water grew the best, the soda ones were stunted, the milk ones got all moldy, and the vinegar ones died. My conclusion was that plain water is the ideal liquid for helping plants thrive.I was really proud of my project but there were so many other cool ones too. Tommy built a working volcano that actually erupted with red lava (just really colored vinegar and baking soda). Suzie extracted actual DNA from a strawberry. And Jamal made a crystal radio from basic household items that could actually pick up radio signals! The fair was a blast and I can't wait to do it again next year.Another fun school event was the Colonial Days Festival. For one whole week, we had to dress up like colonial kids from the 1700s. The boys wore knicker pants with vests and the girls wore cotton dresses and bonnets. We learned all about what daily life, school, chores, and games were like back then. The best part was getting to go outside and play colonial games during recess like hoop rolling, marbles, and town ball (an early version of baseball). At the end of the week, we put on a play where we recited passages from the writings of Benjamin Franklin, Phillis Wheatley, and other notable colonial figures. My mom said I made an excellent Patrick Henry! In other big news, my baby sister Lily is starting to walk and talk now. She's absolutely adorable but also incredibly messy and loud! She's gotten really good at saying "Mama" and "Dada" but anything else still just sounds like gibberish. The other day, she somehow managed to cover herself in yogurt from head to toe. I don't know how she pulled that off! My mom had quite the challenge cleaning her up. She's definitely keeping my parents busy, that's for sure.My dog Rufus is doing well too. He's getting older but still loves to play fetch and go for long walks. Sometimes I like to snuggle up with him on the couch and watch movies together. We recently saw the new Toy Story 4 and it was hilarious! Though I don't think Rufus totally understood what was happening. He just liked listening to all the character voices. For my 11th birthday last month, my parents took me and some friends to a trampoline park. It was a massive room filled with wall-to-wall trampolines including some into the walls at an angle for doing flips and tricks. I'm not very coordinated so Ispent most of the time just bouncing around normally. But some of my friends were doing front flips and backflips all over the place! We played trampoline dodgeball too which was exhausting but really fun. Afterwards, we had pizza and cake back at my house. It was one of the best birthdays ever. This summer, our family is planning a road trip to Yellowstone National Park. I've never been to Wyoming before and I'm really excited to see all the geysers, hot springs, and wildlife up close. We're going to stay in a cabin near the park and do lots of hiking and exploring. I'm a little nervous about potentially running into bears, but Mom and Dad say we'll be perfectly safe if we're smart about food storage and making noise on the trails. I'll make sure to pack my camera to get lots of cool nature photos. I can't wait!Well, I could probably go on forever, but I'd better wrap this up before my hand cramps up. I really miss you and hope you're doing okay in your new apartment. Let me know when I can come visit again. I love you!Your grandson,Tommy篇2Dear Friend,How are you doing? I hope this letter finds you well. Today, I want to share with you an exciting adventure I had recently. It all started a few weeks ago when my teacher announced that our class would be going on a field trip to a farm!I was thrilled because I had never been to a real farm before.I had seen pictures of farms in books, but experiencing one firsthand was going to be a whole new adventure. The day of the field trip finally arrived, and we all piled into the school bus, chattering excitedly. The ride to the farm took about an hour, and as we got closer, we could see vast fields stretching out as far as the eye could see. When we arrived, we were greeted by the friendly farmer, Mr. Johnson. He welcomed us to his farm and began to give us a tour. The first stop was the barn, where we saw all sorts of animals like cows, pigs, and chickens. I even got to pet a gentle cow named Daisy. Her fur was so soft!Next, we visited the vegetable garden, where Mr. Johnson showed us how he grows tomatoes, carrots, and potatoes. I was amazed to see how much work goes into growing our food. We even got to pick some fresh veggies to take home with us.After that, we went to the apple orchard. The trees were laden with ripe, juicy apples, and Mr. Johnson taught us how to properly pick them without damaging the branches. I filled my basket with delicious red apples, and I couldn't wait to try them. One of the highlights of the trip was the hayride. We all climbed onto a tractor-pulled wagon and went for a ride around the farm. As we bounced along, we could see the fields of corn and wheat swaying in the gentle breeze. It was such a peaceful and serene experience. Before we left, Mr. Johnson showed us how to make fresh apple cider. We took turns cranking the press and watched as the juicy apples were squeezed into delicious, sweet cider. It was the best apple cider I had ever tasted! As we rode back to school on the bus, I felt grateful for the opportunity to experience life on a farm. I learned so much about where our food comes from and the hard work that goes into farming. It was a day I'll never forget.I hope you enjoyed reading about my farm adventure. Maybe one day we can go on a field trip together and experience something new and exciting. Until then, take care and have a wonderful day!Your friend,[Your Name]篇3Dear Grandma,How are you doing? I miss you a lot! School has been keeping me really busy lately with all of our projects and activities. But I wanted to write you a nice long letter to tell you everything that's been going on.We just started a really fun new unit in English class. Our teacher Mrs. Parker told us