初中生英语朗诵文章初中生英语朗诵文章篇(1) Sports do us good in many respects (TS). It goes without saying that taking exercises can build up our physical strength. In collective sports like basketball, volleyball, or football, we will learn the importance of cooperation. While taking part in sports game, we will try our best to win and arouse ourselves the competitive spirit. Sports can also help us relax after a period of exhausting work. However, as the saying goes, there are two sides to everything, and sports is without exception. We may hurt other players or ourselves if we are not careful enough when participating in sports activities. Whats more, excessive or severe training can do harm to our health. My participation in sports tells me that sports can make us healthy both physically and psychologically. It is also a good way for people to know each other and can promote friendship between people. So long as we are carefully enough, sports can do us nothing but good.初中生英语朗诵文章篇(2) As a middle school student, usually Im busy and have no time to do other things. But in my spare time, I like reading and traveling. I think theyre fit for me.A good book is a friend who never turns his back upon us. Reading makes me get a lot of knowledge. I usually read classics. They improve my philological ability(语言能力) and makes me know much different philological style in different countries.Well, traveling is good, too. Ive been to many cities.I think I am just like a modern Xu Xiake(徐霞客). It opens up my eyes to the outside world, and makes me feel many different customs. In 2022, at the age of ten, I went to Beijing to take part in a chorus(合唱) competition by myself. It was my first time to travel without my parents. At first I felt very excited. I had a very heavy bag, and I had to carry it on my back. Then on the train, I couldnt go to sleep.I missed my home and my parents, and my tears rolled down my face. In Beijing, I visited a lot of places of interest. In my opinion, Beijing, the capital of China, is a mixture of modern civilization and ancient civilization. In Beijing Science Museum, I got a lot of knowledge. Also,I got a lot from other activities.Life may be sour, sweet, bitter or hot. It gives us different feelings. Life is like a poem, which gives us taste; life is as beautiful as songs; life is also like paintings, and it is very colorful!初中生英语朗诵文章篇(3) My grandma lived in the country twelve years ago. At that time, I often went to visit my grandparents with my parents during the holidays. Although I was very young then, now I can still remember a lot of things there clearly.I was very glad when we went to the country. I enjoyed seeing the beautiful things in the countryside. My grandpa grew many kinds of vegetables in his garden, such as cabbages, tomatoes, potatoes and carrots. Every morning,he fetched water from a river, and then watered the vegetables. Grandpa took good care of his vegetables as if they were his children. When autumn came, the garden was covered with greenery(绿色植物). Grandpa was always happy to see that. My grandma kept many chickens. They were all very lively. I liked playing with them; sometimes I had dinner with them playing around. I always thought they loved me.There was a small forest near my grandparents house. The trees were very thick. I usually played with my cousin in the woods after a meal. We could hear the birds singing in the trees and see many small animals playing in the grass. The air in the woods was fresh because of the trees. We usually played a game called Mud Fighting(打泥仗). First,we made mud balls. The more, the better; the bigger, the better. Then, we threw them at each other. The person who hit the other person first was the winner. We liked the game though it made our clothes dirty. In front of the woods, there was a small river. The water in the river was very clean and not very deep. In summer, it was quite cool. However, it became warm in winter. I could see many fishes in the river. Sometimes,my grandpa caught some fishes for supper. How delicious they were! There was a bridge which was made of stone over the river. I could go across the bridge to the other side. There were also many beautiful flowers and lines of trees on the banks of the river.Eight years ago my grandparents moved to the city and Ive never gone to that village. However, I still remember it. I love the village and everything there and I willremember it forever!。

初三英语课文诵读

初三英语课文诵读

How do you learn bestThis week we asked students at New Star High School about the best ways to learn more English. Many said they learnt by using English. Some students had more specific suggestions. Lillian Li , for example, said the best way to learn new words was by reading English magazines. She said that memorizing the words of pop songs also helped a little. When we asked about studying grammar . she said ,“I never study grammar. It’s too boring.”Wei Ming feels differently. He’s been learning English for six years and really loves it. He thinks studying grammar is a great way to learn a language. He also thinks that watching English movies isn’t a bad way because he can watch the actors say the words. Sometimes, however, he finds watching movies frustrating because the people speak too quickly.Liu Chang said that joining the English club at school was the best way to improve her English . students get lots of practice and they also have fun. She added that having conversations with friends was not helpful at all “we get excited about something and then end up speaking in Chinese.” She said. How I learned to learn EnglishLast year my English class was difficult. First of all, it