做一个幽默的英语老师
听过不少的英语公开课,看到很多女英语老师在课堂上的表现,我经常感觉“羡慕嫉妒恨”,甚至怀疑自己一个大老爷们教英语,是不是入错行了。
女英语教师往往具备温柔、细腻的教学风格,语音语调很好听,一节课用英语循循善诱、娓娓道来,坐在下面的学生如沐春风,十分享受。
然而,男英语老师也有自己的特色,那就是——幽默。
男英语老师的英语课堂往往充满激情,风趣幽默,这同样也能达到吸引学生的目的。
根据调查显示,最受学生欢迎的老师的诸多特性中,“幽默”排名第一。
很多老师知道这一点,也想让自己的课堂“幽上一默”,但事实上,要想做到这一点,却并不容易。
现在结合我本人的教学体验,就如何“幽默成精”,谈以下几点感受:
一、热爱生活,热爱教育
一位阳光的、对生活和工作始终充满激情的老师,一进入教室,也许就能给学生一种积极的感受。
学生一看到老师,就喜笑颜开,还没上课,学生的情绪就比较“激动”。
这时候,老师的一举一动、一言一行,只要稍微带点“诙谐”的特质,就可以引发学生开怀一笑。
由此可见,我们当老师的,平时对待生活、对待工作的心态十分重要。
当下,社会环境和教育环境可能都不尽如人意,但越是如此,就越需要我们老师有一个良好的心态,有一颗善于发现生活和工作乐趣的愉悦之心。
当我们以真实的良好心态面对学生,并把自己的一份好心情带给学生,这样就能为“幽默课堂”提供最有力的前提保障了。
二、调节情绪,学会“变脸”
人的一生不可能一帆风顺,人的一天也会有诸多繁杂事务缠身。
英语老师也是人,也有七情六欲,也有喜怒哀乐。
当我们遇到令人恼怒的事情,自然会带着不良情绪进入教室。
现在的学生很机灵,善于察言观色,一看我们英语老师灰着脸,心里难免忐忑不安,因此课堂气氛难免变得凝重,课堂教学双边活动无法轻松开展。
更有甚者,极个别英语老师总是习惯性地把自己在日常生活中所遭受到的不公平之事或令人恼怒之事,在英语课堂上逮住违规的学生,往其身上出气,一节好端端的英语课,可能就成了英语老师不良情绪的发泄课,这样对学生的学习既不利,更不公平。
所以,我们老师要想“幽默成精”,势必要求我们学会“变脸”,学会及时调节自己的不良情绪。
做到不管自己的内心有多难受,也尽量以微笑姿态先完成课堂教学。
三、幽默有度,服务教学
有时候,我们的英语课堂也处处洋溢着笑声,整整一节课,学生们从头笑到尾,笑得人仰马翻,东倒西歪。
但一旦冷静下来,回顾一下,却发现刚才充满如此激情与乐趣的课,学生并没有掌握多少东西,很多生词依然不会念,很多核心句型依然不会运用,当堂课的教学目标其实根本没有落实,而被表面的活跃与喧嚣掩盖了。
因此,我们不要为了幽默而幽默,我们追求幽默课堂的目的,应该是为了更好的调节课堂气氛,吸引更多的学生参与到课堂教学活动中,让学生保有更激昂的情绪完成英语课堂的诸多教学任务,最终促就我们教学目标的达成。
此时,我们英语老师犹如一个乐队的指挥,纵观全局,运筹帷
幄,精致掌控课堂整体进度,适度调整学生的兴奋度和课堂气氛,让学生在相对和谐、轻松的状态下完成学习。
四、善于模仿,勤于上网
有些人是天生幽默,但绝大部分老师若想拥有幽默风趣的谈吐举止,则需要在后天模仿习得。
例如,我们在(反复)观看Rowen Atkinson 所扮演的“憨豆先生”时,我们不妨就模仿他的令人忍俊不禁的肢体语言、面部表情等。
还有周星驰的系列喜剧电影,包括众多相声小品表演艺术家的作品,都可以成为我们的学习资源。
我们可以通过观看与揣摩,将其幽默元素与精华据为己用。
尤其是在上英语口语课时,表演因素占据相当大的比重,此时我们老师略带夸张的表演,往往能够起到很好的示范和鼓动作用,学生在开怀一笑的同时,也愿以更大的激情参与英语口语交际。
此外,处于网络时代的学生所获得的信息量是爆炸性的,这就要求我们英语老师也要勤于上网,不断吸收网络知识,追踪新潮事物,在英语课堂上善于运用最新网络信息与资讯,以拉近师生间距离,增加英语课堂的诙谐度,让学生对我们老师刮目相看,从而达到“亲其师,信其道”的效果。
个性鲜明的老师,培养出富有创新精神的学生;幽默风趣的老师,培养出乐观积极的学生。
在应试教育依然盛行的今天,但愿我们每一位老师,都能怀着一颗童心,以幽默风趣的风格,让自己修炼成精,让学生学得轻松、学得快乐。