that we're going to be writing letters!I was so excited because I love getting mail from you with all the cool stamps and your pretty handwriting. Now I get to practice writing letters too.Mrs. Parker said the first step is to pick who we want to write our letter to. Well, that was an easy choice for me - you, of course! You're my favorite person in the whole world. I can't wait to put this letter in an envelope and get it ready to mail to you. I'm going to decorate the envelope with stickers and drawings to make it look really nice.Next, Mrs. Parker said we need to think about what to write in our letter. She gave us a list of ideas like telling a funny story, describing our favorite memory, giving an update on what's new in our lives, or just chatting about our thoughts and feelings. I've decided to tell you a little bit about everything that's been happening! One of the biggest things recently is that I got a new pet hamster! His name is Nibbles and he is so tiny and cute. I've wanted a hamster for so long and I was so excited when Mom and Dad surprised me with him for my 10th birthday last month. Nibbles loves running on his squeaky little wheel and stuffing his cheeks full of sunflower seeds. I have to be very gentle and careful when holding him.At school, we also just had our big science fair project. I worked so hard on my project about the life cycle of butterflies. I even raised my own Painted Lady caterpillars and watched them go into their chrysalises and then emerge as beautiful orange and black butterflies! It was amazing to see it happen right before my eyes. I documented the whole process with photos and drawings. For the fair, I made a poster board showing all the stages with my pictures. I also brought in my caterpillar hatcheryand two of the butterflies in a safe container so people could see them up close. I was really proud of all my hard work! The science fair was just one of many fun activities we've had at school recently. A few weeks ago, we also had an amazing field trip to the History Museum downtown. We got to see all sorts of cool old artifacts and learn about what life was like a long time ago. My favorite exhibit was the recreated 19th century classroom篇4Dear Grandpa,How are you doing? I miss you a lot! It's been too long since I last saw you. I have so much to tell you about school and my friends.School just started up again after the summer holiday. I was really excited to go back and see all my classmates. I missed hanging out with them and playing at recess. Summer was fun, but it felt too long without being around my friends every day.My teacher this year is Mrs. Johnson. She seems really nice so far. She has a big smile and is always laughing. But I've alsoheard she can be pretty strict about homework and paying attention in class. I'll have to be on my best behavior! On the first day, we had to go around the room and introduce ourselves and say what we did over the summer. When it was my turn, I stood up and said my name is Michael and that I went to summer camp for two weeks. It was a camp all about science and we got to do tons of cool experiments. My favorite was the one where we made little rockets out of paper and launched them across the room using just a pump! I'm really interested in science and technology.I also told everyone that over the summer, I read a few of the Harry Potter books for the first time. I've seen the movies, but the books are even better. They have so much more detail and background information. My favorite character is Hermione because she is so smart and good at magic. I want to be just like her when I grow up - well, except for the magic part since that isn't real. But I do hope I can be just as brilliant as she is.After I finished talking, a bunch of other kids raised their hands and said they love Harry Potter too! I made friends with them right away. We talked about our favorite scenes and characters during recess. It looks like we're going to get along great.Later that week, we had to pick partners for our first big project of the year. It's gonna be a research project on an ancient civilization that we'll work on for the next month. I really wanted to work with my new friends from the Harry Potter group, but they had already formed their pairs before I could ask. I was feeling a little left out.But then this new girl, Emily, came over to me and said "Hey, do you want to work together?" I smiled and quickly said yes. Emily just moved to our school from somewhere far away. She seemed really shy at first and didn't have any friends yet. I was glad I could be the first one to partner up with her.Emily and I decided to do our project on ancient Egypt. We've been spending every day after school planning it out together. First, we have to go to the library and check out a bunch of books on Egypt to read up on the topic. We're going to learn all about the pharaohs, the pyramids, mummies, hieroglyphics, and more! It's gonna be an awesome project. We're planning to build a model of an Egyptian tomb out of paper mache for the final presentation too. We'll have to get started on that part soon. Emily is really good at arts and crafts, so she's going to take the lead on construction. I'll make sure to study up on all the facts and information to go along with it.I'm having a lot of fun working with Emily so far. We've become really good friends already. She's super nice and we have a lot of the same interests. Like me, she's a huge Harry Potter fan! Can you believe it? We can't stop talking about the books every time we get together to work on our project. We're definitely going to be best friends by the time this is all over.I also joined the school choir this year. We just had our first rehearsal yesterday and I really liked it. The choir teacher, Ms. Kelly, is so fun and energetic. She had us playing all these crazy warm-up games with our voices. We had to pretend to be sirens one minute, then sound like lawnmowers or bags of chocolate chips being shaken up. It was hilarious watching