wasn’t easy for me to understand the teacher when she talked. To begin with, she spoke to quickly, and I couldn’t understand every word. Later on , I realized that it doesn’t matter if you don’t understand every word, I was also afraid to speak in class, because I thought my classmates might laugh at me. I couldn’t always make complete sentences, either. Then I started to watch English-language TV. It helped a lot. I think that doing lots of listening practice is one of the secrets of becoming a good language learner. Another thing that I found very difficult was English grammar so I decided to take lots of grammar notes in every class. Then I started to write my own original sentences using the grammar I was learning. it’s amazing how much this helped. Now I am enjoying learning English and I got an A this term. My teacher is very impressed. How do we deal with our problems?Rich or poor, young or old, we all have problems. And unless we deal with our problems, we can easily become unhappy. Worrying about our problems can affect how we do at school. It can also influence the way we behave with our families. So how do we deal with our problems? There are many ways.By learning to forgetMost of us have probably been angry with our friends. Parents or teachers. Perhaps they said something you didn’t like, or you felt they were unfair. sometimes , people can stay angry for years about a small problem. Time goes by, and good friendships may be lost. When we are angry, however, we are usually the ones affected. Perhaps we have seen young children playing together. Sometimes they have disagreements and decide not to talk to each other. however, this usually does not last for long . this is an important lesson for us: we can solve a problem by learning to forget.By regarding problems as challengesMany students often complain about school. They might feel they have too much work to do sometimes, or think the rules are too strict. We must learn how to change these “problems” into “challenges”. Education is an important part of our development. As young adults, it is our duty to try our best to deal with each challenge in our education with the help of our teachers. My biggest problemMy biggest problem is that I’m too busy. When I was young, I used to have so much time, but these days I get up early and stay in school all day. Then I go right home and eat dinner. Before I started high school, I used to spend a lot of time playing games with my friends ,but I just don’t have the time anymore. In the evening, I used to watch TV or chat with my grandmother, but now I have to study. I love music, and my father used to take me to concerts. These days , I hardly ever have time for concerts. I do my homework and go to bed. I really miss the old days.He used to cause a lot of troubleMartin Murray is a fifteen-year-old boy.He used to be a "problem child",but a recent conversation whit his mother changed his lif. He didn't use to give his mother many problems. However, after his father's death a few years ago, Martin's life became much more difficult. His mother couldn't afford to pay for her child's education. To do this, she had to work, and so was often not at home. His mother looked after him as well as she could. Unfortunately, Martin still cause problems for himself and hie family. He was not interested in studying and he often go into trouble with the police. Luckily, his mother was very patient and didn't give up trying to help him.In the end,she made a difficult decision : to send him to a boy's boarding school. Martin hated it and used to cause a lot of trouble. One day,he told his teacher he wanted to leave the school. Even the teacher agreed that Martin was wasting his time. The head teacher said it was necessary for Martin to talk with his mother. Martin called hie mother, but to his surprise, this phone call changed his life. "It wasexactly what I need," he said. "My mother helped me to understand how much she had given me. She also told me that even though my father was no longer with us, he was watching me and would always take pride in everything good I do. That's when I decided to change. I realize that since my father died, I have been afraid of being alone, and have tried to make my mother my mother pay more attention to me ." Now Martin has really changed. He has been working hard and is now one of the best students in his class. How was he able to change? His mother’s love helped him to feel good about himself ,and as Martin himself says, "It’s very important for parents to be there for their children.Read the following article:The other day, my friends and I talked about the rules that we have in school. At our school , we have to wear uniforms every day. The problem is that all my classmates think the uniforms are ugly. We think young people should look smart and so we would like to wear our own clothes. Our teachers believe that if we did that, we would concentrate more on our clothes than our studies. We disagree. We would feel more comfortable and that is good for studying. If we can’t do that, we should be allowed to design our own uniforms. That would be a good way to keep both teachers and students happyIt’s also probably a good idea for parents to allow teenagers to study in groups during the evening. I know we get noisy sometimes , but we learn a lot from each other. We also think that vacations should be longer. At present they’re too short. Longer vacations would give us time to do things like volunteering. Last summer I had an opportunity to volunteer at the local hospital, but I couldn’t because I had togo back to school. It would be a good