everyone make those goofy noises! After we warmed up, we started learning our first song that we'll be performing at the school's holiday concert in a few months. It's a big multi-part arrangement of "Jingle Bells." It sounds really pretty but it's also quite hard since there are so many complicated harmonies. I'm a little nervous I won't be able to get it perfect in time.Luckily, Ms. Kelly put me in the soprano section which has the highest and simplest part. I may be small, but I can hit those high notes no problem! We sopranos just need to listen carefullyand match the alto and tenor parts which are doing the trickier melodies. I'll make sure to practice hard so I don't let my section down.I've also joined the chess club this year too. Can you believe they have a chess club at an elementary school? I thought it would be filled with tiny nerdy kids, but there are actually a lot of cool people in it. My friend Carlos is the one who got me interested in chess over the summer. His dad taught him how to play and now Carlos is actually one of the best players on the team!At our first meeting, I really struggled keeping up with the advanced kids like Carlos. I of course know how the pieces move and the basic rules, but they were doing all these crazy strategies and opening moves I'd never seen before. I felt kind of dumb having them beat me over and over again. It was pretty frustrating! But then Carlos's dad, who helps coach the club, pulled me aside afterwards. He told me not to get discouraged and that I just need more practice against stronger players to get better. He said I'm picking it up way faster than he did at my age. He even offered to give me private lessons once a week! With Mr. Rodriguez's help, I know I'll be beating Carlos in no time.So that's what my life is like so far this new school year, Grandpa. Lots of fun activities and new friends! I'm keeping super busy between homework, my projects, choir practice, and chess club. Mom and Dad have to remind me ten times a day to get my work done before playing. But I don't mind too much since I'm having a blast!I really miss you though. You have to come visit us soon so you can meet all my friends and see me in the holiday choir concert. I'll give you a private encore performance afterwards - but only if you bake those delicious peanut butter cookies you always make! I'm going to hold you to that.Well, I should get going for now and start my math homework before Mom yells at me again. But I'll write you again very soon, Grandpa! I love you!Your grandson,Michael篇5Dear Jenna,How are you? I'm writing to tell you all about the exciting things that happened during my summer vacation! We didn't go anywhere too far away, but I still had a ton of fun adventures. The first big event was my cousin Amy's birthday party. She turned 10 years old, so it was a really special celebration. The party was at a trampoline park - have you ever been to one of those? It's this huge warehouse filled with trampolines everywhere! The floor, the walls, even angled trampolines to jump off at all angles.Amy's parents rented out the entire place just for the party. Can you believe that? There must have been 30 kids jumping around nonstop for two hours straight. We played dodgeball on the trampolines, did flips and tricks, and I even attempted a front flip (spoiler alert: I totally bailed and landed right on my butt). By the end, we were all exhausted but it was so much fun. After the party, we went back to Amy's house for cake and presents. Her cake was in the shape of a unicorn! It was bright pink frosting with colorful sprinkles. The horn was a sparkly ice cream cone and the mane and tail were made of cotton candy. It looked almost too amazing to eat...but of course we all devoured it.For presents, Amy got lots of Lego sets, art supplies, books, and clothes. But her favorite gift was from her parents - a brand new bike! It had sky blue frames with streamers on the handlebars and a cute little bell. Amy was jumping up and down she was so excited. I'm a little jealous to be honest. Maybe I'll get a new bike for my birthday next year!A couple weeks later, my family took a day trip to the beach. We don't live too far from the ocean, but we hadn't gone all summer. It was a beautifully sunny day, perfect for swimming and building sandcastles.First, we set up our umbrella, chairs, and towels on the sand. Then I covered myself in sunscreen from head to toe - I did not want to get sunburnt! After that, it was straight into the cool, refreshing water. The waves were pretty big that day, maybe 4 or 5 feet tall, so my dad and I had fun jumping over them. At one point, I timed it wrong and the wave crashed right over my head!I was drenched but thought it was hilarious. We also buried my little brother up to his neck in the sand and decorated him with seaweed and shells to look like a mermaid. He didn't find it quite as funny as the rest of us did. Towards the end of the day, I challenged my dad to a sandcastle building contest. Mine had a moat and several towers, while hishad a cute little window and flag on top. In the end, we agreed that his looked more like an actual castle, so he won that time. But I'll get him next year!On our way back home, we stopped at our favorite ice cream shop and I got a double scoop of cotton candy and fudge brownie flavors. So delicious! I was completely tuckered out by the time we got home, but it was such a fun beach day.The last really exciting thing that happened was camping in our backyard! Just me, my dad, and our tent. We pitched it together, got our sleeping bags all rolled out, and then built a campfire. Did you know it's surprisingly hard to get a good fire going? It probably took us 20 minutes and several tries before we had flames!Once the fire was crackling away, we roasted hot dogs and made s'mores for dinner. I had 3 whole s'mores because they're my favorite! We told spooky stories, spotted constellations in the night sky, and I even got to stay up wayyyy past my bedtime. It felt like we were deep in the wilderness rather than just a few steps from the back door.Around midnight, I finally got a little scared from one of the creepy stories Dad told, so we decided to head inside. Eventhough we were just steps away from my bedroom, it felt like a true camping adventure! I can't wait to do it again next summer.Well, those were the highlights of my summer break. I had such an incredible few months and made so many fun memories.A trampoline birthday party, a beach day, and backyard camping - what could be better than that?? I just know your summer was filled with exciting adventures too. You'll have to tell me allll about it when school starts up again next week!Miss you!Your friend,[Your Name]篇6Dear Aunt Lucy,How are you? I'm writing to tell you all about my life in 5th grade this year! So much has happened already and it's only the middle of the school year. I hope you're doing well in Florida. I miss seeing you, but I'm glad you get to enjoy the warm weather down there instead of our freezing cold winters here in Michigan. The biggest news is that my family got a new puppy! His name is Rufus and he's a golden retriever. He's so cute and fluffy, but also really hyper and loves to chew on everything. Just yesterday he ate one of my shoes! Mom was so mad. I have to be really careful to pick up anything I don't want him to destroy when I get home from school. Taking care of a puppy is a huge responsibility. I have to feed him, let him outside to go to the bathroom, play with him, and even help brush his fur. It's a lot of work but I'm getting used to it. I love coming home and having Rufus greet me with his wagging tail and excited barks.School is okay so far this year. My favorite subject is still science because we get to do a lot of fun experiments and projects. Just last week we made volcanos out of vinegar, baking soda, and modeling clay. It was so cool to watch them "erupt" with the fizzing lava! In reading class we just started a new book called "Holes" about this kid who gets sent to a camp in the desert to dig holes as punishment. It's a weird premise but the book is pretty interesting so far. You'll never believe what happened in gym class last month. We were playing dodgeball when this kid Alex threw a ball and accidentally hit our gym teacher Mr. Wilson right in the stomach! He let out this big "OOF" sound and then fell over on the ground. We all thought he was joking around at first but then he stayed down not moving. An ambulance had to come and take him tothe hospital! Luckily he was okay, just had the wind knocked out of him. But we all felt super bad about it. Alex even cried because he felt so guilty. No more dodgeball for a while though, that's for sure. For my 11th birthday last week, my parents got me a new bike! It's bright green with 21 speeds and a water bottle holder on the frame. I've already gone on a few rides around the neighborhood with it. A couple of my friends from school went biking with me and we made a whole afternoon out of exploring the nearby park trails. Just be careful because my legs were SO sore the next day from pedaling so much! The bike is awesome though and I can't wait for it to get warm enough to really take some long rides.Oh, I almost forgot the biggest news! My class is going on a big field trip next month to an aquarium and science museum a couple hours away. I've never been to this aquarium before but I've heard it's huge and has sharks, rays, and all sorts of cool sea life. We'll get to walk through a glass tunnel with the aquarium surrounding us on all sides. How cool is that?! At the science museum part, we'll get to do interactive exhibits about space, dinosaurs, the human body, and more. I'm most excited for the space section where you can experience what it's like to walk onthe moon. My class has been doing bake sales and car washes to help raise money so all the students can go. I really hope I raise enough to be able to attend. It would be such an awesome experience!Well, that's all the updates I can think of for now. Please write back soon and let me know how you're doing in Florida! I'll be sure to send you some pictures from the aquarium field trip if I get to go.Love,Your nephew Michael。

五年级下册第三单元作文英语写信

五年级下册第三单元作文英语写信全文共6篇示例,供读者参考篇1Dear Diary,Today, our English teacher Mrs. Robinson taught us about letter writing as part of our third unit in the second semester. It was really exciting because I love writing letters! I still remember the first time I wrote a letter – it was to my grandparents who live far away. Mom helped me craft it, and seeing the joy on their faces when they received it made me realize how special letter writing can be.Mrs. Robinson started the lesson by showing us different types of letters – formal letters, informal letters, letters to friends and family, and even letters to companies or officials. She explained that each type of letter has its own structure and style. For example, formal letters require a proper greeting like "Dear Sir/Madam," while informal letters can start with a casual "Hi" or "Hey there!"Next, she taught us the essential parts of a letter: the heading (which includes the sender's address and date), thegreeting, the body (where the main content goes), and the closing (like "Sincerely" or "Best regards"). I never knew there were so many rules to follow! Mrs. Robinson emphasized the importance of using appropriate language and tone based on who the letter is addressed to.One of the most interesting things I learned was about the different purposes of letter writing. Letters can be written to share news, express gratitude, request information, apply for a job or program, or even complain about something. Mrs. Robinson showed us examples of each type, and we had to identify the purpose and analyze the language used. Then, it was our turn to practice! Mrs. Robinson gave us a scenario where we had to write a letter to our best friend, telling them about our recent family vacation. I had so much fun describing our trip