experience for me because I want to be a doctor when I’m older.Helping and LearningAt our school,we sometimes have a special day to help st year we went to an old people's home and sang song and performed a play for them. The old people were very happy. We should be allowed to take time to do thing like that more often. For example,we should visit primary school and help teach young students. I want to be a teacher when I'm older,so it would be a great experience for me.Other students would like to do other jobs. For example,my friend Tian Ge wants to write for a newspaper. She should be allowed to volunteer at the newspaper office once a week.On Friday afternoons, many students are sleepy after a long week of classes. Some students should be allowed to have Friday afternoons off to volunteer and help others.Should I be allowed to make my own decisions? Many teenagers have hobbies. But sometimes these hobbies can get in the way of schoolwork, and parents might worry about their child’s success at school. Teenagers often think they should be allowed to practice their hobbies as much as they want. Do you agree?Liu Y u, a fifteen-year-old boy form Shandong, is a running star. He is on his school running team and has always wanted to be a professional athlete. However, his parents won’t allow him to train as much as he would like to. “ Of course we want to see Liu Y u achieve his dreams,” says Mr. Liu , “and we know how much h loves running .that’s great , and my wife and I have watched him in every one of his races. We have nothing against running! But we do think that our son needs to be realistic. Now that he is getting older, he needs to think about what will happen if he doesn’t become a professional runner in the end.”Liu Yu doesn’t really agree. “well, I think I should be allowed to make decisions for myself,” he says. “my parents have always taught me the importance of working hard and not just to do what I enjoy. I understand this. But I’m serious about running. Being a professional runner is the only thing I have every wanted to do.”Mr. and Mrs. Liu believe that Liu Yu should study hard in the evenings, and so they don’t allow him to practice running on school nights. “I know this might seem strict,”says Mrs. Liu, “but we think we’re doing the right thing. He has to understand that very few people van become professional athletes. It’s a very difficult dream to achieve. We don’t allow him to practice every day because wethink he needs to spend time on his homework.”But Liu Yu still does n’t agree. “I know my parents care about me,” he says.”But they are always talking about what will happen if I don’t succeed. But I will succeed! I think I should be allowed to make this decision for myself. Only then will I have a chance of achieving my dream.Dear Knowledgeable,My best friend, Met , has a problem. There is a really important English speech contest for our whole city next month. Our classmates want her to represent the class in the school contest. Everyone is sure she will win. It’s probably true. Mei is very clever and can speak English really well. In fact , she always comes top in the school exams. The problem is that she’s very shy. She doesn’t want to let her friends down, but she’s terrified of speaking in front of other people. She’s my friend, so she can tell me that she’s shy. But she can’t tell everyone that. I don’t think they would believe her. I can’t think of any good advice to give her, but you always come up with good solutions to people’s problems. What do you think I should tell Mei? What do you think I should tell the rest of the students? What would you do if …?Marin Robinson is a famous doctor who has a lot of experience dealing with teenagers. His new book, what would you do if…?come out last month. It gives advice on what to do in lots of different situations here are two pages from the book.AccidentsWhat would you do if you cut yourself by accident? You should cover the cut with a clean cloth and press it hard. If it’s a deep cut, you should see a doctor. If my grandmother fell downstairs and wasn’t moving, I’d hurry to call the hospital first. Is that correct?Yes, speed is very important. Get the medical help first , then make er comfortable and stay with her. What would you do if you burned yourself by accident?Well, first find out how bad it is. Then put the burned area under cold running waterWhat would you do if you injured your knee while running? If I felt some pain, I’d stop exercising. And if it hurt for more than a few days, I’d see a doctor.problemsA friend offers you cigarettes at a party. Of course you should refuse!if I were you , I’d also talk to your friend about the dangers of smoking. Children often think medicine is candy and eat it. You must always hide medicine from children , and you should tell children to ask their parents before they eat “candy ”they find. An “internet friend”has asked if you could meet .you should tell your parents about it, agree to meet in a public place, and you shouldn’t go alone. You get pimples when you are nervous. You should drink lots of water and ask your doctor for advice.Strange events in bell tower neighborhoodOur neighborhood used to be very quiet. However, these days, strange things are happening in our neighborhood and everyone is unhappy. Zhou Gu, the local school teacher, is extremely worried. When he was interviewed by the local newspaper, he said, “every night we hear strange noises outside our window. My wife thinks that if could be an animal, but my friends and I think it must be teenagers having fun. My parents called the police, but they can’t find anything strange. They