to the beach, the delicious seafood we ate, and the funny incident when my little brother got caught in a wave and lost his swimming trunks! I tried to make my letter lively and engaging, using descriptive language and a friendly, conversational tone. After we finished our drafts, Mrs. Robinson asked a few of us to read our letters aloud. It was great to hear everyone's unique writing styles and perspectives. Some letters were hilarious, whileothers were more serious and heartfelt. Mrs. Robinson provided feedback on our use of grammar, vocabulary, and the overall structure of our letters. Before the class ended, she reminded us about the importance of letter writing in today's digital age. While we may communicate more through texts, emails, and social media, there's something special about receiving a handwritten letter. It shows effort, thoughtfulness, and a personal touch that electronic communication can't quite replicate.I'm really glad we learned about letter writing in our English class. It's not just a practical skill for communication, but also a way to express ourselves creatively and connect with others on a deeper level. Who knows, maybe I'll start a pen pal relationship with someone from another country and practice my letter writing skills while learning about their culture!I can't wait to write more letters and share my thoughts and experiences with loved ones. Tonight, I think I'll surprise my parents by writing them a heartfelt letter, thanking them for their love and support. After all, a well-written letter can truly brighten someone's day and strengthen relationships.Until next time, diary!Your friend,[Your Name]篇2Dear Grandma,How are you doing? I hope you and Grandpa are staying healthy and happy. Things have been pretty busy here with school and activities, but I'll try to fill you in on everything that's been going on lately.Let me start by telling you about what we've been learning in English class. We just finished a really fun unit all about writing letters! Did you know there are different formats and stylesyou're supposed to use depending on if it's a friendly letter or a formal/business letter? It was interesting to learn all the little rules. For friendly letters like this one, you start with the heading which has your address and the date. Then you put "Dear" followed by who you're writing to. The body is where you write all the main information you want to share. And finally you have the closing like "Your grandson," and then your name.Formal letters have some extra parts like a specialized greeting instead of "Dear", adding a colon after the greeting, really clearly stating the main purpose right after the greeting, indenting paragraphs, and using a different closing phrase. It seems like a lot of little details to remember! As a practice assignment, our teacher had us write friendly letters to a friend or family member describing our favorite activities and hobbies. I decided to write mine to you to update you on some of the fun things I've been up to outside of school. One of my biggest hobbies right now is playing sports, especially basketball and soccer. I'm on the school basketball team and we actually just won the city championship last month! It was such an exciting game. We were tied until the last few seconds when my teammate Michael shot a three-pointer to put us ahead. The entire team dogpiled on him after that shot went in. I've never experienced a feeling quite like that before.Soccer season is just getting started now in the spring. We have practice a couple times a week after school. Our first game is next weekend and I'm a little nervous, but mostly really excited. I'll let you know how it goes. I've been working on my dribbling skills to hopefully score some goals. When I'm not playing sports, I also really enjoy reading and watching movies, especially anything with superheroes or adventure. My favorite book series is Harry Potter (I'm re-reading the 5th book for the third time right now). And my favorite movies are the Marvel superhero films like the Avengers, Spider-Man, Black Panther, and the new Doctor Strange movie that just came out. I'm hoping Mom and Dad will take me to see it soon - the special effects are supposed to be incredible.I'm also teaching myself coding and building websites. I took an intro coding class last year and found it really interesting, so I've been using tutorials online to keep learning and practicing. Eventually I want to create my own apps and programs. Just this past weekend I built a simple website about my favorite basketball team. It's nothing too fancy yet, but I'm proud of myself for figuring out HTML, CSS, and JavaScript enough to make a couple of pages with team info, stats, and highlights videos.School keeps me pretty busy too, of course. My favorite subjects are math, science, and English. I actually really enjoyed the recent unit we did on writing opinion essays and persuasive speeches. For the final speech, I argued why students should have recess twice per day instead of just once. I had a bunch offacts about how more outdoor play and activity helps kid's focus better, reduces behavior issues, improves physical health, and allows kids to get out all their pent-up energy. I don't think my argument fully persuaded the principal to make any schedule changes, but my teacher said my speech was convincing! In science, we've been learning all about the water cycle - evaporation, condensation, precipitation. We even did an experiment making our own little water cycles in plastic bottles. It was really cool to see the models in action with the vapor condensing into water droplets then falling like rain. Next up we'll be moving on to studying weather systems and severe storms like hurricanes, blizzards, and tornadoes. I have a feeling those topics will be interesting but maybe a little scary too.Well, I think I've covered most of the major things I've been up to lately with school, sports, hobbies, and other activities. Thank you for always taking such a