think it might be wind. I don’t think so!”Zhou Gu’s next door neighbor Qi Hui is unhappy too. “at first , I thought it might be a dog, but I can’t see a dog and I still hear the noises outside.”Everyone in our neighborhood is worried, and everyone has his or her own ideas. There must be something visiting the homes in our neighborhood, but what is it?Unit 6Yellow River FishermanThis is Hong Tao’s latest movie. I like Hong Tao. He’s made some great movies over the years. Unfortunately, this is his worst movie. If you’re looking for entertainment, stay at home and watch TV. Yellow River Fisherman is too long, and it’s really boring. It does have a few good features, though. I thought the fisherman’s wife was really funny.Amy Kim, PhotographyBe sure to see this exhibition at the Lido Gallery. Amy Kim is one of the best-known Chinese photographers in the world today, and some of her mostfamous photos are on display in this exhibition. She really has something for everyone. There are many great photos of people and of the countryside. The few city photographs are less successful. I see the same things every day and they don’t interest me as much. But this is a great show from a world-class photographer. Whatever you do, don’t miss this exhibition.Wild and WindyOver the years, we’ve seen musical groups with pretty strange names come and go. Few have stranger names than this band. As the name suggests, the band has lots of energy. And they play the kind of music that I love to hear. Every song is really loud and you often can’t understand the words, but this is okay because the lyrics aren’t very good. However, these are musicians who make us happy-even on a Monday morning!Unit 6 P.49 Part2Dear Pen Pal,I’m having a great time in Hong Kong, although I have to be honest and say that I prefer Shanghai. Still, it’s a great place to visit and I’m lucky to be here for my six-month English course. Some other students are learning French. I might like to learn it too. What languages would you like to learn? There’s just so much to see and do here. Last night I went to a Chinese music concert. Most of my friends like loud music that they can dance to. I prefer quiet, traditional music, so the concert suited me just fine. What kinds of music do you like? Before the concert we went for Italian food. Do you like it? There are lotsof different kinds of foods here. I don’t know what to try next. What kinds of food do you prefer? My host family is taking me to an Indian film festival next weekend. I’m not sure what to expect because I’ve never seen an Indian film before. Have you? Some people say they’re boring, but others say they’re great. What kinds of films do you prefer?Yours,Lingling Unit 7 P.54 3aTRA VEL SPOTLIGHT: PARISFor your next vacation, why not consider visiting Paris? Paris is the capital of the liveliest cities in Europe. It doesn’t have any beaches or mountains, but there are still many things to do there. For example, it has some fantastic sights, including the Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame Cathedral, one of the most famous churches in the world.Traveling around Paris by taxi can cost a lot of money, but it’s usually convenient to take the underground train to most places. In general, though, France is quite an expensive place. One thing that is not expensive in France, however, is the wine! Most people in France have learned English. But many people don’t like to speak English, especially in Paris. So unless you speak French yourself, it’s best to travel with someone who can translate things for you.Unit 7 P.56 3aDear Ace Travel,My family and I want to take a trip this summer somewhere in eastern China. I hope you can provide we with some information about the kinds of vacations that your firm can offer. We would like to travel to an exciting place and we don’t mind how far we have to go. It has to be a place where we can do lots of outdoor activities; we especially love hiking and swimming, but any kind of outdoor activity is fine. We also need to stay in an inexpensive money by cooking our own meals. The room needs to be big enough for three people. Also, we’d like to stay at a place with a big pool or somewhere near the ocean. Could you please give me some suggestions for vacation spots? Also, please let us know if it’s best to travel by plane, train or bus. We’d like to be away for about three weeks.Thank you very much!S. T. ZhangUnit 8 P.62 3aBeing a volunteer is great!Number 77 High School is home to three very special young people: Li Huiping, Lin Pei and Zhu Ming. These three students all volunteer their time to help other people. This volunteer work takes each of them several hours a week, so it is a major commitment. Huiping loves to read, and she puts this love to good use by working in the after-school care center at her local elementary school. Here, she helps young children to read. Lin Pei loves animals and plans to study to be a veterinarian when he leaves school. Hespends every Saturday morning working in an animal hospital. Zhu Ming wants to be a professional singer. He sings for groups of people at the city hospital to cheer them up. “V olunteering is great!”says Huiping. “Not only do I feel good about helping other people, but I get to spend time doing what I love to do.”Lin Pei says he has learned more about animals. Zhu Ming says he has met some wonderful people at the hospital. The three students plan to set up a student volunteer project at their school.”Don’t put it off,”says Huiping.”Becoming a volunteer today!”Unit 8 P.64 3aLast week everyone was trying to cheer up Jimmy, the Bike Boy. But this week, Jimmy