great interest in my life, Grandma. I really appreciate having you to share updates with. Please give my love to Grandpa! I'll write again soon.Your loving grandson,Michael篇3Dear Grandma,How are you doing? I'm writing to tell you all about my life here at school and everything that's been going on lately. There's so much to share with you!First off, I have to tell you about the big science fair we had last month. For my project, I decided to see which materials make the best insulation. I took four boxes and lined them with different materials - aluminum foil, bubble wrap, styrofoam, and towels. Then I put an ice cube in each one and timed how long it took to fully melt. The results were really cool! The styrofoam kept the ice frozen the longest by far. The towels were the worst insulator and that ice cube melted super fast. I decided to present my findings by making a big poster with photos of the experiment, graphs showing the melting times, and an explanation of why some materials are better insulators than others. I worked so hard on it!On the day of the fair, I set up my project display and got to walk around to see what all the other 5th graders had done. There were some amazing projects - one kid even built a little robot that could sort items into bins by color! The judgesseemed to really like my insulation project though, and I ended up winning 3rd place overall. I was so proud! In other news, our reading group just started the best book. It's called "The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe" by C.S. Lewis. Have you ever read the Chronicles of Narnia series, Grandma? It's all about these four siblings - Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy - who go through an old wardrobe and end up in a magical land called Narnia. In the first book, they team up with talking animals to defeat the evil White Witch who has cursed Narnia to eternal winter. We've been stopping every few chapters to discuss the symbolism, make predictions about what will happen next, and really analyze the themes and writing style. Our teacher, Ms. Roberts, is having us keep reader response journals too. I've been filling mine with quotes I love, questions I have, and just my general thoughts and reactions. My favorite part so far is when Lucy first arrives in Narnia and meets Mr. Tumnus, the faun. The way Lewis describes the lamppost in the snowy woods, and Lucy's curiosity and bravery as she follows the faun to his cave...it's all so vivid and captivating!I can't wait to see how the rest of the story unfolds.Even with the reading and schoolwork though, I've still found time for fun with my friends. Last weekend, we all went roller skating at the rink downtown. I'm actually getting pretty decent at it now! I can skate backwards anddo some spins and everything. Although I did fall once pretty hard when Jessica accidentally ran into me...that left a lovely bruise on my knee. But no big deal, accidents happen!Oh, and you'll never guess what! Josh Adams asked me to be his girlfriend! Can you believe it? We've been friends for years, but I never thought he liked me that way. Apparently he's had a crush on me since 3rd grade. Too funny! I said yes of course, he's one of the sweetest guys I know. Although I'm not sure I'm ready for actual dating yet. We're just going to hang out together more, you know, hold hands at recess, maybe go to a movie sometime if our parents allow it. Baby steps!I should wrap this up so you can get to the rest of your day, Grandma. Thank you as always for the 5 you send me each month for my allowance - you're the best! I used this month's money to download some fun new music and apps. Technology is so cool these days.Well, I have to run - time for my piano lesson then basketball practice later. I'm trying my hardest to make the travel teamagain this year. Wish me luck! I'll write again soon to let you know how it all goes. Say hi to Grandpa for me and give both of yourselves a big hug!Love,Emily篇4Dear Aunt Mary,How are you doing? I hope you and Uncle Tom are staying healthy and safe. Things have been pretty busy here with school and all my activities. I wanted to write and tell you about what I've been up to lately. In English class, we just started a new unit on letter writing. The teacher says it's an important skill to be able to write formal letters as well as friendly, informal ones to friends and family. For our first assignment, she had us write a friendly letter to a relative updating them on our lives. That's why I'm writing to you!School has been going well overall. My favorite subjects are still math and science. In math, we've been learning about fractions and decimals. It was pretty confusing at first, but I'mstarting to get the hang of it. We do a lot of hands-on activities with fraction strips and drawings which really helps me visualize what we're working on.In science, we just started a unit on ecosystems and habitats. It's been really interesting learning about how plants, animals, and the environment all interact and depend on each other. Last week, we went on a field trip to a local nature reserve. We got to explore the different habitats and observe the living andnon-living things there. My favorite part was looking at samples from the pond under the microscopes back in the classroom. It was amazing seeing all the tiny organisms!I'm also really enjoying my after-school activities. I'm still playing soccer which is a lot of fun. Our team has some big games coming up soon so we've been practicing really hard. I've also joined the school's coding club this year. We're learning programming basics and creating simple games and apps. It's challenging but satisfying when you get something to work properly after debugging errors. Coding club has made me even more interested in possibly pursuing computer science or engineering when I get to college.Outside of school, I've been keeping busy with chores and spending time with friends. My best friend Jessica lives just downthe street so I get to see her a lot. We love having sleepovers, watching movies, and just hanging out. Jessica's little brother can be annoying sometimes but he's actually pretty funny when he's not bugging us.Last weekend, Mom and Dad took us all camping at the state park a couple hours away. It was my first time going camping and sleeping in a tent. I was a little nervous about it at first, but it ended up being a lot of fun! We went on some nice hikes, made s'mores over the campfire, and I even caught a fish in the lake (and threw it back after). Sleeping under the stars and surrounded by nature was such a peaceful experience. It did get pretty cold at night though so I'm glad I packed plenty of warm clothes and a good sleeping bag. That's about all my major updates for now. I'm looking forward to your next visit when you can hear more stories and I can see you in person! Say hi to Uncle Tom for me.Love,[Your name]篇5Dear Aunt Emily,Hi! How are you doing? I hope you and Uncle Mike are doing well. I'm writing to tell you all about what we've been learning in English class for our third unit this semester. We've been learning how to write letters in English, and my teacher Mrs. Henderson says writing letters is a really important skill. She told us there are a few main types of letters we need to know how to write. The first type is an informal or personal letter, which is what you'd write to friends and family members like you. Informal letters have a very friendly and casual tone. You can use contractions like "I'm", "you're", "didn't", etc. You can also ask questions directly to the person and share personal news, feelings, and opinions. The second type is a formal letter, which has a much more serious tone. You'd write a formal letter for professional situations, like applying for a job or complaining to a company. In formal letters, you have to avoid contractions and casual language. You also can't use pronouns like "I", "you", "we", etc. Instead you have to use formal phrases like "The undersigned...", "Your esteemed company...", and so on.The third kind is a semi-formal letter, which is in between informal and formal. You might write this type of letter to someone you don't know very well, like a teacher, principal, orlocal government official. The language is polite but you can use some contractions and pronouns. Just avoid extremely casual expressions. No matter what type of letter, Mrs. Henderson says they all need to have the same basic sections:The Heading - This has the sender's address and the date. The Greeting / Salutation - How you open the letter, like "Dear Aunt Emily," for informal or "To Whom It May Concern:" for formal. The Body - This is the main content of the letter where you write what you need to say. The body is divided into paragraphs. The Closing / Complimentary Close - How you sign off, like "Yours truly," or "Best regards,".Your Signature - You literally sign your name at the end.So for practice, Mrs. Henderson had us all write an informal letter to a family member this week. Here's what I wrote to you:427 Maple StreetOakwood, CA 93212March 15, 2024Dear Aunt Emily,How are you? I'm writing because I haven't seen you in so long and I miss you! I hope you and Uncle Mike are staying happy and healthy.Things have been pretty good here. School is keeping me really busy between all my classes and extracurricular activities. This semester for English we're learning how to write different types of letters. That's why I wanted to practice writing an informal one to you!In science, we've been learning about the water cycle, which is super interesting. We even did an experiment where we made miniature water cycles in plastic bottles. My group's water cycle worked perfectly and we could see the full cycle of evaporation, condensation, and precipitation happen right inside the bottle. It was really cool to watch! For extracurriculars, I'm still playing soccer twice a week after school. Our team isn't the best but we always have a lot of fun. I'm also in the school band again this year playing the trumpet. We have a big concert coming up in May so we've been practicing a lot. Hopefully it goes well!In other news, Buddy has been driving mom and dad crazy as usual. Just last week, he somehow got into the bathroom and unrolled an entire roll of toilet paper all over the house. Can you believe that silly dog?? He's lucky he's so cute.Anyway, I hope you and Uncle Mike can come visit us again soon. Maybe this summer? We could go to the waterpark again like we did a couple years ago. That was so much fun! I miss spending time with you guys.Well, I should get going and start my homework. Give my love to Uncle Mike! I'll make sure to write again soon.Love,[Your name]So that's the informal letter I wrote for the assignment. I think it turned out pretty well following the format Mrs. Henderson taught us. Informal letters are a lot more fun to write than formal ones since you can be casual and friendly.Formal letters are harder because you have to be so proper and avoid using contractions or pronouns. You also can't really joke around or get too personal. Those letters are more for serious situations where you have to be very polite andto-the-point.For the semi-formal letters, you have to strike a balance between being polite but still reasonably casual. Not too formal, but not too informal either. I could see myself writing asemi-formal letter to a teacher about joining an extracurricular activity or something like that.Overall, I'm glad we're learning about the different letter formats and when to use them. Being able to communicate clearly in writing is such an important skill, no matter what type of letter you're writing. Who knows, maybe one day I'll even have to write a formal letter for a job application!Anyway, that's all I wanted to share about our letter writing unit so far. Let me know if you have any other questions! I'll talk to you again soon.Lots of love,[Your name]篇6Dear Journal,Another school week has flown by, and I'm feeling both excited and a little