is happy again. On Monday, he told a radio interviewer that he had run out of money to buy old bikes. He also put up some signs asking for old bikes and called up all his friends and told them about the problem. He even handed out advertisements at a local supermarket. Ten he told the teachers at school about his problem and they set up a call-in center for parents. The strategies that he came up with worked out fine. He now has sixteen bikes to fix up and give away to children who don’t have bikes.Unit9 P.72 3aWho invented tea?Did you know that tea, the most popular drink in the world (after water), was invented by accident? Although tea wasn’t brought to the Western world until 1610, this beverage was discover over three thousand years before that. According to an ancient Chinese legend, the emperor Shen Nong discoveredtea when he was boiling drinking water over an open fire. Some leaves from a nearby bush fell into the water and remained there for some time. The emperor noticed that the leaves in the water produced pleasant smell. Later he decided to taste the hot mixture. It was quite delicious. And in this way, one of the world’s favorite drinks was inventedUnit 10 P.78 3aI’ve never been late for school, but yesterday I came very close. My alarm clock didn’t go off, and by the time I woke up, my father had already gone into the bathroom and I had to wait for him to come out. I had to really rush. I took a quick shower, had some breakfast, and then ran off to the bus stop. Unfortunately, by the time I got there, the bus had already left. I started walking, but I knew I couldn’t get to school on time. Luckily, my friend Tony and his dad came by in his dad’s car and they gave me a ride. When I got to school, the final bell was ringing. I only just made it to my class.Unit 10 P.80 3aIn 1938, a radio program by actor Orson Welles announced that aliens from Mars had landed on the Earth. He described where they had landed and told how they were moving across the United States. Welles was so convincing that hundreds of people believed the story, and panic set off across the whole country. By the time the authorities revealed that the story was a hoax, thousands of people had fled from their homes. One April Fool’s Day, a reporter in England announced that there would be no more spaghetti because the spaghetti farmers in Italy had stoppedgrowing spaghetti. He asked her to marry him. She was thrilled, because she really wanted to get married. However, when she said “yes”, he replied, “April Fool!”That little joke didn’t have a very happy ending. The TV star lost both his girlfriend and his show.。

长沙九年级英语朗读课文课文:How I Learned to Learn EnglishLast year, I did not like my English class. Every class was like a bad dream. The teacher spoke so quickly that I did not understand her most of the time.I was afraid to ask questions because of my poor pronunciation. I just hid behind my textbook andnever said anything. Then one day I watched an English movie called Toy Story.I fell in love with this exciting and funny movie! So I began to watch other English movies ,too. Although I could not understand everything the characters said, their body language and the expressions on their faces helped me to get the meaning.I also realized I could get the meaning by listening for just the key words. My pronunciation improved as well by listening to the conversations in English movies.I discovered that listening to something interesting in is the secret to language learning. I also learned useful sentences like “It's a piece of cake”or “It serves you right.”I did not understand these sentences at first. But because I wanted to understand the story, I looked them up in a dictionary. Now I really enjoy my English class. I want to learn new words and more grammar so that I can have a better understanding of English movies.翻译:我是如何学会学习英语的去年,我不喜欢我的英语课。

It's me again, your friendly neighborhood student getting ready to share my thoughts on the listening passage we just covered in our latest English class. Get ready for a rollercoaster ride through the wild world of English listening comprehension! The passage was all about these two kids, Amy and Tom, and their awesome summer adventure at a summer camp. I have to admit, at first, I wasn't exactly stoked about having to listen to a bunch of random kids chatting away. But as the passage went on, I couldn't help but get pulled into their story. It started off with Amy and Tom arriving at the camp, and let me tell you, their excitement was just contagious. They were like a couple of puppies let loose in a dog park, bouncing all over the place and taking in all the sights and smells of their new surroundings. I could practically picture the huge grins on theirfaces as they talked about the cabins, the lake, and all the fun activities they were gonna get to do.But of course, no summer camp adventure would be complete without a few hiccups along the way, am I right? That's where things started to get really interesting. Apparently, on their very first day, Amy and Tom got themselves lost in the woods during a little nature hike. Now, I'm not gonna lie, at this point, I was low-key freaking out for them. Getting lost in the middle of nowhere with nothing but a bunch of trees and critters for company? No, thank you!Thankfully, these two were total pros and managed to keep their cool. They recalled all the survival tips they'd learned, like looking for landmarks and listening for running water, and eventually found their way back to camp safe and sound. Phew, crisis averted! After that little misadventure, things seemed to calm down a bit. Amy and Tom talked about all the awesome activities they got to try, like canoeing, archery, and even a spot of drama (who knew they were such talented thespians?). They also made a bunch of new friends from all over the place, which is always a major plus when you're at summer camp. But let's be real, what's a summer camp experience without at least one ghost story thrown into the mix, right? Cue the spooky tale of the "Haunted Cabin" that had all the campers spooked out of their wits. Apparently, there were all kinds of weird noises and unexplained phenomena happening in this one cabin, and the rumor mill was working overtime trying to figure out what was causing it all. Now, I'll be honest, at this point, I was pretty much on the edge of my seat, hanging on every word. I'm a total sucker for a good ghost story, and this one definitely didn't disappoint. Of course, in true summer camp fashion, it all turned out to be a big misunderstanding (something about a family of raccoons taking up residence in the attic), but hey, it was fun while it lasted. All in all, listening to Amy and Tom's summer camp adventures was a total blast. It was like getting to relive all the magic and excitement of summer camp without having to deal with the bug bites and questionable cafeteria food. Plus, it was a great way to practice my English listening skills while being thoroughly entertained at the same time.I have to give a huge shoutout to the writers and voice actors who brought this passage to life. The way they captured the energy and enthusiasm of two kids on summer vacation wasjust spot-on. And the various accents and dialects they used for the different characters really added an extra layer of authenticity to the whole thing.Of course, no listening exercise would be complete without a few comprehension questions to really put our skills to the test. And let me tell you, these ones were no walk in the park. From recalling specific details about the camp activities to identifying the main ideas and themes of the passage, it was a real workout for my English brain. But you know what? I actually kind of enjoyed the challenge. It forced me to really focus and pay attention to every word, every inflection, and every subtle nuance in the speakers' voices. And when I finally managed to ace those questions (with maybe just a little help from my trusty notes), it was such a satisfying feeling of accomplishment. All in all, this listening passage was a total win in my book. It was engaging, entertaining, and most importantly, it gave me a chance to flex my English listening muscles in a fun and creative way. Plus, who knows? Maybe one day, I'll get to have my own epic summer camp adventure to share with the class. But for now, I'll just have to settle for living vicariously through Amy and Tom's experiences. And you know what? I'm perfectly okay with that.篇2My First Listening Comprehension Passage in 7th Grade English ClassWow, the first day of 7th grade English class was really exciting! I was a little nervous walking into the classroom, but Ms. Wang, our English teacher, seemed really friendly and made me feel at ease right away. After going over the class rules and syllabus, she told us we were going to do a listening exercise from the textbook. I've done listening exercises before in my English classes, but this was the first one for my new 7th grade level. I wasn't sure what to expect.Ms. Wang passed out a worksheet with some questions related to the listening passage we were going to hear. She told us to read through them first to prepare. The questions were things like "What is the main idea of the passage?" and "What are the key details about...?" By reading the questions first, it helped me know what to listen for. Then she played the audio clip from the textbook CD. It was a conversation between two American students, Amy and David, talking about their summer vacations. Even though the voices were a bit fast, I was able to understand most of what they said by really concentrating.Amy talked about going to summer camp for two weeks. She described her typical day there - getting up early, doing outdoor activities like hiking and canoeing, and then arts and crafts in the afternoon. She said her favorite part was the talent show at the end where she did a dance performance. It sounded like a fun camp!David's summer vacation seemed a bit more relaxing. He said he spent most of his time just hanging out with friends, going to the movies, swimming at the pool, and playing video games. Towards the end of summer though, he did go on a family road trip which he enjoyed. After the listening clip finished, Ms. Wang gave us some time to answer the questions on the worksheet while it was fresh in our minds. The questions asked specific details about Amy and David's vacations to check our comprehension.I found the listening pretty manageable overall. There were a few vocab words I didn't know, like "canoe" and "talent show",but I could still piece together the main ideas. Writing my answers in English was the hardest part for me.When Ms. Wang went over the answers, I got most of them right which made me feel proud. A couple of my classmates struggled more and asked for parts to be replayed. Ms. Wang was patient and replayed those sections for them.Doing this first listening activity made me realize that 7th grade English will definitely require more focus and effort than previous years. The expectations are higher, but Ms. Wang seems like a great teacher who will support us.I'm looking forward to the next listening exercise! My goal is to keep building my English listening skills, learn lots of new vocabulary, and become more comfortable writing in English. If I stay motivated and let Ms. Wang know when I need extra help, I think I can master the coursework this year.Overall, the first listening comprehension task went well. It was challenging but manageable, and a good introduction to the new level of rigor in 7th grade English class. I'm excited to continue improving my English through the listening exercises, readings, writing assignments, and more. Bring it on 7th grade!