anxious about the new unit we're starting in English class – writing letters! Mrs. Wilson says this is animportant life skill that we'll use all the time as we grow older. I can already think of a few situations where I might need to write a letter, like sending a thank-you note after receiving a gift or applying for a job someday. But for now, we're going to focus on friendly letters to friends and family. On Monday, Mrs. Wilson started the class by showing us some examples of friendly letters. I was surprised by how much detail and structure goes into them! There's the heading with the sender's address and date, then the greeting line, body paragraphs, closing line, and signature. It seems like a lot of little pieces to remember. The heading is pretty straightforward – just my address and the current date. But Mrs. Wilson said we have to be careful to write the date properly, like "April 15, 2024" instead of "15/4/24." The greeting line was new to me. Apparently, you can't just write "Hey Sara!" like I would in a text. Friendly letters have more formal greetings like "Dear Sara," or "Hello Sara."Then we got into the body, which is the main part of the letter where we'll write our messages and updates. Mrs. Wilson said a good body paragraph should have:A topic sentence that introduces the main ideaSupporting details and examplesA concluding sentenceWe practiced writing body paragraphs about our spring break activities. I wrote about my family's camping trip to Lake Arrowhead. My topic sentence was "My family and I went camping over spring break." Then I included details like where we camped, what activities we did, and how much fun I had roasting marshmallows by the campfire. The closing line was confusing at first. Why can't I just write "Bye!" like I normally would? Mrs. Wilson explained that closing lines are more formal, like "Sincerely," "Best wishes," or "Your friend." We have to choose something that matches the tone and recipient of our letter. Finally, there's the signature at the very end. This is just our first and last name, easy enough. Although Mrs. Wilson warned us that our signatures need to be neat and legible since this represents us professionally.Whew, writing a friendly letter suddenly seemed so intricate! But Mrs. Wilson reassured us that with some practice, it would become second nature. Our homework for the night was to writea rough draft of a letter to a friend or family member describing a funny or memorable experience from the last year. The next day in class, we revised and edited our letters to fix any mistakes before writing a final copy on nice stationery that Mrs. Wilson provided. I chose to write to my cousin Ryan, who lives a few states away, about the hilarious time last summer when our dog Rufus ate an entire tray of cupcakes while we weren't looking!I have to admit, once I got the format down, it was kind of fun putting my stories into letter form. There's something satisfying about expressing yourself through the written word instead of texts or conversations. Mrs. Wilson said letter-writing promotes better grammar, vocabulary, and communication skills. For the rest of the week, we kept practicing with different friendly letter prompts and situations:Inviting a friend to your birthday partyThanking a relative for a giftUpdating a pen pal about your lifeDescribing an upcoming school eventWith each practice letter, I felt more comfortable following the format and figuring out how to organize my thoughts into concise paragraphs. On Friday, Mrs. Wilson taught us about the different styles of letters like informal notes, formal business letters, and evenold-fashioned love letters (we all giggled at those gushy examples!). She said for now we'll focus on mastering friendly letters, but we'll explore those other styles later this year. Before I knew it, the writing portion of our letters unit was already wrapping up. For our final assessment, Mrs. Wilson assigned us to write a special friendly letter – a "Thank You" letter to someone who has made a positive impact on our lives. I'm going to write mine to my older brother Jason, who always takes time to help me with my homework and give me advice. As I start brainstorming what to include in my thank-you letter to Jason, I realize how powerful the written word can be for expressing gratitude and appreciation. Even a simple friendly letter suddenly seems more meaningful. I'm glad Mrs. Wilson is teaching us this valuable communication skill while we're young.Who knows, maybe I'll even write real letters and mail them the old-fashioned way sometimes instead of constantly texting and emailing. There's something more personal and specialabout receiving a handwritten letter, don't you think? I'm feeling inspired to start writing more!Well, that's all for this English lesson journal entry. Mastering the art of friendly letter writing was challenging at first, but also rewarding. I can't wait to put my new skills into practice and who knows – maybe become a pen pal extraordinaire!Your friend,[Your name]。

【篇五】小学五年级英语书信作文
Dear Mercy,
How is everything going!Last time you said you are anxious now because you find it hard to learn English well.Don’t worry.I think you have to improve your English step by ste p.And I will right behind you.In my view, you should develop you interest on English first.According to my experience,I think watching English movie, listen to some wonderful English songs and talk in English on the Internet would be helpful.Secondly, you have to prepare lessons before class that will help you understand what the teacher says in the class.I know you feel bored in the class, but you have force yourself to be concentrated.A few days later you will feel it a little easy to learn English. The left steps I will tell next time.By the way,we have not seen each other since your family move to Hunan a year ago.Have you ever thought about going back to visit me and learn English together in the coming Summer vacation.Looking forward to your reply.
Best wishes,
Sally。