篇3Unit 1 Listening ExercisesHey everyone! I'm here to talk about the listening exercises we did in Unit 1 of our 7th grade English textbook. I have to admit, at first I wasn't really looking forward to them. Listening has always been one of the hardest parts of learning English for me. But these exercises actually turned out to be pretty interesting and useful! The first listening we did was a dialogue between two friends, Anna and Bobby, who were talking about their summer vacations. I remember feeling a little lost at first as they were speaking quite quickly. But after listening a couple times, I was able to catch most of what they were saying.Anna had gone to summer camp and it sounded like she had an awesome time. She went hiking, canoeing, sang songs by the campfire, and made lots of new friends. I felt a little jealous hearing about all the fun outdoor activities she got to do. My summer was definitely not that exciting!Bobby's summer vacation sounded pretty cool too though. He went to visit his grandparents in another city and got to explore their neighborhood. He talked about going to museums, parks, and trying different foods. That reminds me, I should reallyget out and do more stuff like that around my own city this coming summer. After listening to Anna and Bobby's conversation, we had to answer some comprehension questions about the details of their vacations. I'll be honest, I got a couple wrong on my first try. But going through the answers helped me realize the kinds of details I need to listen more carefully for.The next listening was a short monologue from a girl named Sophie introducing herself and her family members. With this one, I focused hard right from the beginning to catch all the names, ages, personalities and any other specifics she mentioned about each person. I ended up doing pretty well on the questions, which made me feel proud. One listening that really stuck with me though was the third one, which was a news report about a annual kite festival in India. Maybe it's because I just find different cultures so fascinating, but I was completely absorbed listening to the details about the history of the festival and how it's celebrated. Apparently people from all around come to this coastal town to attend, and there are kite makers who create the most incredible and gigantic kite designs you can imagine. The reporter mentioned one kite that was the size of a big truck! After the report, we had to sequence a series of pictures showing the different events and activities that happen at the festival based on the information we heard. I really enjoyed that exercise because it combined listening comprehension with putting the visuals in order, which helped solidify everything in my mind. I can honestly say I learned some fascinating new things about Indian culture from that one listening. The final listening for the unit was an interview with a boy named Simon who talked about his after-school hobby of taking care of reptile pets like snakes and lizards. Now this one admittedly made me a little squeamish since I've never been a huge fan of those scaly creatures. But I still found it interesting to learn about how you have to create the proper habitat for them, what they like to eat, how you handle them, and all the responsibilities involved in caring for them as pets.Simon came across as a really knowledgeable and passionate kid when it came to his reptile friends. By the end of the interview, I could tell he just absolutely adored those animals. Even though I don't think I could ever be a reptile owner myself, it made me happy to hear how much joy this hobby brought him.Overall, I've got to say this set of varied listening exercises did a great job exposing us to different contexts likeconversations, monologues, interviews and reports. The subject matter was diverse too, covering things like vacations, cultures, hobbies and more. It really helped improve my listening comprehension abilities for common everyday speech as well as picking up important facts and details.I especially liked the way most of the listenings hadfollow-up activities where we had to apply and reinforce our understanding of the content through things like answering comprehension questions, sequencing pictures, or filling out worksheets. It wasn't just passively listening, but actively engaging with the material which definitely helped solidify what we learned. As I've realized, focusing my attention and applying active listening strategies is so important for being able to catch the key information when listening to English speakers. These exercises gave me a lot of good practice with that. While listening may never be my absolute favorite part of learning English, these exercises showed me that it can actually be pretty engaging and interesting when the content is diverse and relevant to our lives and interests as middle school students. I'm feeling a lot more confident about my listening abilities now after working through this whole unit.I'm really looking forward to seeing what types of listening activities we'll do in the upcoming units. Maybe I'll even discover some new fascinating。
